The wait for my reservation for over a month was well worth it. The pasta was so fresh and pillowy, service was perfect, and the view was very special to me because I felt like I was back visiting the Lower East side in NYC. We ordered many things to share and were not disappointed. They even gave me anchovies to accompany the Caesar salad, I just love the extra saltiness. Cozy atmosphere and vibe. Definitely would recommend!!
We were lucky enough to snag a reservation here and it did not disappoint! From the moment you walk into Zero Zero you feel like you're in a family member's kitchen. The space is small and cozy with thoughtful seating throughout. We started off with the Hugo spritz and zzp marg. Both were excellent and had that little something extra that kept you coming back for more. For apps we got the focaccia and caesar salad, unfortunately I didn't get a picture because the husband was ready to eat. They were both even tastier than they looked with special props to the focaccia for being the best bread ever. For mains we got the spicy vodka and lumache alla norcina. They were both delicious but the lumache was our favorite. It somehow got even better at dessert, my version of heaven is their amaro date cake. Oh my gosh we could not get over how good it was! If we're lucky enough to get a reservation again then we most definitely will be back!
Zero zero truly exceeded all my expectations. I'd heard nothing but wonderful things and I had relatively high hopes going in. The restaurant is about as small as I expected, if not smaller. It is a tiny place but it almost adds to the experience. It's very intimate and perfect for couples. I would absolutely not bring little ones here. We started with the Caesar salad which was great. I highly recommend getting it. I'm sure any appetizer they offer is just as tasty though. For the main, my boyfriend had the lumache alla norcina which was very good but we both agreed my dish (the agnolotti) was the star of the show. The sauce was absolutely incredible. I usually don't reorder the same dish when I go back but I will absolutely be ordering it again when I come back. We finished with the tiramisu which was about as phenomenal as you'd expect. It was truly the perfect birthday dinner from the service to the food to the vibe of the whole place. I'm really looking forward to coming back to zero zero.
We were able to get a patio lunch reservation today and it did not disappoint! We got the focaccia, spicy vodka radiatori, chitarra alla gricia and tiramisu. The focaccia was amazing and made me wish I had more! I feel like it's a must order! The chitarra was our favorite! The flavor was amazing and something I feel like we can't make at home! The spicy vodka was amazing as well and would recommend if that's your vibe! The tiramisu was creamy and everything you want in a tiramisu! 10/10 recommend going to zero zero and they offer to go to heat at home if you're not able to get a reservation!
I loved this place! All the food was delicious. I especially loved the Caesar salad and spicy vodka pasta. Our server was very helpful and friendly. It's very small inside, but charming. Perfect date night spot or patio (weather permitting) is also a nice option. Keep in mind, you have to make a reservation which come available 30 days in advance on their website. I would definitely recommend going!
I would say that Zero Zero probably ranges between 4 and 5 stars depending on the day. I don't know if it really deserves the hype that it currently has (waitlist for reservations, etc), but it's a cute spot for a casual, intimate date. The space is still very small, so be aware.
First, service is over the top amazing. Second the food.. yea it's that good. Third.. the intimate setting makes you feel as if you were on vacation in Europe. This is one of those places where you should order everything on the menu then have proper left overs. Definitely on my top 10 list in the KC metro. Come check it out
Delicious! They have limited seating, so reservations are basically required. Patio reservations are released the day before, and we snagged one. The menu is straightforward. They have a limited selection of items as the restaurant kitchen is tiny. We ordered almost the entire menu and we ordered a second round of focaccia, as there are 3 pieces per order. Our server was delightful and she guided through lunch. I loved my pasta. I got the Lumache alla Norma. The sausage is flavorful and pasta delicious with the white wine and touch of cream. The Cesar was basic and shareable. Of the three desserts the Amaro Date Cake was my favorite. The coffee is single serve.
I've been trying to get into this place for a solid YEAR. I was so pumped when we finally got our reservation booked! This was such a fun experience, as a foodie I love to try everything I can fit in my belly. We started off with THREE appetizers. The focaccia with whipped butter, the popular Caesar salad and pesto rosso burrata. Honestly I could have passed on the Caesar salad, it was delicious but not worth the extra $14 in my opinion. I would recommend getting both the focaccia and the burrata, they pair very well together. For the main course we ordered the lumache alla norcina and the chitarra alla gricia. I feel in love with the norcina! I also got the side of the homemade chili crunch, highly recommend. It adds this perfect texture and spice to the dishes. Everything was so fresh, I don't think I've ever experienced anything quite like it. We had to finished the night off with some dessert, so we ordered TWO! The classic tiramisu and the date cake. That date cake was so sweet and just over all a perfect dessert for me. It came with local fairway creamery ice cream and toffee bits on top. I couldn't have had a better time at this place! I hope they open up another location to help open up reservations.

However, I think it's the intimate overall "scarcity" experience that drives some of the love for zero, zero. You have to book 30 days in advance or else join the wait list. The arincini was amazing, everyone at the table should get one. The ceasars salad was more acidic than creamy, so I liked but didn't love it. The highlights were the Norcini and the agnoloti with butternut squash. We ordered a second round of the agnolotti because it was too good to share. Spicy vodka wasn't memorable or spicy. The desserts were good, the chocolate mousse was great. A definite unique experience everyone should try at least once. It feels special when you're there. I look forward to returning on a beautiful evening when we can eat on the patio.
KC's hottest restaurant is Zero Zero. I had heard of this little slice of pasta heaven from a friend while we were walking through the neighborhood a few months ago, so I made a mental note. Little did I know the reservations are hard to come by. I missed out on the Restaurant Week seatings, so I took the soonest available, which was a few weeks later on a Friday at 12:30p. Booked immediately. The space is a tight squeeze with about 12 as the capacity, so initmate is a good way to describe it. If you're a solo dinner, it's probably better as you'll have the chance to sit at the counter window facing the street. It makes you feel like you're in a little European town watching the bustle go by. If you're a social person, you might get to chatting your next seat neighbor, and if you're lucky like I was, they'll share the focaccia app you didn't order. Since I popped out of work for a longer lunch, I wasn't able to try any of the alcoholic beverages, but they sounded tasty. I did my best to try what I could of the menu, so the game plan was caesar salad, the lumache, and dessert (I went for the cheesecake at the suggestion of my server). I don't think there are any wrong choices here, though. Just follow your gut, and you'll be happy. There's a richness to the sauce on the pasta, and every ingredient blends into perfection. I showed restraint, knowing I'd have to eat my whole dessert, and took the remainder of the bowl home. While eavesdropping on another table, I found out there are more pasta varieties for dinner, so keep that in mind if you're reading this. Overall, absolutely worth the hype. Can't wait to come back when it's warmer out to sit outside.
We finally made it to Zero Zero Handmade Pasta (reservations are HARD to get) and it lived up to the hype! We ordered the focaccia, Caesar salad, spicy vodka pasta, butternut squash ravioli, and tiramisu, and honestly loved every single dish. The focaccia was warm and flavorful and almost fruity, the Caesar was simple but done really well, and both pasta dishes were standout. The spicy vodka had just the right amount of heat, and the butternut squash ravioli was rich and comforting without feeling too heavy. The tiramisu was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant only seats about 10 people inside, with more seating in the summer when the patio is open, so it feels very intimate and relaxed. Service was quick and attentive without feeling rushed. We were in and out in about an hour, which was actually really nice. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. This is one of those places where you can tell a lot of care goes into the food, and we'll absolutely be back.
Amazing food and service. I had a lovely time at Zero Zero. I was finally able to get a reservation on the patio. Reservations for the patio open daily. I attempted getting an inside reservation but they seemed to already be filled even when I checked right when the website said they should be going live, a month in advance. The reservation experience was so frustrating and annoying that it deterred me from wanting to go in the first place. Somehow I made it anyway. The food was really good. We tried the focaccia and burrata which were both amazing. I would recommend ordering both together as the burrata is really rich without the bread to eat with it. If I were to go again, I would also order the chili crunch to eat with the appetizers as well as the pasta. I also tried the Caesar salad. It was good but I could live without having it next time. The pasta was fantastic and lived up to the hype. I tried both the lumache alla norcina and the chitarra alla gricia. I loved how the sausage was perfectly browned in the lumache alla norcina. My favorite of the two was the chitarra alla gricia. The sauce was so creamy and full of peppery flavor. Even though we were already stuffed, we still had to go for dessert. We tried the tiramisu and the date cake. The tiramisu was classic but the date cake was unforgettable. It was a perfect combination of gooey warm Carmel covered dense cake and fresh ice cream.

I've enjoyed Zero Zero's pasta at home several times, and was eager to actually get to the restaurant. Wow, did it not disappoint... The Arancini was excellent to start. For my entree, I chose the Chitarra Alla Gricia, and the server recommended pairing it with the Syrah. Again, excellent. I also enjoyed sharing a bowl of the Vodka Radiatori. I left full, happy, and with Tiramisu to go. If you find yourself with an opportunity to go to Zero Zero, don't hesitate to book that reservation. The food, the service, the patio; all great. read more
We had an amazing first visit to Zero Zero! It took me months to get a reservation, but it was definitely worth the wait. The staff was so kind and courteous and the food was phenomenal! We had the focaccia and burrata to start, then the spicy vodka radiatori and a special pasta with a cream sauce since we don't eat pork. We finished with the Amaro date cake which was absolutely stellar! We can't wait to be back. Two things that could be improved: the space is quite tight and we were almost touching elbows with the table next to us. I hope to see this wonderful establishment expand someday! There were also quite a few pork based entrées and pastas on the menu, but we were very grateful the staff was able to substitute another pasta for us so we weren't left with only one pasta option to choose from. It sounds like the menu is seasonal and changes throughout the year, so hopefully there will be more options next time. What a cute and quaint spot. If you can get a reservation....make it and go. My reservation was for the counter and I enjoyed it. The counter is right at the window but it's okay. The food was delicious. I ordered the focaccia for an appetizer and had the lumache Norcina and it was amazing. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse. Amazing. And for drinks I had a Negroni and something else from the menu but I forgot (oops). Noise level is minimal because it's an intimate spot. Just go! read more

Tiny space, but honestly the lack of elbow room doesn't matter when you're focused on your pasta. What a lovely experience from the friendly service to the beautiful plates. The atmosphere is well light during the day with the large window seating. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly, had a good bite without being too chewy, and was paired so well with the sauces and accompaniments. The side of chili crisp was delicious and had a perfect heat to it with the Calabrian peppers, we took it home and used it on quite a few dinners ourselves!. The portions were perfect for an app, and added dessert..not too full, and felt great all evening. Was able to purchase some raw pastas to go to enjoy at home from the take home market inside. Waited a month for our reservation, and it was worth it! Will be back again for dinner. read more

First off - the service. One of the most attentive and friendliest servers I've ever met in KC. He helped explain the menu and recommend dishes, and the dishes we got were great. The seating was nice - we sat outside, but there were patio heaters that kept the area warm. There's a tiny bit of seating inside. For the food - the pasta dishes were creative enough and thoughtful. Not a huge menu which I thought was fine. The dessert we got was their form of chocolate ganache/mousse - I liked it overall, but the olive oil was somewhat unusual. I would probably come back for a special event. It's a nice spot with good food and fair pricing. Reservations are probably the hardest part. read more

Finally scored a reservation at Zero Zero Handmade Pasta, and let me tell you -- it was absolutely fantastic!! We had the lumache alla norcina, spicy vodka radiatori, Caesar salad, focaccia, and tiramisu. Every dish was incredible. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the flavors instantly brought me back to our vacation in Italy. The Caesar salad was fresh and lightly dressed, which made it really enjoyable. The focaccia was baked to perfection with a crisp exterior and soft center. And the tiramisu? Easily one of the best I've ever had. The service was amazing, and the restaurant itself was so cute and quaint, making the whole experience even better. read more

Truly worth the wait to get a reservation! I don't have enough words to say how phenomenal the food is! Kansas City's best kept secret. Sometimes when you have to fight for a reservation, the experience can be a letdown because there is so much anticipation. This is not one of those places. You definitely need a reservation and expect the space to be very small. We were seated right away and had friendly and quick service. As many have said before, the Caesar salad is one of the best in the city. Of course, the pasta is the start of the show. I had the agnolotti which was incredible. There were so many different flavors and textures that went together so well. My friend had the spicy vodka radiatori which was very nice as well. Definitely worth the fight for a reservation! read more

Came here for my birthday dinner after making our reservations 30 days prior (that booked out within 5 minutes of opening up) and so glad we got to come in and try it! While everything we had was delicious, it wasn't life changing like everyone made it out to be. Seating is very tight as they can only fit about 12 people in there but it really didn't feel like we were on top of others like I expected it to be. Our server was very helpful in making suggestions for us and we loved everything we had. Because of the hype around it, I had pretty high expectations and do think I've had better Italian in KC but loved the intimate feel of it in there and definitely worth trying out! read more
I have become Zero Zero's informal cheerleader and cannot recommend it enough for lunch, dinner or classes! The chocolate cremeux is an absolute must, and I especially like their Spicy vodka radiatori and aglio e olio! The space is very cozy and small, but the servers are very attentive. One pro tip is that reservations open thirty days in advance at 9 AM, so although it takes a bit of planning, you can get reservations! read more

You would not believe it, but I didn't have a reservation and got seated (visit 08/2025): Food: 5/5 The food options are good. It tasted like a friend made me food. Great portion too. Atmosphere: 4/5 This is ideal for dates (esp if you have reservations) but not for big groups. I think I would feel bad if I stayed there longer because of how tiny the space is. They have free street parking! Bathroom is so tiny but it was fun having a little "field trip" to get to it. Service: 4/5 It was great because I was not denied when I arrived. I was unaware of the rolling advanced reservations to be honest. I only found out about it once I started sharing on my social media that I got in without any reservations. I wish they respond on their social media too (especially when customers or potential customers send questions). Their phone number is non existent, so where else can we ask questions? 5 stars isn't enough! Everything about Zero Zero is 1000/10. The caesar salad is out of this world. Every pasta is rich yet light, and the flavors make you just want more. I've been several times in person, gotten it to go and purchased from the OP Farmers Market... I will always be back!! I love to bring a new person with me to watch their face when they take their first bite :) The cozy inside and lovely patio outside is the perfect girls night or date night. The staff makes the whole thing come together for the perfect time. read more
We had an exceptional experience on our recent visit. We have been following their success for a few months and finally made a reservation for lunch on a Sunday. The inside is very small but we really enjoyed the decor and a peek into the kitchen. Its a true scratch kitchen with everything made in house. We started with a glass of wine and the foccaia bread. Absolutely loved it. The next course was the Ceasars salad. The dressing has a nice lemon zest crispness and covered with shredded parmesan cheese. Instead of croutons it is covered with bread crumbs that give each bite a nice crisp. We ate every bite. The main course was the Lumache Alla Norcina. It was so good. The pasta was prepared perfectly al dente. A perfect balance of sauce and Italian sausage. We finished with the cheese cake and the tiramisu. Very delectable. The staff was excellent and made you feel right at home. It was truly a 5 star experience for us. read more

Handmade pasta is hard to come by in Kansas City, and Zero Zero is one place that does it well. Though you are dining in the tinest space possible and you are going to be very close to other tables, and you'll want to make a reservation around 30 days in advance - it's definitely worth the wait. Everything is plated beautifully and the presentation is an accurate representation of how the food tastes. The Lumache Alla Norcina was especially flavorful with the sausage and the Spicy Vodka Radiatori was a good pairing to balance out the saltiness (in a good way) of the other pasta. The pastas were not too heavy and focused more on the flavor (rather than overwhelming your tastes with cream). The focaccia served with whipped ricotta and honey was honestly just as good as the pastas were - so don't forget to order that as your appetizer! read more
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. The small space makes it hard to get a reservation but once you do it's so worth it. It feels like you're at a private dinner party and the staff is so welcoming. The food is amazing. From the presentation to the flavors, 10/10. read more

I absolutely loved my first visit here. I walked in without a reservation and asked if I could sit at the window. Ian hesitated for a second but made it happen for me which I really appreciated. The vibe gave me big Greenwich Village energy and honestly I was here for all of it. I did try to check them out online before I came and when I clicked the reservation link it just showed me the menu. Maybe it was my phone but it was not clear how to book. Ian's pause made me think they prefer you reserve so next time I will use Open Table and skip the confusion. The space is tiny but charming. I did not count exactly but maybe five tables inside plus the window bar and a few more out front. It feels cozy and just a touch exclusive. I had two glasses of prosecco the dreamiest focaccia with honey butter and a Caesar salad so good I asked for extra dressing and almost drank it. My pasta was creamy garlicky cheesy and just did what needed to be done. I took a slice of cheesecake to go and it was perfect later too. The view from the window shows a peek of the KC skyline and I know it has to look gorgeous at night. Now Ian knows that menu like the back of his hand. He was helpful direct and had just enough dry attitude to remind you this is not your chain Italian joint. It gave a little air of you better know what you want or at least trust him to steer you right which I respect. If this spot was closer to me I would probably be there every week. Easily my favorite pasta place in the city right now. Already planning my next visit. Pull up hungry trust the vibe and let Ian's lil attitude keep you humble. read more
Holy crap - I am still on a high from my visit to Zero Zero. It was my first time here but with all the rave reviews I went in with high expectations. It was one of those times that it absolutely lived upto them. My boyfriend and I got almost everything on the menu - the arancini, focaccia, and the Caesar salad to start. All of them were excellent. The arancini was a surprising favorite. It was so flavorful with the sauce on the bottom. We also got all 3 pastas available. One was a spicy vodka, one was a bolognese type, and one was a buttery/flavorful sauce that was so rich in flavor and unlike anything I've ever had. The spicy vodka was probably our favorite but they were all so good. We ended with the basque cheesecake - wasn't anything mind blowing but it was perfectly sweet and wrapped our meal nicely. I strategically got a Friday night reservation 30 days ago so I'm going to be strategizing once again because I can't wait to go back here. 10 million out of 10, no notes. read more

It's good. But not life changing. I feel like the reason there is so much hype is due to the limited seating. "Scarcity effect" The pastas are good but the sauces and different options were lacking. However the service was outstanding. It was a fun vibe. The inside is pretty cute. But with such limited seating you have to make a reservation 30 days out. When they open the reservations at 9 am the whole day was booked within seconds. Literally seconds. We had to settle for a lunch reservation. It's fun. It's good. But simply not worth all of the hype or stress of making a reservation. Which is required. read more
Have been wanting to try for a while but getting a reservation is hard due to limited seating. Server, Ian, was fabulous and gave a great explanation of their concept, menu, and other offerings. The dining room is intimate with only room for 12 people, but there is plenty of outdoor seating available on a first come basis. Cocktails are amazing and use local distilleries, which we appreciated. Appetizers are on the small side, so we got 2 to share, Caesar salad and focaccia with whipped ricotta and honey. We each got a pasta entree and split a dessert off their limited menu. The fresh pasta was amazing and will continue to purchase at the farmer's market or at the restaurant. I wasn't, however, blown away by the sauces or the below average tiramisu. Fun experience. read more
