I wasn't a fan and I've never been back but I did love the decor and the fact they had board games available to hang out with the family and play. My issue is with the extremely limited menu if you don't like things that are pickled and made with a lot of vinegar. Plus, the lack of white meat chicken. To me any place that doesn't serve white meat chicken is just being cheap. Don't try to tell me that dark meat is more flavorful. I don't care. Kicking myself for not visiting this spot the last time I was in SLC! Spitz is an absolutely delicious Mediterranean fusion spot with wraps, salads, and tapas. A friend suggested we come here and recommended everything on their menu. I decided to get their Mediterranean falafel wrap to eat in and their daquitos to go. Both were just amazing! Full of flavor, delicious, and made you want to keep eating more and more. They also had two types of sauces available--a cilantro and spicy red pepper. Both went great with the wrap and the daquitos. The prices were reasonable as well with both of my dishes just totaling $15! I love that they had a good number of vegetarian and vegan options. I've now tried this place three times and I think I finally have learned my lesson not to go back. First off, its expensive! I honestly don't think the value is there for the $. I love Mediterranean food! And while I appreciate that it's a different take on it I just haven't found that the chefs combos of how to put food and spice together work really well. Ive tried the wraps and bowls and they are just ok. Mediocre at best. And for $15+ for each I expect it to be exceptional. I think that might be why whenever I have gone in there was never any other person in the place. Not sure how they stay open. Either improve the flavor or lower the price. Something has to give. Ambience is unique and eclectic. The service was simple but very polite and helpful, restaurant seemed to be run by just two young people but they were very on top of things and the dining areas were clean even on a relatively busy night. Food came out super quick. I ordered the street gyro with falafel, and while I was most excited for their falafel, it was probably the least flavorful part of my meal. Everything in the gyro went very well together, however; and I loved the fries on the side too. My only real gripe was that it is pricey, for the gyro combo I ended up paying about $20 for just myself. If this meal were 8-12 bucks I could go weekly, but unfortunately $20 felt like a little much for one person. read more

I love Spitz so much! I was in the area today & decided to stop in! The Mediterranean wrap is me absolute favorite!! I always get it with falafel. This is always my go to. I love the Kalamato olives they put in this. Make sure you don't eat the paper! My friend made this mistake once portion size is generous but It won't save though! So be aware of that. I also tried the medi bowl today. This will definitely save for a later meal. It was basically a quinoa bowl. Portion side on the bowl is decent too. I love that they offer some alcoholic drinks to choose from. I've had their street fries before, just not at this location & those are always phenomenal. Staff was great today & I got my food quickly. Everything tasted really fresh & presentation was beautiful. I love the food here...usually I order to be delivered but happened to stop on my way home to pick up a Doner Salad YUM! The cashier met me with a smile, she was friendly, courteous and helpful and said "thank you for coming in", PLUS a kind gentleman brought my order to my table instead of calling out a number or name. This was truly refreshing to have this experience and I'd like to point out that when I got home the salad was fantastic and the baklava nut roll to die for! I'll be coming in more often and would encourage others to do the same! The restaurant was nice and clean, quite busy as well, but my order was ready! Seemed like they were efficient. My food was delicious, amazingly flavorful. I wasn't so sure about this type of food, but it really surprised me with it's abundance of flavors. I do wish they would've include another sauce for the second order of doquitos. I would have them again for sure. They were nice and crisp on the outside, the chicken was spiced really well and the sauce was really great for moisture. The cabbage stuff was good as well! The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy and had a great taste to them. The perfect companion to my meal. It is a little expensive, more than the average lunch price. This place felt a lot heavier and greasy than I was expecting for a Mediterranean place. I think if I want fried food in the future I will probably just choose a greasy burger and fries. The moron who answered the phone, either Kayla or Mia, was absolutely rude and said "either come pick it up or take the L and suck it up". They say they're short staffed and are apologetic about wait times but I have never felt like I waited an unreasonable amount of time for delicious and freshly prepared food. The staff is polite, genuine people. This place gets busy during lunch and dinner all week, I would expect this of a great food establishment. Format is the same as the other locations- order, pay, sit with a number and they bring you the items. Only reason for docking one star is the bathrooms. The patrons trash it and there's no way the staff has time to upkeep them during peak hours. Just wish the people using them would be more considerate. read more

I have been wanting to try this place out for literally years, and their new location in Draper finally made it a lot easier to do! I went on a Friday afternoon with my husband for lunch. First impression was a fun place with a funky atmosphere. And so we got in line...and it moved. very. slow. But I had great company so whatever!! We ordered the Mediterranean Doner and the spitz street fries (half and half) with added protein because we'd been told this was the best thing on the menu. And the fries definitely were the best of the two things we got. Loaded with toppings and great flavor, BUT...I couldn't really get past the weird sensation of cold meat on hot fries. I asked a Spitz regular about this later and he said the meat should have been warm. And that would definitely have made it much better. So too bad for us, I guess? The Doner was dry. I wish I'd gone up and asked for a giant cup of tzaziki sauce but the place was busy so I just dealt but it wasn't as good as I'd hoped. And that sums it up. Spitz: Not as good as I'd hoped. I'd definitely go back and try for a truly warm batch of street fries again, but otherwise I'll be trekking elsewhere for my Mediterranean fix. read more

Spitz used to cater to my office in a Draper and I always enjoyed the trays of assemble-it-yourself Greek food. Stopped in today for dinner and really enjoyed it! The staff were VERY friendly and helpful and actually seemed happy to be there. The food was VERY good. Very fresh, full of flavor and if I could rate the food alone, it gets 5 stars! However, a few points off for bathrooms in a horrendous state, a less than comfortable dining area (the same tables and benches that used to be in the Café Rio that occupied this location) are still being used in this one, the menu is a tiny printed paper on the wall and some photos, real menu signage and explanations of what you're getting would go a long way to help people who might not be familiar with Mediterranean food, navigate and order what they'd want. The interior decor is "odd", doesn't match a Mediterranean them at all, but is still cool.
