My daughter's wedding reception was held yesterday at Memorytown and it was perfect! The setting was beautiful, the acoustics, the food and the service were amazing! The reception was smack in the middle of a Nor'easter snow storm. Lisa, our coordinator personally drove some staff in, all of the staff slept there that night and helped us all dig out the next morning . From the salon for the girls to get ready, to the rooms and cabins, we felt pretty pampered. For anyone considering, I wished I had booked a breakfast for our guests the next morning because the cafe was adorable. Oh, there were also so many great photography opportunities! read more

Honestly I cannot recommend Memorytown enough!!! We had our wedding there on 10/23/21 and Lori, the venue coordinator, is the most amazing human. She helped us with EVERYTHING from A to Z, and helped us make a ceremony location switch the day of due to the rain. She made sure everything was fabulous and I cannot thank her enough. It seriously brings a tear to my eye the amount of effort she put into ensuring that our day was perfect. The event staff was fabulous. They helped escort people around the property with umbrellas to ensure everyone stayed dry. Our food tasted absolutely amazing. We had our rehearsal dinner at the Tavern which has recently undergone renovations and now looks amazing! We could not be happier with choosing Memorytown for our wedding. We came to Memory Town for a wedding over President's Day weekend. We are not "woodsy" people. We collect Marriott points and cringe at the thought of "camping." We prepared ourselves for the worst and what we got, was actually some of the bests. Memory Town in the winter is very quiet. The woman who checked us in, was the same woman running the wedding, banquet crew and everything else it seemed. She was every where we were. When we got to our one bedroom cabin, there was no heat. I immediately opened my Marriott app on my phone looking for the closest location. We called Reception and she sent a man over. He was well dressed and came right in and got us a complimentary log for the the fireplace with a space heater. He told us to enjoy the rehearsal dinner and would do his best to get it fixed. We were skeptical, and wondered what we would do. During the dinner, he came to us, introduced to person who not just fixed the unit but replaced the entire heater for us and set our thermostat at a perfect 72 degrees. I was so happy. While we dined at the Tavern and had some of the BEST RIBS WE HAVE EVER HAD!! We travel a lot. We are always asked where to eat when others travel and we consider ourselves a strong foodie resource. We actually had to find the chef and compliment him on the ribs. Best kept secret!!!! Overall, everything was really nice. The staff was so sweet from the banquet servers to the bartender in the tavern who I think worked 90 hours straight. The cabins were so clean and new and fun to stay in, "roughing it, lite". Weddings there really are beautiful. Rustic, simple, elegant and simple. The food was really good. If you find yourself there, get the ribs. read more

The Tavern By The Lake Restaurant is the Absolute Delectable Destination!!!! We came here for a family wedding and came to the bar/restaurant and were pleasantly surprised!! Melissa our bartender was so welcoming and happy to make us feel at home. We met the chef Kita and ordered The 1lb of steamed clams -served in a TO DIE FOR Garlic White Wine Sauce w/ a toasted dipping bread was something I couldn't get enough of. We couldn't part with the garlic dipping sauce so we ordered the Grilled Cajun Shrimp Skewers. The butter sauce was still looming so we had to get an extra order or bread to go!!! Went as a guest with a friend to a wedding. The area is beautiful with surrounding mountains & a small lake in the middle of the grounds. Immediate Positives: Free WIFI & delicious chocolate peanut butter cake! Overall the rooms were a little dated but clean and comfortable.Bring your own iron because they only have ONE for the entire venue. Fridge and microwave were included but no coffee maker which was odd. The restaurant on premise didn't open until 11:30am so if looking for breakfast or a warm beverage you would have to drive to the nearby Dunkin' Donuts or pack from home. By chance you do desire to order a coffee when the Tavern is open just know they do not make cappuccinos or have almond milk (womp). As a vegetarian the food selection is limited to salads and bowls of pasta. Wait staff was exceptionally kind compared. Dinner was good but for those who ate extra appetizers and couldn't finish their meal were not allowed to wrap up leftovers (bazar since people pay a fine price for each plate and should be able to get a Togo box). I guess this facility is alright for a quick getaway but It wouldn't be my first choice in the Poconos. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE AT ANY COST. First of all this place DOES NOT HAVE WI-FI but they advertise that they do have it. I went to ask the owner about the Wi-Fi and she told me as if that was always the case. So my friend later went and asked and told her that it was mentioned in the website. So the owner changed her answer saying "It's not working temporarily". We needed the wi-fi because our cellphone networks didn't work. Anyways, the owner didn't show us around the cabin, she just gave us the key and that was it. We had to find our way to the cabin, she didn't even tell us where we can park our car. We had to call and verify. She gave us no suggestions on the things and places to explore. She said breakfast will be served on Sundays alone when I asked her and we went and had to pay for the freaking breakfast. Room service and cleaning was terrible. I have the habit of making my bed so cleaning service left it just like that. Didn't replace our sheets or towel for 2 days. We didnt even know how to check out, we went to the office and no one was there and we called someone over the phone who told us to leave the key inside the house and go. Giving 2 star purely because of how bad the tavern restaurant by the lake was. Service was absolutely terrible, waitress was not properly wearing mask and had to wait over an hour for the waitress to check on us and get food. Spinach and artichoke dip tasted like soup and had to have it heated up because it was so cold while having to wait over an hour for more bread to dip in since they already give you such a small amount. All of the toilet seats were closed and had to lift them to use amidst a pandemic when people are trying to be sanitary. Forget about social distancing here because it is seat yourself and you will be surrounded by people in the packed restaurant. Other than that the cabin was pretty nice. No mini fridge tho. The breakfast place was amazing, Chick-fil-A level service. Location is pretty convenient overall for the Poconos to visit trails and other activities. read more

Had friends for weekend and wanted to get ribs. The old place we went too, Smokin Vittles, closed down but I noticed that they had a large smoker for BBQ. I called them to confirm the food that was available. So I'm convinced, head over to get food for 8 people. Waited in their line for awhile, place order, no problems. Then we wait. And wait like everyone else. Ribs finally come out, but they weren't cooked in the smoker, they were cooked inside. In fact, I'm convinced they were boiled because the meat was cooked but with no grill marks, no sauce on them, nothing. Plain, boiled meat on a rib. By the time I got these home after a 15 minute drive, they were barely warm, and I'm convinced they weren't that warm when I got them. To say I'm infuriated would be an understatement. Spent over $140 for this crap. What's worse is that they have a capture audience and are utterly blowing a great opportunity. We stayed in a cabin which was very clean and adorable. We had time to enjoy the property by walking around the beautiful lake. We had dinner at the Water's Edge we were greeted by the manager and seated immediately. The food and drinks were great. The wait staff, bartender and manager were all so attentive. We've been looking at Memorytown as a wedding venue and can't stop raving about it to our friends and family. Lisa has been so helpful, flexible and kind in helping us make this big decision! The event space is newly renovated and absolutely gorgeous. The site has several spaces for outdoor ceremonies which is great for us because we like options! We are also in love with the antique wine cellar as a cocktail reception space. We also tried the food and drinks at the tavern the other day and were just as satisfied. We used to stay here for long weekends maybe 15 years ago. We decided to stop for lunch after some shopping. Bad idea. We were the only people in there on a Saturday at 1:30 in the afternoon. I can see why. A simple order of wings and a side of fries, how tough could that be? The wings? Well, I can't prove it, but I am pretty sure that they were Tyson Anytizer (at $8.50 for 8). The fries were apparently cooked in 250 degree oil as it penetrated halfway into the fry (at $4.50 for an order?!?). A warm glass of Miller Lite ($4.00) washed it down. I guess it's hard to keep beer cold when it's 84 degrees outside and there is no air conditioning in the place. At least they made an attempt at cooling the restaurant by putting temporary screens that almost fit the windows and put a fan blowing air out of the open men's room door. This place could be a gold mine, considering the layout of the property, but instead it comes off like it is run by the Trailer Park Boys. read more

you're having an event here get everything in writing. First the wedding planner tried to tell us we skipped a payment. Then she cashed our final payment after the new pandemic guidelines were posted that interfered with our event even though she knew it would be an issue. She then tried to have our wedding outside with no tent at a different location than our contract stated. She then said there would be a tent there but refused to sign a contract saying there's be one. She ended up cancelling my wedding less than a week before the date. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Now in their below response they're denying everything. The tent was "offered" but they would not sign a contract saying it would be there. They knew all of the circumstances since April when my original date was rescheduled and yet still kept taking our money. read more

This place is the definition of "don't judge a book by its cover". The outside of most of the people could use a fresh coat of paint but the inside more than makes up for it. The cocktail hour and the reception hall were amazing! My best friend got married in a barn on the premises which was simplistic but beautiful. There was no AC however, which kind of stinks in August, but adding an AC unit would've thrown off the charm of this little ceremony. Right outside of the barn was a beautiful orchard where we took photos and then were whisked away via a tractor by one of the coolest dudes I've ever met. If you go up there, ask for Badger and do yourself a favor; talk to this man. He's awesome! The main event was thrown a little of kilter because the wedding party wanted to mingle in the cocktail hour instead of our own little hideaway. But everything got handled and we were introduced and everything went according to plan for the rest of the night. Now, their is AC in the 1 bedroom cabins you can rent but not in the 2 bedroom, which myself and 2 others shared. We were told we would get an AC unit in there but one never showed up. But we opened the windows and let the breeze in and we were fine. Also the food was a little cold but there were 4 total waiters and 2 woman making drinks all night, and they worked their asses off, so I was fine with the food. Now, this is the really cool (going the extra mile part) the bridal party had rented one of those awesome porta-johns's you see at more upscale events. There was a rodeo across the street and random people were trying to use our bathroom. After 2-3 random people used the john, the staff posted someone outside restricting anyone not associated with the wedding from using it. Very cool. Also we had a few people try to crash the wedding, and they were promptly escorted out. We didn't find out about this til the next day. The staff was on their A-game! Also, they have a little bar that usually closes around 11 that they kept open for us for an extremely long time. It was so cool, we had the place to ourselves and they were so cool about letting us celebrate the wedding for as long as we wanted to. In the morning, we were greeted by the owner and he was still super cool about everything. Was this place perfect, no. But, was this place amazing and did they do everything in their power to make my best friends wedding fantastic, YES! And can you really ask for anything more? read more

This review is for the Nightmare on Grange Road attraction. My friends and I went to this event on Sat. evening around 6:30pm. (Hours are 6-11pm). There were about 20 people in front of us in line when we got there. When talking to other people in line, we were told no one was let in the attraction yet and they were waiting since 5:45pm. A couple of women came by complaining that they were there at 5:30pm, told the attraction wasn't ready and to come back at 7pm. When they came back they had to go to the back of the line. No one was let in until about 7:30pm, then it was only 5 people. Twenty minutes later, the next group were let in - about 6 people. All this time there was a VIP line that kept jumping people in front of the regular line. So, while there we did not move up in line at all after an hour and a half. Based on the number of people waiting without the VIP line, most people in line would never make it before it closed at 11pm. We went to get refunds and they refused, calling the manager who came 15 minutes later and offered to upgrade us to VIP for an additional $10 since there were no refunds. He was belligerent and said this was how every other attraction worked. The attendant had told us there was a small crew that took the small groups through the attraction, then to an outside attraction, and had to return and reset for each group. This is why so few people were going through. Clearly they were grossly understaffed. While we argued for refunds, they continued to suggest to new people coming in that they should get the VIP pass ($35, instead of $25). This is clearly a grossly mismanaged operation intent on collecting as much revenue as possible in a short time before word got out on the scam. read more

We had attended a wedding there July 18. It was the worst event we have ever been to. There were 150 people. they made us wait over 45 minutes to go into the cocktail party. then they had one 6 foot table for the cheese and crackers for 150 guests! it was a mad house and hot as heck. They had no clean up people or an y garbage cans, the server said she was busy passing snacks and they were short staffed. we all couldn't wait to go upstairs to the reception for air conditioning. we arrived upstairs. It was cool upon arrival but soared to 93 degrees on our phones. They had a total of 5 staff for 150 guest. they forgot to bring out the champagne for the toast so the wedding couple had to toast with water. They had stated their staff had quit. The food was awful. Very very unorganized affair. It was very sad to see the wedding couple so upset with their special day that Memory town ruined for lack of professionalism and planning. You would think for a catering facility they would know how to conduct a wedding for that amount of guests. if they could not then they needed to decline the event. Shame on them. I do understand things happen as no one is perfect. but this was a perfect storm. Maybe others will have better luck as everyone makes mistakes. read more

Eat and drink are in different long lines so have one person go in the food line, one person go in the drink line an another save a table in the shade. Afterward go across the street for the show. If you are an animal activist, this is probably not the venue for you - they do NOT hurt the animals but it's still hard to watch a baby bull get roped and the 75 kids + they let into the arena scare the crap out of three sheep. We attended a wedding there this weekend and it was our first time in the area. We stayed at one of the small renovated cabins and it was clean with a comfortable bed. My only complaint was the super tiny shower... I would have given up the small closest to have a shower you could actually lean down in. I would definitely recommend a larger shower in the remainder of the renos. The venue was awesome and this resort definitely has tons of potential ahead for them. If they keep up at the current pace it should be amazing in the next few years! The one area that puzzled us was the on site bar and grill. The menu was disjointed and it was the first time I have ever been somewhere that did not offer a staple cheeseburger or chicken sandwich and the other menu items did not follow any particular theme. After a five hour drive we were too tired to go elsewhere but wish we would have had the energy too. Overall we are glad we stayed and look forward to what changes occur in the future! read more

So disappointed. My husband and I went to memory town for the barbecue and Rodeo. We said we spent $36 for food that was overcooked, overpriced, and definitely not barbecued. In fact, they didn't even have their smoker going, they were bringing the food out of the kitchen! We went inside the bar/Grill hoping to get out of the summer heat while we ate, but it was so hot as there were no air conditioning and old fans sitting on the floor attempting to circulate the stagnant air. Furthermore, table was dirty, the bathrooms would dirty, there were no napkins, no utensils, nobody even waited on us! The windows were absolutely filthy that Overlook the pond which smelled horribly. I was completely grossed out. We then ventured across the street to go to the rodeo and had to wait in a long line to get wristbands when we had already purchased our tickets online. They didn't have a separate window to check people in who already purchase their tickets, which I thought was ridiculous. What's the point of purchasing tickets online when you have to wait in the regular line to get wristbands? I've been to several rodeos and this one was less than lacking. It took forever to get started and when it finally did they did bull riding and steer wrangling and it seemed like there was a 30-minute lull where they did silly things with kids and the audience members, and then they took a break! for goodness sakes I understand having to take a break, but we weren't even there 43 minutes and most of it was silly nonsense. At that point my husband and I left. Certainly not worth the $18 per person to get in. This place may have been great in its Heyday, but it is definitely, run down, unorganized and understaffed. read more

We had traveled to the Pocono area to vacation. Memorytown USA was listed as an attraction to visit by our resort. Although we recognized that we were visiting during the off-season, we were very excited over the prospect for smoked barbecue in the restaurant. We were a party of seven and arrived during lunchtime (approximately 1pm). There was only waitress taking orders, tending bar, and closing checks. At the time of our arrival, it wasn't busy - one table of two and another table of 9. We placed our order (pulled pork and brisket sandwiches) and waited nearly 45 minutes for food that was lukewarm. As we waited the place became increasingly busy, again with only one waitress. As we waited, we enjoyed the ambiance - large fireplace, Christmas decorations and the view of the lake. However, despite the expansive, lit fireplace, the restaurant was FREEZING! The food was overpriced and underwhelming. ALL sides were extra. For example, celery and blue cheese dressing which usually automatically accompanies an order of wings was EXTRA. Further, as mentioned above it was lukewarm, at best. We will not be returning. We have since found much more charming establishments that are warmer, fairly priced and serve better quality food. read more
