This is LEGIT Pasta! Ambiance and the vibe is just kool. All pasta is hand made- generous portions and great value. Had drinks too bar gas plenty of options. Although they ask $2 you need the grilled ciabatta for the pasta sauce left over. Will be back!

Came for a late lunch on tuesday and there was plenty of seating. I was got a table right away in the beautiful restaurant. You can tell they love fine details just by looking at the decor. I ordered the Focaccia and Paccheri. The focaccia has to be the best ive ever had. I've been to a good amount to fine dining Italian restaurants, but this Focaccia blew me away. The Paccheri was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I've been craving a bolognese pasta for months and this definitely hit the spot. Im hooked. This is probably one of my favorite Italian restaurants in KC and the service was outstanding. Definitely will be back!

Nestled in the trendy Brookside neighborhood this restaurant has a lot to offer. I did make reservations on a Saturday and I was glad that I did This place is bustling no empty table to be seen. There is seating at two small bars to accommodate people with no reservations. The pasta was incredible and the sandwich sandwiches are delicious photographs below. And the cute postcard at the end I'll definitely be back. Thank you kindly for your service.

4 stars because service was a tad slow. Everything we had was delicious though. Had some lemon drop martinis that weren't listed on the menu but they made for us that were great. Also had some ice coffee and regular which were good . The flavor profile of the focaccia was amazing, like nothing I've had.

This Italian restaurant is cozy and sexy. Popped in on a first Thursday. The crestwood shops stay open later from May - Oct and have a live band performing on the sidewalk. Popped in for drinks and apps. Great wine selection. Shareable apps. Busy restaurant- reservations recommended. Sat at the bar - Sean was our server and he gave great recommendations. Split the wedge salad - which was a unique version. I think I like the traditional better but glad I tried it. Also split the Rosa pizza. That was delicious. The complex flavors melded so well together. Not many gf options. Some vegetarian options. Will be back for dinner and will try to remember to take more pics. Great for dates, happy hour, celebrations. Tip: happy hour is from 3-5 mon - Fri.

Partially eaten tiramisu and olive oil cake- I would highly recommend the tiramisu!

Came here for my birthday dinner with three girl friends. The restaurant is cozy. I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time; the only evening time on a Saturday that I was able to reserve two weeks in advance was 5pm. When we arrived, it was pretty empty, but it quickly filled up. We ordered the focaccia to start, and then I ordered the linguine and clams for my entree. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and olive oil cake. Definitely order the focaccia- it was filled with cheese, and came with a delicious dipping sauce of olive oil, balsamic, and garlic confit. The linguine and clams was pretty good, but I wouldn't order it again. The tiramisu was delicious and was a huge portion. The olive oil cake was a little savory, which I didn't love, but my friend did. Overall, we had a nice dinner and the service was good. I also like that they offer non-alcoholic mixed drinks, along with reasonably-priced glasses of wine.

It took me long enough to get here and I have to say that the hype is real. It's taken forever, but in recent years KC has finally gotten some really great Italian restaurants, Bacaro Primo included. Now what sets this one apart in my opinion is how European it feels. When you walk in, it's small, and if you're going for dinner I'd assume you'd want a reservation. As we had it, I was there for an early-ish lunch and there were plenty of spots to choose from. We were seated in the main dining area and it was cozy with a European charm. Our server was prompt and friendly. There was some confusion over if they could serve a cappuccino, but that wasn't a big deal, and we settled in for some really great sandwiches. The only reason I'm giving 4/5 stars is just for the price. I had one meatball sub with fries and a water. With a 20% tip it was approximately $30. I do know that inflation is absolutely wild these days and I don't doubt that they are doing their best to keep costs reasonable, while still paying their staff a living wage, etc. but for me, it makes this a special occasion kind of lunch spot, when I feel like if it was closer to $20 for a nice lunch I'd be more likely to add it into a regular rotation. At any rate I know I'll be back - likely for dinner as if I'm going to have a spendy meal, might as well take it up a level and go for a nice dinner with cocktails and appetizers as well.

Super small and cozy Italian restaurant! They have a variety of different options from pizza, pasta, and sandwiches. They also have quite the wine and drink menu. It is small so definitely plan on making a reservation if you don't want to wait. The focaccia was nice and crispy with cheese melted in between served with garlic infused oil. The paccheri was delicious, the ricotta was smooth. The chicken parm was also amazing, plenty of cheese and chicken.

We had reservations here on a Saturday evening. Everybody from the hostess to our waiter was so friendly. Wonderful food, great service and lovely atmosphere. We all shared several items. We split the meatballs and focaccia as an appetizer. The pizza and pasta we had for our meals were excellent. It was all delicious and we enjoyed our experience!

This is one of my new favorite restaurants. The food was absolutely delicious. My friend and I split a pizza, the pasta on special and the arancini appetizer. It was all amazing. I love the intimate cozy vibe inside, plus the service was very attentive. I can't wait to return!

Absolutely amazing!! Maybe the best Italian I've had in KC. Kind of hard to get reservations because it's a small place but well worth planning ahead. 3 of us shared the featured bottle of Rose for $44 which in restaurant terms is reasonable! Then we shared the foccacia which was absolutely delicious with the garlic schmeared on top. Then we shared the rosa pizza and the crust is so perfect. The sausage was a little spicy for me but I just pulled it off. Last we shared 2 pastas that our waitress recommended. One was the bolognese and the other was a very light cream sauce. Both were amazing!!! We were stuffed and passed on dessert but I will definitely be going back!

A fellow foodie told me this week that her favorite restaurant is Bacaro Primo. So that encouraged my wife and I to visit the restaurant today. We were lucky to arrive on a Saturday afternoon without a reservation and found a table available. The restaurant's small dining room, plus its strong reputation, makes it tough to snag a reservation. The family seated next to us were raving fans of BP. They pointed out their favorites on the menu. We ordered the Panzanella Salad and it was exquisite. In fact, I would have been happy to order a second. What stood out was the warm butternut squash and croutons, and the spicy honey dressing. We are ready to crown it world's best, it was that unique and good. When I visit a new Italian restaurant, I order the Margherita pizza. It's a classic and showcases the amazing crust and sauce. The Rigatoni wasn't what we expected. It almost appeared to be a vegan dish. I was expecting a meatier sauce. It took 20 minutes to serve our salad and another 20 minutes for our pizza and salad. Our server Madison was great to work with. And I was impressed the manager on duty stopped by our table to check on our satisfaction. I'd love to bring several guests for dinner where we could order more items from the delicious menu.

The dining room is small and cozy, and it has that welcoming neighborhood feel where it seems like everyone knows each other. Reservations are definitely recommended. On our first visit, we ordered carryout. The Roasted Goat Cheese (baked goat cheese with red sauce and oregano) had great flavor, though the crostini was missing from the order. The Lasagna Bolognese was outstanding -- easily some of the best I've ever had. Rich, perfectly layered, and full of flavor with the bolognese, parmesan béchamel, red sauce, and mozzarella. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake was bright and delicious, and the NY-style salted caramel cheesecake was dense and so good. We were impressed enough that we went back -- this time with reservations -- and dined in. On our return visit, we had the Swordfish with lemon caper butter, sautéed greens, and rosemary potatoes. It was cooked perfectly, with bright, balanced flavors and generous portions. We ordered the Lasagna Bolognese again (it's that good), and it did not disappoint. For dessert, we tried the Tiramisu, and it was hands down the best I've ever had. The imported cookies, mascarpone, espresso, and cocoa were perfectly balanced -- light, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The service was excellent, the portions were large, and the flavors were spot on across the board. What started as a convenient spot near our hotel turned into a place we'd absolutely go out of our way to visit again. Ragazza truly lives up to its reputation as a local gem.

The Wise Guy describes itself as an Italian tavern and that is an impeccable description because it's laid back, not too stuffy but still a classy joint. The food is stellar, the happy hour prices are great and the drink selection has something for everyone. First off, happy hour is from 4-6 pm Monday-Friday and has some great options for eating and drinking. The appetizers are all $2 off and with reasonable prices to begin with it's just icing on the cake. I would recommend some classics like the mozzarella sticks, which are fried golden brown and filled with ooey gooey cheese -the portion is large enough to share but beware because you won't want to- also, the tried and true Garlic Parmesan Fries are excellent. If you're in a cheesy mood but don't want anything too heavy then the whipped ricotta is a memorable choice, it has a nice tang from the citrus as well as a little bit of sweet heat from a hot honey drizzle. Of course it's served with pillowy fluffy seasoned focaccia bread. Now onto a MUST order! You may think of salads as boring or an afterthought or a healthier side option but, one of my favorite things on The Wise Guy's menu is the Chopped Italian Salad. It is literally just divine. If I'm at The Wise Guy and I don't order it then call the doctor because something is seriously wrong with me. They don't skimp on the toppings so this salad is filling not flimsy. The tangy roasted garlic vinaigrette is something that if they bottled it up I would buy it. The salad is always perfectly tossed and coated without being too soggy or slippery. It's hearty because of the trio of Italian meats that are studded throughout and on top the bed of romaine lettuce, think prosciutto, soppressata and capicola. The holy trinity of cured meats if you ask me. There's also briny peperoncini peeking through and chopped up squares of creamy provolone cheese adorning the top. If my ode to this salad didn't convince you then I don't know what else will! Just get it! Next up is the drinks, at happy hour they do $10 martinis which is a deal worth celebrating especially when there are a few to choose from. My all time favorite and most ordered is Amalfi Coast which is a fruit/citrus forward martini but, is always well balanced and strong. I love the slight sweetness from the peach infused vodka which pairs so well with the intensely citrus forward limoncello, these flavors are all balanced out with the herbaceous notes of basil. It's finished off with bubbly prosecco which makes it effervescent instead of syrupy. Last but not least are their pizzas, you didn't think I could cover an Italian restaurant without mentioning pizza did you? This also happens to be one of the best happy hour deals, all pizzas are $15 when some are normally priced as high as $25. The pizzas have a thin tavern style crust which is how I justify almost eating a whole one the other evening. My favorite pie is the prosciutto mozzarella, which is simple but notable. The prosciutto is crispy and not chewy or stringy, the robust red sauce as the base is comforting paired with the melty mild creamy mozzarella cheese. And to top it off a generous helping of fresh basil brightens it up a bit. Though this one is my personal favorite all four options The Wise Guy offers are incredible, you really can't go wrong!

I appreciated that they had a text feature to let us know that our table was ready. We shared the fries, a caesar salad and the rigatoni alla vodka, and the fries were a shining star! The rigatoni was a little too al dente bordering on chewy, but some people prefer that. I do think they could benefit from some better tables for three or four people, there is mostly just bar seating and 2-top stool seating. We had a server who was a bit awkward and it seemed like she was trying out different accents on us, which was a bit weird and confusing and it threw off our table's conversation every time she stopped by. Definitely want to come back for a happy hour!

They are so soft, like savory little, melty potato marshmallows. I'd love to know how they make them. And the meatballs - absolutely get two and add them to the dish! It's a perfect combo. Our host also ordered an antipasti platter for us, which was fantastic! It had two kinds of olives, mini roasted peppers, marinated olive oil, and cheese cubes. That along with the warm, soft, Italian bread with butter was a perfect start to the meal. I also had the Tiramisu for dessert.
