Ok y'all - new favorite taco spot. I've been here like 3 times in the week and a half. I've been trying local taco shops around Olathe and so far, this place is a cut above the rest. The chicken tacos are sooo good! They are filling, flavorful, and moist. There are also several cabinets full of homemade Mexican fresh-baked pastries. I've tried a few, and while they're not personally my favorite, I do know that they're very popular. The service is very friendly, especially if you want help picking out any pastries. They'll explain to you what each one is and make recommendations. And even though this place is tiny, it seems to be perfect for the amount of in and out traffic they have. Great taco place located inside a small panaderia. Food came out quick and fresh. Got the doraditas which were nice and crispy and the meat was very tender and delicious, the consomé could use a bit more chili and flavor but was fine with the added lime. Heard about this place and had to check it out. We were in for an amazing experience. First, let me say we went for the Tacos, on Taco Tuesday. The tacos were only $1.50. I think they are regularly $1.75. Now they were small, however they were packed with meat. I got one of each: chicken, steak and pork. They were great. The chicken and pork were excellent, the steak was just okay. Come on, where can you get a great taco, these days, for only $1.50. Even taco bell charges more. I was full after the 3 tacos. Very friendly people working there. Limited seating inside, however we found a table and some chairs, so no problem. In addition, it is also a bakery. I am going to say this is the style of Mexican bakery that I have seen before. You grab a big circular pan, like a pizza pan, and some tongs. They you go and pick out what you want, put on the pan, and then go to the register to pay. Everything looked good. However, we were too full to try anything, maybe next time. I enjoyed the delicious tacos at this fairly new, family operated food truck, but the service was inefficient and slow. My four pollo (chicken) tacos ($1.99 each) had generous amounts of perfectly cooked meat on fresh, warm, double layer tortillas. The order was packaged nicely with lime wedges, salsa and utensils. Unfortunately, the truck has a habit of opening late and was ready to serve with only one person in the truck taking orders and cooking at 11:20 am. The second employee arrived at 11:40 am. My order took 30 minutes to prepare, which seemed like forever while waiting in the heat. The menu offers a selection of Mexican favorites including tortas, birria, burritos, quesadillas and tacos with eight protein options. Unfortunately, no prices were listed on the menu so I asked at the counter, where there was a language barrier. We were in search of barria tacos around the Olathe area instead of having to drive all the way to Kansas City. Street Tacos popped up on my search. I guess it used to be a taco truck, but now they have a store front. When you walk in, to your left are five window top seatings and that's it. No table tops. To your right are delish Mexican bakeries. Straight ahead is where you order. The menu doesn't have prices on them except for Taco Tuesdays where tacos are $1.50 each. There was a nice lady who took our order. We ordered 4 asada tacos, 1 order of doraditas, 2 barria tacos, and 1 quesadilla. The doraditas order came with 4 doraditas tacos with consome was my favorite! Omg, the best tacos I've had in awhile. They don't skimp on the meats and fillings. Everything I ordered was delicious! I can't wait to go back again to try different things on the menu. For the amount we got, the price wasn't bad at all. We did order all of this to go, and it took less than 15 minutes. You can call ahead and order for faster service, but we didn't mind the wait. Don't forget the pastries and bread for dessert! Overall, yummy and tasty food. I've had this place several times and every single time it tastes amazing! I've had the doriditas, the burritos, the quesadillas, the rice and every time it tastes amazing. The main lady who I'm pretty sure is the owner is always very nice and makes sure to listen to you and your wants and makes sure she provides you with a good experience. I love supporting this place and I always tell everybody to go here. They make your food really quick and fresh for you as well. Really tasty torta, by far the largest I have seen and it literally had everything on it (sausage, flank steak, avocado, etc.). Pastor tacos were also nice, I would be happy to eat here again. I also prefer spicy, but their mild tomatilla sauce was really good when I tasted it, their hot sauce also was very good. Just a few tables to eat at and the place is certainly not fancy. Service was friendly, I have the impression the owner or a manager helped me at the register at 8:30 on a Friday night. Finally, the place is also a bakery and I wish I lived nearby because their baked goods looked amazing. Anyone near Olathe should be trying to pick up their cinnamon rolls (they have traditional American baked goods along with traditional Mexican items). I was excited to eat an original torta from this place because they advertise that they have real Mexican tacos and tortas, but the torta didn't taste as good as a real torta from Mexico, believe me I know how a torta from Mexico should taste. Too many ingredients, the meat was hard to bite into, flavorless and cold. I also bought an horchata and it tasted like water with a little bit of sugar. Not good! My sister picked up dinner from Street Tacos and brought it over to our house Friday night. It was delicious! My husband and I shared an order of the Birria tacos (comes with 4), 2 pollo (chicken) tacos, and 2 pastor (pork) tacos. The Birria tacos are sensational with the little cup of broth to dunk them in. The Pastor tacos were fantastic as well - I was most excited for the Birria tacos, but the pastor were just as tasty! The pollo tacos were very good as well - not sure if I'd get them again, but only because the Birria and Pastor tacos were so outstanding! My husband enjoyed the chicken tacos as much as the other two, though. What I really appreciated was how generously stuffed all of the tacos were. I feel like often with street tacos it's not a good value for your money because they tend to be small and underfilled. That was not the case with these though!
