What I liked: Fun rides, lots of food options. Convenient locker system and wristband. I liked the showers and changing rooms. What I did not like: Rude service in food area (smoothie stand) in waterpark. When I tried to ask for other options for salad dressing, I received a very impolite response. Found a large piece of plastic in wrap which was bought at the smoothie stand in waterpark (which we did not complain about, especially since they had already been rude). Music too loud in certain areas, especially in eating area by smoothie stand. Bathrooms wet & dirty in sink area. Overall, too loud in waterpark. Need some kind of sound absorption in room to make it quieter. Arcade seemed noisy, crowded, and cramped. Did not feel enticing. Upon purchasing tickets, attendant would not give us the lower price which was advertised on website. He could not give a reason except that the prices vary. I felt this was false advertising. Felt certain areas were unsafe. Kids did forward flips in 4 feet deep water, which seemed dangerous. Basketball area was a little dangerous. My daughter got hit in the head with a ball. Ride attendant gave me detailed safety instructions, but did not give my teenage daughter and her friend the same instructions (for the Anaconda ride).  Person who took my order made a mistake and got my order wrong. They were nice and offered to fix it, but I said not to worry about it... Even though the kids had fun, I felt it was too loud, service was moderate/poor, and admission was overpriced. I'm still here at Kalahari Pocono Pines. Day-1 We arrived Monday morning at 10 AM. Check-in was fairly easy because there was virtually no one else here yet. When I passed the check-in 2-hours later... The line was very long and the same person was working. They definitely need more people there. I went to use the ladies room after checking in and it was extremely dirty. The cleaning cart was there with no attendant. Went to the indoor waterpark which opens at 10 AM because it's raining outside. The outside was closed. It's the usual indoor waterpark nothing special. The Jacuzzi. Where can I begin? It is an indoor outdoor Jacuzzi. Meaning, you can go straight from the inside through a passageway into the outside. On the inside section.... Only 3-lame-jets were working. PACKED With kids. Outdoor section NONE of the jets were on. I asked the "lifeguard" why the Jets were not on. He said do you want them on? I asked him if he knew the difference between a Jacuzzi and a pool of hot water. He said he would turn them on ... he never did. I cannot emphasize enough, how many children were in there. From a few months old to pre-teens. Horsing around.... I scooped this one girl up that was about to drown 4-years old. She was allegedly being watched by her 12-year-old sister. Her mother was so grateful. Why is the mother not watching her own 4-year-old? I am appalled by this Jacuzzi experience. Hey Kalahari.. Do you think you can have something just for adults? Do the kids not have enough activities to enjoy? No? Do you know how "unhealthy" A Jacuzzi is for children? They have these rules for the kids in the Jacuzzi. Nobody is adhering to those rules, not even the lifeguards. What lifeguard? Jacuzzis are for adults!!!!!!!! We had the buffet for breakfast. We arrived at 11 AM. They close at 12 noon. It was $30 for adults. And $20 for kids under 12. By the time we got there It was slim Pickens. You should not charge me the same amount as everybody else who got more variety before me. Was not impressed with the buffet at all. On the upside. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Except of course, for the lifeguard who doesn't know the difference between a Jacuzzi and a tub full of hot water. And most importantly, is not adhering to the rules setforth for children in the Jacuzzi. I saved a kid from drowning today.... He should be fired. We will be checking out tomorrow at the prescribed 11 AM. I will add to this review at that time. read more

Awful, too-small-for-the-bed sheets. Thin walls. Cafeteria-level food. Terrible layout where you will constantly be walking LONG stretches. LONG waits for the only two elevators running. Frustrating that they shut down elevators randomly while lines grow of frustrated parents and impatient kids. Lobby is completely mobbed after their rates for the water park goes down in the evening, blocking everything. There are so many bad decisions made here, from the structure to the day to day, but it isn't even worth detailing everything. Don't go here. And a small thing: unfortunately, this Memorial Day weekend has been rainy and foggy Sat & Sun. But this place had dozens of flags out in the rain all day and night. We enjoyed our stay here. The waterpark is insanely huge. They have plenty of rides for both smaller kids and big kids. They have multiple sections for each age of kid. They have a section for babies, toddlers, preschoolers, teens and adults. They cater too all ages. They have food available but you need to use the kiosks to order and then pick up. We did eat at Cinco Ninos and enjoyed our meal. Since it is a conference center they have decent food options which is different from other places. The rooms are spacious. We had 2 full size beds and a couch. They also had crafts in the morning and it was awesome. The instructor gave about 5 options the kids could choose from, again catering to many different ages. Was there for a national dance competition. Check in was smooth. I liked being able to check in at a kiosk and not stand in a long line. When I arrived the lines were not long though and moved fairly quickly when I needed to stop at the front desk. Parking is interesting. You have the option for valet which is 40 a night or self parking. Self parking was a little annoying because parking filled up. My room was clean and huge. I have no complaints about the room. We were far from the convention center so there was always a long walk. I was happy to see that Starbucks was proudly served. My matcha latte was always perfect when I ordered from the Market. The Waterpark was HUGE! My daughter had the best time trying the different slides. I didnt make it to the outdoor pool because of scheduling and the weather conditions. There is a new restaurant that specializes in Mac N cheese. I gave 3 stars this time because security staff is really not present around in the late evening hours and there were many people running up and down the hallways and slamming of doors. We keep coming back because the kids enjoy the water park and rides. Not sure if it was the shampoo/body wash, the bed or the water park water but I did not sleep well. It does not help that on the 3rd fl the water flow was so bad it was like taking a shower under trickling water where you never feel clean no longer how long you stand under the shower. We stayed two nights and on the second night our room phone rang in the middle of the night. Neither nights were a great sleep, which led to a poor overall experience for me at the park. read more

We had to go to kalahari poconos for a dance competition and had to stay for 5 nights. When we checked into the room Sunday, I had to kill 3 flies. Monday morning I woke up to find ants all over the couch and wall and then more by the sink area. I was reaching out to the desk about the ant situation when my 6 year old son who was still in bed, said there was a bug In the bed. You can imagine my disgust when I looked and it was in fact a BED BUG! I immediately freaked out and called the desk who said they would send a manager up. They did not. They sent up a facilities guy instead (who was very nice...but we wanted a manager). He confirmed it was a bed bug...a rather large one at that. He said they would need to "heat treat" the clothing, luggage, teddy bears, etc. and would need to move our room. My daughter had to be downstairs competing within the hour so it was a mad rush to pack up our room. My husband went with the facilities guy to look at a new room on the 3rd floor. Well what do you know....more flies flying around!!! My husband said this was unacceptable and again requested a manager. At that point the facilities guy (againnnnn no management) brought my husband to the presidential suite which was the least they could do at this point. Where he told my husband there's "special devices" that detect bed bugs in these rooms. Great. We threw our stuff in there and headed to the dance competition. When we arrived back in the new room around 1:30pm, we found our luggage back in the room. When we opened it...we found that my husband and kids luggage was in balls and their bathing suits still wet from the day before. And my suitcase didn't look touched. So I'm unsure what kind of "heat treatment" was even done. At this point we were even more upset and went to the desk so my husband could speak with management in person. It was a fight to get money back for Sunday and Monday but they reluctantly did. My kids wouldn't sleep under the covers for the remainder of the stay- who could blame them. The service for the hotel in general is a 2/10. The employees are severely lacking in customer service skills from management all the way do waitstaff. Our waitress at Cinco Ninos Just watched us clean up a spill from one of the kids and then eventually went and grabbed more napkins and just continued our order- didn't clean up the floor or anything. Service is very slow here as well so make sure you bring a lot of patience. And now after the week we had, we have to sit at the laundromat so we don't bring any bugs into our own homes. bottom line...MAKE SURE YOU CHECK EVERYTHING IN THOSE ROOMS!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We came and celebrated our son's birthday here! We got the 3 bedroom condo, which was convenient since many water parks don't have this option. However, the room was quite weathered - peeling furniture, urine stench, and low pressure frigid showers. As for the waterpark, there are many things to do for little ones to adults! So many options, but yet again, the water was so cold my son's lips turned blue and couldn't stay in the play structure very long. We've been to all the water parks in the area during the winter and this was definitely the coldest. Overall, the kids had a blast but don't come in the water unless you like cold showers and waterslides. read more

Beautiful Resort. We were here celebrating my Birthday which was April 13th. The same day as the event. So I was super excited! We traveled all the way from Maryland and it didn't disappoint. We were here for the Wine & Food festival. We purchased VIP tickets and it was so worth it! Our tickets included valet parking. One hour early entry with a spectacular brunch & a swag bag & wine glass. We really enjoyed this event. Food & drinks, entertainment was on point. We didn't stay at the resort but it was beautiful. We stayed in town for the weekend and we both felt like this was well worth the trip. Enjoyed all the entertainment & vendors as well. I would definitely do this again. I hear this is done annually. There were 4 slides we couldn't do. Nothing on the website said they would be shut down. It was fine though because we were allowed to order off the menu as if it were a buffet. All the food was delicious, alcoholic drinks are tasty but very expensive. We've came here twice last year and both times were great! We had so much fun we made it a group trip with friends and our kids had the best time together! My son is autistic and the waterpark is thoughtfully designed so there are swings, smaller slides, & a calmer (kid) area and the other larger attractions are on the other side. I came here to celebrate my niece's birthday w/ my sis, her bf,my other niece,& her friend. I won a contest for a free room. Score!!!! Check-in was delightful except for a woman that was rude. She said to me,"you don't want to use the self check-in kiosk" but she said it like I was slow. I told her no I have a voucher. Anyhoot, Alexandra was very welcoming & made the check-in process easy & breezy! I was just getting my water passes for now(b/c check-in is @3pm but you can go to the water park @10am). Every room comes w/ free water passes. Depending on the size of the room,that's how many passes you get. I got 4 water park passes for 2 queen size beds & a pullout couch.To my surprise,Alexandra had a room ready for me! I was stoked b/c I got to drop off my things off in the room. My sister had some issue w/ the water park ticket attendant. I got to the water park & grabbed towels for all of us. I went to the bigger basketball pool(you get to shoot hoops in the water). I was trying to please my niece but who doesn't love basketball. Then, I got nippy so I headed to the hot tub. There was so much chloride in that hot tub it made me choke. It stained my bathing suit which was a bummer. I couldn't even hardly breathe. Please if anyone reads this from Kalahari that is unsafe having so much chloride. Please fix it! It wasn't just that day b/c I heard numerous people complaining. I should have told a staff member. That was a bummer b/c the hot tub is my favorite place to be where I visit. Over all the water park is ok but it should be phenomenal based on the price of a bottle water and snacks. I would not recommend paying extra for the emerald longe experience. It's a waste of money trust me !!!! The breakfast buffet I would highly recommend. I did not like the room setup. The sink should be in the bathroom , not outside next to the bed and coffee maker!!! I came to the kalahari resort in the poconos for a conference and was pleasantly delighted at the amount of amenities and services available here. It truly is a resort and you won't need to leave your room at all. They have a massive water park that has slides and adult only areas, 3 restaurants, a couple markets, bars both inside and outside the water park, gift shops, a really huge arcade that's great for people of all ages, and much more. They also donate proceeds to a worthy cause providing water to certain areas in Africa. read more

So annoying that I had trouble redeeming a voucher for 2 admissions to the water park for two teenagers that were joining us just for the water park while my sister was getting our room. As I waiting on the long line upstairs a worker talked to me in a tone that made me feel stupid asking "what's the matter the kiosks are all not working?" I say I'm redeeming a voucher, she says oh and carries on. When I get to the person at the booth the say I need to go downstairs, as I do. Downstairs the lady asks if I made reservations to redeem , I say I didn't know I had to? She goes in an office and comes back and says she can do it. Then says I'll have to have the kids present because people been selling them. I was so offended, and after the big inconvenience I had, I didn't want to go back up and down and wait on line again, so I tell her just put them on me and my boyfriend because I rather not be inconvenienced. The room was spacious but lacked basic modern features such as a Bible, pen and notepad, usb plugs, luggage stand, hairdryer, etc. The atmosphere and decor was beautifully laid out, but it lacks warmth in hospitality. The facility is cashless which necessitates less available staff to assist with things. As an adult, I'm not blown away bas d on the financial aspect. I feel prices are overly inflated for an average experience at best. ($7 for dusty water bottles in the room, handprints on the window, dust on the table.) The conference experience, lobby area, well maintained common area bathrooms, and activity options are good but the room is slightly disappointing. Would I come here as a personal choice in the future or recommend it to others? Probably not. Would I bring my kids here for a special occasion? We decided to stay 2 nights at the resort. When you first come in the front desk greets you with telling you that the pre check in QR code doesn't work so you should book with them. Not sure the point of having kiosks if they don't work. We go to our room and inspect it, there was make up stairs on the linen as if the bed was just remade and not changed. I requested new linen and it took a while, it seems as if AI I responding. The food is actually pretty good, the macaroni station had a good amount of food. The water park is nice but some of the life guards are a holes. They have rules that are not written. Bring a life jacket that fits for your baby. My son was choking in the ones they had and all kids under 48 inches HAVE to wear it which is annoying. Great wolf doesn't do that but again I know it's 2 different parks. read more

I was influenced by people on Tik Tok to come here. What they advertised was a luxury experience but except it was giving industrial sadness. The indoor water park didn't have many multi rider rides, the alcoholic drinks barely had any alcohol in them, the water was cold despite it being cold outside already, the wave pool didn't do much with waves and again was cold. I think this is a great place if you have kids or are here for more than a day. This is because there's an arcade to check out and restaurants that I didn't get a chance to check out. read more

We tried Kalahari out for the first time. We did all have five as a family of five, but we deff enjoy great wolf and American dream malls water parks more. Sunday the place was packed to the gills and Monday it was pretty empty and walk onto most rides. We had a super nice 2 bedroom suite. We also got a pizza from the cafe mirage that was very good, 20" pizza for 35$ total. No complaints really just not our favorite water park place for the 500$ price tag of 1 night and two day park time. We also did have 2 more family members come on Sunday and it was an addition 109$ for them so 500 was 7 people and the room. read more

We went during president week because in NY the kids are off for the whole week, Kalahari wasn't crowded but the weather was cold outside like in the 30s so the miniature golf and zip lining wasn't open , so indoor water park it is, it's a kind of big , able to walk around and explore the resort, restaurants with in the premises . A lot of African memoir / artifacts around the resort. The hotel gives you the feel of being In The wilderness . Kalahari is doing well on its own compare to their competitors. Plenty of parking outside. They have the same activities like a lazy river, water slides , tubing slope, Typoon tides. Prices was a deal during February. The food was your basic finger licking goods. I came here on Monday for spring break with my kids and an employee was very rude to me so I asked if I can kindly speak to their manager. The manager came,her name was (Natalie) she Acted like she didn't care about her employees and she was very dismissive about it. At this moment I was over being there when that was my first day going in,mind you this is my first impression of her. I asked her to speak to a higher manager than her she said okay and walked away and never came back. This hotel service is HORRIBLE. Now let's talk about the room.... the room was nasty there was stains on the sheet, I even found a baby roach like I'm disgusted by this. They also have signs that say "NO SMOKING" and customers on my floor were smoking on the terrace and my daughter has an oxygen tank and she can't breathe that in. They do not care about any customers here they only care about money. I spent over 4,000 dollars on this place and I did not enjoy my time I had to make sure my kids enjoyed their time together here but I will never be coming back here ever again. Returned in Thanksgiving weekend due to a good deal. We didn't use the waterpark the day we checked out, so we avoided the public shower room situation. It was a more pleasant trip then. It wasn't crowded at all. Food line was short. I got my order within 10 min. Bathroom is cleaner. One thing I especially like is fridge and microwave in each room. It saved us a lot of money. Check in process was little chaotic. We got there on a Saturday 1 pm. There was one long line so I stood in line. Found out no need to stand on line for self check in at Kiosk. The line was for in person check in. A lot of us didn't know and wasted time. Finally a staff arrived to direct traffic. Check in at kiosk was simple and easy. No check out process. We just left. Bill was emailed to me the night before. Overall this trip was smooth and pleasant, mainly it's because less crowded and we didn't need to use the public shower room. read more

Our family stayed at Kalahari Poconos on 2/2/26, and unfortunately we experienced a very concerning situation involving emergency procedures and guest communication. At approximately 3:00 a.m., an evacuation alarm sounded instructing guests to immediately leave the building. My family, including our young son, evacuated and waited outside in freezing temperatures near our car. During this time, there was no visible staff presence, no announcements, and no communication explaining what was happening or when it would be safe to return inside. The lack of communication created significant fear and confusion, especially for our child, who became extremely distressed and repeatedly expressed that he did not feel safe returning to the resort. I attempted multiple times to call the resort but could not reach anyone. After a delay, I used the website chat feature and was told it was a false alarm. This was the first and only communication we received during the evacuation. Because of the emotional impact on our child and the uncertainty surrounding the situation, we made the difficult decision to leave in the middle of the night and cut our stay short. Before posting this review, I attempted to resolve this directly with resort management. We used approximately $275 in gift cards and paid for early check-in, and we are not requesting reimbursement for those. We respectfully requested a refund for the unused portion of our stay and asked for a call to discuss the incident. At the time of writing this review, we have not received a response to our calls or email. I understand that false alarms can happen. However, the absence of emergency communication, lack of visible staff assistance during an overnight evacuation in freezing temperatures, and lack of follow-up afterward is extremely concerning from a guest safety and customer care perspective. I sincerely hope Kalahari reviews and improves emergency communication procedures moving forward. Unfortunately, we had already experienced customer service challenges prior to arrival when we were forced to reschedule our stay due to travel restrictions during Winter Storm Fern. Despite unsafe travel conditions and restrictions in the Poconos area, we were told our promotional rate could not be honored when rescheduling. While we moved forward with the stay, this contributed to an overall disappointing customer service experience. read more

Got room for relatively cheap, went on a day that wasn't very crowded, water park was very nice they could definitely do some dusting and cleaning down there but other than that it was a great time. Arcade card ticket machines didn't work with our cards (may have been our problem not the resorts, but still was very overpriced, the places we ate at were also very overpriced but I guess that's the norm nowadays. Definitely recommend the park to others. The front desk guy helped us a whole lot when we got there so thank you to him you the goat (long dark hair with scrunchie on your wrist) overall great experience definitely want to go back highly recommend for thrill seekers read more

I have to admit I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I personally have some sensory issues and get overwhelmed with kid stuff I put up with because of my kids. SO I was really happily surprised with our experience! We came last minute for my youngest's birthday over MLK weekend when there was snow. This is maybe the last time we can fit our whole family in one room acceptably (kids are 10, 7, and just turned 4) so we went with the cheapest option and my eldest was very happy with the pull out couch. I found the room to be clean and no issues, even in all the little weird places that only the mom of a preschooler checks. I was on the 3rd floor and never heard anything from another room. I wish a place so kid focused didn't have a snack minibar because you know little kids don't understand, and calling to the front desk to ask if it could be removed just got the suggestion to put it in the closet, which worked fine but then our heavy winter coats were an issue. Pure nitpicking but would be a nice thing to accommodate. Because of the snow I actually really appreciated the maze indoors because we could get fully across the resort indoors and had no issue with parking. The prices of everything in the resort were fine, you expect some upcharge because you're a captive audience, but nothing was as much as like, a zoo or the boardwalk. We had dinner at the burger place both nights and the breakfast buffet had some options that made it a really great deal depending on what your kids eat (a carving station with turkey, kielbasa, and steak, pulled pork for breakfast burritos, basic crunchy chicken bites for any picky eaters). There are lots of great local food options if there ISN'T a snowstorm keeping you in, so you can easily save money that way. I saw another review mention the Pioneer Diner and I agree, it's great there. The pools and water parks seemed really clean to me, not that I fully know what to look for. Absolutely no debris in any of the water, no visible mold, no weird smells. My 10 year old could run off and do slides while there were plenty of things for my 4 year old in the little kid area, and there's also a 21+ hot tub/bar grotto. It seemed pretty busy to me but never "crowded" because there are so many zones. We bought a character cup the first day that got us free refills on Icees and sodas which was a big treat for the kids. The arcade is what you'd expect, I never love the costs but the kids had a great time. We had a question the next day and specifically Ray gave excellent customer service. There's some little free fun things like a dance party in the lobby that the people working make a lot of fun. Seriously, big dancing for multiple hours that wore my kids out perfectly. Anyway, this is just my long and in depth review for what I would say to another parent considering, since I have heard bad things about some other similar places. I'd definitely do this as a long weekend trip from Philly again when budget allows. read more

Got tickets to check out this water resort. It was very cool. There are a ton of Africa themed water slides. There were so many different (interesting) slides I've never been on in my life. There were a couple that were kind of funnel like. My ultimate favorite was this one meant for strong swimmers that was just a one person slide that ended up in a funnel that plopped you into a 7ft pool. There were two hot tubs. The one hot tub that went from the inside to the outside. There was even an adult pool with a sit down bar in water. Outside of the water park, there is a ton of restaurants to check out. There was also a build a bear and other shops. There is even a convention center, hotel, laser tag, zip liner, and spa for people who may not like water parks. read more

All resort staff very nice and so helpful. Slides were great and lines not bad. It seemed they did not have enough workers though as children were deciding when to go on their own. One yelled at me to go. Several workers were working more than one slide. Towels are a hassle. If you dont return them all you get charged $30 a piece. At the end of both days we were short one towel. We had them all day until the end. Had to go around looking for an abandoned towel so we wouldn't get charged. The charge encourages ppl to take other people's towels and they suffer. Lockers... I was unknowingly trying to get into a locker that wasn't mine. I mixed up the number when I put it in my phone to remember it. Girl came.over and opened it for me. She changed it to my wrisband and left before I could say this isn't mine. I could have taken everything. I tried to call after her but she just kept walking. Hope the other ppl got into their locker. Very nice room. We had a 2 bedroom suite. Only issue was checkout. 2 working elevators. Housekeeping everywhere. Hard to walk down the halls with all their carts. They start knocking on your door 15 min before checkout. Heard some people waited 20 min for elevators. Not enough carts. Ppl took elevators going up just to get a spot on one. Stopped on every floor just to see frustrated expressions. Stairs are not an option with kids and luggage. read more
