    Solid pizza

Pizza was very good: loved the crust, sauce, cheese. The pizza was ready pretty quickly.

    Chicken Pesto Sandwich
    Colleen L.

This is a great option located within Strang Hall. The sandwiches all come with a choice of side salad and you're sure to walk away full. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich with a side Caesar salad. The salad consisted of mixed greens dressed with house-made dressing & garlic toast points. It's also vegetarian. The mixed greens were fresh and the toast points were a nice addition. The dressing was good but it's super garlicky. I love garlic and I'm all about it but some people may find it a bit much. Make sure to grab a mint! You'll be safe from vampires for sure. The chicken pesto sandwich is made up of grilled Chicken breast, pistachio pesto, mozzarella, goat cheese, bacon, and heirloom tomatoes. This was super good and I'd definitely get it again. Fresh and flavorful and not super heavy. It was a great lunch! My dining partner ordered the BossHog which is house-made meatballs cooked in red sauce topped with parmesan reggiano and provolone, served toasted. It looked delicious and they said it was really good. I may have to get this the next time!

Met up with friends at Strang hall and we got a pizza to share from Norcini! If you've never been to strang hall, it's a nicer food court where you can order from multiple restaurants and sit with your friends which is nice if everyone's feeling a different vibe for dinner. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty busy but didn't have to wait more than 10-15 min to get our food. The pizza itself was really good, good portion for the cost and made it easy to share with friends. Would definitely come back!

    Slap's BBQ Pizza
    Joshua J.

Perfect crust makes the experience! I was excited to try their special. Slap's BBQ is a great little KC gem and burnt ends on a pizza didn't disappoint! I'm sorry if my enticing description is not available, the crew here change up the specials (which is good). I talked with Chad and he mentioned he loves to get local ingredients and create exciting combinations.

    Fungo pizza
    Larissa W.

Came here on a Thursday afternoon and ordered the small Fungo pizza and a chocolate chip cookie. I ordered it to-go, thinking I'd eat half and then take the rest home. Boy was I wrong. I took one bite and knew I'd be eating the whole damn thing. The cheeses were buttery, melty, and delicious. The crispy guanciale (similar to bacon) was sooo good. You almost wish there was more of it but then you learn to savor the occasional bite here and there, which balances the pizza perfectly. The cookie was also really good and was the perfect end to the meal. The people behind the counter were friendly and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

    The Hogfather
    Chuck W.

I ordered the hogfather based off the great description and what was delivered is this excuse for a sandwich... It is missing the greens that I read about making this a balanced sandwich. Bread rips your mouth apart. 3:1 bread to meat/cheese ratio.

    Incendio
    Jen H.

Norcini is one of my top two places for pizza hands down. I went with the Incendio single size and a side house salad. Do not let the looks of this cute pizza deceive you. It has some major kick and the crust is so soft and chewy. My salad was full of toppings and the dressing was very flavorful. Perfect meal size for one. My husband had the Bianco. Love that it was thinly sliced sausage rather than crumbled. The white sauce was flavorful and rich but not at all heavy making it easy for a hungry adult to eat most of it alone. We did a kids cheese with kalamata olives and I was a little bummed at the portion for the price but would still get it again because the quality was worth it. Toppings on everything are so fresh and we are excited to go back and try more. Norcini please add more vegetarian options!! Ordering online is easy to do and easy to pick up. Just head to Strang Hall's site and you can order from any kitchen at once.

    Lunch combo. Good value!
    Jaquelyn B.

The perfect lunch combo. Just the right size, LOVED the crostinis on the salad! Very friendly service - the order did take the full 15 minutes he told me. They were busy but just keep that in mind if you're on a time crunch. Next time I'm trying this chocolate chip cookie.

    Spumoni Cannoli
    Azile Y.

OMG the anchovy/peppadew pizza!! This is hands down best pizza in KC. Chef Chad is such a nice humble guy, he came out and talked to us. Update: The Italiano and Fungo are both superb. We thought the cannoli were fine.

    Cheesesteak. No flavor...Bland as hell.
    The M.

Come on guys! Most bland Philly I've ever experienced. You need to ingredients to get flavor. Meat had no flavor as well. Was expecting way more.

    Jordan K.

I tried the Philly cheesesteak from Norcini and for some reason thought it was a Philly cheesesteak pizza not sandwich when ordering on the mobile app (my bad!). I was slightly disappointed when it came out as a sandwich, but it was pretty good! Bread was a little dry but the meat and peppers were juicy and fresh. Next time I think I'd get the provolone instead of the cheese wiz. Another solid option for dinner!

    Pepperoni pizza
    Kimberly M.

This was a little treasure! I saw the review in KC Magazine and it was delicious. Got the pepperoni pizza and Crab Rangoon pizza. Crust is amazing. The best kept secret is their chocolate chip cookies!

    Crab Rangoon pizza
    Angie W.

We tried the crab Rangoon pizza!! It was really good, and will definitely have to come try some of their other pizzas. My only complaint was that the crust was a bit tough. Everything else was great, not too long of a wait for the food, and the prices were reasonable for a specialty pizza.

It's been a minute since my last visit, and I'm thrilled to report that absolutely nothing has changed... and for once, that's actually a compliment. Round 1: The Liquid Diet Naturally, I kicked off my personal Tour of Italy with a couple of custom cocktails. The Elegant Marguerite: Fantastic, but don't let the name fool you. This "elegant" drink has a dark side and can cause a first round knockout. Proceed with caution. The Limoncellotini: Hands down, the absolute star of the show. Sweet, smooth, and hit every single note on the playlist. Pure perfection. Phase 2: The Carbs & Carnage Next up was the appetizer round. I went with the Calamari Fritta, served with a classic marinara and a seriously impressive pesto-style sauce. The calamari itself was light, airy, and practically melted in my mouth. For the main event, I ordered their specialty: Chicken Vincenzo. We're talking lightly breaded chicken with mushrooms, garlic, and herbs and one heck of a flavorful sauce, side-chicked by a plentiful portion of linguine. The pasta was a masterclass in al dente, and this lived up to the hype. The Service & The Happy accident. Our server was fantastic--actually took the time to pour our drinks tableside and drop some stellar meal recommendations. The place was also impeccably clean, as you'd expect. But the real test of a great restaurant is how they handle a hiccup. One of our friends ordered the eggplant parm, but the kitchen accidentally sent out chicken parm instead. Now, they absolutely would have bent over backwards to replace it, but the chicken looked so darn good they just went with it anyway. When a mistake tastes that good, you know the kitchen isn't messing around. 10/10. Will be back to get hammered by that Marguerite again.

The sugo is solid. Arnacini were a little small, but got the job done. My son and wife are big fans of the gnocchi. That dish was big. The lasagna is a smaller portion - about the size of your first, but you can tell the pasta was fresh. Spedini was tender and juice, but even with oil and herbs, there was something missing. There is a old school Italian ambiance with the decor. It works for Overland Park but just seems kind of weird in a strip mall.

Food-wise, I had the Spaghetti & Wagyu Beef Meatball, and our table also got the lasagna and chicken parm. Everything was good and everyone was happy, but for the price (about double most other Italian chains), nobody was really blown away... until dessert. Between the crème brûlée and tiramisu, the entire table agreed that was the standout part of the meal. They were slammed when we went and we had a few service changes because of the rush. Getting drinks and putting our order in took longer than usual, but once we had a consistent server, it was all good. Busy nights happen. They also did a solid job keeping everything clean even during the chaos, and the restaurant itself is really beautiful. I'll be back, but I'm probably coming back just for the crème brûlée. The food was good, it just felt pricey for not having anything that really stood out in portion or flavor for my whole family. I had multiple family members in my party who've eaten here a lot tell me it tastes noticeably different than it used to. They said they've mentioned it to management before and were told changes were made to cut costs, and honestly, it shows in quality unfortunately. They don't plan to come back because of that, but I'll happily return for dessert.

The cheese was a delightful bold contrast to very well blended meatballs. It wasn't extremely creamy polenta but melted enough to eat along with the meatballs. By themselves seasoned goodness. The Toscana chicken breast (bone-in) with sun-dried tomato sauce had that perfect "marry me" flavor -- rich and satisfying. For dessert, we had the Plate chocolate cake with raspberry and pistachios. It was a huge slice, with a rich chocolate flavor. So why not five stars? Despite having reservations, we were seated right by the kitchen where servers pick up food. Made more annoying because the restaurant had a lot of empty booths and tables in the main dining room. The upside was that the pizza ovens kept us warm, but it wasn't the most relaxing spot. There were also a couple billing issues: the tip was calculated on the post-tax total rather than pre-tax. Also our prix fixe dinners included dessert and we opted to upgrade to a different dessert from the menu. Oddly the up-charge was $6, even though the menu price difference was only $3. That said, Plate offers delicious, well-priced food (though the drinks are on the expensive side), and it's still a great choice for Italian food in Kansas City
