I got the creepy crimson girl, very disappointed, I got no instructions to put her together, so I used youtube videos to see how to put her together. She is made out of some of the cheapest materials and when I finally put her up, she would lean forward or back, not straightly. My house looked no different from it regularly looking, and took myself three hours to put together, not even saying one word about the rest. The rest of the stuff I got one, would probably sell for half of the price I got it for and two, looked no different from my crimson girl, you are better off buying something from somewhere else then ever going to this cheapskate of a store. read more

we came to hopefully get an exchange for a costume we got same day. we went to the same location we purchased but they didn't have the costume in the same size so they called another store to exchange it there. keep in mind we are aware of the no returns but what are u supposed to do when u buy a damaged product. so we went to this store they referred us too, rio salado. We got there and she refused to do the exchange saying maybe the other store said yes but we won't and telling us too bad. wasn't sure if was even a manager. confused as to why she's turning us away we let them know the situation and that the val vista spirit called them as well. they called and had other store explain and even after doing so she said ur only option is the other store when they don't even have the correct size. hope that made u feel cool and good about urself because u were doing too much for minimum wage. anyways got scammed into a ripped costume with a missing zipper. hopefully corporate will treat humans better lol. read more

Yes, it's a cool store. It really brings out that magical feeling that Halloween is coming up. The staff is also friendly and helpful. I was asked twice if everything was alright and one of the ladies helped me finding the cat ears for the Catwoman costume. It's also very easy to find and there's plenty of parking at the Tempe Marketplace. However, the reason why this review doesn't make it to 4 stars it's because it's extremely EXPENSIVE! A whole costume for one person will probably cost you around $100 (depending on the number of items the costume has). If you're not already equipped with some items, be ready to spend a lot! This year I'm Catwoman and, besides the black boots, I had to buy the entire costume composed of black suit, cat ears, cat tail, fangs, black gloves and other items that amounted to $88. I wanted to buy more but my budget was already crossed. The quality of the material then, is not that great. And unless you're always be the same character every year, it's only for one night. Went in to purchase my grandkids costumes, 3 mind you, and found 2 if the same item 1 had a low price and 1had a higher price, EXACT SAME ITEM, I asked why price difference, and was informed cheaper one was wrong, I would have to pay the higher price. Told her that was against the law, and she said no, so instead if getting a 150.00 sale over a 4.00 price difference, I walked out. She was rude, and needs to learn the law. I went again last night and it appears as though they have fixed the window problem and they've added an area to try on certain costumes. I also wanted to add that they even have costumes for your pets. This place pretty much has it all covered. Since it's getting really close to Halloween, the place is packed and checkout may take awhile. I also noticed that a few costumes weren't in stock anymore - but they still have a huge selection. They already started discounting a few items as well. read more

Not only does this company sell low quality material, you have no idea what you are buying because you cannot try things on, if something is ripped the management will not exchange your item. I tried to exchange gloves after opening them and seeing two very large holes, I tried to exchange the gloves at the nearest spirit store and was treated horribly. The management was cold and condescending. DO NOT SHOP AT SPIRIT. All customer service phone numbers are atomized. All store location numbers are fake. I will never go back to this company. I bought a $80 "jumping" spider on the 29th of October. No one told us the last day for returns or exchanges was the 28th of October. So we went in to exchange it for a $300 animatronic. I was told there was nothing she could do, and to take it to another store. I responded with "no" and the "manager" got very rude and snippy. The spirit on Thomas and 40th st employees are incredible, and returned it, and was happy to take our $300. read more

Beware of size problems in packaged kids costumes, especially those that include tights. My daughter just turned 8. The fairy costume for 8 - 10 just was way too small. I returned it and upsized to age 12 - 14 and the tights still were too small! No problem getting my money back, but no costume. read more

Upon my recent visit to the location in Tempe Market place I was thoroughly disappointed by the staff while trying to return an item that had never been worn. After presenting the receipt I was accused of wearing the item in question and even taping it back closed to hide the evidence of wear. The shorts I had purchased were not only in the original packaging, but had in fact never had even been tried on. I was denied the ability to return the item even though my receipt clearly stated that I had until the 21st of October as long as the receipt was presented with the original packaging...which it was. I recommend not buying from spirit Halloween because clearly their true intent is to not work with you if you encounter any obstacles. Buy your costumes from anywhere else people, they'll probably be cheaper anyway. read more

So i went to this location a few weeks ago and when i was just asking questions about costumes/ tshirts the guy gave me attitude and i was even joking with him to get him to laugh but he still was rude. Even checking out i just wanted to make him laugh and still nothing. I was going to let this go until tonite. I went to make a return and they close at 9. I got there at 8:57 and the doors were already locked. When he opened the door o asked if i could do a return and he was very rude and said no we are closed. I have gone to other stores at tempe market place and ive never been turned away. The only reason why i was doing a return so late was because i barely got off work. Im sorry but if ur store closes at 9 then u need to lock ur doors at 9 not 5ml mins til. And they even had one last customer in the store, its not like i was gonna go look around and shop i just wanted to return the items i didnt use. I hope this store doesnt come back next year or if they do, hire some ppl with some damn manners and some customer service experience! I understand you need to clean the store and get it ready for the next day I work retail and we sometimes have ppl inbour store til 20mins after we close be cause we are nice and understand ppl have last min shopping to do. I have been at this store last year and this year and taken my children numerous times without any problem before last night me and my step daughter who is 13 walked in two feet of the store and was addressed by a cashier who did apologize and ask for my step daughter to leave her little backpack purse at the register. I looked at this lady crazy for my step daughter had 50 dollars and a cell phone in that purse so I said no she will not. She then said her manager doesn't want anyone bringing backpacks inside and I told her she apparently didn't know this wasn't a school backpack and was a purse. She said I'll have to check with my manager and I said u tell her that if my child were to steal from the store it's me she'd have to worry about not them. I do not appreciate the battle of explaining to this lady this was a purse my own small purse is bigger then this thing! read more
