The take out pizzas are getting worse and worse. I love spin and we go to this location frequently for carry out. The past few times we have had carry out the pizzas have been a mess, look and taste gross. They would never serve these pizzas in the restaurant so they simply see it's take out and don't care to do a good job. This was one of the pizzas we ordered and there was tons of sauce with the cheese all over the crusts and sides. The pieces were all piled up and stuck together in the box. This location used to be decent, but we have experienced too many problems in the last couple of years. They routinely burn pizzas and forget to prepare items as ordered (e.g. gluten-free, making salads incorrectly, etc). When eating in the restaurant, the service is horrible. Servers neglect to properly wait on tables and rarely check to see if drinks need to be refilled. And, when a complaint is made and refunds are promised, management doesn't properly process refunds; they have to be reminded weeks to months later. . . Spin also needs to repair the seating in the restaurant. The booths are completely torn up and duct-taped. The appearance of the restaurant is terrible, especially considering what they want to charge for their food. We have complained, complained, and complained more; nothing changes. I've even complained on their corporate website. . . Their food is good when it is made right, but don't count on this location to do it. Go to a different Spin location. read more

Personal pan pizza and a small salad is what I like. They have lots of options. You can sit at a table or do take out.

This place was... interesting. First off we ordered our food, and got it in less than ten minutes, which was great. But when it came to the food, I wouldn't say it was great... I ended up sharing a Double Pepperoni Pizza with two others, and while it was okay, it certainly wasn't amazing. The cheese and pepperoni kept falling off, to the point where the toppings ended up in your lap, and the dough ended up in your mouth. Next, the pizza was incredibly greasy. I like greasy food, but this was just disgusting. The pizza was LITERALLY DAMP as the crust slowly shrank in size during the meal because of it picking up the disgusting grease. The grease was also the consistency of jelly, and was GREEN. My other friend ended up ordering a kids meal with grilled cheese and chips. The chips were delicious, but the grilled cheese was definitely not. When she got the grilled cheese, there was a HUGE chunk of burnt, dried cheese on the side. It was also green. She said it tasted okay but it was very burnt and slimy. Half-way through the meal, the food was so bad it tasted worse than school cafeteria food. We broke down laughing for about 5 minutes and couldn't stop because of the nastiness of the food. We only spent about 30 minutes in the restaurant, but the waiters were very kind and came to check on us multiple times, bringing new drinks and such. That's the only reason this gets two stars. The service was IMPECCABLE!! The food was quite the opposite. Though, it did give us a lot of laughs. I don't plan on going to any more Spin Pizza's in the future though. I wish I could leave negative stars, and I truly wish that this weren't the case. First, I *hate* the new order/payment system that requires me to pay gratuity while I check-out, prior to my meal - prior to learning about the quality of "service" that I will experience during my meal. Feb 2022: I think the store had a new manager (or more experience?), and definitely hired a lot of new young staff who have never served customers in the hospitality industry. I ate an early dinner (app, salad, pizza, and water) during a lull in business on a weekend, which meant about 15 customers at around 10 tables. It took 35 minutes for 5 different servers to provide my drink (water), then mediocre & lukewarm food (the combo plate of salad & personal pizza were the same lukewarm temperature), and finally my silverware. However, the teenage staff had time to show off clothes & hairstyles, phone cases, take selfies, and half-assed fold to-go pizza boxes behind the counter ... with all 8 of their backs to the dining room. I even had to raise my hand & flag my order number in the air - as if I were in school ... just to get someone's vague attention. Early April 2022: I went for a late lunch on a weekday, so there were still a decent number of staff in comparison to the number of patrons. Some of the same young staff were present, and unfortunately many of the same problems still occurred. Only 1 or 2 "senior" servers who had a clue about *why* patrons had come to Spin: a meal with food & drink ... without taking too long, AND with reasonable hygiene. Today, Mother's Day, 5/8/22 @ 7:30 pm: the dinner crowd had begun to calm down. Not as many new faces, plenty of chefs in the open kitchen, 2 managers (or owner & manager), 2 "senior" servers' faces, and a few new faces who generally seemed to understand their role on a busy service day (or were nagged to do so). My negative reactions were based on "food handling" as much as the poor service: 1. 3 different servers handled money & then food: - scooping gelato without gloves - helping package to-go food - 2nd cashier moved directly from the cash register to help the pizza chefs near the ovens 2. A new chef (apprentice?) was spinning dough for a large pie so close to another chef & the front cashier that the dough kept catching clothes' lapels & collars, or sweeping others' hair out of the way. (Yuck!) 3. Cashiers rotating to plating food, prepping orders for food runners, and scooping ice for drinks ... which sat on the counters - waiting, and waiting, and waiting 4. I only saw 1 "senior" server bussing tables, processing & carrying orders, AND washing her hands appropriately. 5. The 1 manager (owner?) who tried to help us move our meal along at our table ... he handled money, his ear-piece, food, and scooped ice into drink cups ... apparently back-to-back without washing his hands. (Yuck!). We didn't notice his pattern until our meal was about half-way finished. 6. One of the dine-in food runners also prepped the to-go orders on the shelves near the exit foyer. We watched him drop the salad for a to-go order ... - hesitate, and then simply close the flaps (flaps fold into a white box, not a clamshell) ... including the innermost flap that had skidded along the sticky/dirty floor (Yuck!) - then continued to combine the remaining 3/4 "clean" salad to the order & tie that order bag closed. - Silver lining: the runner didn't scoop the 1/4 of the salad from the floor into the container prior to closing it. (Yay?) These observations don't even include how our order was delayed, delivered out of order, and of course we had to remind our 2nd server (of 5 or 6?) that we needed silverware to eat AND still needed drinks that we'd ordered. I've given this franchise location (closest to me) 3 chances to get it right. 3 strikes, you're out. read more

I have placed an online order before (hours before the pickup time) and been told that my order "won't be ready for a long time," when I arrived to pick it up. Came for my first visit today with a couple of girlfriends for a quick lunch. I had the mini Mia pizza with a side cup of tomato basil soup. No Hawaiian pizza, so I decided to give the bbq chicken with pineapple a whirl and was not disappointed. I was a little surprised that for the price the pizza was pretty small. The crust and toppings were perfect and the soup was piping hot and also full of flavor. (I think I will come back for happy hour when they are $5.) No change in the rating, rather more of a "note to self." Never pass on the spinach salad (sans bacon) no matter how tempted you are to get the larger pizza deal for the same price (a measly 8.95. What a deal!!) If I had opted for the full pizza deal the other night, I would have missed out on a wonderful side salad surprise (cue my list!) Never have I wished for a bigger salad and less pizza before in my life. That said, the goat cheese/arugula pizza was a bit of a let down. It was too dry, needed that tiny drizzle of olive oil to make it okay. I had asked for extra sauce. I have to say I'd hate to find how dry the pizza would be without the "extra" sauce. I know they are appealing to a healthier mindset here, and for that I truly applaud them. Sadly, this pizza would be why people cannot stick to healthier ways of eating. Love Spin! in Olathe. Is it weird to say that one of my favorite things about this pizza place is the salad? They have a spinach salad that has feta cheese and candied walnuts that is so yummy. Their pizza doesn't disappoint either and there are plenty of options. I usually get the white pizza with caramelized onions and mushrooms. There's a great deal for less than $10 where you can create your own individual pizza plus add any salad on the menu. Their ingredients are fresh and they don't go overboard with dressing or sauce. If you are looking to drink, then I suggest the white sangria. It is delicious with pieces of fresh fruit. I think they still allow you to bring in your own wine. If they do, that's a good deal - you just have to pay a small corkage fee. It's one of the few places in KC that I've found to have an open patio which is nice and the ambiance inside is casual and lively. The staff here has always been amazing. A little over a month ago I scheduled a get together here for about 20 people and I feel sorry for the servers having to corral our rowdy bunch - but they did an excellent job and the manager came around twice to make sure things were going well. I recommend this place for a big group, a date or if you're just craving that candied walnut salad and want to call in an order to take home. read more

While I have eaten here on and off for over a year, fluctuations in our experiences made me delay my Yelp till I had an even-keel perspective I must say that thanks to our most recent visit during 2015 Restaurant Week KC, I now have a firm fix on my perspective. Spin Olathe, on 119th Street, was packed the night we visited, but the service kept up at a smooth pace with all of the workers in efficient and quite pleasant moods.There was teamwork everywhere you looked. The RWKC manu here was for a couple and it was more food than we could consume, so it became a welcome lunch later in the week. The pizza is Neapolitan style. That is fresh, somewhat elastic dough cooks at very high temps and is done virtually in minutes. Toppings are ample and always fresh. After trying many versions (white or red sauces, meat or veggie, add your personal favorites too) I must say our choice is the Tres-Carne (3-meat). A very tasty and satisfying pie! Their salad choices are many, but we've settled on the Sonoma as our favorite with tender red leaf and spinach with grapes, raisins, apples, goat cheese, chopped glazed pecans, Blood Orange Vinaigrette. Before I get too wordy in their praise, let me inform you they also offer small plate appetizers, soups, 10 different salads, sandwiches. Now, I'm not a dessert guy, but I have to RAVE here about their Gelatto! They usually offer around nine or ten fresh flavors. I like the 'double malt', Mackinaw Island Fudge and (Name in lights here) Pistachio!!! Wines are very affordable with a good selection. You may purchase by the glass or bottle. Single glasses are a good pour, most at $7. If you find that you can't finish your purchased bottle, they'll package it up for you to take home. This isn't a Sports Bar, but IS a nice, bright gathering spot suitable for you, and your hungry family or friends to settle into. This is our go to spot for pizza, pizza is always 5 stars. But was very disappointed on our most recent visit on how dirty everything was. Food on the floor and dirty plates left behind on so many tables that it was hard to find a place to sit. I wasn't sure what to get but thankfully Erin made a great suggestion on the chicken and goat cheese pizza. She provided great service and even gave me a few suggestions on her favorites for next time. Food was served very quickly and it was cooked perfectly. Tasted great and Erin's suggestion really hit the spot. I'm kind of a pizza snob so I was hesitant to try a chain restaurant but I am definitely glad I did. Will definitely revisit. The place is very cute and clean...however I hate places that you walk in and it's self serve...and then you sit down and then it's service. It's like...I already ordered and everything and now you're wanting to serve me and get a tip. Makes no sense. We shared a 12" pizza. The chicken and pesto. It was good! With it being Tuesday it was $7.85. It was hot and fresh...it was good. But that's about all I would pay for it. I think it was originally $12-13. We probably won't be back. We got two pizzas and shared it among the three of us. The crusts were crunchy and the pizza's base was crisp. The pizzas came out hot, so hot that the extra Parmesan cheese would melt! He was super friendly and professional as well as offered some helpful pizza reheating tips in a way that was particularly relevant to the desired level of crisp I wanted. OLATHE STORE: Consistency in quality of service has gone down a lot over the last couple of years. It seems like the servers are not trained in how to actually provide excellent customer service during the dining experience. In the past, the servers checked on us; now it's very rare. They just drop off the food, and then if you need anything you have to flag someone down. Now and then you get an awesome server, but that seems to depend on that individual already having a mindset of awareness and great customer service. Not the norm. The food is really good, but often the portions are lacking. For example, the sandwiches are 60% bread, and skimpy on the inside fixings. Sometimes the pizzas are full, but then other times the toppings are way too light, and it doesn't seem worth the price. (Which is a deterrent to returning.) Cleanliness has declined, too. Tables are "wiped" but still sticky or dirty. Seats often have food on them. I don't think they wipe the seats between customers. And as for personal hygiene, yikes, I've seen nose-wiping and people handling food with their bare hands. Sad, it used to be top-notch. What happened? read more

I've visited here several times as we used to live in the area bout 15 years ago and remember Spin! being so good in the past. Things have really changed. Each time I dine in or carry out, I have really poor service - Leaving out drinks empty throughout the whole dinner, never checking back with us, having to get up and ask for drinks, salad dressing, napkins, correcting our wrong pizza order. I wish I could leave a better review but this particular Spin! is really poor in food quality and customer service. There are too many great pizza places in the area to spend a lot of money on a really disappointing experience. Try Dewey's Pizza on 95th for awesome pizza and better customer service. The pizza is really good, I just wish I had gotten the pizza I ordered. I had ordered a water and a beer, neither came. I walked up to the counter and stood around while all staff was just standing around doing nothing. After failing to get anyones attention I assumed the drinks would be brought to me. Food came out, no drinks. I all but chased down a worker to ask for a water and the beer I paid for. I then had to go to the serving station to get myself napkins. # 550 Spin truly personifies Neopolatin Pizza as Americans know it. The wood-fire oven is legit, the crust is sick and the high quality ingredients are bonafide like Popeyes. My favorite item to get here though is surprisingly . . not pizza. It's the salads. Their 1/2 Spinach Salad at $4.50 is a bargain. Add $1.50 more for roast chicken and you have quite possibly one of the best light lunches you can get anywhere in the metro. The freshness again of the ingredients is what's really mind-blowing. Everything is ultra-fresh and the dressings are not over the top. The Gelato here is just stupid good. The flavors are constantly rotated so you are bound to not find your favorite next time you go, but rest assured there's something equally as delicious taking it's place. read more

I always pass this place up to go to Mi Ranchito, now I think twice about going to Mi Ranchito first. Customer Service: Always have had a great experience here. I always appreciate it when I am just about to go empty on my drink and the waiter/waitress fills up the glass without having to ask. It's a small thing, but often missed. I'm at a pizza joint, I knew I should have ordered pizza, DOH! Stone Oven Roasted Chicken with a Chopped BLT salad: $8.45 The bread on the sandwich was nice, soft and plump. (Hard bread is no bueno). The meat was a bit dry, which is why I took off a star. The salad was good; and it was a pretty hefty portion considering it was a side. Busy place in a busy shopping center so parking can be a headache. Note to self, next time, try the pizza! read more

SPIN! Pizza is a great variation to the "fast chain" pizza places we've come to expect. Their fresh and inventive selection of toppings along with the large Neapolitan pizza oven delivers an exceptional pizza. I have not tried the wine but they offer a healthy selection of wines to pair with their dishes. A bit pricier than the average pizza but I've always felt like I get a good value for my money. Anyone with children will enjoy dining here as their kids meals include a tiny gelato dessert. My only criticism would be the servers. I never know who my server is or if they all collectively serve the dining section. I've been stuck a time or two waiting for a refill and eventually resort to just grabbing the next server that walks by. Otherwise I always have a pleasant experience dining here. read more
