I enjoyed the delicious tacos at this fairly new, family operated food truck, but the service was inefficient and slow. My four pollo (chicken) tacos ($1.99 each) had generous amounts of perfectly cooked meat on fresh, warm, double layer tortillas. The order was packaged nicely with lime wedges, salsa and utensils. Unfortunately, the truck has a habit of opening late and was ready to serve with only one person in the truck taking orders and cooking at 11:20 am. The second employee arrived at 11:40 am. My order took 30 minutes to prepare, which seemed like forever while waiting in the heat. The menu offers a selection of Mexican favorites including tortas, birria, burritos, quesadillas and tacos with eight protein options. Unfortunately, no prices were listed on the menu so I asked at the counter, where there was a language barrier. Overall, I'm thinking two stars and rounding up for the tasty tacos and the reasonable price.

We were in search of barria tacos around the Olathe area instead of having to drive all the way to Kansas City. Street Tacos popped up on my search. I guess it used to be a taco truck, but now they have a store front. When you walk in, to your left are five window top seatings and that's it. No table tops. To your right are delish Mexican bakeries. Straight ahead is where you order. The menu doesn't have prices on them except for Taco Tuesdays where tacos are $1.50 each. There was a nice lady who took our order. We ordered 4 asada tacos, 1 order of doraditas, 2 barria tacos, and 1 quesadilla. The doraditas order came with 4 doraditas tacos with consome was my favorite! Omg, the best tacos I've had in awhile. They don't skimp on the meats and fillings. Everything I ordered was delicious! I can't wait to go back again to try different things on the menu. For the amount we got, the price wasn't bad at all. We did order all of this to go, and it took less than 15 minutes. You can call ahead and order for faster service, but we didn't mind the wait. Don't forget the pastries and bread for dessert! Overall, yummy and tasty food. Support your local small business.

I've had this place several times and every single time it tastes amazing! I've had the doriditas, the burritos, the quesadillas, the rice and every time it tastes amazing. The main lady who I'm pretty sure is the owner is always very nice and makes sure to listen to you and your wants and makes sure she provides you with a good experience. I love supporting this place and I always tell everybody to go here. They make your food really quick and fresh for you as well. I highly suggest coming here if you love tacos, burritos, or quesadillas!

I am going to have to force myself to explore the menu more. I have done Taco Tuesday and gotten several tacos. There's many options. - A Hidden Gem for True Taco Lovers -…read more (Maria makes tamales on Thursdays - must reach out directly for preorders) I had the absolute pleasure of stumbling upon El Taco Riendo and meeting the warmest, most welcoming family -- Jasmine, Maria, and their kind crew. From the moment I walked up to their bright and inviting food truck (parked conveniently in the Kohl's parking lot), I could tell this was going to be something special. Let's start with the food -- these are hands down some of the freshest tacos I've ever had. The tortillas? Nemo's fresh and made daily, soft yet perfectly sturdy to hold generous portions of meat and toppings. The meat? Juicy, seasoned to perfection, and cooked with the kind of care you can only get from people who truly love what they do. And the salsa -- oh, the salsa! Vibrant, layered in flavor, with just the right amount of heat. You can taste the passion and tradition in every bite. One thing that stood out to me was how clean and organized their truck was. As someone who eats at a lot of food trucks, I really notice when a place takes pride not only in their food but also in their space -- and El Taco Riendo sets the bar high. Everything from the prep area to the condiments station looked spotless, and that just adds to the confidence you feel ordering here. It's not just about the food though -- it's the experience. Jasmine and Maria greet you like old friends, remembering faces and making every customer feel valued. Their hospitality feels effortless, and that's rare in a world where so many places rush you through the process. If you want to support a small, local business that's serving up authentic flavors with heart, El Taco Riendo is it. You're not just getting tacos -- you're getting a little taste of their family's love and pride on a plate.

Inside, the space is airy and vibrant with great acoustics and a chill little bar area that sets the perfect casual vibe. We started strong with the drinks. My friend went with the house margarita while I opted for the spicy pineapple jalapeño. Both were so incredibly good that skipping a second round wasn't even an option--we doubled up! Our server was wonderfully patient and attentive, gracefully making a few extra trips to our table while we hopelessly debated what to order. I finally settled on the Pollo Relleno, which came loaded with Mexican rice, refried beans, and a taco. My friend grabbed the tres crispy tacos paired with charro beans. When the plates arrived, the presentation was a little messy--but what it lacked in looks, it more than made up for in flavor. Excellent drinks, solid comfort food, and great service. We'll definitely be back!

The flavor balance is true Mexican flavors not American, which means authentic pop of balanced flavors! Booth behind had Coconut Margaritas. I always get the top shelf Margarita and my wife gets the cheapest one. The color and unique flavor of the Top Shelf is pretty unique. Both don't have that overly sweet candy taste. They taste so authentic. We then had to try the Coconut Margarita. I'm not always an island drink person, but it looked too good with the toasted coconut rim. It was so good and perfectly balanced to not be so sweet. The waitress said that was due to them making their own blends. We eat here all the time. I have had Mexican food all over the country in the best areas and this is the best! If I could invest in the expansion of this restaurant, I would.

Respectfully, nothing was fundamentally wrong with the food, but it didn't distinguish itself. I'd eat there again if nearby, but wouldn't travel for it. Service was good for ordering and receiving time. From order to table was approximately 10 minutes which is exceptional considering the quantity of food ordered. The tables needed to be wiped down, and the table service was pretty much non-existent. You order your food at a register, seat yourself and that's that. No waitress or water; you have to buy bottled water. Price point was ~$65 for the taco platter and another ~$10 for the quesabirria tacos. This filled up the family of 4 with leftovers. There is a condiments / salsa bar but customers ran through it and there was mixed food between all the containers. The pickled red onion has their own kick to it which I enjoyed and their salsas/hot sauces are good. The decor is pretty straightforward, tables and chairs, with typical music you'd expect from other Mexican restaurants. Futbol on the TV's and old movies on others. There is a chef at the opposite end of where you order your food, hats off to that man he was very receptive and worked very hard. He helped with getting our table wiped down, our waters, and to go stuff for our leftovers, if he sees this, I want him to know I appreciated his efforts. This review is for my first time experience in Overland Park. I do not know if this is normal or because it was a Sunday that this is what the experience is but I will say, If they offered free water, had a busser, and kept the place more tidy it easily would elevate the rating.
