We had drinks at Spooners and ordered food. The drink (watermelon sangria) gave me such a bad stomach ache and heartburn, I had to leave to lay down in the car for a few minutes. When I returned, my food was there. Wings and fries. Definitely recommend. There isn't a changing room for the pool, so we used the restrooms, that were not the cleanest- but got the job done. They provided towels for the indoor pool and hot tub. Hot tub was nice. Lots of chlorine. My blond hair is green now There was a wall that displayed broken tiles that were found by previous lovers. We also found a tile with our toes and added it to the collection. Of course I was going back into the bar to get more drinks (decently priced for a resort) so after a few hours of swimming and playing, I'm drunkenly ready to leave. We had a good time because we always do together. Keep your expectations low and you probably will, too.

While dated, it shows that this property is being well maintained. We had an entire living room, fire place, outdoor balcony overlooking the lake and the beautiful heart shaped jacuzzi. I could tell they took their time to clean and thought about the layout, ambiance and activities to do within the property - there was a lot of outdoor activities such as archery, tennis, pickleball and kayaking when the weather warms up. I normally feel icky anywhere outside of my house but oddly enough, I felt very at home and comfortable here. What a romantic and cute spot.

It turned out to be the perfect place for a little escape and quality time together. The hotel is posh, classy, and inviting, and you can tell there's a lot of thought and attention to detail throughout the entire property. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The 90-degree pool was definitely a treat! And a special shoutout to my DY (wink) girl Natalie, who worked the pool area and made sure the drinks were flowing! She was so personable, friendly, and attentive and definitely added to the fun of our time in that area. We also had the chance to experience both lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was a nice bonus. We loved being able to enjoy ourselves without having to leave the property. We're also so glad we upgraded our stay to include access to the concierge lounge. A special thank you and shoutout to Darius for recommending the upgrade--it was absolutely worth it! The lounge was lovely, classy, sophisticated, and comfortable. With unlimited access, we enjoyed complimentary beverages (including beer and wine), snacks, light breakfast, midday bites, and evening finger foods. It was such a nice perk and added an extra special touch to our anniversary getaway. And it's the little things that caught my attention. I mean, even the hang tag for your room door feels like quality! That pretty much sums up the attention to detail throughout this hotel. I could go on and on about all the little intricacies and thoughtful touches that made our anniversary getaway special, but then this review would turn into a novel. So I'll just say this: we're so glad we chose this hotel, and you'll just have to go experience it for yourself!

I just recently stayed at The Swiftwater for a one-night getaway to the Poconos. What appears as an…read moreupscale spot for a staycation unfortunately left much to be desired. The exterior of the building has a lodge aesthetic and inside is adorned with modern finishes. Our room was a standard king sized room on the 2nd floor. The room was clean and it was very spacious however when we first entered our room there were no bath towels or bath robes. Later I noticed that we also did not have tissues or a room service menu. When I called housekeeping to request towels and robes the staff was exceptionally quick to respond and did so happily. The service at the Swiftwater is great when requested; however, it does not appear to be the default. After checking in we made sure to enjoy the Swiftwater's prime amenity, the heated pool. From 5-10 pm the pool is adults only which made the experience relaxing. We opted to get drinks from the Olivet bar before lounging in the pool and I am sad to report that the drinks were not great. For $43 I received the smallest and poorly rationed Aperol Spritz and my boyfriend sipped on a double Captain & Diet. At around 6:00 pm we moved from the pool to the outdoor fire pit and enjoyed the serenity and heat before heading back to our room to shower and get ready for dinner. We walked over to Desaki Hibachi and had an incredible dinner. The vibe was very casual given that it is a hibachi restaurant but the meat was fresh & tender and my gluten allergy was taken seriously by all members of the staff. The next day we enjoyed a round of golf at Buck Hill Falls Golf Club. When I booked this experience on the website I was told that a complimentary shuttle was available to transport us to the course and back however at check-in I was told this is no longer offered. That was a disappointment as the course is 17 minutes from the hotel and thus added 17 minutes to our 2+ hour route home after the day on the course. Buck Hill was a breathtaking course with tremendous hospitality. Overall the heated pool, walkable distance to Desaki & accessibility to Buck Hills were the highlight of our stay at the Swiftwater.

Found a hotel maid/cleaner, and had her give me another towel. But like seriously, these are things that should all be double checked before renting a room out to someone. (Yeah, somebody should probably make a separate Yelp listing for the golf course versus roping it…read morein with the rest of the place but, whatever) Ok, it's been a few weeks since playing here and the details are quite fuzzy, but here's a few points: First, every course should have something like the below on their website. It's a must read before playing here. Every hole fully broken down by yardage/tee box locations/hazards/distances to the green from hazards & landing areas, etc. You're flying blind & insane to not look at it before playing. mountairycasino.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Golf_Course_Tour_R1.pdf The best way I can describe this course would be to say that every hole has something going on and you, IMHO, cannot DeChambeau it here by just gripping/ripping and seeing what'll happen next. Let me help in advance that what'll happen next is usually going to involve something with your ball being lost in sand/water/trees and a high ass score. Yes, every hole has some combination of extra narrow fairway, lined with trees, water, multiple traps, water & traps, healthy elevation up or down, blind dog leg, etc. Even the "easy" ones, have a twist that's not in your favor. I'm not saying this place is impossible, but it does require thought/strategy and if you have it (I know I don't) some ability to be a measured shot maker. Unlike your garden-variety municipal course where the holes just go back and forth and a hook or a slice turns into simply playing out of the next fairway, here, if you're not straight or in the fairway consistently, usually you're screwed. The three signature holes to me would be #17, #13 and #14. #17 is a short par 3 where you hit from an exaggeratedly high tee location and the entire main resort/casino building is below/in front of you. #13 is a par 5 that's about 480 but you got trees to the right and left off the tee and around 250 yards out there is a large patch of waste land and then water you need to either lay up in front of or try to bomb it over to get to the other half of the fairway. #14 is my favorite because you tee it up right next to their sewage treatment plant. Nothing says ambiance better than a big fat nose full of summer steamer when you're waiting for people in front of you. Pace of play was so-so. They have signage and all sorts of crap out there about it, but no one is enforcing anything. We played on an early weekday afternoon and had no one in front of us until #13. Two hours to play 1-12 and two more hours to play 13-18. That's BS. The only real negative is that they push their middle of the round food/drink stop a bit too timeshare hard. Each of the three staff members we encountered "reminded" us about it and they have a large sign after #8 re-reminding you that you can call your order in to pick it up after #9. If you're so inclined: mountairycasino.com/golf/club-house/ In the end, I don't remember what we paid but it was some cheaper Golfnow rate in the low $40's that all things considered, is hard to argue with. I enjoyed it playing here but for whatever reason, it wasn't my favorite and I probably won't be in a hurry to come back. (3.5 rounding up)

The owners Mark and Carol were more than accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome during our weekend getaway. The room was spotless and super cozy. We honestly got the best sleep ever as the beds were super comfortable. The included satellite TV service was a nice touch, as we were able to watch some good shows while unwinding from our day. The included breakfast was absolutely fantastic. Everything was super fresh and it screamed top quality ingredients. I had gotten the special with truffle and asparagus with home fries and it was VERY good. My lady had scrambled eggs with sausage patties, blueberry pancakes, home fries toast and she loved it as well. That same night we had dinner in the restaurant named Butter, and it was such a treat. The menu is extensive enough to have a variety of options without being overbearing. Dinner was just as amazing as breakfast, and EVERYTHING we had was top tier. We got a Tokyo Mule, the Sidecar, The Margarita Flatbread, the Lobster Campanelle, the Horseradish Crusted Salmon, a Nutty Irish dessert cocktail and an Espresso Martini alongside a dessert (I can't remember which one we shared). We devoured absolutely everything we had. Portions were generous and the flavors were out of this world. Customer service on the restaurant side was also very good. Do note that dinner isn't included in your stay, but I HIGHLY recommend trying the restaurant. Aside from all of the above, I can't overstate how good the customer service was here. Mark and Carol really made this place feel like a second home. The decor also gives that feeling, and it all culminates to being one of the best places I've ever stayed. Don't hesitate. Highly recommended!

Room overall appeared clean and fresh. The hotel in general seemed to be clean and fresh. You smell the pool immediately upon entry which is better than smelling something bad (lol). Breakfast was the usual self serve you find nowadays, but goes until 10am which was nice! The dining area was very large, spacious, and clean.
