I am a long time repeat customer of this place. My personal experience has always been consistently excellent over the years. Michelle, the owner, is responsive to my requests and always courteous. I have tried all of their offerings, but this review is for their full body massage. Firstly, the private room is very warm and welcoming - there are parallel bars attached to the ceiling for "foot work" on the back. The masseuse was super pleasant and heeded my specific requests to focus more on certain areas. She was fantastic with deep tissue massage, and to my surprise, she was amazing with facial massage. I was really happy with the whole experience. I see some negative reviews about tipping and such, but understand that this is one full hour of hard labor and their expectation is no different than any other massage places. Went for a one hour regular massage. Nice lady, but did not speak much English which caused some misunderstanding. The massage itself felt very arbitrary and like she was just massaging things randomly- at one point it felt like she was just going up and down my ribcage to the point where I was tense from wincing in pain. Same on the backs of my legs. She said "all done, hold on" which because of the language barrier sounded like "all done, all done" so I got dressed and paid but she told me to come back and made me undress again in the room (which she didn't leave for me to have privacy) so that she could continue. At that point I was just waiting for it to be over. It was a $73 service and I left a $12 tip, to which they basically said "only 12?" and acted very shocked and disappointed. I, of course, did not get any massages during the pandemic for safety reasons. They significantly upped their prices and won't accept the coupon from before and now charge $40 for a foot massage! They refuse to give a refund as well so the only option is to lose out on the $25 already paid or pay extra $15 per massage. They hound you for tips as well. They used to be a good deal, but with the increase prices, it's better to pay a little bit more and get a real massage elsewhere. read more

$90 Full Body massage was a bit of a let down. For $90 plus $22 tip i got: 1. No lotion or oil on body ( single drops used on face/shoulders only) 2. No hot stones as advertised 3. Uncomfortable face rest on the massage table 4. Foot massage was not with bare hands or even using gloves, but was done with a towel in between. 5 No skin contact on back or leg massage...all clothes on. I went here because of the prices I saw, which were $40 for a 30 minutes back massage, unfortunately when I got there the price was raised to $50 and I had to pay before even receiving the service which I don't mind but then the front desk lady also immediately asked us for tips. I was lead in a private room and was asked to take off my shirt, bra, pants, and shoes. At first the massage was enjoyable but then it started getting more painful and I was holding my breath to bare the pain. She used cetaphil lotion through out the massage and at the end she used hot stones and a warm towel, however my friend that I came along with did not receive hot stones although that's what's stated on the website. At the end the lady's left the room to allow us to change and were respectful, but once again the front desk lady was asking for more tips, she stated "give her more tip because she work hard" and my friend replied with "how much?" And she stated "$10 tip" she politely declined but then she also wanted me to tip more too, it was as if she was peer pressuring us to tip more. If i could give this place zero stars, I would. Came here with my mom and we both got the 30 minute full body massage. Aside from the fact that absolutely no one understood English, my mom received a male masseuse. She told me afterwards that she asked for a female masseuse instead and said "i would like my daughter to have a female masseuse as well." Instead, the man who was supposed to massage her just walked into my room. The massage was SO PAINFUL. I asked for him to go lighter at least 3 times but all he did was aggressively shove his elbow into my back. When we were leaving, my mom asked for change for a 10 for a tip. Instead, the woman at the front did not give the 10 back, saying "they work hard, they deserve this tip." What? Since when do other people get to decide how much YOU tip someone for YOUR experience? So far, I've received a lot of lotion lathering and half-heartedly presses here and there. I've been getting the 1 hour foot massage (it's actually a full body massage, fully clothed) on a somewhat regular basis for the past few years. I was surprised to see some of the negative reviews here because I've never had a bad experience in the roughly 30 massages I've had. If the pressure is too hard (which it often is for me), they quickly adjust the pressure as soon as I speak up. Soothing music plays in the background. The lotion isn't overly fragrant. Very clean. Brought my boyfriend here for his first reflexology massage! It is very calm and quiet in the room, which I like. Music was playing, which helped with the relaxation. The body massage part was pretty good, but I felt that the foot massage part was lacking a bit and was pretty short. It also felt like there wasn't that much reflexology done as compared to some other places I've gone to. Since it was my boyfriend's first time, he liked it a lot. First time here. I went to get a one hour foot massage but after realizing how good she was I asked to switch to 30 min feet and 30 min back which I needed badly. I needed strong hands and a good technique and she had both. Her name is Sunny but not sure of the spelling. After the feet massage I was transferred to a private room for the back massage, happy about that. She worked really hard and asked me a couple of times if the pressure was right. Just finished the massage 5 mins ago The lady placed her cell phone in front of my head during the massage. It vibrate 4 times. Very distracting. I was nervous about the phone the whole time but was afraid to say something. She left the room jn the middle of the massage for quite sometime without telling me what was happening and finally came back with warm towel for my back.... but it was a long time.... overall I was more stressed after the massage. No. I went, tipped well because it still was time spent on me but they cut the massage 7 mins earlier than expected and did a sloppy job of a glorified oil application. I was not instructed what to do when sent to a room and then the masseuse was impatient and acted like I'm dumb. I understand language barrier and am ok w misunderstood things but don't get mad. She seemed to resent me the minute I arrived. If you couldn't take me for that appointment then you shouldn't have . Did you have plans? Then you should've said you're closed when I called. And then when I arrived they didn't even write down what I wanted when I had called in advance and they said it was OK. I should not feel sorry or bad for giving your business a chance but I left feeling ripped off. I paid $70 and I tipped $30 and I think that's more than generous. I didn't want to tip but clearly you were having a bad day and maybe this at least made it a little easier and you had a good rest of your evening after leaving work. Terrible. I just left this establishment and it was the worst massage therapist I've ever had. She had a serious attitude and was clearly irritated. She was literally flinging my hand and just dropping my arms instead of placing them down. She pushed my face over to the left and right with one finger. I could not believe it; at first it made me laugh because I was surprised but she kept doing it I started to get upset. I provided a $15 tip when it was over because I believe they masseurs are severely underpaid for the work they do at these foot spas in comparison to other massage places, but I was beyond disappointed with this woman's attitude. OMG, this is the BEST massage I have ever had in my life and for the Yelp $40 special (a one hour foot and full body combo), it's totally a steal! I've been to many massage salons all over the world from super high end resorts to local joints in Asia, but the massage I had here hit the nail on EVERY single problem spot I had without having to tell them where I was tight. Their hands can feel the tight spots and they'll spend tons of time loosening the muscles and taking time to give a full rub down. Just believe me and go, you won't regret it and like the other folks, my massage went well over an hour. Here's how it works (for a 60 min. full body and foot massage) - Full body starts in a small private room (if you want them to use oil, you just keep your undies on; they'll wipe off the oil with hot towels at the end.) I was tight on my upper body and back so the rub down went deep into the spots of tightness for over 30 min. with a neck and head massage. After getting a wipe down with the hot towels, you put your clothes back on and move to the front room where the foot massage chairs are. - Foot massage starts with a tub of warm water where you soak your feet while the upper body and head, neck area are massaged again. For the latter half your feet are dried and a deep foot massage will transform you into a dream. I think I fell asleep, it felt so divine. They will bend your knees in the end and loosen up the knee muscles too and then you're done. My appt. was 3:15 and I finished at 4:30 pm. Gonna go back every week if I can! read more

I went here on a random Friday as I had some time to kill. I'm a little biased towards foot massages as I'm really just trying to find cheap back massages so I could treat myself more often and even have a place to just nap or be pampered. I actually don't care for the actual foot massage. So this place to me out of the tons of reflexology places I've gone to is on the 4/10. Slightly lower than average. I'm not sure why but I also got the front desk lady who I felt like was just stepping in/boss lady. Anyways, I saw their prices and had some time to kill in Hayward so I dropped by this place as opposed to Happy Feet because they looked cheaper from yelping ($35 vs $35) as well as they could take me in. Got there thinking 60 min foot massage for $30 not bad at all. She upsold for $10 extra, upgrade it to 30 min back + 30 min foot. I did it but actually regretted this later. 30 min back meant going into a private room onto an uncomfortable table (I was distracted thinking why am I not liking this!!), took off shirt and bra but not pants and laid down. Massage was just okay. She used her forearm most of the time. Scratchy cheap towels didn't help either. I couldn't get into it for some reason. 30 min later, went outside to the common area to do the foot massage and liked that more. She still did the face, head, arms, neck so the actual foot part was like maybe 15 minutes which I liked. It was more relaxing outside. She also got irritated by someone's phone going off and stopped several times until she finally got up and walked over there. I heard some mandarin between her and someone else and then a few minutes later came back. She also wasn't gentle in the little aspects. I was scared she was gonna crack my neck when turning it to the side. Like flop this and throw towel onto face not gently. It's the little things and believe me, I've been to many and I'm not picky. So I'm giving this a 4 star because I felt like it was clean and not bad and would recommend, but I will save$10 next time and just do 60 min foot massage. I've had my share of foot massages in Los Angeles and Shenzhen China. This place cost $30/hr. They have black leather chairs facing a flat screen tv with some soothing music. The massage was horrible. Eventhough everyone thinks it is ONE HOUR FOOT massage, it is a body massage along with a foot massage. The person missed all the acupressure points. I wonder even if she is properly trained? The lady at the front desk had the nerve to say to me "they worked hard, you should tip XXX this amount". Anyways, they charge $1 if you use credit card. I want to come here daily! For $25 you get a full body rub down (fully clothed, don't make the mistake I did the first time and come wearing tight uncomfortable jeans!). This isn't Burke Williams so do not expect luxurious oils and soft spoken masseuses who want to know about any problem areas you have. It's dark and there's soothing music playing. As long as you keep your eyes clothes you will forget you're in a big room of people getting massaged and you won't see the employees yawning and watching the minutes on the clock tick by. I searched on yelp before made the decision but reality hit to the bottom. Mismanagement and Unprofessional customer service. It was the worst experience of our friday night. I called in around 8:30 to ask for availability for 2 person around 9pm. The receptionist was hesitatingly giving us time slot and put us in 9:30 appointment. We arrived in about 10 mins earlier in case of uncertainty. The receptionist confirmed us that we should be fine with 9:30 pm appointment. There were only 1 person ahead of us. Around 9:20pm, the receptionist left us at waiting area and never show up again. We WATIED 40 mins till saw customers started leaving and finally owner came out at 10:10pm. Again, we waited for 40 mins and nobody worked there notice us that they were actually overbooked! First off - let me just say that if you're looking for a professional massage you should not come here. Therefore please note that this rating is not based on or comparable to day spa type places. I just got back from a business trip and had achy feet and calves so going here was a last minute decision. I asked for the 1hr foot massage. First they soak your feet in a warm herbal concoction. Then they recline your chair so that it becomes a makeshift massage table and they begin with a head massage. This was a bit awkward for me because the chair is huge and it put some pressure on my lower back due to the fact that my feet were still hanging off the edge of the recliner, soaking. I asked for a pillow but the guy didn't understand me. I eventually reached over and got a pillow myself because my chair was next to a pile of them. The head massage was alright but the part I hated was the EAR massage. Yeah, you heard me. Lobes, cartilage, and then the dude put his thumbs IN my EARS. Super awkward and unexpected. I will specifically say NO to this next time. Then you get an arm and hand massage, a leg/foot rub (seriously - this was no massage), and hot towels to clean the lotion off your legs and feet. Then you get flipped over for a full back of your body massage - if you have issues with people touching your butt - you better let them know before they start this part. PROS - Cheap. advertised as $25 but be prepared to pay $30 (see below note on the tip) - you get what you pay for (although I didn't know I was paying for an ear massage too) CONS - SOUND. If you are going to go here for a full body massage in one of the massage rooms, please know that we can hear EVERYTHING you say in the foot massage room which is very quiet. There was a lady in one of the rooms and aside from hearing all her requests, we also heard her squeals of delight and at one point even say "I love you" to her masseuse. I'm glad she liked her massage but really didn't need to hear all that. - TIP. So what the other yelpers have said is true. The lady at the front desk asked how much tip I was going to leave and because it was under 5 bucks, she said, "No, leave five because he worked hard." I don't think she knows that the tip amount is the customer's choice. What if I hated the service? I'm pretty sure she'd still demand the 5. At the end of the day I'm totally OK with paying the $30 to go here. Went in with a groupon coupon. Combo deal body and foot for 80 min total. Pros: cheap , easy to schedule, masseuse listens to you ( mostly sign language). Cons: communication issues- language barrier, poor hygiene- I got fresh towels for full body only upon request, cheap oil/lotion used for massage, masseuse didn't seem like a licensed therapist at all and had no clue of what she was doing. I asked her to use my oil instead of the shady lotion she was applying and she still used her lotion on my feet. Her moves felt like pokes into my shoulders at times. In short, I didn' t feel like I had a massage done afterwards. On top of that, she would not accept anything less than 20 percent tip and refused to take the money otherwise. Probably the best bang for your buck for massages (especially the foot massage) in the south bay. For $25, you get a one hour foot massage that starts with a head and shoulder massage (awesome!). After spending nearly 20-25 minutes on your feet, (which they do a fantastic job with, btw) they give you a clothed body massage. So you basically remain in the same massage chair and the masseuse massages your hands, legs, stomach, back, neck, shoulder and head for the rest of the time - probably about 15 minutes. This routine only adds to the relaxing feeling already prevailing in your body from the foot massage. At the end of the one hour, you end up feeling relaxed and de-stressed. The massage room is a dimly lit, plays soft music and has a wall mounted TV that plays in low volume. The chairs are clean, the towels smell freshly washed and whole atmosphere is very calming and soothing. The only thing is that the receptionist forces you to give her a 20% tip which can be mildly annoying. Sure, they deserve it but that does not entitle the owner/staff to force the customer to pay up. I have been going to Splendid Feet for two years. I do a lot of activities which leave my body a lot of tension and injuries at times. But no problem, my massage therapist helps me to release the tension and recover from these injuries. Last year, I had a MCL injury on my left knee from skiing, but I got better after a few treatments even without going to see a physical therapist. I highly recommend Splendid Feet Massage. read more

Massage for a good price. I got the combination, $40 60 minute foot and body massage. Body massage: I was directed to a room, and the host didn't say anything so I wasnt exactly sure what to do. In this massage place, you do not undress. When my masseuse came, she used her elbow the whole time and it was painful in some areas that it was pretty much impossible to relax. But luckily, I love painful massages, so I didn't mind that. Foot Massage: The foot massage is done outside. They start with the head massage, and arm massage while your feet are soaking in warm water. The warm water was at the perfect temperature and felt super relaxing. The foot massage was average.
