    Cheese Garlic Bread

I love Cupini's. It's one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the city. The service is always friendly and fast. They have a good amount of seating and they have a very nice, large outdoor patio. The interior can get crowded because you walk up to order during peak hours but the wait is worth it. They have lots of different items from pastas, sandwiches, pizzas, and desserts. I have my favorites that I order nearly every visit. I love their house salad. It's simple and the produce is always fresh. But I really just order it because I love their balsamic vinaigrette. It's so good. And they do distribute it in some grocery stores. I occasionally buy a bottle. But you can also snag a bottle there along with other items. The lasagna is hands down my favorite. It's meaty, cheesy, and with 6 layers of noodles, substantial. I love that they use a béchamel sauce. And the bolognese is perfection. Which is why I also have to get an order of garlic cheese bread. A carby vehicle topped with cheese to sop up all that delicious sauce, yes please! Make sure to grab a dessert too! I'm partial to the cheesecake slices and the flourless chocolate cake. But I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with any of the options. Definitely stop in if you haven't before.

What an amazing hidden gem in KC! If you haven't tried this pasta spot, it's a must-visit. The regular pasta my husband had was absolutely delicious, and the gluten-free options I tried were surprisingly tasty--something you don't often find! Usually, we don't get to enjoy pasta dinners together because many places don't have good gluten-free options for me, but here we both had wonderful dishes to enjoy side by side. The salad was fresh and flavorful, and the patio area made for a lovely dining experience. This place has quickly become one of our favorites. Great food, a beautiful patio, and thoughtful options that let us both enjoy a real pasta night out together!

I've been to Cupini's for lunch a couple of times and I've always been happy with my meal. My favorite sandwich that I've tried is the Gangster. The flavors work very well together and I find it surprisingly refreshing and light. I haven't gotten anything that's knocked my socks off, but I've always had a pleasant experience.

Such a fun place to bring family and friends! You order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. I had to order just about everything... two entree's, salad and dessert. The spinach and beet salad came with a honey mustard which I thought was going to be a little funky but ended up working well. I have no clue what dessert I ordered, I just pointed at it and said that one please. I don't think you can go wrong on picking a dessert here though. I also ordered a potato pizza and the seafood ravioli. The homemade pizza was so unique, I have never thought to put slices of potato on a pizza before. The seafood ravioli was pretty good, I can definitely tell the pasta is made fresh here. I can't wait to come back and try more.

Cupini's is a hidden gem in Westport that brings authentic Italian flavors to Kansas City! The atmosphere is warm and casual with a deli-style setup showcasing fresh pastas and desserts. We started with the bruschetta (a favorite!), deli salads, and a house salad -- all super fresh and delicious. Highlights included the made-to-order pasta, Margherita pizza, roast beef sandwich, and of course their signature lasagna -- rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. For dessert, we tried it all: cannoli, chocolate chip cannoli, tiramisu, and cheesecake, paired with a splash of limoncello Everything was amazing -- plus, you can buy their fresh pasta and sauces to take home! Highly recommend for a casual Italian experience done right. Great service with friendly staff Follow NEYANVENTURES on Instagram and TikTok to see video reviews of the full experience

    Sausage and Fennel Ravioli

Fresh Pasta, Made to order for enjoyment in their restaurant, Prepared and taken to go, OR bought from the counter and cooked at home for your family! There is nothing like fresh, made in house pasta. If I am cooking Italian, it's easy to pick up their pasta to go and prepare it at home. Last night, my friend and I popped in for a delicious dinner. We started with the Toasted Ravioli ( Meat filled and delicious ) and then I had a house salad and Sausage and Fennel Ravioli. He looked at me and said that I ordered Ravioli twice, and I said " I know, It's Delicious!" When you are dining in, you order at the counter, then they bring it to your table. I then had to pop back up and order dessert. The drinks are self-serve ( coke products, Iced Tea, Sweet Tea ... ) unless you want a bottle of wine, glass of wine, or beer... I don't think they have raised their prices in years ( best value in town )!

Cupini's is a KC Top 3 must try, restaurant bucket list item that all should have! I had failed, in all my years of marriage to bring my NY husband here. This past chilly, snowy Friday we made the trek to Cupini's. It was better than I had remembered. We bellied up to the counter and ordered salad, cheese toast, pasta entrees, beer, Chianti and dessert. After eating at some other older, KC staple Italian restaurants we were pleasantly surprised with the lower cost, with thrice the ambiance as the others. Getting in at around 2:40 we Arrived for a late lunch and had the restaurant to ourselves for about 40 minutes, that was nice! The restaurant was toasty, with an electric fireplace to added extra warmth and a romantic, winter glow ... and the Chianti kept me warm until our piping hot pasta arrived. Caesar and house salad were fresh and fabulous, the pasta and sauce were also fresh and hot. I can't stress enough how much of a difference there is in fresh vs box pasta!!! We ended with a healthy sized cannoli that was delizioso!!! Impressed my hard to impress NY husband which made the trip all the more worth it.

Cupini's was clearly very authentic -- from the moment I walked in, I could tell it was going to be good. The portions were generous for the price, and the fact that it was so busy only confirmed how popular and well-loved this place is. Even though the wait was a bit long, it was absolutely worth it. The lasagna was saucy, packed with cheese and meat, and came in a great portion size that left me full and satisfied. Eating out on the patio was such a nice touch, especially with the live music and the warm, friendly employees who made the experience even better. A must-visit spot for anyone craving real Italian comfort food! I will be back if I'm ever in the area again!

I love the food at Cupini's, whether it's delivery, take out or dine in, everything is super fresh and flavorful. The patio was such a treat (it's huge and welcoming) and the wine selection was good. Our server didn't seem very happy and made us feel rushed (it was close to closing time but there were other tables still there and coming in). I'll definitely go back but I'll make sure to get there before 7pm because they started closing things down just a little after that.

Such amazing home cooked Italian food. I have the chicken piccato and it was seasoned and delicious I didn't want to stop eating it. The portion are enough to share. Whatever you order you must get the garlic knots. The service was fast and enjoyable and it didn't take long to get the food. You are sitting in the past, you see old pasta makers , picture of where the store started as. The TV has a picture of Italy in the background and wine on the walls.

    Bruschetta

The back patio here is perfecttttt. Lasagna is delicious and the bruschetta is my fav I've ever had-- it's so fresh! Would recommend. They also have great drink deals for happy hour.

    Leo N.

Everything was amazing! I had Capellini, Marinara and meatballs with a slice of chocolate mousse.

When you walk in, you order at the counter and take a number to your seat - which is okay! Thursdays are $10 bottles of wine from a certain selection. I highly recommend. I ordered the sausage and potato pizza since that's my favorite Italian dish ever and it was amazing! The raspberry passion fruit cheesecake was the best dessert I have ever had! I plan on going back often!

The dining room is small and cozy, and it has that welcoming neighborhood feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. Reservations are definitely recommended. On our first visit, we ordered carryout. The Roasted Goat Cheese (baked goat cheese with red sauce and oregano) had great flavor, though the crostini was missing from the order. The Lasagna Bolognese was outstanding -- easily some of the best I've ever had. Rich, perfectly layered, and full of flavor with the bolognese, parmesan béchamel, red sauce, and mozzarella. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake was bright and delicious, and the NY-style salted caramel cheesecake was dense and so good. We were impressed enough that we went back -- this time with reservations -- and dined in. On our return visit, we had the Swordfish with lemon caper butter, sautéed greens, and rosemary potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, with bright, balanced flavors and generous portions. We ordered the Lasagna Bolognese again (it's that good), and it did not disappoint. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The imported cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa were perfectly balanced -- light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The service was excellent, the portions were large, and the flavors were spot on across the board. What started as a convenient spot near our hotel turned into a place we'd absolutely go out of our way to visit again. Ragazza truly lives up to its reputation as a local gem.

The Wise Guy describes itself as an Italian tavern and that is an impeccable description because it's laid back, not too stuffy but still a classy joint. The food is stellar, the happy hour prices are great and the drink selection has something for everyone. First off, happy hour is from 4-6 pm Monday-Friday and has some great options for eating and drinking. The appetizers are all $2 off and with reasonable prices to begin with it's just icing on the cake. I would recommend some classics like the mozzarella sticks, which are fried golden brown and filled with ooey gooey cheese -the portion is large enough to share but beware because you won't want to- also, the tried and true Garlic Parmesan Fries are excellent. If you're in a cheesy mood but don't want anything too heavy then the whipped ricotta is a memorable choice, it has a nice tang from the citrus as well as a little bit of sweet heat from a hot honey drizzle. Of course it's served with pillowy fluffy seasoned focaccia bread. Now onto a MUST order! You may think of salads as boring or an afterthought or a healthier side option but, one of my favorite things on The Wise Guy's menu is the Chopped Italian Salad. It is literally just divine. If I'm at The Wise Guy and I don't order it then call the doctor because something is seriously wrong with me. They don't skimp on the toppings so this salad is filling not flimsy. The tangy roasted garlic vinaigrette is something that if they bottled it up I would buy it. The salad is always perfectly tossed and coated without being too soggy or slippery. It's hearty because of the trio of Italian meats that are studded throughout and on top the bed of romaine lettuce, think prosciutto, soppressata and capicola. The holy trinity of cured meats if you ask me. There's also briny peperoncini peeking through and chopped up squares of creamy provolone cheese adorning the top. If my ode to this salad didn't convince you then I don't know what else will! Just get it! Next up is the drinks, at happy hour they do $10 martinis which is a deal worth celebrating especially when there are a few to choose from. My all time favorite and most ordered is Amalfi Coast which is a fruit/citrus forward martini but, is always well balanced and strong. I love the slight sweetness from the peach infused vodka which pairs so well with the intensely citrus forward limoncello, these flavors are all balanced out with the herbaceous notes of basil. It's finished off with bubbly prosecco which makes it effervescent instead of syrupy. Last but not least are their pizzas, you didn't think I could cover an Italian restaurant without mentioning pizza did you? This also happens to be one of the best happy hour deals, all pizzas are $15 when some are normally priced as high as $25. The pizzas have a thin tavern style crust which is how I justify almost eating a whole one the other evening. My favorite pie is the prosciutto mozzarella, which is simple but notable. The prosciutto is crispy and not chewy or stringy, the robust red sauce as the base is comforting paired with the melty mild creamy mozzarella cheese. And to top it off a generous helping of fresh basil brightens it up a bit. Though this one is my personal favorite all four options The Wise Guy offers are incredible, you really can't go wrong!

The rigatoni was a little too al dente bordering on chewy, but some people prefer that. I do think they could benefit from some better tables for three or four people, there is mostly just bar seating and 2-top stool seating. We had a server who was a bit awkward and it seemed like she was trying out different accents on us, which was a bit weird and confusing and it threw off our table's conversation every time she stopped by. It is really good. Really solid, good service, and a good restaurant to check out. Put it on the to-try list. One area that didn't fully land for me was vibe-wise, or if I need to act my age, I could call it the atmosphere. It's such a small space (totally fine) but the back row of tables is essentially shared. Normally fine, but the night we were there we were right next to a large group that was super loud. Kinda dampened the energy, and felt better when they left. Basically, wanting date night but the energy here is more "brasserie" and slightly more casual than I expected. Anywho, the food was good. Loved the focaccia starter with a garlicky olive oil. The Italian salad was pretty good, a bit marked up on price, but pretty good. I had the chicken parmigiana and wanted to love it, but I'd say a solid four stars. Good, not great. The red sauce was very good, and the serving size is generous. Passed on dessert and headed around the corner for after-dinner cocktails. All in all, a great neighborhood spot where I feel the prices are a bit high, but I see most of the appeal. I thought this might be a regular spot in the rotation, but it's more likely to be an every now and again kind of spot.
