I have been to the OP location and now several times to the Olathe location since it opened last year. It is close to home for me. I'm such a fan of the surf and turf burrito. It's huge! I can get 2 meals out of it. It's stuffed with steak, shrimp, and other veggies and such. I try to get something else but then I always can't resist getting it! I am going to have to force myself to explore the menu more. I have done Taco Tuesday and gotten several tacos. There's many options. I'm usually attracted to the street taco style but I have also gotten the gringo style and it is very good too! I love the birria and pastor. I got chicken and added black beans, yummy! You can't go wrong and they are $1 off each on Tuesday. I need to do Burrito Monday!! Everyone is always very nice when I pick up my order. I use the app and it's so easy! The restaurant is always clean either plenty of seats. They have some cool merch too! I need a tshirt and cap! I'm a big fan of Tiki Taco which o discovered thanks to Yelp! read more

I've always really enjoyed Tiki Taco, which is why my experience today was so disappointing. They have changed the bowls they serve their meals in, and the difference is HUGE. The old bowls were large and wide, with plenty of room for all of the ingredients. The new bowl is so small and deep that it honestly felt like I was eating my meal out of a cup. It wasn't satisfying at all. Everything was crammed together and mixed up, and it actually changed the entire taste and experience of the meal. Part of what made these bowls so good was being able to taste the different ingredients and combine them how you wanted. In this container, everything just became one big mixture. I could barely even find the shrimp I paid extra for. I also ordered extra rice, and there is absolutely no way what I received felt like an extra portion. I normally cannot come close to finishing one of these bowls in one sitting. I can eat quite a bit and you can barely tell I've touched it. Today, I ate the entire thing in one sitting, which says a lot about how much the portion has changed. I understand restaurants sometimes have to make changes, but serving the same meal in a significantly smaller container while customers are still paying the same price--and paying additional charges for extras--is incredibly disappointing. I have pictures of my previous bowls compared with the one I received today, and the difference is obvious. I really hope Tiki Taco reconsiders this change. I used to look forward to these bowls, but eating out of what feels like a cup is just not the same meal or experience. For the price, this was extremely disappointing and definitely not what I've come to expect from Tiki Taco. read more

Checked out Tiki Taco today. It was great. Staff was very helpful with suggestions as we were first timers. Inside is very bright, colorful, clean and inviting. We got a KC Burrito and Chicken Quesadilla. Really enjoyed the KC Burrito it has rice or fires. Per the staff suggestion I went with half of each. For the protein I got Al Pastor. Burrito was very big. Meat was tender and flavorful. It was a darn good burrito. We also got a Chicken Quesadilla. It had a lot of meat and cheese. Big serving. One of the best Quesadilla's we have had. Also, they have 4 different sauces to pick from. I got the medium. It was good Not sure what took us so long to try this place, however glad we finally have. This was a fun spot. The patio was nice for sitting outside. It's a little weird how you have to order here. I prefer table service over having to go in to the window, but it worked. The team was friendly enough. The tacos were a good value, and had a decent flavor. I tried the shrimp and the fish, both are good options. The toppings were fresh and crisp. We got some I Kind gift cards so we decided to use them here. We were greeted cheerfully as we entered the half-packed restaurant. There's a counter to place your order or you can skip the line and order electronically. I ordered a couple of tacos- Grilled Shrimp and Birria. Chris had the Thai Chili Pork Burrito and Rhi had the Surf and Turf Burrito. I loved the Grilled Shrimp taco that I had to get a second one. This place was a whole vibe from the waiter to the food and drinks. We went on a late, cold night so it was empty, just me and a friend, and the waiter was mad nice and talked to us the whole time. I ordered the Party Time drink and it was sweet, giving tropical island vibes. 5 stars, but started bad. So I placed an order online, KC Burrito, Cheeseburger Burrito, taquitos and two drinks. When I went to pick up my order, the way the to-go drinks were packaged they leaked in the bag and one of the burritos had rice instead of fries as I selected. I was already home so wasn't going to take them back. Now the good. Taste wise, this was legit. The ground beef in the cheeseburger burrito was seasoned to perfection and worked perfectly with the fries in it. The beef in the KC burrito was ridiculously tender and flavorful. The taquitos were thick with juicy chicken in it, with Baja sauce for dipping. The drinks were extremely strong and solid for $9+ each, whom ever made these deserves a reward. Received a survey post order and stated how my order was incorrect and the spilled drinks, the manager Jason replied the same day and show elite customer service. That alone will have me returning and shows there are businesses out there who do still care about the customer experience. There is literally other Mexican restaurants in the same shopping center, but Tiki easily stands out. read more

We decided to have Tiki Taco cater our party for about 22 people. We ended up having 25 at our party, which included some young adult males who can eat a household in one day lol. I thought for sure we would run out of food, but Tiki Taco provided ample amount for our party. The food was incredible. The Al Pastor and chicken were well-seasoned, the corn and black beans were the perfect side dishes, and the churros were the perfect ending. But more importantly, the service from the workers helping me carry out to the car to the manager who made up for not having the chafing service, showed that they really seem to care about the customer. We are having another party in October and we already know that this will be our go-to place. Plus with the little bit of leftovers, we ended up having that for breakfast!!! The food is pretty good. I wouldn't say there's anything SUPER special about it, but I am fond of their mild tomatillo salsa, and the menu has a lot of variety in the meats you can choose. Their margaritas are also great, and with a lot of different flavors. I sat down to order some food to go, and the bartender, Ellie, was fantastic. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your order's just right. Love that this spot is much more spacious with plenty of seating and easy parking. Such a gem! This is the second location we've been to and the food is incredible! This is the first location we've been in and it was so fun! We had ordered our food to go but when we got inside, it was too cute not to stay and eat! The vibes are super fun and retro and family friendly. The service is quick and staff are super friendly! We got a burrito and a bowl and both were so good! They allow for substitutes on each item which makes it easy to accommodate dietary restrictions and get an item you truly enjoy! We each had enough food to take home for leftovers too, which was really nice. Such a good bang for your buck! Plenty of seating inside and close to a dozen tables out front for outdoor seating. Food can be ordered at one of the counters or via a touchscreen near the counters. There's a full bar menu, though limited seating at the actual bar at this location. Food and drink wise we had: house margarita, house marg with passionfruit, beer, tiki fries, cheeseburger burrito, and several tacos. The drinks are always great - lots of flavor options for the margs! The avocado taco is delicious - the tempura avocado is fried to perfection, and the toritllas held up really well with all the toppings! Cali style burriots mean fries are an option as a filling - would definitely recommend! The tiki fries were also a table favorite - you can't go wrong with loaded curly fries. Do check for specials! There are several throughout the week; Friday is $25 house margarita pitchers! Do note that it gets BUSY during prime dining hours / weekends. Expect a wait for a table if dining in and some possible confusion on food. It did take the staff a few tries to get all our food out and our correct orders. read more

We stopped by for dinner last night. The atmosphere is nice though I really hated the seating. I don't want high tops and I don't like long booths where I'm to sit next to other people,maybe that's just me though. They were out of Pepsi zero and some other soda and they didn't have unsweet tea so I opted for water. I decided to try the nachos and they were fair at best. They are about 2 to 3 dollars overpriced. The queso was OK but mostly cold and the shredded cheese was kind of like an afterthought. It would've been nice if that would've been melted. I added steak as my protein and I really would've enjoyed it more. It had been a fine small chop, but the pieces were huge and the knife cuts were not consistent and I had two pieces of steak that were fairly grizzly and again the steak was pretty damn cold. Sadly, the hot any extra hot salsa isn't very spicy. My husband had the fish tacos and he thought they were OK , but fairly small. Bottom line is they are certainly better than Taco Bell. They're about the same quality as Fuzzies. The employees were very nice, which is definitely saving Grace and will probably give them another shot a month or two down the road. Very hard to leave a 5 star review anywhere. The restaurant is a bit confusing when you walk in but immediately an employee walked us through the process. We ordered: - avocado taco - Korean taco, - dripping birria taco - tempura shrimp taco - chicken tiki bowl They asked if we wanted sides of salsa, that was nice because it's something we forget until the food is in front of us. They have mild, medium, hot and hotter. I would say their hotter is not that spicy but to be expected. Their chicken tiki bowl was fantastic. Our favorite taco was the tempura shrimp and birria. The avocado one is definitely for avocado and creamy lovers. The Korean taco was way too sweet. Overall, the food was good and service was legit. I like that staff pretty much left us alone but catered well to us. Bonus: free chips and queso if you sign up for their app. Queso and chips came out, no issues. However, the person that brought the food out said our chips were too crushed and bought us more chips without asking. Kuddos to him for going above and beyond with service.
