Tried the chicken burrito here and left wondering why I paid so much for so little. The chicken was dry and flavorless, and there wasn't nearly enough of it to justify calling this a "chicken" burrito. No dressing, no sauce -- just a bland, disappointing wrap. For the price, I expected fresh, seasoned meat and a well-balanced filling, but what I got felt more like an afterthought. First time trying this establishment. Wife & I got a BOGO deal from our insurance agent, but too bad neither of us expect to go here again. We both had their brisket tacos...3 medium sized tacos with tasty fillings and good beef wrapped in crispy shells + soft tortillas. $11 no sides. I added an upgrade which stated a 4th taco and extra meat in each. I did get a 4th taco, but the portions of meat in my tacos seemed the same as my wife's. The soda machine was out of order; no tea offerings, just ice water. Not a big issue. Have had restaurant soda machines down at other establishments at times. At least the H2O was free. ;-) Here's the 2 issues the caused us to decide never to go here again: 1. No salt available. 1 common pepper shaker! Went out to car to get into our own traveling stash. Food with tomatoes, but no salt? A big loser for me. 2. I asked for jalapeños on the side. Very friendly and accommodating order taker added that, but charged 50 cents for what I found out was just 4 slices of a jalapeño pepper when it was served. If we hadn't had a BOGO offer and the soda machine had been working, our lunch would have cost us right at $38 including a cheap $2 tip at the register for 7 medium tacos...and no salt for food with tomatoes on it? Hmm. We could've eaten at an authentic Mexican restaurant with servers and gotten twice as much food and with sides for around $45 including a customary tip. read more

I got the Seasoned Beef Burrito , nice manners and good service but it was a little odd considering the person behind me got their food before me. Food and portion size , you can get WAY MORE food for WAY LESS money at chipotle. The ground beef in my burrito was super chewy and tough to chew . So, FPO and I took a break from KC BBQ and tried, upon the recommendation of my favorite sister, Twisted Fresh. FPO ordered a Four Alarm Burger with one side (Street Corn), saw the cookies they have in the display, and so ordered 2 snickerdoodles. Apparently, if you order 1 cookie it's $0.75, order 3 and it's $1.75 ... we learned this after a closer look at the menu board. Would've been nice if the cashier had mentioned it too. I ordered the Mahi Mahi Taco. I'll start with FPO's order. The four alarm burger turned out to be more of a 1-1/2 alarm except that all of the jalapeños were clumped together in one spot of the burger. But, the burger was cooked perfectly and so was completely devoured. The street corn was so so and the snickerdoodles were dry. The verdict? Probably wouldn't order any of it again. My Mahi Mahi taco was a bit of a disappointment. They have a hard corn tortilla inside a soft flour tortilla. Between the slaw, pico de gallo, and sriracha honey aioli the taco is so liquidy everything is a soggy mess. It also took me a while to find the fish, there was hardly any of it in the taco. Looking on the bright side, the Cajun spice on the Mahi was pretty good, just not enough. I wouldn't order it again. I saw they have some safety protocols in place. The staff wears masks (but then they pull them down when it gets hot), they use gloves, which is nice. They have a sanitizer bottle available for customer use, unfortunately it was empty. And it looked like they practice social distancing. They had some tables blocked off. Would I try Twisted Fresh again? I'm leaning towards no. I can say I tried it and it wasn't for me. And there are just too many other places out there to explore. read more

Chicken Cashew Avocado can be done several ways and I chose the salad but it's probably better as a wrap. The grilled chicken was good, but the avocado was over ripe and brown. Cashews, cheese, & tomatoes weren't fantastic but as you'd expect. Didn't taste the fresh basil and the mixed greens were a bit wilted but still edible. The sriracha sauce dressing was what saved what was really a bland meal. It's not really spicy but has a delayed small kick by the end. The street corn was decent, it had an overall good flavor. My lunch go-to when I need healthy, but want more taste than a salad or typical grain bowl. Every single dish I've had is PACKED with flavor. My forever favorite is the mahi-mahi tacos. They cook all meat fresh (seriously, watch them plop raw meat straight onto the grill in small batches for each individual order) and the texture and flavor really shows that. The tacos come in a basket of 3 and are the perfect mix between sweet, spicy, and savory. If you're low carb, you can get them without the shell made into a salad - I've done this and it's just as good!! Okay, enough about the fish tacos. (The Kung pao chicken wrap is another favorite and their broccoli salad is a unique menu item I love) - but moving on from food, it's also excellently priced. I usually pay between $9-12 total for a meal here. For the amount of food, I'm very happy with that. If you're looking to eat here for lunch, make sure you order ahead or you have the time to wait because this place is popular. When I dine-in I usually wait about 15-20 minutes at lunch rush between 11-1pm. Otherwise wait is about 10 min (remember they're cooking that FRESH food!), which is not long at all, but it's still nice to know what to expect so you don't stop in in a hurry. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this place and will keep frequenting it myself. read more

One of my favorite place for wraps in the greater Overland Park area! Beats Longboards by a long shot. The flavors are great, the wraps are packed (almost too packed--might opt for a bowl with a wrap on the side instead next time), the prices aren't too bad, and there's a good mix of veggies and meat. Make sure to pick up a drink or some water because some of the wraps can be on the dry side, but generally speaking, Twisted Fresh is a solid place for a quick lunch. read more

This was a quick take-out order. The mahi mahi tacos were super delicious, and the slaw was so fresh! But they were messy! One could argue they were overfilled, but not me! I enjoyed every last bite and had 1 1/2 meals out of the order. Just get a fork with it! I wasn't expecting a hard taco glued inside of a soft taco using melted cheese, nor would my healthier self chosen such an option, but it was pretty good! For trying to find a local lunch spot with lots of flavor and quick, twisted fresh hits all the marks. I order the buffalo chicken wrap and even got a side of their chipotle sauce to taste. The wrap had the flavor notes I was looking for. Classic buffalo sauce flavor with hints of blue cheese crumble. Now the special / unique part of the meal was the Charred chicken. Good to order and real grill marks that have taste. I honestly would get a grilled chicken plate if it was offered lol My wife order the twisted meal special which was mango shrimp tacos and for under $10, you get 3 big tacos that she enjoyed but couldn't finish. You know the old Air Jordan commercials where Spike Lee is trying to convince you that "it's got to be the shoes" in regards to Jordan's basketball abilities? Twisted fresh is like that but "it's got to to be the burgers." I have had the wraps which are good but the burgers are what keep pulling me back like the Death Star's tractor beam. I don't think the burgers will make me a better baller but they will make satisfied. And that's all I ask from a burger. Was pleased to see that this location was practicing great caution in response to COVID-19: shields between staff and customers, hand sanitizer, masks required for all, contactless payment, and socially distanced seating options. They even have a designated customer restroom and an employee restroom. Had read other Yelpers note that the wait time was rather long, but I did not experience this. Perhaps that was due to COVID-19, but it was welcomed nonetheless. I ordered the chicken gyro wrap with a side of the broccoli salad. Broccoli salad was slightly dry and a small portion - I'll order chips next time. The wrap was solid - good flavor, fresh, and light. The only criticism I have for the wrap was that it fell apart rather easily while eating. I took the tab for my lunch and my mentee who joined me, and it was a little pricey for the amount of food you receive. Total with tip was around $30. Still a solid meal, but probably won't frequent Twisted Fresh too often. read more

Twisted Fresh is a go to for me when ordering for a work lunch event. We have ordered from them several times and everyone loves it when we do. Their wraps are fresh and made with great quality ingredients. If you're watching your carbs you can get the wrap made into a quinoa bowl or salad instead. One of my colleagues has a gluten allergy and they are always accommodating and make her something special. I've consistently ordered myself a wrap and I can't pick a favorite. So far I've had the Cobb, the West Coast, the Spicy Thai, and the BBQ. Several of my colleagues like their tacos, so I just may have to try those next. read more

I've now come here two times. The location is a little out of the way for me, but I think it was worth the drive. The first time there I got the Cajun chicken tacos. They were great! The chicken wasn't dry, and it was well seasoned, and all the vegetables seemed really fresh. I also liked that they used both a soft and hard taco with cheese in between, it gave a really nice texture. There were two house sauces, one "green pepper" and the other "chipotle". The green pepper is a nice Tabasco esk sauce while the chipotle was WAY strong in a weird black peppery way. I can't explain it but it wasn't good. When I went the next time I got the jerk chicken wrap, which was just a burrito. Don't let the menu fool you, the wraps and burritos are the same. It was good, the pineapple was fresh, but the sauce in it wasn't my favorite, and I didn't finish the burrito. The service is super fast and the place is clean. The prices are very reasonable. I would go here on a lunch break, and I would suggest it to friends. read more
