Today I arrived for lunch at Spitz, in Draper. I have wanted to try there Doner Salad for some time. It was 1:30PM and they were a dozen patrons enjoying lunch. I placed my order and took a seat. The dining room is reminiscent of a cafeteria, with long wooden tables and benches that seem to encourage group dining. The tables, chairs and floor were clean. I had only sat for two minutes and my meal arrived. It was a beautiful salad, very fresh, filled with Mediterranean, spiced beef and lamb, baked chickpeas, grated feta, rice, Kalamata olives, and a delightful lemony dressing. The food was delicious, and I was very pleased with my selection. The benches were a tad awkward to climb into, but I am very tall so it's probably me. I can't wait to try their Gyro wrap. I would definitely recommend this place for a healthy, delicious, lunch or dinner. it's a good value. read more

I've been here three times now and today I ordered the Gyro with fries.Usually I get the side Greek salad... These are the best fries in Draper for sure. Crispy, garlic/aioli perfectly salted. Bomb! Spitz is one of my favorite places! I love their street cart fries, remix bowl, zesty feta and Berliner doner wraps! All their sauces are yummy and flavorful too so you can't go wrong with any of them. Spitz has such a fun vibe with funky lighting and colorful artwork. Love this place. Fast casual healthy food. The wraps are awesome and they give a lot of meat for the price. Hate getting a wrap or bowl and it's a ton of rice and meat, not the case here! As you can see in the pics below the two different Doner Wraps I got. Both great - can't wait to go back! This place was great for a while. If I have a bad experience somewhere I generally give the place another shot (sometimes it's an anomaly or an off-night, or something). The last two times I went to this location, though, the food was less than mediocre. What little meat they put on my gyro was dry, very little toppings, a pasty-tasting Berliner sauce, and there was pretty much no tzatziki sauce (at least not enough to taste it). It's like they've stopped caring. I'll still hit the downtown location when I'm up that way, I'm hoping hey haven't caught the don't-give-a-shit epidemic from the Draper location. When you pay that much for something, you generally want it to look and taste somewhat like the description on the menu. Even with the BOGO coupons from the calendar, I won't be back. read more

The food was really good. Everything had a lot of flavor. The ambiance was very relaxed and they were quick to prepare my order.

I've decided to start exploring the menus here a bit more, although I have to remind myself to go find a drink elsewhere, since what is in the fountains is nearly always junk. I really wish everyone would just have a Coke Freestyle and just have done with things, but too much to ask, I suppose. Anyway, this time I had the remix bowl and I was quite impressed with it overall. I still don't like most of the side sauces and I think I'd have to modify it a bit to get it to where I'd really like it to be, but perhaps in future. As it was, they did an excellent job here and it was surprisingly unexpectedly filling, something else I seem to always forget about these places. Anyway, this is overall the equal to the Sugarhood location, which is sort of my benchmark and gold standard for these locations, so good on them. read more

used to frequent this location once a week. Owner has new manager that needs to manage. Second time I have found hair in my $15 bowl. Nasty. when I called in, the server at the register, the same one that could not figure out how to put in our number for points, said the manager would call me. waited 10 days for this person to step up. Will not go back ever. Hair nets may not be sexy but in the food industry, necessary. Maybe a call to the health department will be my next step. read more

My favorite was the sweet potato fries. I think I could eat those all day! So good! The street cart wrap is really yummy. My husband enjoyed the quinoa salad and the new street taco thing. I tried Spitz's new cheese flatbread and I definitely wasn't disappointed!! It was delicious! It's not currently on their online menu as it must be brand new, but it's certainly worth a try! The lightly seasoned crust was just the right amount of crunchy and the hint of sun dried tomato and basil pesto they used paired amazingly with the cheese. They have a few other flatbread flavors that I'm sure would be just as delicious, if not more! The employees were all super friendly and the service was quick! My issue is with the extremely limited menu if you don't like things that are pickled and made with a lot of vinegar. Plus, the lack of white meat chicken. To me any place that doesn't serve white meat chicken is just being cheap. Don't try to tell me that dark meat is more flavorful. I don't care. Kicking myself for not visiting this spot the last time I was in SLC! Spitz is an absolutely delicious Mediterranean fusion spot with wraps, salads, and tapas. A friend suggested we come here and recommended everything on their menu. I decided to get their Mediterranean falafel wrap to eat in and their daquitos to go. Both were just amazing! Full of flavor, delicious, and made you want to keep eating more and more. They also had two types of sauces available--a cilantro and spicy red pepper. Both went great with the wrap and the daquitos. The prices were reasonable as well with both of my dishes just totaling $15! I love that they had a good number of vegetarian and vegan options. I've now tried this place three times and I think I finally have learned my lesson not to go back. First off, its expensive! I honestly don't think the value is there for the $. I love Mediterranean food! And while I appreciate that it's a different take on it I just haven't found that the chefs combos of how to put food and spice together work really well. Ive tried the wraps and bowls and they are just ok. Mediocre at best. And for $15+ for each I expect it to be exceptional. I think that might be why whenever I have gone in there was never any other person in the place. Not sure how they stay open. Either improve the flavor or lower the price. Something has to give. I love the food here...usually I order to be delivered but happened to stop on my way home to pick up a Doner Salad YUM! The cashier met me with a smile, she was friendly, courteous and helpful and said "thank you for coming in", PLUS a kind gentleman brought my order to my table instead of calling out a number or name. This was truly refreshing to have this experience and I'd like to point out that when I got home the salad was fantastic and the baklava nut roll to die for! I'll be coming in more often and would encourage others to do the same! The service was simple but very polite and helpful, restaurant seemed to be run by just two young people but they were very on top of things and the dining areas were clean even on a relatively busy night. Food came out super quick. I ordered the street gyro with falafel, and while I was most excited for their falafel, it was probably the least flavorful part of my meal. Everything in the gyro went very well together, however; and I loved the fries on the side too. My only real gripe was that it is pricey, for the gyro combo I ended up paying about $20 for just myself.
