Our stay at the home "European Adventure" on PoconoStay.com was so bad that it prompted me to…read moreregister this business on Yelp in order to write this review. First the positives: It is a large house that will fit a large family or party under one roof. The hot tub is relaxing after a long day of skiing. The house is in a peaceful neighborhood overlooking woods. It has a large TV. Now the negatives: The house is dated and in pretty poor condition with many chips in the paint and scratches on the wall. The furniture is tired and mismatching with some questionable stains on them. Carpeting is stained and warn down and should have been replaced a while ago. Bedrooms were spacious but the beds were not comfortable. Heating in the bedrooms is spotty, some rooms were very hot while the Master Bedroom has no functioning heating elements and is very cold. The website advertises "Fully stocked kitchen, with stainless steel refrigerator " The kitchen has a few basic utensils. The pots and pans are basic and has food burnt onto them from prior guests. The coffee maker works well. There is only one wine glass. The rest of us used the mismatched glasses. The most frustrating part was that the House was billed as "a mere 10 minutes away from Mount Airy Casino, Shawnee, Camelback," This was completely false as it pertained to Camelback Ski resort. We decided to rent this home because of its proximity to Camelback. When we were given the exact street address we Google-mapped it and found that the distance was over three times that! It was a 35-minute ride (in no traffic on a Sunday morning at 7:15 am) down a number of remote and windy roads, that thankfully were not snow covered or that would have added much more time. Once we found out that the house was three times as far as advertised we called the office to question the 10-minute advertisement. We were told "a supervisor would call us back after 5pm." This did not happen so we emailed the following day and did not receive a response before our stay. When we arrived back home we emailed two days in a row again to complain about the above items. We tried calling and emailing as a means to engage the people at Poconostay.com, but we have never had out emails or phone calls returned. We were very disappointed with the house and feel that the listing does not represent the actual home. I would not recommend this place nor this agency.

Stayed at the "Grand Summit Lodge" with friends back in Early winter 2022. Upon entering the house,…read moreit was already in a state of disarray. Much of the furniture was very worn down, and none of the fixtures or housewares matched. From the lamps, dried flower arrangements, to the kitchen ware, to the chairs & couches, it all appeared to have either been a mish-mosh purchase from a thrift shop, or had seen better days. In the lower guest room, there was a closet filled with lamps (broken? Old? Who knows) and blankets. Going up the stairs, our feet were greeted with nails/screws that were not adequately secured in to the floor. Window shades were falling apart, as was the cupboards. Paint was two-tone... paint or peeled. We tried to make the best of it, as we were amongst friends on a weekender. Then after a day of skiing, we returned to discover there was no running water. This would have been less problematic if we were college kids roughing it, but we had a number of young children with us that constantly needed hand washing, etc. Plus the fact that we're still amidst covid times, but let's be real, having a place to wash up was a basic necessity. The management company sent some young gentlemen who jimmied the basement door open with a butter knife, and attempted to resolve the problem, but they couldn't fix it. We were left with no running water & 4 families for the 2nd half our stay. We resorted to melting & boiling snow from outside the house to try to intermittently flush the toilet and rinse hands. We subsequently made a grocery run to get gallons of water. Anyone needing to hit the porcelain throne for an extended seating had to be driven into town to hit up a store or restaurant. Having a run-down property is one thing, not having running water is a whole level of unacceptable. While I was not the one coordinating our stay, from what I heard the management company offered a credit towards a future stay if we decided to leave early, OR they "would work something out" if we stayed longer. Some members of our party drove 4-5 hrs to get to the house, and leaving in the late afternoon would mean driving in the snow or icy roads late at night, which we all agreed was not safe, so we roughed it until there was sunlight. I heard the subsequent outcome ultimately was a few hundred bucks refund out of the thousands we spent for a weekend stay there. TL;DR: I wish I'd known running water wasn't a guarantee at this stay. Photos speak for themselves. 1.5 star for the TV/ streaming access, pool table, and hot tub.

Just look at this response... capitalizes letters, exclamation points, you feel the rage lol, do you really want to do business with someone who throws a temper tantrum because you re entitled to an opinion. Wow. Unfortunately, I am just seeing this response because I was preoccupied expanding my own business which the owner stated I cannot create. Well, I did. . I openly welcome feedback from my customer unlike this owner and the rest of Grand Leisure. My sentiments are the same. Scam.

At one time this venue was a jewel. That time is not now The bartenders are awesome. The food isn't bad either and the prices are decent....when things are all up and operational. Therein lies the rub. Place doesn't stay open cause people don't come. People don't come cause it's so inconsistent in it's operation. The whole place needs a scrub. First impressions matter and the outside is worn, the lights on the canopy look like they were hung in the throes of an epileptic seizure and the "street presence" is ZERO when coming in from the main road. There used to be some decent landscaping on the approach but that has been torn out (too pricey or too lazy? Who knows). Put a little work into the place and it could be a great hang. Folks are so desperate for something to do off-hill UT adjacent. Bring back happy hour music and the pool table and dart board. Get the game on the TV. Place is pretty mid in its current state. Maybe they'll get some leadership with the drive to bring back the luster. Would love to see it. PS fix the damn lights on the lake. It's the nicest feature of the hotel and it looks like a swamp at present.

Take your apology and shove it. How dare you dump on a random person. Sent from my iPhone When I blocked his direct assault via text he proceeded to leave more filth directly through Airbnb comms: Subject: Your Upcoming Stay - We're Still Here... Somehow Hi there, Robert Camp out Thanks for booking with us! We're genuinely excited to host you -- yes, even after the fire. Despite the damage (which we admit gives everything a... toasted aesthetic), we're still ready to welcome you. Please don't cancel. We've salvaged the essentials: a semi-functional couch (now with natural smoke-infused upholstery), and bedrooms that'll leave you speechless -- partly due to the scent, but mostly the ambiance. We know decisions are hard -- especially if you're the kind of guy who asks his wife if it's okay to breathe. But hey, this could be the boldest vacation move you've ever made, I'm sure you're wife makes all the decisions long before you do. In short: don't cancel. Let chaos be your concierge. Warmest (literally) regards, yep you know who. we are- "We're fire-tested. Guest-approved... maybe." We know who are are.... You Booked It. You're Coming. Don't Flake, Chad. Hey there, Thanks for booking with us -- and wow, congrats on being the kind of guy who can't even decide whether to cancel without texting "is this okay babe?" to the woman who's probably out right now with someone who doesn't procrastinate through life like a soggy waffle. We get it -- commitment's hard when you have no backbone, no sense of urgency, and your greatest personality trait is "asks wife for permission." But don't worry, we saved the couch -- it's burnt to hell but still warmer than your marriage. The bedrooms? Charred. The vibe? Apocalyptic. The experience? Life-changing (if you survive). This is your moment to finally lead. Be the man. Make a decision. Or keep proving why your wife is "working late again." So don't cancel. Don't back out. Unless you're afraid of smoke, hard truths, and sleeping in the ashes of your own indecision. See you soon. Or not. Whatever your wife says. - [Your Rental Team] "Where the fire isn't the only thing that's burnt out."
