Hi Yelpers. I stayed at the Best Western in Blakeslee P.A. 107 Parkside Ave. My experience was…read moregood. The people at the front desk were welcoming and polite. The lobby area is quaint. They have a pool, but I didn't get a chance to try it. You have a small area to eat a free continental breakfast. Your choices would be pancakes, eggs, sausages, toast, potatoes, orange juice, apple juice. You can purchase snacks and other drinks, but they're a bit pricey compared to getting it at the local store. Sorry if you're expecting a continental dinner, you're on your own with that. That's not covered. I had to do UberEats. The hallway to the room was clean and quiet. The room was small but perfect for me or a couple. The room came with a microwave, refrigerator, iron with an iron board. My room had a comfortable bed along with a pull out sofa couch, cushy chair with desk and sizable LG television. There is a connecting door to the room next to mine. Make sure you keep it locked. Otherwise you may have some uninvited guests...haha. You can control the room temperature which is by the window. The only problem with the television is the signal to the tv was weak causing the programs to pause every few seconds. Fyi, you get free wifi. Make sure you ask for the code. Parking, of course is available. Overall, I recommend this Best Western if you're ever up in Blakeslee P.A. and if you're planning a mini stay like me. I included a couple of outdoor pics of beautiful P.A. during my drive along with the hotel pics. Enjoy!

We stayed in a giant little villa with a full kitchen & dining area- full bathroom- one bedroom & a large fold out couch in the living room. It was more than big enough for 3 of us plus our dog! They're pet friendly which is refreshing!! Now this place is set up like a little village with the center being the front desk- inside the main area- they also have a ton of little extras such as a large movie theatre, gym/fitness center, game room, business/computer room & more. Everything is very nice, well taken care of & appears brand new. They also have the large indoor pool that connects to this building & behind it a full sized playground. My son LOVED staying here! He's a smart 6 year old & he thoroughly enjoyed the pool, playground, game & rec room! Our little villa was walking distance to the main building- being about a 6 or so minute walk or about 2 blocks! Very easy to find & go in & out. The staff was also really nice friendly and accommodating. I didn't hear or see too many other guests during our stay- which was pretty nice as well. We had the entire indoor pool to ourselves for a good 3-4 hours which is amazing! Overall I was MORE than happy with this place. I would absolutely return. Everything was CLEAN, in working order, & relatively new- which is nice! One of my biggest pet peeves is paying to stay at a hotel & then seeing their amenities are anything but & the microwave, mini fridge & tv are older then the ones in my home- that's disappointing. But didn't have that here- everything was nice and new! Woohoo!

We got a dog friendly room, that didn't smell like dogs had stayed there. Plenty of hot water in the shower. I'll definitely stay here again.

The staff here is what sells this place mostly. The price is okay, although maybe they should be…read moreeven cheaper. Nice location, amenities and inside are not updated. I do not think they should spend the money to update, but I do think they should make sure things like someone else mentioning a jacuzzi not working and if the counter siding is coming off, stuff like that should be fixed. They keep the place clean even though there was pet odor during the weekend as it is a pet friendly hotel. They have a good Poconos based location- so they know they can kind of get people to stay with them if they don't have another option nearby. But they should still minimally keep things up-to-date so that this place doesn't fall apart so bad that the town has to shut them down - based on some of the other reviews on here. If you have an option not to have this as a timeshare and only staying overnight rather than more locked in, then I think this is best. The food is respectable for what it offered as part of the deal by staying overnight here. There was a dishwasher in my place, but I'm not sure if I missed the detergent or if I was expected to get some myself. I'm not sure if I was supposed to wash the dishes myself- as I did not have too much to wash, I just did it myself as best I could as I didn't want to have to deal with potential additional charges. I would stay again, but it's not my first choice unless I have a pet and/or children. I also don't typically have a room this nice, but I had work funds I had to use up.

Requested repairs, no responses. Broken refrigerator; food spoiled. No carafe for the coffee maker...no big deal, right? Cold swimming pools. Broken jacuzzi. But so annoying. Also, like a true bad Yelper, I didn't take any pictures.) This was a while back so I sort of remember this, sort of forget a lot. What stood out is that I believe the last Tuesday of every month is $30 cash only and you need to call them to make a tee-time at that rate. I didn't set it up, my friend did, but I think that's what he said it was. Due to the possibility of rain/thunder in the forecast (that thankfully never came) the course was deserted in mid-afternoon. They let us go thirty minutes early and the round on the North Course was door to door a little over three hours which is perfect. The key before you come is to look at the below on their website as it tells you everything you need to know regardless of which course you play. www.golfsplitrock.com/course-layout The big thing I remember about this course is that most of the holes are very narrow and like seemingly every Pocono course, are lined with trees. That of course means, be straight-ish/accurate or prepare for lost ballapalooza. There is also a fair amount of what they call wetlands on most of the holes which means either be able to layup or bomb it over certain parts or else you're double screwed. I think the best thing was that due to no one being on the course, the round was very, very fast. If we wouldn't have farted around looking for balls on certain holes, this one could have been wrapped up in max three hours. Split Rock falls into that nebulous middle ground for me of Pocono Courses in that it didn't really make an impression. Nothing really outstanding just like nothing too bad. If the price were right, sure, why not.

Do not stay here. The only positive thing I can say about this "resort" is that the staff is…read morefriendly and at least handles all of the complaints from customers with grace. My parents traded their time share to stay here and reserved a two bedroom suite with two queen beds in one room and a jetted tub in the master with a king bed. Upon arrival, they were given a one bedroom with an adjoining room with twin beds and charged a $400 resort fee because there were technically two different rooms. They have never had to pay a resort fee at any other resort they've traded their time share for. That was issue number one. Later which we found out we had booked the room that was over at the willowbrook yet they put us in an entirely different room even after we complained. They said they were "looking into it" but never ended up moving us. The rooms were dirty and kitchen lacking even an oven mitt, dish towel, or even a sponge. The glasses and dishes put away were clearly dirty. So we tried to run the dishwasher, shortly after we realized it was leaking as the carpet next to and behind it was soaked. Maintenance was called and the man simply looked at it and said it wasn't leaking even after feeling the damp floor. The next day we complained again and then they sent three men to replace it with another old dishwasher likely from a different room. Also, in our entire weeks stay. I only saw one maid, once. She was vacuuming the downstairs lobby. Meanwhile, the entire second floor and on looks like it's never seen a vacuum. That was the second issue. The worst part about the entire trip was the "resort amenities" that I assumed were part of the ridiculous $400 fee...as you can see from the photos, the tiles above the pool and bowling alley were riddled with water damage and mold. One tile even fell on a man's head while swimming in the pool! I even went to the front desk to let them know that a tile had fallen into the pool in the hopes they would clean it...and the lady at the front desk just said "here are the pool hours" so I don't think she understood me. Most of the staff doesn't speak English very well though not for lack of trying and they are very nice. The hot tub literally had a layer of film on it and wasn't hot. For this reason we chose not to swim. We stayed for a whole week and by the end of the week...the tiles were still laying at the bottom of the pool. Also, the bar and the water park were closed with the exception of one day during our entire week stay. The only thing to do was go to the arcade (which obviously still cost us money) The bowling alley also had leaking ceiling tiles. They simply put a bucket under it and it was still there nearly a week later when we check out. The water park was even more disgusting than the regular pool. Not to mention half of it was closed off. This resort looks like it was once really great back when they had enough staff and money to maintain it properly. The website and pamphlets show what the resort USED to look like and are not updated. It's a shame because if they put money into repairs to restore it to its former glory, it would be a great place to stay again. This place needs new owners willing to repair it because as is, it should be HEAVILY discounted. If you're going to spend that much, go somewhere nicer and cleaner. Do not stay here. I cannot believe how much they charge with almost nothing open or working. Throughout our stay we overheard many people complaining about broken air conditioning, non working elevators, tiles falling, things not working, things not being open, and the general condition of the place. I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with all the complaints. I can only imagine how the owners treat them with how little they seem to care about customers. I'm honestly shocked they're still in business. Do better!

Location - it is about 15-20 minutes away from Big Boulder and Jack Frost Ski Mountain. It is near a major highway, closed by to fast food restaurants. Hugh parking lots. Check in Process - there was only one lady at the front desk and she seemed overwhelmed. While I was checking in, she had to answer the phone twice because it kept ringing. But other than that, the check in process seemed smooth. Room condition- the room SEEMED clean and neat when we first walk in, however, that wasn't really true. The bathroom door lock was broken and unable to locked, in fact, the bathroom door would open slowly if I did not slam the door closed. We were using the hairdryer for a bit and all the lights, except for the bathroom light and hallway light went off. The TV was off as well. It happened around 9 pm during our first night of stay, I called the front desk and the staff said he would come and check shortly. Waited for 30 minutes but nobody showed up. Then I walked downstairs to report the situation again and he said he would come up shortly. When he came up to the room to "check", all he did was to try to switch the light switches for a few times. The lights remained off and he said he would ask someone else to check next day morning. We stayed in the room without lights for the whole night. We would think it is just the circuit breaker issue and the problem would be resolved once he switched the circuit breaker, but he did not even try. Another gentleman came and fixed the lights. He told me that he just reset the circuit breaker. Couldn't the first staff done that to help us on the first night? Complementary Breakfast - the hot breakfast choice was very limited. The bananas were rotten. They were understaffed to replenish the food/supplies in the breakfast and everything went out during the peak breakfast time (around 8:30-9:00 am). There was no more milk in the fridge, guests had to unpack the paper plates and plastic cups, no hot water and coffee in the coffee area, trash was piled up and overflew from trash can, no enough space to accommodate all the guests. Elevator- there was only one elevator in the hotel. The elevator probably fits about 8 people, so it was always a line to go up or down during morning peak time.

Bring your own knife, fork, spoon, plates, cup, etc. The blanket provided is very thin. So either turn the heat on, or bring your own. Broken/missing blind from the window. Water was leaking frm the shower door. Walked out to a puddle on the floor. There was also a brownish stain in the toilet. It was a rainy weekend when we went. So we ended up having internet and wifi that first and only night only. Called and spoke with someone, was told there's an outage due to weather. Yes, the hotel is slightly older, but contrary to the other reviews, it wasn't as horrible as others have said--maybe it was because we had lowered expectations going in, but in fact we were pleasantly surprised. THIS IS NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL PEOPLE, SO GET OVER IT. It is a decent hotel, one of the least expensive in town, and definitely worth what we paid. PROS: The breakfast: more than just "grab and go." It was scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal/milk, bagels, toast, yogurt, juices, tea, coffee and more. It was buffet style and the staff were on top of refilling food and cleaning tables promptly. The pool: clean, clear, WARM! Very chlorinated-expect red eyes. The rooms: clean, comfortable, pretty much like any other middle of the road hotel. WiFi is free and worked better than cell service in this mountainous area. Tv was new, fridge and hairdryer were standard. Pretty quiet as well. The staff: awesome. The price: terrific. THE CONS: It was a little nerve wracking going up and down the hill to the hotel in the snow (December). They plow, but I'm not sure they salted the road, it seemed icy. We made it fine even though we were in a Ford Fusion and a small light Honda Fit. Yes, the key cards reset and locked us out even though we were booked for 2 days. Guy behind us in line in the lobby was having the same problem. I would suggest to the management, that since they clearly know this is a problem, just tell people when they check in that they could have a problem with this and apologize ahead of time and say that you are working in the problem. The rooms: as stated, clean, but a weird white grainy powder on the top of the bedspread. It was sort of like when you use too much powdered laundry soap and it doesn't rinse out all the way--or maybe the maids sprinkled carpet powder before they left and it overshot onto the bed--I have no idea. It was not IN the bed sheets, so we just shook it off the top and got over it. Then when we unfolded the sofa bed and just re-folded it back up, we noticed that a french fry fell out and there were also a few crumbs on top of the outer blanket in the sofa bed. Again, inside the sheets were clean. Minor, but annoying. Plumbing: toilets were a little slow. One shower (we had adjoining rooms) would not shut off completely and ran a medium stream all night. We felt horrible about all the wasted water, but it was really late and kids were asleep, so we didn't call the desk. :( Structure: I would suspect they have been trying to update and remodel. Room seemed newly painted, but certainly not a perfect paint job (paint on lamps, blotches here and there of dark paint we at first thought was blood, an unpainted water spot above the shower, etc). One old tiny elevator working (and one broken)-- IT REALLY WAS NOT A BIG ISSUE OR PROBLEM. Room heaters were a bit inefficient and inconsistent, but not terrible. Some of the the double-pane windows have become unsealed, so foggy and difficult to see outside. OVERALL: pretty decent for the low cost. No, it is maybe not like a sandals resort, but come on people, look at the room price. Never once saw a bug. Staff was great and extremely accommodating. They seem to be really trying to get the place looking better. It wasn't the Ritz, but it wasn't a roach motel either. WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN.
