I absolutely love the Olathe location, so I ordered from this location during my lunch break in Overland Park. My lunch was over $16 and honestly one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. I paid extra for grilled shrimp, and they were cold, chewy, and extremely overcooked. My bowl was almost entirely rice. I did order extra rice, but that didn't mean that's all I wanted. There was barely any of the other ingredients -- just a tiny amount of beans and corn shoved into the corner. I was honestly shocked at how different this location was compared to Olathe. I almost took it back, but leaving work again during lunch just wasn't realistic, so I tried to eat what I could. Most of it ended up in the trash. NO guacamole which comes on the bowl. Highly disappointed overall. I also work with and interact with a lot of people daily, and I will definitely be spreading the word around my company about this experience. read more

My husband and I stopped into this location, we usually frequent the Shawnee location. I ordered the shrimp tacos that are listed as gluten-free and my husband ordered the same. Their shrimp size is good, they have a bit larger shrimp than other places that offer shrimp tacos. They have a good flavor and I like their mild sauce. The only thing that I noticed is that their corn tortillas seemed just a bit greasy. The restaurant was clean and vibrant. We had very good service from the guy that worked the bar where we sat. You order in the back right corner, menus are sitting on the counter. We were greeted and had a lot of questions that were answered throughly and honestly. I want to try EVERYTHING on this menu, and that is very rare for me! I chose Crunch tacos, steak and chorizo and a Birria taco. Also the Carnitas street tacos and some chips and queso. The chorizo and ribeye steak were equally amazing! Honestly may be the best chorizo I have had outside of Mexico. Carnitas great as well, my fiancee crushed them. I chose three different items to sample, the Ceviche tostada, Thai Fried Chicken taco, and a Thai Chili Pork burrito. This is located in a really nice neighborhood of overland Park downtown area, but you need to be careful with the parking because it's limited parking spots there. I wonder why I never had a chance to go to this place before because literally this place looks like an old school diner experience and it looks really really cool. We obviously ordered a lot of food there along with the tacos that we got some of the must try that I felt was grilled chicken quesadillas. The grilled chicken was amazing and that and the Baja fish tacos are super good. We tried a bunch of different salsa all the way from mind to super hot loved the experience. The staff is super friendly and the service is outstanding because they were always checking on us since it was the first time that we visited our place. You can tell everything is made fresh to order w fresh ingredients. I ordered a fish taco, a birria taco, the thai chicken taco, and the surf n turf burrito. You can do fries, rice, or half and half. For dessert was the high hopes collab chaco taco which was amazing! You must get it after every meal! The cocktails are great too bc they are made right in front of you if you sit at the counter. My cousin and I had just wrapped up taking our girls to the zoo and thought we'd pop into their location on Troost for a better lunch than what we could find at the Zoo. I remember being pleasantly surprised by the fun flavors, the reasonable price, and the really vibrant colors of this fast casual spot. For most of the year door dash from their OG location has been my treat when I work late nights and need a quick and tasty dinner. Flash forward to 2024 and I'm so thrilled to have this new Tiki Taco location a stone's throw from my house. The taco gods have shone light upon me! Last time I worked a late night I ordered online and it was ready for me when I arrived. I love how they renovated this space to be just as bright and cheery as the location on Troost and the carry out was ready right on time. I liked the many familiar and somewhat unique protein options, the fast service and the reasonable prices during my dine-in lunch visit on their second day of operation, but there was room for improvement. My chicken tiki bowl ($9.99) was served just a few minutes after I ordered at the "order here" window near the back of the dining area. It was nicely sized at 7" x 2.5" with a good variety of healthy, fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, I was overcharged for taxes ($1.91 on a $9.99 item), the small plastic spork utensil made Taco Bell look premium, the print size on the menus was extremely small, the order process doesn't ask if you want a receipt, there were no menu boards at the order window (just small print menus) and my choice of salsa was served in a very small, half full container - WTH? Larger salsa containers or a salsa bar would be nice. Also, if you are looking for complimentary chips and salsa, then you need to look elsewhere. The service at the counter was accommodating, with a satisfaction check at the table and an offer to provide another small container of salsa. I found the dining area to be clean and nice with a long, L-shaped bar, upbeat, modern background music and a nice patio area, but the dining area got pretty loud in there pretty fast. This location should do well. I love that I have another Tiki Taco option that is close. This location is also open 7 days a week which is another big win for them in my book. The location is smallish but they have a few seats outside which will be nice when the weather warms up. The staff are all friendly and efficient. The food is on par with the other locations. I had a house margarita with salt that was perfection. I also tried the sweet chili Thai shrimp taco and a ground beef chimi. Both were good and I'd order either one again. We ordered takeout so not the full dining experience but from I saw the place looked great with a full patio on this beautiful weekend day (a fairly small restaurant but a fun vibe for sure). We loved the food! First of all, kudos to the team here for the beautiful photos of their food on their menu/Yelp page. I had the chimi with chorizo as it looked good and not something I encounter at all Mexican restaurants. DELICIOUS and I found it even more filling than I anticipated. My wife really enjoyed the tacos and said "this might be the best queso I've ever had." High praise. I enjoyed the queso as well. It was all also very reasonably priced.
