We were here for a wedding. Wow! What a wonderful venue. There is a stream that literally runs through the main area. The facility has been renovated and these changes really make this venue "diamond in the rough". The staff is friendly and helpful. A beautiful place in the Poconos to visit or have a wedding.

When booking I was under the impression from my research that this was pretty secluded. It is super close to the street especially if you are in certain cottages. We tried to look past that and see what this place had to offer. The women who greeted us and checked us in were very kind and friendly. Our cottage was adorable. It had a stone tick tac toe board on the porch with a swing , chairs , table and grille. Key pad made it super easy and inside was extremely clean and taken care of. The bathroom was a decent size, they had a full kitchen with some items in the cabinets to use. A kitchen table, AC , a very cute fireplace and a living room area. Couch was really uncomfortable but we were outside most of the time. We decided to explore behind our cottage and they really put in work with the detail that went into this place. They had a "igloo" with comfy seating , fire pits and couches. A big chess board on the floor , games by the pool and swing chairs by the stream. They had a canoe that we were looking forward to take but the area to use it is super small so we decided against it. The running stream was super relaxing but from check in at 3 to about 630 they were making a tiki bar and you couldn't relax with the noise. Being we only were staying less than 24 hours that really bummed us out. We also booked on air bnb and it stated there was no kitchen/grille so we didn't bring anything to cook and had to eat out instead of hanging at our cottage. Our diffuser was empty also. But all in all, the place is very clean, once you are at the back of the resort it is peaceful and they have a bunch of places to relax. It's definitely family friendly and they offer a bunch of things to do: They do offer WiFi. I loved the idea of no TVs.. we took the time to play cards that they also had in the cottage ( along with other board games) the pool was pretty and fenced off. They had ping pong games and A fire pit right by the pool. They had a coop to check out. You also could get married here. They have a simple and cute set up by the stream. They do have a candy shop, a few restaurants , CVS very very close by. This place was clean , cute and unique and I would recommend to stay here even though we had some few hiccups.

Myself and a group of friends had the most amazing experience here last weekend! We arrived on a Saturday shortly after Noon and were shown to our cottage, the Loveshack. The cottage was awesome, very cleann, and big and lofty with plenty of space for our group of 5. We were welcomed by the host with a choice of different essential oils to choose from (I chose balance) which she proceeded to place in a cool mist humidifier. The whole process was lovely! The cottage had a large deck where we ate our meals, and a hammock that we made sure was always occupied. Right next to the deck there was a large fire pit, where we all winded down in the evening. The grounds of the resort are beautifully kept and so peaceful! There is a beautiful stream that runs throughout the property and you can hear its gentle murmuring wherever you are! There's also two hiking trails on the property, which was great for our group! I can't recommend this place highly enough, and I can't wait to go back soon!

My husband and I recently took our two grandsons (ages 2.5 and 4.5) for a week in the Poconos. We stayed at Magnolia Streamside Resort and had a lovely stay. Everyone who worked at the resort from the owners to office staff to maintenance and construction staff were very friendly and welcoming. I was somewhat nervous about traveling with the pandemic and had multiple e-mail conversations and one phone conversation with an owner and a staff member. My questions were thoroughly answered politely and in detail. Favorite activities of our grandsons included: throwing rocks in the river (which is gorgeous), playing Pooh Sticks from the bridge, playing with the large Connect Four game in the common area, and swimming. They also enjoyed looking at the chickens. Area activities that we did that were a lot of fun included: Bushkill Falls (they mined for gems), Camelback Mountain (mountain rollercoaster) and Promised Land State Park lake and beach. We stayed in the Evergreen Suite, which was a little small for our needs but we were happy to get the place just a week before we left. If we return, we would get a cabin. Also know that the resort is under construction to add a restaurant, more cabins, and tree houses. The construction going on was not a problem and the boys enjoyed watching the machinery. The swimming pool water was greenish and my husband inquired about it to the person who maintains the pool. He explained that it wasn't algae. The water comes from the stream which has a copper content and when chlorine is added, it causes a green hue. In short, we enjoyed our stay very much and hope to go back in the future.

Magnolia is a charming, rustic resort with a serene pond (fishing and canoeing) and rustling stream running throughout the grounds. Stand alone cabins boast with fireplaces kitchens jacuzzi tubs porches air conditioning etc. All linens and kitchen supplies are included. Disconnect from electronics and soak in the surroundings. It's peaceful and quiet. We will be back!

AVOID THIS DISASTROUS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!…read more During our stay, we have not seen the owner, housekeeper, or anyone who works at the Inn at all, in any way, shape, or form whatsoever - including at checkin and checkout. In fact, they instituted a "contactless" check-in and check-out where a code is texted to your phone to access the room. We are unsure why anyone would choose to work in the hospitality industry if they are so keen on avoiding any contact with their guests. It made the experience feel cold, impersonal, and frankly eerie, as if we checked into a haunted house. Usually, the best part of staying in a bed and breakfast is the breakfast. Unfortunately, that was the worst part here. The hotel said that due to "light construction," they won't be serving any hot breakfast but would offer what they claimed would be a "continental breakfast." In reality, this consisted of Folgers Keurig K-cups, store-bought bagels in a plastic bag, defrosted boxes of Jimmy Dean sandwiches (which should be stored in a freezer but was stored in a fridge instead), and a few travel size cereal boxes. It is important to note that they didn't have any milk available for the cereal, nor did they have any regular sugar (only Splenda). These offerings are nowhere near adequate to be considered a continental breakfast. We wound up eating out at a local diner instead. Also, there were no signs of there being any construction, so the lack of hot or continental breakfast felt like more of an excuse. There was also a pervasive cigarette stench in the room. Our room was listed as "smoke-free" and also had "thank you for not smoking" signs in the room. However, there was a cigarette stench so pervasive throughout the entire room that we resorted to opening the windows in 20 degree weather to attempt to get the stench out - to no avail. It made my clothes smell like cigarettes even when I got back home. Speaking of not having any contact with the inn staff, we also ran into several issues that needed housekeeping to address. There was a phone number listed to call for but no one ever bothered to pick up, so you are left to fend for yourself: First, the shower in our room was not working. The guests next door were kind enough to come in and figure out the problem. Additionally, we needed more towels and bar soap for the sink, which they never bothered to replenish because housekeeping is nowhere to be found. They also never provided any tissues in the room. Finally, the mattress was as hard as a rock which wound up hurting my back. Because of the mattress and because I could hear everything from next-door and upstairs guests, I got essentially no sleep during my stay. It is truly tragic and a shame just how far downhill the Brookview Manor has gone. It is abundantly clear that the inn was in its heyday when Marty and Gaile owned it. There is an old notepad with notes from prior guests, thanking Marty and Gaile for their hospitality and excellent cooking over the years. Our experience could not have been further away from that with the new owner.

The hot tub taken on its own is lovely and so luxurious, a definitely upgrade. But...the kids constantly want to come in and are never stopped. People are leaving trash everywhere since they can get it at the bar next door. The outside doors are right next to it so that becoming a thoroughfare won't be relaxing. The lighting is efficient and modern but not comforting. The splash pad is a fun idea but it is SO LOUD when it comes on, you can't hear anything at all. I'll reserve judgement for when the full outdoors are renovated and when the pool area is quiet it's lovely. I called ahead to let them know I had a disability and therefore had a therapy dog I would be bringing, they okayed this and put it in the reservation. Upon our arrival we were rudely and abruptly greeted being told we could not enter with the small therapy dog my husband was holding. We explained our situation and that we had it okayed ahead of time, however the man who was speaking rudely to us said he did not see an ADA disability and my husband informed him I struggled with both a mental and physical disability registered by the ADA which is why I have a therapy dog. The man again said he didn't see anything wrong with me, questioning my disability because that day he couldn't physically see it. We continued to plead our case as we had driven 2.5 hours to get there and there was nothing around this place, it is very secluded. Finally they let us inside and the front desk confirmed our reservation said we had a therapy dog that was okayed but the man who was speaking to us still would not let us check in. I felt violated, embarrassed and saddened at this point to be treated and talked down to in this way. Finally, when the man came back they said they would let us stay but would charge us the price of an extra night's stay as a "cleaning fee". We were already paying an exorbitant amount of money to be there and could not afford to pay for an extra night. We had to leave and drive 45 minutes to find another hotel which was welcoming and kind to us, the opposite of this place. Skytop disrespected my disability and their promise of being allowed to have my therapy dog with me. I would never go back here or recommend it and I am truly saddened to have been treated this way as a human being.

We always felt like there was a lot of space to unwind and relax when we were in our room. We were offered the Fall menu when we were there. On day 1 I had the apple crumble French toast (AMAZING) and I'm not even a big French toast guy. Your table has fresh orange juice, water, and coffee/tea when you come down and get seated. Loved this. On day 2 I had the traditional breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff was friendly and accommodating - as expected from a well run B&B. We were on site for a small gathering of gamer friends and so I also tried some of their offerings in the small cafe. I tried Italian wedding soup for lunch and got several hot tea drinks. All excellent. They have a small "snack room" near the main entrance that has popcorn, and water, coffee maker, and other small amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the most visitor-focused B&B we've had the pleasure of staying in. It sounds obvious to say that, but it his place really puts your money to work to make you enjoy your stay. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere that felt both family-friendly and tailored to adults. Whether it was the thrilling rides or the relaxing wave pool, there was always something to keep the whole family entertained. One standout feature of our trip was the food. In previous resort experiences, we've often found ourselves disappointed by the dining options, but Kalahari shattered those expectations! The variety and quality of meals were truly exceptional. From quick snacks and Starbucks coffee, to gourmet meals at one of their multiple restaurants, every bite was delicious. It was refreshing to find such a diverse menu that pleased my wife, the kids, and me. We also appreciated the thoughtful layout of the resort. It was easy to find comfortable places to relax, and while it did take some hunting , we did manage to find a table each day. We purchased the honeymoon package which includes champagne, chocolates and an hour couple massage. Upon entering the office we were greeted by a very nice lady named Rose. During check in we had to wait approximately 20 minutes while the room was being cleaned (this was 7:45PM) and the key was located. We were given the key to room 14 in the birch-wood suite. We drove through the un-kept wooded area and arrived at our room. We entered, hoping that the inside of the room would be much better than the run down outside. Before we even opened the door the smell of must permeated through to the outside area. The inside was even worse. The rugs appeared to be from the 40's with multiple cigarette holes, the kitchen fridge buzzed louder than the bugs that surrounded the "suite", the bed was inspected for bed bugs (which none were found), the filter in the air conditioner appeared to have NEVER been changed, the bathroom was so gross that my husband wouldn't even stand over the toilet to urinate, the chocolates had a CVS tag on them with a clearance sticker for 9.99 and the cheap champagne was never put on ice. We sat pondering what to do for about 2 whole min. and then decided to ask for our money back. When we arrived back at the office the place was locked down. Thank goodness that Rose had given us her cell phone number. A quick call was made requesting our money back. My husband asked why our room did not look like what was advertised on line and Rose offered us to get us that room! WTH, why weren't we given that room in the first place? Rose immediately returned to the office and refunded my money in full. I would have given this review 0 stars had it not been for the 100% refund and the courtesy of the Rose. I would not spend my money at this place unless you are looking for someplace to get bit by insects in the middle of the night and smell of must in the morning.
