Unloading dock at B Lift in early 2024; child fell, parents didnt care, caused issues.

Bear Creek is conveniently located not too far from Spring Mountain Adventures, but its season tends to start later and end earlier due to its proximity to Philadelphia. My experiences here have been a mix of highs and lows, so I'm giving it a fair 3 out of 5 stars. PARKING Plenty of free parking, which is always a plus. PASSES Bear Creek is more expensive than Spring Mountain but more affordable than Blue Mountain. I purchased a 2023/2024 season pass for about $500, expecting to go at least 10 times to make it worthwhile. However, with a late season start in January and an early close in March, it didn't quite pan out as expected. This experience reinforced my belief that season passes can be hit or miss depending on weather, scheduling, and unforeseen circumstances. VIBE & ATMOSPHERE The overall vibe varies depending on where you are on the mountain. Some staff members were incredibly kind and helpful, while others came across as indifferent. I personally had better experiences on the right side of the mountain, where things felt more organized and enjoyable. The left side, particularly near the terrain park, seemed much busier and less structured. While the slope itself is great, the area felt unsafe at times due to the lack of organization. SNOW & SLOPES Like most East Coast resorts, conditions can be icy. The snow coverage is decent when they are open, but Blue Mountain consistently has better conditions for a slightly higher price. That said, I did have some great runs on the right side of the mountain and felt my riding improved here. CHALLENGES & LEARNING EXPERIENCES While I had some fun days here, I also faced unexpected challenges. On two occasions, I had incidents while unloading from B Lift, which were difficult experiences for me. I recognize that things can happen at any ski resort, but these situations made me reflect on safety protocols and attentiveness. I strongly recommend being mindful of unloading areas and staying alert in high-traffic spots. FOOD & LODGE The lodge is visually appealing, and while food prices are typical for a ski resort, I found the fries to be a standout! OVERALL Bear Creek has its pros and cons. I had some really enjoyable runs on certain parts of the mountain, but there were also situations that made me hesitant about returning. I frequently ride at much bigger mountains, so I expected to be fine here--but that wasn't the case. If you go, don't have high expectations. Would I personally return? No. But I still had some good moments, and everyone should form their own opinion. Some people love it here, while others may feel differently--it really depends on what you're looking for in a mountain.

I stayed here with my family over a short weekend. We had limited time and wanted to get a trail pass but was given the run around to go to the activity center to get a pass. Then we went there and it was closed so we could not get a pass even the hours displayed meant we should have been able to get a pass. There is a disconnect between communication between the different departments and buildings there. Every question we had about services were were redirected by front desk to go ask them. Not sure if the afternoon front desk is new but the evening front desk person was much more helpful and gave us a trail map. Room was a bit aged and moderate clean. For a resort hotel, we expected more free amenities and also the indoor pool was pretty small. The only amenity we really enjoyed and got to take advantage of was their gym equipment which have virtual mode on some of them. Breakfast is not included in your stay. Might as well shell out money to support a surrounding local diner.

I ended up staying at the Bear Creek Mountain Resort for one evening during a work visit in PA. Bear Creek Mountain Resort is located in Macungie, PA. It's a 4 season resort, but it's primarily known for its amazing Ski options! My check-in was for a Wednesday evening, with check-out on Thursday. I arrived around 6:00 P.M. for check-in. The resort is stunning! As soon as you enter, you'll notice the beautiful interior with stone fireplaces, decked out wooden designs, and beautiful patio furniture. There is a gift shop next to the check-in registers. When I went to check in, the first team member provided me with paperwork to sign and started to check me in, but their computer rebooted and stopped working. I had to go to another register, re-sign new paperwork, and provide all the information needed. The team member at Bear Creek Mountain informed me that they were having issues with their servers and that the TVs wouldn't work in the room. My room was on the opposite side of the resort, on the 6th floor, overlooking the ski slopes. The room was relatively large. It had a bed, office desk, additional chairs, TV, and a spacious bathroom. The bathroom had only a standing shower unit. For amenities, there are three different dining locations. I did eat at the Trail's End Café for breakfast on a Thursday morning. Dining: The Grille at Bear Creek Trail's End Café The Mountain Eatery There is a heated indoor pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and a mountain-side outdoor pool adjacent to the South Tower in the hotel. The current Outdoor Pool & Hot Tub hours are 10:00 A.M - 10:00 P.M The Indoor Pool is open from 7:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M though!! The fitness center is free and it's located on the ground floor of the Hotel's South Tower. It has a wide range of fitness gear, such as free weights, treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes! The resort was empty, and since it was off-season, the Ski slopes weren't open, but the resort was wonderful to just hang out and relax in! It was a warm day, around 80 out, and the evening was just perfect for star gazing! This place looks to be a great resort during the ski season, though!

My family & I had an outstanding stay at this resort! We stayed on our way up to NY and on the way back home from NY in the month of July (2024). It was extremely clean, and the pools and hot tubs were fantastic. The inclusive activities kept us entertained throughout our stay. The food was excellent, and the customer service was the best I've ever experienced. Highly recommend! I loved that hiking trails, kayaks, paddleboards, pedal boats, pools & hot tubs were included in our stay!! They had an indoor pool & hot tub in addition to outdoor ones!! We ordered dinner to-go from The Grille and it was excellent!! We will be back for sure!! The staff were top notch too and so accommodating! Thank you!

This resort is excellent. Customer Service excellent! Housekeeping Excellent. Clean Rooms ! The Cafe great service great food! Indoor Swimming Pool & Out door Swimming Pool excellent cleaning as well as all the jacuzzi. The lobby the floors totally spotless clean. I have been at this resort over 15 times. Recent stay was June 10 till June 11th 2025. I return June 23rd stayed till June 25th was staying 1 nite and ended stay a extra night. (Padilla). Deserves a 10 star .

The mountain is good and mountain ops is able to cover the mountain in snow very efficiently. However ski patrol here is on an infinite power trip they want to clip your pass for genuine mistakes. I've skiied for 19 years and never ducked a rope especially for some shitty snow in the Poconos. Sorry I can't see the rope and don't wanna get closed lined. Take my pass I'll take my business somewhere else. Respect goes a long way and it must be reciprocated. No wonder they need to hire more patrollers cause chances are it's a revolving door

It seems as though they were short staffed even at the bar. Terrible service, drinks were just OK. We live just down the road so we were not attending an event. On a Wednesday night we left hungry and angry.

My friend and i had our 1st ski lesson with Steve and he was a fantastic instructor!, very patient, thorough and did a great job communicating the basics for skiing!, ask for Steve if you are looking for a ski instructor!

The staff is nice, yet disorganized at times. Here's why it gets five stars. The instructors are amazing. Get your little ones signed up for weekly lessons and they will be up and skiing in a few lessons. The mountain is split into two areas: front and back. The front is set up for beginners. Beginners can progress from a short magic carpet to their first mid-hill very green level run. Then up the ante to a light blue run at the top. The backside is for beginners that can handle the front of the mountain and up to midlevel intermediate skiiers. It has its own, mildly terrifying, chair lift and the only low black level run. There is supposed to be a double black run under the chair lift, but in 15 years, I have never seen it open. This is not a ski mountain on any top 10 skiier bucket list. We don't want it there anyway. It our local hill. Inexpensive. Easily accessible. Plenty of beginner fun.

However, conditions and equipment are not top-notch--you get what you pay for. It's an inexpensive option close to King of Prussia and Philadelphia. Parking Parking can be confusing. Arrive early on weekends for a good spot; otherwise, you may have to park farther away and take a shuttle. Parking is free. Rentals My friend and I rented gear here in early February 2023, shortly after my first private snowboarding lesson at Big SNOW. The boots were lace-up (not BOA), helmets were an extra $10, and there were no instructions. At Big SNOW, helmets were free, and staff helped with BOA boots, making a big difference. Snow & Slopes Being closer to Philly means warmer temps; a hoodie sufficed. Snow was decent but limited, and slopes were small. Great for local fun or beginners. Lessons here, I noticed, were mostly group-based, which I wouldn't recommend for adults. Group lessons are cost-effective but lack the hands-on instruction needed to truly learn. After visiting this mountain, I realized I wasn't going to progress safely on my own. This experience taught me that if I truly wanted to learn snowboarding, it was best to continue at Big SNOW, where I could build skills properly. Some areas were icy, and many kids bombed the slopes without supervision. I blew out my knee because a child cut across my path, and as a beginner, I couldn't dodge in time. His mother didn't intervene, leaving me with two options: crash into him or bail and get injured. I chose the latter and haven't returned. Unfortunately, this lack of etiquette is common at smaller mountains. Price Affordable, but if you want a high-quality experience, Blue Mountain or Mountain Creek are worth the higher price--they're expensive for a reason. Food Edible, but think public school lunches. Overall Though I wouldn't return, I'm grateful for the experience because it taught me valuable lessons about how to progress safely in snowboarding. Everyone should form their own opinion, as some may enjoy this mountain for what it offers. If you're just starting out, it can be a good introduction, but for real improvement, I'd recommend Big SNOW.

If you're an absolute beginner, it isn't a bad introduction to the world of snow sports. It's a small "mountain" and therefore very beginner friendly. They have a completely closed off area on one side that is entirely for beginners with conveyor lifts, very gentle and short slopes, and a short chairlift. There are also two green trails on the mountain designated as "slow skiing areas," though they might want to police them better as there were still several daredevils blasting by us. The whole process for rentals and lessons is a well-oiled machine and easy to navigate. My 11-year-old son had never been skiing or snowboarding before and was anxious to try. So this seemed like a logical spot to bring him. I had been here plenty of times as a kid in the 90's, but this was my first time back in decades. We came on a Sunday in March and arrived at 7:30. It was already crowded with cars and people at that point but we still got a good parking spot and picking up rental equipment was no problem. My son enjoyed his snowboarding lesson and was loving how quickly he was learning. I bought a lift pass for me + helmet rental, and a beginner package for him (this included snowboard/helmet rental, one hour lesson, and restricted lift ticket). All together this was $293, which seems wildly overpriced for the mountain we were on, especially considering my son was stuck to the beginner area all day unless we upgraded his lift ticket. But I guess this price is common in the skiing industry these days, and I hate to think what the big mountains out west are charging. If you're an experienced skier/snowboarder and live close by, it's probably not a bad place to get in a quick fix. As an experienced skier myself, it was a pleasant day on the slopes, but got a little boring after awhile. If I'm going to pay an arm and a leg, fight hordes of people all day, and drive for a few hours to get there, I'd rather do so on a bigger and more challenging mountain.

We finished our meal and hiked back up the mountain arriving at 5, to discover that the lift was shutting down for the night. The operator said someone should've told us that it stops running at 430. Initially, he said he could take one of us back down in his 2 seater vehicle and the rest of us would have to hike back. But then he decided to radio to base who advised they would have someone drive the 3 of us together. The operator waited with us until our driver arrived. The driver was a very nice police officer who gave us a lot of info about Blue Mountain, and even volunteered to be our photographer. Despite the snafu, we all said we would come back. 8/10

We went on weekends and during the holiday week, but two of the lifts were not in operation. The line for the lift got a bit longer during the peak time. The group lesson seemed very crowded and the teacher / student ratio seemed high. Good to know that their tickets could be used at Big Boulder, so you could basically ski in two different mountains for the price of one ticket! The cost of the food was way over charged. Parking is free, but also very difficult to find the later you get here... So keep that in mind as well. They have lockers all over the premises to lock up your things. You'll have to pay to rent them and I believe the only option is to pay for the whole day. Regarding crowdedness... There were really long wait times at the ski lifts, which was very annoying and often frustrating. I get that they have upgraded systems that scan our lift tickets each time we ride, however it created a lot of chaos regarding the lines. I was not a fan. Also, the number of people who were just SITTING in the middle of the slopes, blocking the way was incredibly annoying and also dangerous. There were a LOT of people doing this... I get that it can be scary going down the slopes, especially if it's your first time, however MOVE TO THE SIDE if you're not planning on going anywhere. To end on a brighter note, we were surprised to discover that they offer night skiing here! So arriving later in the day didn't affect us too much as we continued skiing until after 7pm. As beginners, we only needed about 3-4 hours of ski time so it worked out great for us! Not sure if we would come back here or not, but we're definitely glad we tried it out at least once!
