Location of this place is amazing for the views you get. The food was not good. Service was just basic for what you pay to stay here. The upkeep of this place is the worse. Checkin is BUSY. They seem to be well staffed. We came in from a long drive. Checkin is at 4, we got there at 5ish. Room was not ready. We came as part of a wedding group. Informed the lady of such as we needed to get ready for rehearsal that was to start soon. She then spoke with a manager who did the inspection of the room supposedly sooner so that we can get ready. Check-out is at 11. We were told we could not request late checkout until the morning of. We called the morning of and was told we were not able to get it as the hotel was nearly fully booked. They need to prep for incoming guests. That's fine but if this is the case, I expect my room to be clean and ready at check-in time. This place is kid overload. I love the kids but this place is not really made for adults without children. Mind you, I came for the wedding and we chose what was most convenient for access to the wedding functions. I experienced this so you can know what to expect. It wasn't just that the lobby was so loud, kudos to the noise from the lobby not carrying to our 3rd floor. The noise came from the neighbors slamming doors mutiple times throughout the night and early morning and big kids running in the hallways. Inside the room: my friend felt the room smelled like urine. Dogs are allowed. I smelled cleaned and I never got the urine smell. The toilet got stopped up. It took a while to get someone up to look at it. We also reported the tub was back flowing. The maintenance guy was very nice. I asked what was in the tub and his response was, "You really don't want to know". The tub is supposed to get cleaned at least after each guest leaves so why is this not part of "the inspection"? The carpet is cut, there was sealant visible at the sink/vanity area. We noticed what look like blood stain on the curtain the day we left, both the carpet and tub are stained. Carpet definitely need to be replaced The bed was comfortable, nice size TV, and room stayes cool. The fire alarm sounded for a few hours the 2nd day there, mid morning, but was taken care of fairly quickly. The wedding venue was beautiful. The wedding was outside. We were told the bride and groom asked that we not take pictures because that's what the photographers were far. Well they did not request that. There were two photographers. They are employed by the venue. At no point should there not be a photographer present during the ceremony and the reception. During the reception, they both disappeared and part of the program had to be paused to look for them. This place gets a 2 because location is great, the mountain view is breathtaking, the pool looks great for children and it is indoors, and the size of the rooms are spacious. They also offer discounts for the excursions. As a guest of the hotel, parking is free and access to the pool area. For the amount load to stay here per night, I at least expect 4 star treatment.

3 weeks ago me and my family held our family reunion here. When we came to check in it was exhausting . We were in the line for over an hour . Some of our family 3 hours . The staff was very kind which I appreciated . But the morning of we found a roach on our counter granted it's a water park so the moistness can lead to bugs but not okay . T We went to the buffet (super expensive $27 per person ) and when we first went they didn't have signs that showed what was in what . So the eggs didn't have a sign . So I just chose whatever eggs and I have a dairy allergy . I then started to react and realized there was cheese in the eggs . The next day we came it had the signs of Whats in what . Our formal and the staff that helped our family we loved them . They were one of the best things about our trip . The indoor park was fun I enjoyed it . I wouldn't come back honestly but there were some good things about here .

Sigh i hate to write this but i must. First off my family loves Camelback! This was our third time there and the other trips were good but this one left me disappointed. We had the normal 4pm check in and arrived at 6pm from out 2 hr drive and quick dinner grab. When we got there the check in line was sooooo long and only 3 front desk people were there to assist with check in so it took at least an hour just to get to the desk. Then once we got there they had the audacity to say our ROOM was NOT READY yet!!!!!!! Like how??? It was after 6pm!!! I had to take my boys to the changing rooms in the indoor waterpark to change just so they could get some time in the waterpark!! It closes at 8:00pm!! A bit too early to me for an indoor waterpark in the summer months! I was so annoyed! Once we finally get our room around 7:30 the room was not cleaned well. I had a dirty pillow case, spots on the shower curtains and sheets. A huge red stain on the carpet. U could tell it was rushed but we waited 3 hrs for a less than clean room. In terms of Aquatopia waterpark it could use some upgrades. The little basketball water area no longer had hoops. The lazy river which is my fav attraction had little to NO floats!!!! The little they had were deflated!! How are u suppose to float down a lazy river with no floats?!?! Its like they didnt even care when i asked them about it! I am sharing this because Camelback is not cheap at all! We stayed for 2 nights costing close to $1,000 for our family suite so i kinda expect certain things to be decent at the very least. This place use to be top notch and now it seems because they know they are bringing in a lot of money they simply dont care about service and thats sad because my kids love this place. I think we are gonna take a break. If i can give one cool thing is the 8pm dance parties in the lobby for the kids! Its very cute. A live DJ and someone selling glow lights. The kids really enjoyed that. I truly hope someone from management reads this. Improving on certain things can make a huge difference.

We went here for mid winter break. It was not as crowded as I thought it was going to be. We stayed for 2 nights and also enjoyed the arcade they had there. The rooms are spacious, closet space was minimal. I would recommend if you dont want to eat at their restaurant you can door dash food to the hotel. Major plus!! Overall we had a great time here. My family loved it and I will be going back again. The outside sauna is amazing and so cozy!!! Check in was quick and easy. They even hold your belongings until the room is read

Just got back from a 3 day staff at Camelbeach, and I have mixed feelings. Our stay included the outdoor water park which was a plus, so we got to do both indoor and outdoor on separate days. The outdoor park was awesome, friendly staff, short lines. The biggest let down of that part was the absolutely disgusting bathrooms and changing areas. The food looked good, but we focused our time on enjoying the slides and most of the food places were closed by the time we were ready to go. As for the indoor park, there are not enough tubes leaving people cutting in front of you to steal tubes to go on the slides with and no regulation. The only plus were short lines. The lazy river had awesome theming, but again maybe 10 tubes? So mostly everyone was just swimming around it which is crazy to me and something I've never seen before at a water park. The overall food selection was lack luster to say the least. We waited over 30 mins for our meal at the burger place in the indoor water park, as did many others. At one point a bunch of food was piling up and no one there to dish it out until a customer said something. The swim up bar was nice and the drinks good, however, I waited over 30 mins for an espresso drink and no compensation. I guess I could've complained, but I was just annoyed and over it. At the ice cream shack inside, I tried to order a milk shake for my husband and the kid looked around and said "we don't serve milkshakes after 8pm," but then a few younger kids came in after us and proceeded to order milk shakes. Not sure what that was all about, definitely felt discrimination on that one, and was going to complain but my husband stopped me. The arcade was pretty decent and all of the staff friendly and helpful especially with some of the games that ripped us off they made it right quickly. We also got an unlimited chance to do the bowling, darts, 3d ride, bumper cars, and mirror maze which my kids enjoyed. Our room price wasn't terrible and the room ready on time. On the surface it seemed clean, but upon further inspection, there were stains on the floor, a sticky spot, graffiti under the bunk beds from prior people, and an old sock. The beds themselves were clean, so I dealt with it because I've been to worse. It's kind of ridiculous also that they charge for parking, and you really have no choice. Overall, our stay was underwhelming and probably won't be back. We've been to kalahari several times and despite it being more expensive, it is worth it.

We really enjoyed our weekend at this resort. My daughter really wanted to go to an amusement or water park to celebrate her birthday. After looking through the different parks and resorts in the Tri-state and PA area we chose Camelback because of the resort being dog-friendly which is unfortunately rare. We arrived early to make the day of the waterpark use. Didn't expect to be able to check-in early however we were greeted so warmly by the receptionist Badiyah (I apologize if I misspelled her name). She was exceptional and gifted my daughter with a small upgrade in addition to early check in. The customer service she provided really went above and beyond. The room was spacious and included 2 bedrooms, 3 beds and 3 tvs. Because we were checking in with a dog she gave us the option of a room near the pet relief area which was so thoughtful! The fridge in the room wouldn't close so it wasn't functioning well, but that wasn't a big deal because I travel with a cooler. The indoor waterpark kept the kids busy. They enjoyed the different water slides. We just wished that the one ride that goes out of the building was open. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and liked the idea of it being both in and outside of the resort. Relaxing in the jacuzzi with the view of the mountain and the cold air breeze was relaxing! The swim up bar was a plus. We even saw some deer during our evening walk! Definitely would will come back during the winter.

I had an amazing day at Camelback waterpark. I rented a cabana for the day we were on the second floor out the way we had our own private Waiters and there was no waiting in line for anything to eat or drink. I definitely recommend this for any family looking for a quick staycation.

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn other families. After driving nearly 5 hours with three small children, we arrived at Camelback excited for a fun getaway. Check-in was at 4 PM. We got there around 6 PM and were told our room was ready, only to walk into a dirty, completely unprepared room. At that point, I had to drag my kids and luggage back downstairs and start the waiting game all over again. We didn't get into a usable room until around 8 PM. That's four hours past check-in and two hours after arrival. Our entire first day was essentially wasted. And unfortunately, it only went downhill from there. The room we were finally given had no towels, missing bedding, floors that clearly hadn't been vacuumed, and dust throughout. The next day there was no housekeeping at all. We left multiple times and came back to the same trash, the same mess, and nothing touched. To make matters worse, bugs were coming out of the HVAC system, which is honestly unacceptable at any hotel, let alone a resort charging these prices. The waterpark is the only reason this isn't a zero-star review. My kids found some enjoyment, but even that area felt dirty and poorly maintained. Staff were hit or miss, with several being inattentive and some just plain rude. Yes, it was spring break, so I expected crowds. What I didn't expect was a complete lack of preparation, cleanliness, and basic hospitality. That's the difference between an average resort and one that actually cares about guest experience. For comparison, we've stayed at Kalahari Resorts, which is larger and somehow still manages to be clean, organized, and ready for guests. Camelback didn't come close. This trip was exhausting, disappointing, and a waste of money. I would not return, and I would strongly recommend families spend their money elsewhere.

Absolutely unacceptable--and honestly one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had. Do NOT stay here. A THREE-hour check-in delay with zero urgency, zero communication, and zero accountability from staff. We were left stranded with a toddler, forced to change in filthy public restrooms just to access the water park. Meanwhile, our luggage and food were taken away to storage, leaving our child hungry and us completely helpless. The water park is just as bad--disgusting, poorly maintained bathrooms and 40+ minute waits for everything. It's overcrowded, chaotic, and completely mismanaged. It only gets worse. Our luggage was somehow "lost," and we had to repeatedly chase staff just to get our belongings back. No apology, no ownership--just incompetence. When we finally got our room, it was absolutely revolting. Food all over the floor, filthy bathroom, and literal stains in the toilet. Clearly no one even bothered to clean it before handing it over. Management was useless. No room change, no real solution--just excuses about being fully booked and vague promises of cleaning "in an hour or so." In other words: take it or leave it. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my husband, and this place completely ruined it. The level of dirt, disorganization, and complete lack of care for guests is shocking. Save your money and go anywhere else. This place is dirty, chaotic, and couldn't care less about its guests.

PROS: this place is wonderful! They have skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing! Staff is friendly, many time slots available, and they have food CONS: there is no lodge to sit in and wait for your friends to be done skiing. It's overpriced as snow tubing is $90 on the weekends. OVERALL: I only recommend coming here if you don't mind spending a ton of money and if you're not going for the ski lodge

We went there this past weekend for my kids 13 birthday and brought a few of their friends. When we got there it was 2:45 and check in isn't until 4pm which we understood. The gentleman at the front desk said that they hoped that the room would be done around 4 but they were a little behind and they would text me when the room was available. He also gave me a number in which i could text about any questions I had. Around 5:30pm came and not a text about availability on the room. I text the number and didn't get a response until 6:45. Meanwhile my wife went down to the front desk and ask about there room to which they responded it was done but yet we didn't get a text saying so. Stuff happens so I let that slide. We get to the room and it was disgusting. It didn't even look like it was clean. I went down to the front desk and showed them pictures and all they said was oh we can comp you breakfast. They didn't say anything about having someone take a look at it to come clean it or anything along those lines. Thats great that they gave us breakfast but what I saw I feel like warranted a little more than just breakfast so I emailed camelback and they have yet to respond to my email. While the indoor waterpark was good and camelbeach was fun for the kids. I felt very disgusted by where i was sleeping.

easy check in modern rooms average parking ( very busy ). so much at the resort to do food water parks shopping events for kids . highly recommended for summer fun at both the indoor and outdoor water parks and relaxing comfort at the hotel

We visited this resort 2 years prior, but in winter, and what an entirely different experience! This time we have been wildly disappointed! We checked in on a Sunday night around 6:45 pm. Unfortunately, the line to check in was almost out the door. When we finally made it to an agent it was approximately 7:30. And when parents tried cutting the lines all I could think about was its lord of flies up in here. In any case, we were told by our agent, who appeared likely to break down in tears at any moment, that our room wasn't ready. So let me get this straight, we have traveled all day with kids to get here, your website says 4:00 check-in and at :730 our rooms not ready??! We finally got into our room at 8:30 but not before a good deal of intervention by my husband. Sadly the room was a disappointment! Half a roll of toilet paper and no refill in the room and 1 towel for a family of 4. My husband called housekeeping for more towels only to be told that they had no more and we'd have to wait until morning. OK?!?! Fast forward the next day we spent at camel beach and it restored our faith in this resort, we had a great time! That night exhausted but hearts happy we went to trails end for dinner and sat outside, it was lovely and even better was our server Heidi! Today we are at the indoor waterpark and being a parent that already cringes at the thought of public water sources, witnessed this front row from my chair at the wave pool. That my friends is poop! Like I get that this happens in pools where kids are going to be, but you can't unsee it! And I'm officially not going back in the water! Also attached for your viewing pleasure is the line for the only eatery in the outdoor waterpark, which began before 11. I have been standing in this lovely line for over an hour so far and still haven't ordered it's 12:53. The staff for the most part have been amazing. It's just sad that the same resort 2 years apart could be so different, and not in a good way. Based on this trip, we will not return.

This was the last stop for my Fourth of July, Happy Birthday America 250!! trip. The adventure park truly offered a variety of activities for everyone; zipling, mountain coaster, mountain bike adventure, golf, ski resort in winter, sun tubing, and anything else I missed!!! My main reason for the visit, was the mountain coaster. The mountain coaster being my 5th one, was well worth, leaving it as my last stop. The adventure itself, 4 minute ride in total; longest and fastest I've been on, once you get to the top, be prepared, because you will fly , 30 miles per hour and get the best thrill and adrenaline rush... Check out the mountain coaster, you'll be amazed . read more

SAVE YOUR MONEY -- TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT CAMELBACK! I strongly recommend that people STAY AWAY from this place, especially if you're planning a special occasion. I booked my room in advance and paid for it in full. When I arrived, I was charged a $100 incidental deposit, which I understood, and a $25 parking fee. No problem. Then I asked the front desk for a receipt for the charges that had just been made to my card. The employee initially told me I would get it at checkout. I told her, "You just charged my card, so I need a receipt now." She eventually gave me one, but the receipt only showed an $89 charge. I went to the waterpark with my family to celebrate my son's birthday. While we were there, I checked my phone and was absolutely shocked to see that Camelback had charged my card ANOTHER $418! I was furious. I had to leave the waterpark and go back to the front desk to find out what I was being charged for. And unbelievably, the employee at the front desk COULD NOT EVEN TELL ME WHY MY CARD HAD BEEN CHARGED $418! How can you charge a customer hundreds of dollars and not be able to explain the charge? This is completely unacceptable. Instead of enjoying my son's birthday and our family day at the waterpark, I had to waste my time dealing with unexpected charges and trying to get answers from the hotel. CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AND WATCH YOUR CARD VERY CAREFULLY if you stay here. Keep every receipt and question every charge. Camelback -- customers should not have to chase down the front desk to find out why hundreds of dollars were charged to their card. This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration. I will not be staying here again. read more

If I could give Camelback Resort in Tannersville, PA zero stars, I would. Our family of 13 stayed Thursday through Sunday in a three-bedroom suite, and unfortunately, the problems started the moment we arrived. Check-in took over two hours, causing the children to miss the first day of the indoor water park. We weren't provided temporary wristbands while waiting, which made the situation even worse. Our suite had a strong seafood-like odor, one bedroom's AC didn't work despite maintenance checking it, and the mattress in that room was completely sunken and uncomfortable. None of the three bathrooms were properly stocked with towels, washcloths, or toilet paper, and housekeeping took an unreasonable amount of time to respond. The dining experience was also disappointing. Our first night, the only restaurant open was closing, yet we were charged full price for limited, hard, unappetizing food. Thankfully, DoorDash saved dinner that night. Throughout the stay, dining options were limited, repetitive, and mostly buffet-style, so we eventually chose to eat off-site. The final day was the icing on the cake. We called early and were told our late checkout was approved and instructed to reactivate our wristbands. After standing in line, we were told it wasn't available. The front desk employee, Cyarah, was rude and dismissive when we explained the situation. We asked for a manager and were told none was available. Our wristbands were eventually deactivated, leaving us unable to access our room. After calling again, we were finally given only one additional hour. What makes this so disappointing is that we tried to start each day with a fresh attitude because we wanted our children and family to enjoy themselves. Thankfully, we did have some fun at the outdoor and indoor parks, but the constant issues overshadowed the trip. Every year, our family visits a different resort or park, and Camelback was by far the worst experience we've ever had. For the amount of money we spent, the experience did not come close to matching the expectations. Too many problems, too little accountability, and customer service that left much to be desired. Extremely disappointing. We will not be returning. read more

I would not return, and I would strongly recommend families spend their money elsewhere. read more

This place is dirty, chaotic, and couldn't care less about its guests. read more

OVERALL: I only recommend coming here if you don't mind spending a ton of money and if you're not going for the ski lodge read more

I felt very disgusted by where i was sleeping. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at Camelback Resort over Memorial Day weekend was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to share it. My family and I checked in on Friday and were scheduled to stay through Monday. We arrived in time for the advertised 4:00 PM check-in, only to find the resort completely overwhelmed. After waiting approximately an hour and a half, our room was not ready until nearly 6:00 PM. On Saturday, we spent the day at the indoor waterpark and rented Cabana 1. The highlight of our trip was our waiter, Andre, who provided exceptional service and was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the day. Unfortunately, the rest of the weekend took a turn for the worse. Later that afternoon, my daughter began feeling unwell and developed a fever. I went to the resort gift shop looking for children's Tylenol or ibuprofen, only to discover they carried neither. For a family-focused resort catering primarily to children, I found it surprising and concerning that basic over-the-counter children's fever medication was not available for purchase. When I asked for assistance, I was handed a first-aid packet containing aspirin, which is not something I would ever give to a child. Because my daughter's fever continued to rise, we made the difficult decision to cut our vacation short and return home that evening. Before leaving, we arranged for bell services to assist with our luggage from Room 529. I personally packed all of our belongings and helped Evan, our bell boy, load everything onto the luggage cart. Once home, while unpacking after tending to my daughter, I realized a mesh bag containing several items was missing, including my husband's Burberry swim trunks, my daughter's RuffleButts swimsuit, and her water shoes. The following day, I contacted the front desk, Lost & Found, and asked to speak to Evan at the bell services department. My information was taken, and I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. I followed up again several days later and received the same response. No manager was available, no Evan, no answers were provided, and none of our belongings were ever recovered. While losing personal items is frustrating enough, what was most disappointing was the complete lack of follow-up, accountability, or customer service. Not one person contacted me as promised. Not one manager reached out to address the situation. Between the delayed check-in, lack of basic children's medication availability, and the disappearance of our belongings followed by zero communication from management, this was not the family vacation experience we expected. I can overlook mistakes. I cannot overlook poor customer service and a complete failure to address a guest's concerns. Sadly, after this experience, I would not return to Camelback Resort. read more

On the plus side, the rooms are nice and the staff is fine. Aquatopia was fun for my young kids--similar to other waterparks we've been to in the area. We came here for the first time since we've never tried snowboarding, and thought that and the snow tubing offered something that Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge didn't have. Unfortunately, the snow tubing was horrible. We paid $304 ($76 each) for snow tubing tickets and ended up getting to go exactly twice during the two hour window allowed (after waiting more than an hour for each ride). One of the conveyor belts was broken, and for some reason we'd have to wait 5-10 minutes for them to start each ride. Just a really inefficient process. We did end up complaining and getting a refund, but having the wait in line for that long and the stress of trying to push through a disorganized line made us wish we hadn't done this. The other major point was that during the two nights we were here, the shower was cold and made the stay unpleasant. I suspect they don't have the hot water tank capacity to handle a lot of guests using it during peak times, because we texted them and they said they were aware of the problem and they were "working" on it (though it never improved during our stay). We also paid nearly $400 a night, inclusive of the resort fees, and there was no housekeeping service. Even though on the website FAQ, it said you could text or call and request daily service--when I texted they just responded it wasn't available. Which is weird--because why even publish that guests should text this request if they're just going to refuse? One other thing is that the food was overpriced and not that great, and very limited. The wood-fired pizza took an hour for our 2-pizza orders, and was about the size of a personal pizza for around $20 for each. The breakfast buffet was ok. The one thing I would warn everyone of is that they hide an 18% fee for the buffet (when I asked, the server said that was tip that was pre-added). We were just a party of 4, so it was unexpected. I almost ended up double tipping on top of that (which would have been over 40% tip on a self-service buffet). Seems pretty deceptive of the establishment, and I bet most people overlook this and end up double-tipping. read more

Based on this trip, we will not return. read more
This review is strictly for the waterpark. Some friends and I visited camelback resort for the evening hour waterpark pass. Staff were super friendly! There are a ton of slide options but prepared to wait in long lines. One of the workers told us this was a slow day, so I can't imagine going during peak hours. As the evening went on, lines died down and we were able to get on all the slides. We thought the waterpark was kept nice and clean. Def plan to come back to check out night snow tubing. read more

We just got back from a six-day ski trip. We stayed at this resort two years ago and had a great experience, which is why we chose to return. Unfortunately, this stay was very disappointing. Check-in was at 4:00 PM, but even though we arrived slightly early just in case, our room was not ready until after 5:00 PM--and only after we complained multiple times. We were initially told that rooms are pre-assigned and cannot be changed, yet after speaking with a manager, our room was changed anyway. The hotel also refused to hold our luggage until we had a room, leaving us sitting in the lobby with five suitcases and three children. When we finally got to the room, it smelled strongly of wet dog/ mildew . We used the text request system , as they asked us to ,to ask for pillows, blankets for the pullout couch, and room spray, but received no response. After speaking with housekeeping, we were told the items would be brought, but nothing arrived. Two hours later, we found another housekeeping staff member who eventually came to the room--only to deliver two towels and one blanket, and told us to go to the front desk for the rest. We went to Trails End for dinner around 5:30 PM and were quoted a 45-minute wait, which turned into over an hour and a half. Once again, we had to be persistent just to find out when our table would be ready. The food was about what we expected based on our experience with the resort so far. When we returned to the room around 9:00 PM and attempted to shower, there was no hot water. Through the text system, housekeeping said the hot water system was down for the entire hotel, but the front desk told us the lack of hot water was due to everyone showering at the same time. On our third day, we called to request housekeeping service and specifically told them we would be out of the room with our children for several hours. We were assured the room would be cleaned. However, we returned from skiing to find the room still not cleaned--and once again, no hot water. We went to the front desk to ask about the lack of housekeeping and were then told that cleaning is only done between 4:00-6:00 PM, and that housekeeping should have informed us of this. We said that was fine and took the kids out to dinner so housekeeping could come. When we returned around 7:00 PM, the room still had not been cleaned. We spoke with the front desk manager, Ben, who promised the room would be cleaned the next day. We left and returned later, only to find it still had not been cleaned. We went back to the front desk and waited again to speak with Ben. Throughout our stay, we were consistently given the runaround by both staff and management. No one followed through on what they said they would do, and we had to ask multiple times for even basic requests--often without success. On top of all of this, the rooms were extremely dirty and outdated, with a strong mildew smell and dust everywhere. Our bathroom also had blackish mildew/mold throughout the shower that came off when touched. Overall, we are extremely disappointed and unfortunately won't be back, which is sad because the grounds are beautiful. This review comes from a family that travels every few months. read more
Camelback Resort in Tannersville, PA has plenty to do, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the indoor waterpark, arcade, and all the activities around the property, there's always something to keep everyone entertained. For a resort, the steakhouse is surprisingly good definitely one of the better dining options on-site. Prices can be on the higher side, which is expected at a resort, but it's something to keep in mind when planning your stay. Overall, it's a nice place to bring the family for a night or two if you're looking for a quick getaway with plenty to do. read more

Worst front desk service I have ever had. 1 hr to check in despite the line not being long. my kids and I went here for a quick, fun getaway, which turned out to be anything but. We rode the mountain coaster and I advise you to think twice and three times before you decide to do this. At no point during the pre-ride instructions do they inform you that there is a possibility that a car could stop dead on the track through no fault of the driver, but that's exactly what happened to my son's car. Because I have awareness, I stopped behind him to figure out what went wrong. The girl behind me did not stop, or even slow down and slammed directly into the back of my car, which then sent me careening into my son. the impact was shocking and incredibly painful. I saw a medic who cleared me for whiplash, but both my kids were traumatized seeing me get hurt, and very upset by this "accident." LET ME REPEAT THEY DO NOT AT ALL MENTION THIS IS A POSSIBILITY. But I signed a waiver, so they get to do nothing by it. This happened almost right when we got there and definitely sucked the fun right out of our trip. read more

This entire trip was a nightmare. I'm honestly surprised this resort has such high reviews because our experience was incredibly disappointing from start to finish. We arrived at 3:00 p.m. and waited in the front desk line until nearly 3:50 p.m. Check-in was supposed to begin at 4:00 p.m., but our room wasn't ready until 5:00 p.m. After finally getting our room, we had to stand in another line for about 40 minutes just to activate our wristbands. The wristbands look like hospital bracelets and have to be worn the entire stay since they can only be removed by cutting them off. When we finally got into our room, it was far from clean. There were stains on the carpet and curtains, splatter marks on the headboards, and cobwebs with dead spiders in the bathroom. Even more concerning, the smoke detector was covered with plastic and tape. We reported it to management, and they said they had no idea it had been covered. The air conditioner was extremely loud and constantly made a clicking noise every time it turned on and off. The furniture was outdated, and overall the room felt poorly maintained. To make matters worse, our room was on the opposite side of the resort, making for a very long walk to everything. The indoor waterpark was also disappointing. It didn't feel very clean, with hair on the floors, dirt, Band-Aids, and other questionable debris throughout the area. The lazy river became frustrating because guests would repeatedly ride it for long periods while others waited, leading to people competing over the limited number of tubes. Dining options were surprisingly limited. During the summer, only two restaurants inside the resort (outside of the pool areas) were open, and they didn't open until between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., leaving very few lunch choices. The arcade was another letdown. Many games were out of order, and the pricing felt excessive. The only attraction we really enjoyed was the 7D Dark Ride, but paying around $40 each time for a four-minute virtual experience seemed unreasonable. The arcade prizes were also underwhelming. Cell phone service was nearly nonexistent throughout the resort. That may have been due to the mountain location, but it's something to be aware of. One thing that wasn't clearly explained is the "2 Parks, 1 Stay" offer. You're only permitted to visit the outdoor waterpark once during your stay (Monday through Friday). One day the park was closed because of fog, and the next day it was so cold that the water was nearly unbearable. Also, towels are not provided at the outdoor waterpark, so be sure to bring your own. On top of that, several activities in the arcade area require closed-toe shoes with a back strap--not exactly something most people think to pack for a waterpark vacation. The positives were that the majority of the staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was decent. However, at around $100 for a family of four, I didn't think it offered good value. Overall, we won't be returning. Maybe we're just not a waterpark family, but this resort has a lot of room for improvement. Better housekeeping, updated rooms, more dining options, and clearer communication about amenities and policies would have made for a much better experience. read more

They make it easy to pay for everything and take your money, but very difficult to resolve any issues. None of the different groups communicate or share the same system, so getting anything addressed is a mission. 0 stars -- Extremely disappointing and awful, dirty, stressful experience for lodging at Aquatopia on March 30, 2026. I've stayed at Camelback Resort / Aquatopia several times before and always had great experiences, which made this visit even more shocking. I booked a one-night stay months in advance (back in November) to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I arrived around 12:30 PM on March 30, 2026, with six children and was told I'd receive a text when our room was ready. That text never came. Around 5:00 PM, I checked in again and was told the room would be ready in 10 minutes. I went up about 35 minutes later--only to find the room hadn't been cleaned at all. I then received a check-in confirmation text at 6:31 PM, but the room was still dirty. I went back to the front desk, waited again, and was told we were now "top priority" and should go to dinner while they finished preparing the room. After returning around 9:30 PM, the room still wasn't ready, and no one could give me a clear timeline. By 10:00 PM, we were essentially told to just keep waiting--with six kids and no place to go. To make matters worse, there was little to no urgency or accountability from management. The front desk employee was kind but clearly overwhelmed, and it was obvious this situation was bigger than her. There were multiple families in the lobby in the same situation--waiting late into the night with children and no rooms available. I also saw many families leaving with their suitcases. At that point, with no clean room, no answers, and no safe or reasonable option, I made the difficult decision to leave and drive two hours home late at night with six children. My daughter's birthday celebration was completely ruined. I also reached out to the resort via Instagram the following day (and again the day after, and again today), shared photos, and left my contact information--but received no response, other than an DM on Instagram stating I will be contacted. I have also left reviews from their survey, as well as sent an email last night, still no response. Beyond the inconvenience, this raises serious concerns about cleanliness and overall management. Being given a dirty, unprepared room at that hour is unacceptable. I am still waiting for: Anyone to contact me from Camelback! Also, I am requesting a full refund and clear communication from management as well as them accepting accountability for how this situation was handled. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially for what was supposed to be a special occasion. I truly hope the resort takes steps to improve both their operations and customer service moving forward. I also hope they make it right for my family. read more

I write this review knowing it's a destination resort and everyone goes for the mountain or water park. But. We arrived to mayhem in the front of cars parked sideways and across all lanes and rude attendants. If that was not bad enough the garbage cans were overflowing foreshadowing our stay. Check in and out was horrible. Long lines with not enough staff. As we walked to our room and everytime we walked down the hall the odor of burnt marijuana filled the building. Once inside the room we noticed the disrepair of the tiles and pant and molding and furniture. Upon checking in our rooms sliding door was unlocked which could have welcomed unwanted visitors glad we checked. Looking at the full coffee pot of maybe month old coffee wasn't a welcomed sight. The water park was fun and had a lot of attractions. The wave pool was nice until someone pooped in it. Snow tubing was nice but unorganized with tubes all over the place forcing you to drag your tube over 50 unused ones. Very dangerous. All in all it was not a great stay and we are going to look at the surrounding resorts going forward. read more

Camelback poconos is a complete disaster from the moment you walk through the entrance. We were met with an exceptionally long line to check into the hotel. Soon realized that it was long because it took upwards of 25-30 minutes to check in a single guest. The line didn't move a solitary inch for over 30 minutes despite 3 agents checking people for in. After standing in line over 90 minutes to even check in, we proceeded to our room past the filthiest hotel that I have ever seen. There was trash everywhere and staff walked right by it as it was normal and just a natural part of the decor. Most of the trash stayed in its "natural" location throughout our 3 days there. There was a turd on the main stairway leading to the room a Q-tip on the final hallway leading to our room and a bag from potato chips in the window of the 3rd floor stairwell all of which are just a few examples of trash that stayed in the same place for the 3 days we were there. To be clear these are just 3 examples out of a list that could include hundreds. Literally staff walked right by all of these like they were normal. The room was absolutely disturbing. Carpet contained a multitude of stains of uncertainty origin. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Mildew and mold everywhere, hair all over the shower and the room reeked of mildew and armpit. Going to skip the water park except to say - also gross throughout. Decided to check out early for all the above reasons. On our way out we waited at the elevator for 4-5 door cycles because the elevator would naturally go to people waiting on the 6th floor and pick up others on the way down. Would fill up before reaching us and would have to wait again. The annoyance with this is that we were first in line for an available lift however a bell staff jumped the line and took the elevator in front of us knowing full well that we had been waiting there well before he was. This place is an absolute dump. RUN!!!!!!! read more

Very expensive especially the restaurants. We went there for our 27 year wedding anniversary; Aquatopia was over crowded and the dog food they serve was very pricy. The water was murky and lots of debris at the bottom of the wave pool. The rooms were very well weathered and not clean. The linens and towels were satisfactory thank G-d. Once and done would not stay here again i could have stayed two weeks at a luxury chalet for the same price as my 3 day stay there. Disappointment is too light a word. Low customer service is the rule and not the exception. Same goes for the ski ticket counter not worth the price. Ski elsewhere and send a clear message to this run down outdated dingy ski resort. They have lost sight of there .mission statement. While they have a new GM I think the rooted low customer service culture will drown him. read more

Walking into the resort felt very welcoming, staff were very friendly and approachable, the atmosphere was friendly and accepting there are so many things to do and experience i had a good time exploring the resort! But unfortunately I had a very disappointing experience with housekeeping during my stay. Despite requesting room cleaning assistance multiple times over the course of two days, my room was never properly cleaned even with multiple attempts of calling the front desk and using the number provided to address any needs during my stay (which would unsubscribe me whenever i stated my issue wasn't resolved) When staff finally came by, they simply threw fresh towels on a table and left without addressing the condition of the room. The room remained dirty, and it was frustrating to repeatedly ask for help without receiving the service that should be expected. Unfortunately, this lack of attention to cleanliness and guest requests significantly impacted my stay. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests. read more

My family and I drove 12 hours to get to the Poconos because it is world renowned for being a beautiful place. Had a room reservation for a queen ADA accessible room, on arrival, was informed that there were no accessible rooms remaining. And that we had to take a regular room, and they will try to switch us out in the morning. OK. That was fine. Then was informed that even though a reservation was checking in at 4 PM, and we didn't arrive to the hotel until very late, our room was not ready. It had to be prepared. So we were told it would take some time for housekeeping to go prepare their room for us. About 30 minutes later, we were informed that our room was ready. We get up to the room, and this is what we find. Multiple species of bugs, flying around the room, crawling around the room bugs on the mattress bugs in the sink bugs on the walls bugs literally everywhere. Lifted up the sheets bugs under the sheets. I initially called the manager. I asked the manager to come and see the room for herself, so when she heard me say the word infestation, she knew I wasn't being dramatic. Liliana told me that she was unable to leave the desk and that she will send up Maintenance. I informed her that wouldn't be good enough, I needed her to see the room for herself. So she said she would grab Maintenance and come up. Upon arrival, she was very cold and nonchalant. She did say sorry for the inconvenience, but she was not apologetic or understanding. I said "this room was not ready when we got here, you said it had to be prepared for us. It saddens me that this is how highly you thought of us, that our room was repaired for Forrest full of bugs. She said "well, I'm sorry, but this is the only one we have on site. All of our other rooms are sold out. So you can wait while Maintenance cleans this room for you. We did not wait to have a bug infested room cleaned. We left. This was an absolutely horrible experience. No offer to make it right, no offer for restitution. No offer for a future stay. Justin "OK well here's your money back for the room. Have a good night." her attitude was so poor, that I can only draw two conclusions. Either this is normal for them, or she legitimately just did not care whatsoever. Either way, both were absolutely unacceptable. read more

Let's start by saying yes, it is President's Day weekend and Camelback Ski slopes are understaffed, poorly managed, overcrowded and a nightmare to get in and out of the resort. Booking ski lessons for my children a month in advance as I understand the resort will be busier than usual, seemed like a planning win. The reservation confirmation sent stated that guest should arrive an hour earlier, so we arrived at the base of the mountain by 11:30 in a car for the children's 12:45 lessons. We have an hour and fifteen minutes grace period. This is where the story begins! We spent the better part of 45 minutes in the car to trail up to the parking lot where we were greeted by parking attendants who stated the lots were full and to go to the base of the mountain to park. We were at the base and we were sent up the mountain by police officers refusing to let us park where we were now being sent to park! Lovely! My husband dropped us off as he attempted to make his way down the mountain. Well, we had to retrieve our tickets from the kiosk machines, that didn't work, nor had tickets. Nor could I retrieve my tickets as their internet and the phone internet were non existent. We waited on line afterwards for helmets and boots. All good. Still making good time. Now we are online for skis. Well, they were out of skis. And we are waiting in line for a good portion of a half hour to now be at 1:00pm. Past the time of the ski lesson start time of 12:45. I called an attendant from the lesson crew who sent me back with an employee to ask those who were online for the 12:45 lessons be moved forward. Needless to say, that created an uproar with the other guests who had been waiting. I demanded management where initially I was told that no "rebates" only rescheduling will be honored. That is when I created a commotion. Needless to say, I will never be coming back. I will not patron in the future. My children lost their lessons and I did get a refund. But warning to the rest of you with families, stay away! Hours of my life that I will never get back! read more

No no no no no. Crowded. Outrageous. 3 hour wait for ski rentals. Crowded. Did I mention crowded? I can't ever ever again. No redeeming quality. Sorry. I have never left a bad review. I literally left before skiing. I gave up. Nicest workers. They can't be blamed. Just too crowded. 3 hoursssss!! I needed a sedative after leaving. read more

Let me start off by saying this is one of the most crazy situations I've ever seen.. my wife and children were assaulted by a drunk man at the resort while in line for a water attraction.. my wife and 3 of our kids we're in line for over an hour. This gentleman goes from the back of the line and cuts in front of everyone and my wife ask the lifeguard how does he get to jump up front, well the lifeguard is starting to explain to my wife that this gentleman purchased a float pass this guy starts telling my wife to mind her own bleeping business and called her a fat bleep. He continued to disrespect and call my wife all kinds of names in front of my children to the point we're all of my children were in tears my oldest ran away screaming. This man then decided to bend down in my youngest daughter's face who is three mind you and tell her that her mommy is a whore.. not once not twice but three times then decides to call his drunk wife over to try to beat my wife up. Mind you this whole time my wife is kept her mouth shut and hasn't said anything other than you need to stop speaking to me like that in front of my children. Security finally comes over deescalate the situation taking the man away from the situation well needless to say the man and his wife slip past security and come over anthro alcoholic beverages on my whole family. My three-year-old daughter was covered from head to toe my wife had it in her face and my two boys also had their whole body covered. I went upstairs to speak to the manager after I was told what happened. When I go upstairs the guy who was running his mouth to the police officer so I stepped up and said something because everything he said was a lie. He not only try to physically assault me in front of the police officer but also admitted to throwing drinks at my family. Call my wife a fat bleep, told me both of my sons were little bleeps, and my daughter was a sl**. The man then got arrested. At this point the manager on duty took us to the concierge area and told us that she was just bringing us up here to file the police report and that we could go back to swimming as soon as we were finished. The manager on duty said that we did nothing wrong and handled it the best she's ever seen. The two men in charge of security also stated that they witnessed this assault and that my wife was not in the wrong. Needless to say after all of this my wife files the police report and the cop disrespected her and told her that she did not care about our children because she didn't run away. This officer also told her that she was in the wrong for telling me what happened and quote involving me in her "drama". This police officer must have been having the worst day in the world and I find it crazy that he spoke to her that way only when I was not around as soon as I walked back up his whole demeanor changed. There were six witnesses to this whole thing that actually made statements not to mention the hundred other people that saw it. All of these witnesses said that my wife did nothing wrong was assaulted and disrespected. There was one lady who made a statement that my wife started it mind you this lady was with his party drinking with him at the bar. After all was said and done we we're told by the manager on duty that we needed to leave. Now the issue that I have is that my family was assaulted my children were disrespected and my daughter has now since been locking doors so that "the bad man" can't get her or hurt her mommy. This is not how business is ran whatsoever. I find it completely ridiculous that my family was made to leave even though we were not in the wrong we were told we were not in the wrong by everyone involved and the cameras show the same thing.. so now I spent all of this money to take us on our first family vacation and this is the memory that my family has to live with. I get to explain to a little girl that the reason we had to leave the pool is because sometimes the world isn't fair. How do you explain that to a little girl my two boys are a little older and can kind of understand the situation. I also have to comfort My not only heartbroken wife but the mother of my children and explain to her that she did nothing wrong. I just cannot believe that this happened. It's a shame to spend over $1,000 in two days and then be treated like this. And then have the manager tell me when we were leaving that we weren't in the wrong and couldn't explain to me why we had to leave.. you all should be ashamed of yourselves you allowed my wife and children to be victimized in your establishment. Then victimized us all again by making us leave and didn't even have the decency to offer a refund. Do yourselves a favor and take your money elsewhere. Just from the way management is ran it's not worth your stay not to mention the soaking wet carpets in the rooms the dirty bathrooms, the poop stains in the toilet, and the lack of blankets for the pull-out couch it is not worth it. read more

My family and I just came back from a 4 day, 3 night vacation. The drive from Long Island was a snap. Door to door it was just under 2 and 1/2 hours. Everything was spot on for the most part. Very clean parks and rooms (not a hint of trash anywhere), and very friendly people. Here's my Pro/Con list: Pro's: - Great value! - Prices in-line with what you'd expect. - Comfortable room. 2 queen beds and a pull out couch which can be a 3rd bed. Simple to sleep 6+ in a single room. - WiFi (See my comments on this also below.) - Amazing selection of water rides for every age - Location - Local shopping nearby and lots of local places to eat (Pizza, Chinese, Friendly's, etc.) - Impeccable room service - Maybe it was the time of year we went, however the lines were nearly non-existent. We went down a slide, and then took our same tube back up. If we waited for anything, it was 3-4 minutes tops. - If you have a food allergy or are celiac, there are TONS of options! The staff went out of their way to make sure that my kids were safe and had plenty to eat! - Hemisphere's buffet for breakfast is AMAZING! - Shuttle between the hotel and Camelbeach every 15 minutes. Drivers are safe, conversational, and funny. Make sure you tip them a dollar or two, they are worth it! - Lifeguards are young, however they are VERY attentive and on top of the game. (They let you have fun, but they are also very concerned about your safety!) - Tubes and mats were all in really good, like new condition. No problems with any equipment. - TV was decent with some local and cable channels. (Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel for the kids.) Cons: - Yes, the sink outside the bathroom in the room is an interesting design choice, but it's also not my house. - The lighting in the room is indeed pretty dark. No nightlights for kids. We wound up leaving the bathroom light on with the door closed 1/2 way to make the kids feel comfortable. - Make sure you read the coupon book. It's not as giving as you think it would be. There's hefty restrictions on the coupon use. (Trails End coupons end at 4pm, and the free starter is only good for a single item since no other starters are under $10.00.) - The pottery attraction inside is a good idea, however it's very expensive. Most of the smaller pieces are $20-30 each. If you have a little artist, then perhaps it's worth it. However with 3 kids which would just slather paint on something, the $100.00 is probably best spent elsewhere. (There should be good options in the $10-12 dollar range here too outside of a letter which is the size of a quarter.) - Maybe it was just me, however I had eaten at Trails End twice and had gotten sick twice. (No one else in my family was affected.) - The WiFi signal to each room is strong, however the resort doesn't have the bandwidth to handle the needs of their guests. For sending a quick e-mail or text message it's good, however trying to have the kids use their iPad's for a YouTube video, etc., was terrible. If you need to do any business that requires VPN connectivity, make sure that you have your own personal hot-spot, since the packet loss is about 40%. (I tested this in different parts of the hotel. It wasn't just around my room.) Overall, I can't wait to go back!!! read more

I just would like to start off that I am a return guest and believe that this is my fourth time at the resort. My family and I choose to come here over the other indoor water parks because we all love what it has to offer over the others ( Kalahari & Great Wolf ) as well as the atmosphere. I can say that our current stay was very disappointing , we don't ski so we stay inside the resort mainly for the indoor water park. I will give a breakdown of the what my concerns and/or complaints are. Water park -The water park was definitely not up to standards as far as cleanliness , while swimming in the pools there were multiple used band aides that were laying on top of the rocks along the waters edge, clearly they were there for a while because they were dried out and they were located there as the park opened. The hot tub was completely closed and not all the water slides were operating, very disappointing considering this was a busy weekend due to most schools being on winter break. - employees do go around picking up trash and cleaning off tables but in doing so threw out food that we had not finished eating, very frustrating considering the prices you pay for food and drinks, $8.00 for a hot dog... ouch, - food and drinks are grossly overpriced and sub-par, went to the bar and ordered two mixed drinks, $41.39. If you are there with hungry children, which I'm sure you will be, it will get very expensive. The resort does not have adequate dining options for dinner either, almost impossible to make a reservation at Trails End restaurant , went down there at 5 pm and I was advised to get on the list and my table would be ready at 9 pm, obviously not going to work with three young children. The Hemispheres restaurant was only open for breakfast , which also did not have the omelet station that we were used to. The coffee shop in the morning had a line out the door, with an end game of $14 for a coffee and bagel! This was very disappointing and was the first time I ordered takeout from a local restaurant ( Barley Creek ) and we ate in our room. The food was excellent, much more reasonably priced , and was 5 min up the road, would highly recommend. The bottom line is that the resort is failing as far as dining options, a resort this size needs to be well equipped to handle its guests needs, most guests including myself don't like leaving for dining options. While at the resort and talking with other guests this was a big issue. Resort- hand sanitizer stations were everywhere but none had any sanitizer and were not in working order. - snow tubing was included for guests in years past and now it's not, inquired about it and it was going to be $ 185 plus tax for five people . This was for a two hour block. I am a realist and do understand the times and cost increases but for a family to come to this place for a weekend comes with a substantial price and do believe that there are better options out there. The resort is charging and money grabbing everywhere, parking fees, charging gratuities on all food and drink purchases, over priced food and drinks, etc. I would recommend doing some research on other options for you family, I don't think we will be returning. read more

We just came back from three days/two nights at the hotel and water park. First I have to say, my two boys (ages 11 and 8.5) would give it a hundred stars, they loved it so much!!! It really was a fantastic trip, but there were a few reasons I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5. It didn't start well, because our room wasn't ready until almost 6pm which was very annoying!!! First of all, you have to wear this super annoying wrist band the ENTIRE time you're there, and it's really uncomfortable. They NEED to make a band that you can take on and off so you don't have to sleep with it!! Or at least make it less cheap and more comfortable!! Next, not unexpectedly, the food costs are quite high. Especially for the food inside the water park area, very expensive and not very tasty. Plus they really need to have a "Drink All Day" refillable cup because there are no refills and a large drink is $3.99! However, you can bring your own water/food and keep it in a locker ($12.00 for a large size) so that would have been beneficial and I'll definitely do that next time. The buffet dinner was great though, and reasonably priced - it's a shame that they don't offer lunch!! Finally the prices for the games in the arcade are outrageous!!! It's $2.00 to play most games, and they last for ten seconds sometimes!!!!! Crazy!!!!! Way too pricy! Plus (minor gripe) the cranes are totally unwinnable which had my younger son in tears. All in all, though, the water park itself is fantastic and we loved every minute of the wave pool, the slides and the hot tub!! But, they need MORE TUBES!!!! They need more tubes in the wave pool and more tubes in the lazy river! The attendant at the lazy river should be actively collecting empty tubes into the entrance lake but they don't, so you have to wait until one floats by, which takes too long!!!!! The room was clean and large and comfortable!!! We didn't wind up going to the outdoor water park, but if you plan to go, bring your own towels because they don't supply them and you can't bring the hotel towels!!! I think it's so strange for a water park not to supply towels but I guess I'm comparing them to Disney (although the prices for the hotel room were comparable to a high end Disney resort!!!). We are definitely going to go back. This time however, I'll make sure to ask the person working at check in to give me BACK my driver's license because she didn't return it to me and I didn't notice. They had it for three days and didn't deliver it to my room and I'm LUCKY I tried to use my credit card to buy doughnuts before we left because they asked for ID which made me realize it was missing!!! ANNOYING! They should have returned it to me and I'm really happy I didn't drive all the way home without it!!! Their wifi was slow and horrible, and my verizon wifi barely worked which didn't make my kids happy at night when they wanted to be on their ipads!! Just FYI!!! read more

Headline: Filthy Hygiene, Zero Security, Horrific Housekeeping, and Complete Disregard for Paying Guests We stayed at Camelback Resort for 3 nights and 4 days as a family of five. From start to finish, the entire stay was an absolute disaster and deeply frustrating. 1. Shockingly Unsanitary Waterpark Conditions The indoor waterpark was disgusting. Even though the park was not overcrowded, the wave pool was filthy. There were large clumps of hair, used band-aids, and visible trash floating all over the water. Basic hygiene and sanitation standards were completely ignored. 2. Incompetent Housekeeping & Deprived of Basic Amenities We officially booked and checked in as a party of 5 in a room equipped with double bunk beds. Yet, from day one, we were only provided with 3 towels. We requested extra towels, but no one ever brought them. I had to wander the hallways myself to track down a housekeeper just to get towels for my family. On our second day, before heading to the waterpark, I specifically requested room service/cleaning: fresh mattress covers, clean blankets, 5 fresh towels, and extra toilet paper. When we returned, nothing had been cleaned. The mattress covers and blankets were untouched, no toilet paper was restocked, and they only left 3 towels once again. For a resort charging premium rates, this level of basic housekeeping failure is unacceptable. 3. Security Issues and Traumatized Children Around 5:00 PM on our second day, someone violently banged on our door and ran away. I let it slide, assuming it was kids playing pranks. However, at 8:45 PM that night--after an exhausting day when my kids were already fast asleep in bed--someone aggressively hammered on our door again. The violent banging startled my youngest child awake, leaving them terrified, crying, and panicked that someone was trying to break into our room. 4. Apathetic Front Desk & Total Lack of Accountability I went to the front desk to formally complain, but the staff was visibly annoyed, completely insincere, and treated me like a nuisance. When I asked specifically how they would handle the situation and ensure our safety, they offered zero answers and simply told me to "go back to the room and wait," saying they would notify security. Throughout the rest of our 3-night stay, I continuously texted customer support. They initially ignored my messages, later claimed they would escalate it to a supervisor, and then completely ghosted me. No follow-up, no apology, and no resolution whatsoever. Camelback Resort charges exorbitant rates while providing substandard sanitation, non-existent security, abysmal housekeeping, and absolute contempt for its guests. They take your money and abandon you the moment you check in. I am escalating this formal complaint through multiple consumer protection channels. Do not waste your hard-earned money here. read more

We stayed there for the first time and had an absolutely amazing weekend. Aquatopia is insanely fun for both the kids and the adults. A couple of issues that have been mentioned in previous reviews that should be spoken to here - yes, there is a charge to park. There is also a mention of that charge on the website, in the confirmation emails we received, and the Reservations agent was sure to mention it too, so anyone who is still complaining about that...well, read the emails, I guess. Some reviews have complained about the clientele. That's not the Resort's fault, and hey, it takes every kind of people, guys. Some of the rides were closed due to staffing issues, but that did not in any way detract from the fun the kids had. The only criticism I share with previous reviewers is the price of the meals. Breakfast buffet is 14 bucks per child, and I don't know about you, but my kid would probably eat 50 cents worth of eggs and a glass of milk. We opted for the café instead, and I saw most people do the same - I bet if they lowered the restaurant prices they might actually make more $$ from more people utilizing it. The room was very nice but chances are you won't spend much time in them other than sleeping. I can't speak for other times of the year, but in this month (October) they scheduled so many one-off activities for the kids, we didn't know which to do first. Lines for the slides ranged from walk-right-up to 15 minutes, not bad. A funny note, the poor pool attendants look so bored (that's not a criticism - this describes most lifeguards if you think about it), and while we there the fire alarm went off in Aquatopia. It perked them up real quick! They probably had more excitement in ten minutes than the last four weeks combined. Pro-tips for you: the Aquatopia wristband is also good the day you check out. Get yourself up, car packed, checked out, and down to the waterpark the moment it opens that day (for us it was 10AM) and the place will belong to you and 50 other people for about 2 hours. We had no waits in any lines that whole time. And take advantage of that day, we stayed well into the afternoon. Also, the day you check in, even if your room is not ready, you can get your wristbands and start using the waterpark. Definitely find chairs and stake your claim! The chairs get spoken for pretty quick, and when guests leave, they don't take their towels, so chairs that should be available, don't look as though they're available. If you don't see ones by the Wave Pool, keep walking around the water park, there's other chairs and table out and about. Our son stayed in the Wave Pool most of the time, so we needed to claim chairs there, but if you have older kids you can get them anywhere. This place is pretty sweet, we'll be going back again. read more

We wanted to love it but were unable to. Let's start by saying that Aquatopia and snow tubing were the only saving grace of this trip for my sons birthday. We arrived at the resort early since we knew we had access to the water park on day of check in. Check in process was smooth and we headed to the waterpark. It's now almost 4:30 pm and no text saying that our room is ready. I proceeded to the front desk and was informed that because we booked a larger room it would take a little longer, that should have been my first red flag but I did not think much of it as a manager overheard the conversation and gave us late check out as compensation. It is now 5:15 pm and finally get the text that our room is ready, kids were excited, we get to the room and it was a loft room, not what I booked so back to the front desk I go. At the front desk I explained what was happening, the clerk went to speak with a manager and returned telling me that they did not have the room type I booked available. I had booked a 2 bedroom family suite. Their fix was to give me a downgraded 1 bedroom family suite. Downgrading customers from what they paid for is not good customer service!!! There were red stains on the floor of the room that we stayed in. Almost looked like someone spilled fruit punch and it was never cleaned properly. Fast forward to the next day, we return from spending the morning at Aquatopia we enter the room only to find a few brown flying bugs on the ceiling of our room. On top of all of this I had cancelled a trip on 2/4 due to scheduling conflict. I had to call several times about my refund. I was told 15 days, ok no problem. Never received the refund. It was until I called again multiple times in the same day 3/6 that they finally processed my refund. Customers should not have to demand a refund of money that is rightfully theirs, it should have been handle the day the cancellation took place. An actual person would never answer the phone, every time I called the billing department my only option was to leave a message. At no point in time did anyone ever call me to resolve the issue even after leaving a message asking for a supervisor to return the call. I was only ever met with an email sending me an invoice for the cancelled trip. Since this seems to be the way the operate I am sure I will only receive a generic response on here. All in all we were disappointed in our trip and wish it would have went smoother. Thankfully the birthday boy was too happy with the water park to understand any other craziness that Mom was dealing with on the back end. read more

One of the most disappointing vacation experiences my family has had. To begin, the check-in process took over 45 minutes and appeared disorganized. The sliding doors at the entrance were broken for the duration of our stay, which was especially difficult while managing luggage and two young children. This immediately set a negative tone for our visit. I also paid an additional fee for an upgraded room with a balcony and a promised scenic view. Instead, we were given a room overlooking a parking lot, partially blocked by a large wall. This was not what was advertised or what I paid extra to receive, and it was extremely disappointing. My most serious concern involves a snow tubing incident. After the "go" signal was given, two older teenagers collided into my 5-year-old daughter. She injured her nose and is still sore from the incident. While we are thankful nothing was broken, this situation was frightening and could have been much worse. Given the cost of the activity, one would reasonably expect proper rules, supervision, and staff intervention to ensure safety for all, especially children. There appeared to be very little effort to control unsafe behavior, which raises significant concerns. Additionally, housekeeping fell well below expectations. The room was not thoroughly cleaned, basic items such as toilet paper and facial tissues were not restocked, and the bathroom was not properly maintained. Parking was another issue. Since daily parking fees are charged, I expected adequate and accessible parking. On Saturday, it took an excessive amount of time to find a spot, and parking was not conveniently located near our building. Lastly, interactions with front desk staff were disappointing and subpar at best. When I asked about children's activities such as arts and crafts, I was handed a paper with a QR code. When I asked for clarification, I was told it was "not my problem." This lack of knowledge and customer service was frustrating and unacceptable. Overall, this experience fell far short of expectations, particularly given the cost. Between the safety issues, room misrepresentation, poor service, and lack of coordination, I do not feel comfortable recommending this resort to others. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as there are several areas that clearly need improvement. read more

Worst spring break vacation I recently stayed at Camelback Resort and unfortunately had one of the worst vacation experiences. Check-in is listed as 4:00 PM. We arrived around 5:00 PM, expecting our room to be ready, but were told to wait another 30 minutes. After finally getting into the room, we found it was completely unacceptable. The floors were dirty, there was visible dirt under the beds, the bathroom tub was unclean, and overall it looked like the room had not been properly cleaned at all. To make matters worse, we are a family of seven and were given only one towel. I immediately went to the front desk to report the condition of the room and the lack of basic supplies. Instead of resolving the issue, we were given game cards as a "complimentary" gesture, which did not address the actual problem. After leaving for breakfast and returning, nothing had changed. The room was still dirty, and we still had no towels. I went back to the front desk again and was told they were "behind" and to give them more time. The next day, we called hospitality requesting towels, and toilet paper. Only tissues were delivered no towels. We had to go back down to the front desk yet again to get basic necessities. While heading to the front desk, I passed by a staff area where multiple employees were openly complaining about the company and guests. This was extremely unprofessional and concerning, especially given the poor service we were already experiencing. Another major issue is that rooms are not cleaned daily. It appears housekeeping only cleans rooms after guests check out and even then, the cleaning is substandard. You can expect dirt under beds, dirty refrigerators, and unclean bathrooms. After 48 hours of repeatedly requesting basic items like towels, tissues, and garbage bags with little to no response, I had to insist at the front desk that I would not leave without them. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Between the lack of cleanliness, poor customer service, and unprofessional staff behavior, I would not recommend staying here. If you're planning a trip, be prepared for significant issues and do not expect standard hotel service. read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience this past Sunday. We arrived at 10:00 AM with the intention of spending the entire day at the park. The initial check-in process went smoothly, and the front desk staff was courteous. I was informed that I would receive a text message once our room became available. However, by 4:00 PM, I had not received any notification. At 4:30 PM, I returned to the front desk to inquire and was told that while check-in begins at 4:00 PM, room availability at that exact time is not guaranteed. Unfortunately, by 7:30 PM, I still had not received any update. I returned to the front desk again, waited an additional 15 minutes, and was then informed there was an issue related to a request for adjoining rooms--despite the fact that I had only reserved one room and was not traveling with another party. Eventually, a room was assigned to us. My husband and I left our children at the park briefly to retrieve our belongings, but there were no luggage carts available, so we had to carry everything ourselves. Upon arriving at the assigned room, we discovered that it was already occupied by another family. It became clear that we were not the only guests experiencing these issues, as several others were also voicing similar complaints. Some guests even reported that their belongings had been misplaced by the storage area staff. In the end, the hotel was unable to provide us with a room at all, and we were forced to drive two hours back home that same evening. The manager on duty was not helpful in resolving the situation, which added to the frustration. Overall, this was an unacceptable experience. I would not recommend this establishment and would rate it one star only because a lower rating is not an option. read more

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding a terrifying experience I had during my recent stay at your hotel -- an experience no parent should ever have to go through. On the morning of April 27th, around 5 a.m., my 2 year old daughter was able to leave our room without my knowledge because the door latch failed to function properly. The safety mechanism that should have secured the door simply did not work. Thankfully, another guest found my daughter and quickly contacted hotel security. I am immensely grateful to that parent, as well as the security team who ensured my daughter was safe until I realized she was missing. Still, the moment I discovered she was gone is one I cannot fully describe -- it was truly horrifying. What added to my distress was being told by security that I should have used the latch -- which I did. When I explained this, the supervisor, Angelo, seemed to imply I was not being truthful. I invited him to my room so I could show him directly. When we tested the latch together, he was visibly shocked to see that it was indeed defective. Despite being latched, the door could be pulled open; the latch would pop back, and with a second pull, the door opened completely. Angelo proceeded to take photos and video of the issue. This situation is deeply concerning. Your hotel markets itself as a family-friendly establishment, with guest safety -- especially for children -- should be a top priority. No family should ever experience what mine did. This failure reflects a serious lapse in maintenance and safety protocols. I urge you to take immediate action to ensure all door latches in your facility are inspected and repaired where necessary. Please treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves. read more

I just got back from 2 days at camelback resort, and am writing this review immediately because we just can't get over what a great time we had. We checked in Saturday with no problem. There was ample parking, and very friendly staff who offered to help us with our 18 month old sons many many bags of toys. The lobby is beautiful but still very child friendly, not cheesy at all like some other places we have been to. I felt like they really strive to make it comfortable for adults but also convenient if traveling with kids. It's all in the details. The room was perfect, no frills but quite large. We stayed in the King bunk suite, and it was the perfect layout for us. My son had his own room with a tv. The arcade was beyond what we expected. I think I had more fun than our son did. Everything in the hotel was extremely reasonably priced. The room is a little expensive but it includes admission to the water parks and was worth the money. The indoor water park was open until 10pm. It got reasonably messy as the night went on but that is to be expected when you have that many kids running around. The swim up adults only bar was a nice touch! We spent all day Sunday at camelbeach, and it was perfect! I remember coming here years ago during the winter for snowboarding and the layout is the same. It's huge, and has so many fun things for both adults and kids. My son absolutely loved the new mummy's oasis. The whole park was very clean and comfortable, restrooms and baby changing areas everywhere. All in all, we had such a great time and were so thrilled we are already planning our next trip back. It was not too long of a drive from NYC either, so it's convenient. read more

I recently had my third stay at Camelback Resort, and it was a major disappointment compared to my previous visits in 2019 and 2022. I booked a two-bedroom suite for a three-day stay, but the room was dirty, smelled like chlorine, had dirty walls, and was very dim. When we called for room service to address the smell, we had to text a number and wait 20 minutes for a response. It took three attempts and over four hours before someone finally came, only to spray the rug, which barely helped. On the second day, we had a family emergency and had to leave a day early. When I spoke to Kevin at the front desk, he initially said someone from the reservation department would contact us to refund the unused day. However, as soon as he saw we booked through Expedia, he refused to help and told us to deal with Expedia directly. Expedia was more willing to assist, but when they contacted the hotel, they were told the hotel was too busy to respond and to call back on Tuesday. Despite multiple follow-ups, the hotel continued to ignore their inquiries. After two weeks of back-and-forth with Expedia, I was informed that the hotel would not honor the refund. This experience showed me how overpriced this hotel is for the quality of service you get, which has significantly declined. They also charge for daily parking, adding to the unnecessary expenses. I strongly advise looking at other reviews, as many people report the same lack of quality and poor service. For a cleaner place with better service, I highly recommend going to Kalahari Resort instead. read more

I recently visited Aquatopia Water Park, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Located within Camelback Resort, this place is massive and packed with so many fun activities that we ended up spending the entire day here. The park offers a wide variety of waterslides suitable for all ages, from gentle slides for the little ones to thrilling rides for adrenaline junkies. The lazy river was a perfect way to relax and cool off, and the kids' section was great--safe, fun, and full of kid-friendly features. There's truly something for everyone. For the adults, there's a swim-up bar serving fruity tropical drinks, which added an extra layer of fun and relaxation to our day. The food options were plentiful, with plenty of choices to keep everyone fueled up for more fun. The locker rooms are well-designed, equipped with showers, and made changing easy and convenient. Beyond the water park itself, the Camelback Resort offers even more amenities. We enjoyed exploring the arcade, trying out the bumper cars, climbing the rock wall, and visiting additional restaurants. There's also an ice cream shop, a pub, and other amenities that make the resort a great place for a full-day family getaway. Overall, Aquatopia Water Park exceeded our expectations with its variety of attractions, great facilities, and fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be returning for another fun-filled day! read more

I saw so many negative comments about the cleanliness of the hotel, but I thought our room was very clean. I'm sure it's all by individual experience. Food at the buffet was amazing, the arcade is lit af and is open til midnight, dinner at the buffet can get expensive so I'd advise to choose just one or two nights when you eat there our or your entire stay. $22 per person and $3 for refillable drinks. Breakfast is a bit cheaper, $16 per adult above 12. But whenever I went, I made sure I got as much out of my money as possible, so I ate like a pig lol. Never been to the other restaurants, didn't think they'd be as worth it for the prices. Hotel room was larger than I expected, plenty of room to do what you gotta do. Microwaves and refrigerators are ALWAYS convenient, considering the fact that you don't wanna always eat the hotel food. You walk in to lots of people in their swimsuits walking around, and there's constant music playing in the resort. It's a lit atmosphere. Love it. There's also literally so much to do here for the price you pay. Indoor water park, outdoor water park, arcade, amazing spa, mountain adventures (zip lines, Segway, etc), pottery... we had a 2 night stay (family of 4) and weren't able to get everything done. But this place is amazing and I WILL be coming here again with all my friends next time. read more

I must say I was impressed!! The staff was nothing short of spectacular, our trip was meant for our kids to see snow and this place meet all our expectations and yet exceeded them!! The cleanliness was on point, the fact that covid was still in full swing and yet they made it an excellent experience was amazing. We ended up extending our stay two days because it was so phenomenal. At trails end (restaurant on site) Debra was fantastic, Kayly at the bar making sure we were taken care of with our drinks, Vanessa and Cici at the front desk were sure to take care of us letting us know what activities were fun for our 3 kids and some great ideas for us the adults. Rob on of the managers made us feel at home, very welcoming guy excellent Miami talent. John the valet guy was excellent he truly loves what he does and it shows. We are completely planning on making this a yearly vacation spot because it was just spectacular!! Highly recommend it!! 10/10 5 thumbs up!!! Excellent!!! The town was super quite, people were very friendly and it was easy access to get to and from places. We went snowboarding and the attractions were fabulous, we totally enjoyed this trip. Highly recommended this place. read more

Camelback Reloaded - Went back due to a Spring Offer, got an even better deal by calling Camel back directly. Two day stay included 2 tickets to the Mountain Coaster as well as 4 tickets to Aquatica water-park. Overall another excellent visit, Kids did the water-park until nighttime, different vibe at night due the the nice colorful lighting throughout the park. Tried the swim up bar this time for a drink with the wife, excellent decision! the drinks were awesome and the vibe was great with nice dance music and the setup makes it a bit private.. feels more adult oriented than the rest of the water park. Prices at the bar I thought were great at around 9 bucks a drink.. take cash or make sure you let the front desk know you will be charging the Room or you will end up running back to get your credit card 1/2 naked thru the hotel like I did. Again we opted to eat out since the food pricing is ridiculous for what you get. Drove down a few to Zacks Taco's and the Barley Creek Brewery for good eats! We bought 2 more tickets for 10 bucks each and we all got to ride the Mountain Coasters.. I highly recommend this... great fun. Overall another excellent trip and accommodation. read more

If you're even remotely considering a visit to camelback these days, implore you to reconsider--unless you enjoy torturing yourself in the most laughably incompetent way possible. This place is a masterclass in how to ruin a perfectly good day. Let's kick things off with the parking situation. It's like they designed it specifically to frustrate you. Imagine a twisted game of "who can park the worst," where every car is an obstacle in a twisted obstacle course. You might as well leave your car at home and walk. You could buy a small island for what they're charging, but hey, at least on that island, you won't have to deal with the lunacy about to unfold. Now, let's discuss the tubing experience itself. Picture this: a chaotic battlefield of plastic tubes, where the only rule is there are no rules. You'll be dodging rogue tubes and grown ass men who think they're auditioning for the next Fast & Furious. I spent more time avoiding collisions than actually enjoying the ride, which we only got to go down twice in 90 mins. Do yourself a favor: find literally anywhere else to enjoy the day. You'll thank me later. read more

I recently stayed at Camelback Resort and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Upon checking into our room, we discovered that it had clearly not been properly cleaned. There was underwear and other debris left underneath the bunk beds, and the floors did not appear to have been vacuumed at all. This immediately raised serious concerns about the overall cleanliness of the room. We contacted guest services right away, but after waiting about an hour with no response, we had to call again. When someone finally arrived, it was a plumber--despite us never reporting any plumbing issue. After explaining the situation again, another staff member eventually came to remove the undergarments, but no effort was made to properly clean or sanitize the area. The room was still not vacuumed, and the rest of the debris remained. This level of oversight is very concerning, especially for a resort that should prioritize cleanliness and guest comfort. The lack of urgency and follow-through from staff only made the situation worse. read more

We Went There for a Two Night Stay. Had a awesome time at Aquatopia. Also had a adult swim bar. I was impressed with the indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi. The kids loved the arcade/and lazertag , and wall climbing after the waterpark. We Had dinner and breakfast at the buffet restaurant. They had a good selection of food, but everything was bland. They forgot the seasoning. I wouldn't mine paying the $23.99 for adults and the $15.99 for kids if the food was Good. We all had just one plate and a plate of fruits which looked at the buffet trays. We all were wishing for ihop. Very disappointing. Otherwise the rooms were big, cozy and very clean. It would not be my first choice to put a sink in the bedroom area. but is what is , I guess. Anyways had a nice time. would not recommend more than 2nights unless you dine outside the resort. I don't believe I would invest in a season pass, but would return for a second visit. Definitely check for discount rates. very nice staff . Great for kids Would rate this trip as a Nice time. read more
