This used to be my go-to...10+ years of being there once a week when they get their new collectibles merchandise. All familiar faces that know me as a regular (mind you, I am not a creature of habit and don't "regular" anywhere). But I knew everyone. Christian values, why not? Things were good for a longgg time. But nowadays things have gone downhill. The vibe is off, everyone is complaining about everything all the time, and to the customers too - since customers just love hearing that! Apparently corporate is pressing them on being lessssss helpful to people since Karen's have complained - AS KARENS DO. But in all honesty, they were never really "helpful" per say, I just needed them to stock a shelf. If it were a robot doing it, I'd be set - maybe soon! I supported you when nobody else did. Your selection was limited for sooo long and your prices were above all...so people who collect didn't visit you, but I did. But no more. No incentive since I never find anything good there anymore other than scowly, squinty-eyed looks from melodramatic employees making it seem as if they do more than simply take an item out of a box and put it on a shelf. To start, my family and I have been loyal customers for years and never had anything negative to say until recently. As being owners of small businesses places like this and similar franchises are our bread and butter so it breaks our heart to hear that one of our own was being harassed and followed by Assistant Manager Michelle, Manager Danny, and employees Scott and Ronny. Their reasonings; because we were moving around too fast and therefore created suspicion. Having worked retail before, we understand Asset Protection is pivotal to ensuring products don't get stolen and prices stay low but at no point should your ego be above offering a simple apology. No discounts, no preferential treatment, just "our mistake, we apologize". I'd sign off by saying do better but seeing that someone else has had similar experience around a year ago, that bar may be too high. read more

Just got back from Hobby Lobby. I needed to get a new mat for a water color painting after I had changed the color of one of our rooms. A really nice lady at the framing desk helped me select a new mat, and then cut and installed it for me while I waited -- all for a surprisingly low cost. I would love to love this store but since they did away with coupon and still have zero computerized point-of-sale system, I am pretty annoyed. Every time I shop here it is musical prices depending upon who my cashier is. If it has a dangly tag it can be anywhere from 0% to 70% off based on the sale they are running at that moment in time. If it has a STICKER tag then that item is already on sale and thus that is the price no matter what sale is running. Any item can be in any category at any time - depending on who rings you up. A lap desk fell into "crafts" most recently and thus was NOT any percent off but a pillow fell into "home decor" and thus WAS 50% off. People don't like things to be marked up 300% over their value just to mark them back down again. Just put the price you need to get to make a profit on the dang thing and let me buy my stuff. Half of the home decor / artwork is damaged and requires some level of repair or ignoring of obvious dirt marks, frame gouges, etc. If you speak to anyone about it it's like, "Well, it is what it is." Zero additional discount offered. All of a sudden it makes it over to the clearance aisle, even FURTHER damaged, and now it's marked down more. I used to really enjoy shopping here but trusting your own ads and employee memory for sale prices is NOT a business model. Come into the current century, let alone decade, and get a computerized POS system that KNOWS what price things should be. read more

There was kids playing on chairs and running in the stores. And they were more worried thinking I was stealing. I left everything at the cashier because I was just so over it. Being followed off of an assumption. Terrible customer service as well. Being followed around the whole store and being harassed. Just an fyi to the person who thought I was stealing. WARNING: THE MANAGER THERE IS RACIST, BE MINDFUL IF YOU'RE A MINORITY. I was just here picking up a few items for making custom action figures, and I noticed the manager was following me down the isles. This man is about 5'4" , middle aged, slightly over weight, and balding. I didn't grab his name but, i'll post my receipt so if anyone reading decides they want to connect the dots. I noticed he made a b-line towards me and asked "What are you looking for today?". They funny part though was he didn't seem knowledgeable about the location of the things I was looking for and that when I continued to ask him to show me where the items on my list were, he was more concerned about brushing me off. I also asked him about a specific acrylic primer I was looking for and he said it was out of stock and that was the end of that. No attempt to call another store or find an alternative. Just a reminder, he asked me if I needed help but, was offensive and was the exact opposite of what help should look like. I really wanted to tell this guy if we have to compare paychecks, maybe he might realize there' no need for me to steal anything. Just a really unfortunate incident since the feeling I got was hurry up, buy, and get out. However, on my way out Im watching three soccer moms hanging out in the isles hanging out and chatting. At first I was irritated about the discontinuation of the coupon, then I simply started paying attention to the sale bill online. Pretty much everything is on sale in rotation, so I wait for that weeks sale. I do feel that I have to snap a picture of sale price and pay attention to my receipt but I have to do that everywhere else as well including grocery stores and other craft stores as well these days. I started to give this location 4 stars but then hesitated and decided to settle on 3. There are specific things I come in here looking for, most often yarn, occasionally fleece fabric. If you hit at the right time they have great sales when they're clearing out discontinued colors Etc. They only allow one coupon per visit and it's always 40% but I'm glad they have the phone app so I don't have to bring a paper coupon. That was especially a problem when I would come to Arizona to visit and not receive a newspaper or have a mailing address to receive coupons and would always be trying to hit up other people for the section of the newspaper with the coupon. If you ask a clerk for help they will usually help you but they don't go out of your way to seek you out and find out if you need help. The cashiers are usually friendly when I go through the line and the place looks clean and organized. I just never pick up a hugely friendly and welcoming Vibe when I come in here, thus the 3 stars instead of 4. read more

They also had a 50% off special on mostly everything in the store and we sure cleared out the wedding aisle! Hmmm had a tough time here, while this is definitely the place to go for knobs if you are replacing knobs on a dresser anything beyond that I was lost in the store. Yes they have it for sure- it's massive but after asking 5 different employees where something was only to finally have the last one take me to it instead of just pointing - I was super tired and frustrated. This is one of the best Hobby Lobby stores anywhere. It is absolutely huge! It's a great place to shop for craft items, for hobby ideas, gifts and especially at holiday time. They have fabric for sewing, games, plants and decorative items. Sales alternate on some of their items but you can usually find many 50% off signs. I love shopping here. I just wish there were more Hobby Lobby stores in cities we travel to. read more

I rarely shop at Hobby Lobby for various reasons however a friend purchased a gift card for my birthday. I was in today and although I appreciate that the items I purchased was 40% off, what upset me was that there were two cashiers and two very long lines with no assistance for a manager. More concerning both cashiers were wearing their face masks incorrectly, and when a customer walked in the store not wearing a mask at all; I questioned the cashier if she would say something and she said they were told not to confront people who refuse to wear their mask. This is absolutely not acceptable, they are not keeping customers or staff safe and sealed fate why I should not spend my hard earned money here when I have other options for craft supplies. read more

I recently had a very good experience here with getting a piece of artwork framed. I've been through this process before at another craft/hobby store and found it to be quite expensive. I wanted to be more frugal this time. I headed to the frame section and asked for help with an odd-sized frame. The woman who assisted was helpful and recommended both a frame and mat size. Cool. Now I knew what to do. Next, I picked out a frame and headed to the section to get help with matting. Vern was the gentleman who assisted and he was delightful. I had a concern that the matting would cover a part of the drawing and he came up with a solution to "float" the art and have the matting surround the piece. Great idea. Vern indicated he'd be the one doing the matting and I was very happy about this since he seemed very knowledgeable. When I picked up the framed art a couple of days ago, I was very impressed. Yes, It looked amazing, but Vern delivered! In addition to my joy at being able having a new piece of art to show, I was able to pay less for nice work, one reason being that all frames are always half off. Can't beat that! They refused to let me use the 40% off coupon on a silhouette blade even though I showed them on the coupon that it says only the silhouette cameo machine is excluded from the coupon. They claimed that all silhouette products are excluded from the discount even after I showed them the fine print. I'm a small business owner/artist who decided to check out hobby lobby for the first time. I was really excited until I walked in and a man in a light blue shirt and lanyard, who I assumed was the manager or someone of higher employment in the store, looked me up and down in what I felt like was a very judgmental manner, then walked right past me as if I wasn't a customer who just entered the store. I wasn't exactly looking my best since it was my day off, and I don't expect them to greet every customer but from the get it made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome from the moment I walked in. Great selection and the prices are cheaper here than Michael's I've noticed. But why do I have to wait an eternity to check out of here everytime??? The last time I went there was only one register open and the cashier was just taking his sweet time, no sense of urgency, and didn't call anyone up to assist. Finally the poor old woman behind me walked off to find a manager and 3 more cashiers arrived lickety split after she complained. I love Hobby Lobby for all things hobby, and this location is especially great because it is humongous! I almost would have thought that I looked through the entire store if the item I was looking for didn't happen to be located in another wing, down the ramp to the left. My only problem with this mega layout is that it's quite different than the others, so I didn't automatically know my way around. Also, I was looking for satin ribbon and a hair flower and instead of having all the ribbons and flowers in one central location they were scattered in many different spots throughout. Because of this I had to literally walk every aisle, which on this particular day didn't suck, but it would have in the event I had somewhere to be. Overall, I love this chain and never fail to find what I'm looking for. Often I even find a lot of things that I didn't know I was looking for, due to their very expansive and ever changing selection. They are closed on Sundays, which can be inconvenient at times, but then I remind myself how awesome/rare it is to find a company that places their values over profit, and ultimately it makes me like them that much more. Keep an eye out for their frequently offered coupons for additional savings. Really can't go wrong here. read more

After visiting this magic place I have managed to completely redecorate my house. It all started with a little Jar and soon it lead to many trinkets. Every week half the store is on sale which is nice. So if you see an item you really want, wait until the next week and your golden. It's super organized and the aisles have room to move. I've noticed that they have a lot of deals on patterns at Hobby Lobby so I thought I'd check them out and see what all they had for a sewing enthusiast. When I got there, they only had a couple cabinets for all their patterns and the selection was pretty dismal at best. In fact out of a shopping list of 15 patterns I only found 2. Another sad detail was that there is no table with the latest pattern books to look through. Anyways, my next stop was to the fabric section which was pretty limited as well. They has some quilting & crafting cotton, but nothing for clothing. The rest of the store was pretty cool when I wandered through it, lots of decor kind of stuff which was fun to imagine in my place. However if you're looking for sewing patterns, supplies, or fabric; JoAnn's is still your best bet right now. read more
