I was incredibly happy when this place opened up, and my days of fighting with the apartment building washer and dryer came to a close! My brother and I frequent this place, and it ROCKS! Why, you ask? Let me tell you! 1) SUPER friendly attendants! Ages ago, on my first visit, I had barely walked through the door with a clueless look on my face when I had help buying and loading my first card. 2) It's CLEAN!!!!!! No dryer sheets lying on the floors, no trash, surfaces of the machines are kept clean and I don't think I've EVER seen anything on the floor. Bathroom is always spotless. 3) Plenty of baskets to shuffle your laundry about - have never had to wait or search for one, even when it's been crowded. 4) Television! Now I can watch a sports game while I do a chore I really dislike. 5) Electronic Card System, so you don't have to deal with quarters and the like. 6) Reasonable prices for machines that work like a charm. In our apartment building machine, I get wrinkles and soap marks on all my laundry - not at this place! Plenty of multi-load machines and single loaders. 7) Free wi-fi! I've not actually had the chance to use this yet because I don't want to lug my laptop with my unmentionables, but fantastic regardless. 8) Complimentary coffee, and you can play the lotto while you're there. 9) Working air conditioner! I actually don't mind doing my laundry in the heat of the summer, and would spend all day sitting in there with the way that air blows, if they'd let me! 10) Haven't used it yet, but there is laundry service! I really like this laundromat, it's clean and safe, i never feel like someone is going to steal my things as the owners are always there. They have a nice easy card system that means i don't have to have quarters! Only not to great part is that people might be too friendly, and i am not always in the mood to talk on laundry day! :) Also, i do wish they had more seating, sometimes i am stuck sitting outside and then smokers will come so i then go stand inside to wait for my laundry to finish. read more

Ok I read the reviews while I was there and honestly I don't see what the big deal is. Sorry but the place seems pretty average to me. It was cool that they let me take the carts out to my car and I had already kind of expected wifi. I just moved to Long Beach this year and I'm still getting used to Laundromat attendants. In HB they usually don't have anyone working, which is nice because when there are attendants, they're usually pretty weird and don't do much to keep the crazies out. The attendant here was nice, a little too talkative but generally helpful. I really thought that if I read the Yelp reviews that I would find out the really cool stuff that I must be missing. I found this place because of Yelpers and was in dire need of a dryer since my clean, wet laundry had been supposedly drying in a dryer with no heat. 1. Hours are unbelievable (they were the only place open past 9pm!) 2. Alonso, the attendant, helped me as soon as I came in (because I obviously looked flustered and confused--due to prior non drying incident) 3. It's clean, bright, and very reasonably priced. This is by far my favorite laundromat in Long Beach. It's always really clean because there's always an attendent present. The attendents are very friendly and helpful. The prices might be a bit high but I think it's worth it for the cleanliness. My only complaint - but this applies to pretty much every 'card' laundromat is the cards worked at all of them. I totally agree with Jim, the debit-card/coin-less/ATM/$5 bill only deposit method is a great example of poor execution, but after you get a handle on it, making sure you have a 5-note and forgetting your quarters is easy-cheesy. I'll also be honest that I totally have made the switch from similar coin-based laundry mats to Spin Cycle almost entirely for the Internet. It would be nice if there was a reasonable food source other than over priced vending machines and a 7-11 across the street, but do you want to be informed of the digital world or well fed? I'll starve thank you very much. My only real complaint about this place is that it closes about an hour earlier than I would like, but you can't have it all. I'd also say that some of the staff are on the verge of annoying along with the patrons. Kinda disappointed with my last visit. About half of their washing machines were out of order! And this isn't the first time I've seen several machines out of order. They just put up a cute little explanation sticky note as to why it's not working - but when you're in a hurry, and you've been sucked in to using this place because you have a card with a balance that you paid to use, it's not convenient when over half of the machines aren't even working and you're having to compete to use the ones that are with the other patrons. Very frustrating indeed. If you're thinking about starting your laundry relationship with this place - I'd seriously consider it. It's a nice facility, but the "3 load" and "6 load" machines definitely do not carry that much laundry and it's not a quick and easy visit. read more

I typically do my laundry in my building - so I may be rating this a bit harshly. But after reading the reviews I expected Laundromat Nirvana. Granted the place is bright, clean and has a LOT of washers (unfortunately all the "regular" sized ones were in use and I had to go to the 3X size). But it costs $2 to "buy" their debit card. That's before you add any money to it. The machine that you use to "add" money only takes $5 bills (evidently there is a $1 machine, but it didn't work). There is also an ATM ($2 fee) where you can get a twenty, then you put in a bill changer to get four $5 bills, THEN you put that into the laundry debit machine to add to your balance. Wouldn't just be easier to add to your balance using an Credit/Debit card or any bill denomination? Other pet peeves - a little girl on a razor scooter (and high-heeled flip flops, go figure) scooting between the machines, crashing, falling, generally causing mayehm - "hey Mom - try a little parenting". $4.25 left on my card (which really means it's $6.25 paid) that I may never use or be able to reduce to $0 if I ever go back. read more

Im blessed to have this within walking distance from me. (although I still drive because I cant for the life of me, find a laundry basket with wheels!!) As mentioned in other reviews, it takes a special card, not change, which I like.....It is very clean, and the staff is very friendly....Almost too friendly.....Im usually not very talkative while doing laundry, but love listening to the employees gossip to other regulars....Once I was driving, and someone was honking and waving at me, and my passenger said "who is that?"......I looked, laughed, and said "Haha, thats my laundry mat guy!!" Not only is the staff very friendly and welcoming, but I really do feel like my clothes have never been cleaner, since I crossed over to industrial sized washing machines. Last note: It was closing time, but my clothes were still drying. Of course, my favorite employee, locked up from the outside, left me in there, and even left the TV on for me to watch the season finale of hells kitchen....What a trusting gem! read more

After coming here weekly to launder our week's worth of clothes, this review is long overdue. Most of the washers and (all) dryers in the facility use the ESD money card. If you're new, or lost one, you can simply purchase one for $3. No cash, no problem because they have an convenient in-house ATM for you to withdraw $ if need be. They also have a run as credit, swipe only method if you need to load your card with $10, $20, or $30. Most washers are about $1 a load and require the use of the card. There are some traditional single loaders that require quarters only though. Various size dryers for $.25 or .$50 and they run about 10 minutes. Add more if your clothes need to be dried more. A soap center is available in case you run out of or forgot your laundry essentials. They include bleach, detergent, softener, and dryer sheets of various name brands. Two vending machines (one for snacks and the other for drinks) are available for purchase with cash or coins. Complimentary Folgers coffee is available too. Complimentary wifi and lots of places to sit too. Brought the kids? Keep them occupied in the kids center where they can play, watch movies, or read. The worker here is nice, friendly, and reliable. There's been times where machines were leaking because a shirt or something was snagged and she was pleasantly helpful. Overall, this place is great. Come give it a try for yourself! read more

I mean it's nothing out of the ordinary but it wasn't filled with questionable people. AMBIENCE: 4 (clean, quiet, has snack machines and a coffee machine!!) SERVICE: 3.5 (well it's self service, but there's an attendant there who's helpful) CONVENIENCE: 3.5 (you have to purchase a card (one time fee of $2) and need to put money on that card in order to use the washers. Inconvenient if you have left over change and don't want/need to come again) PRiCE: 4 (moderate. plus they have a deal. for every $20 you put on at a time you get extra points) **Oh and they have WiFi. *yay* read more

I would not recommend this place. They force you to pay $3 for a card to do laundry there. Meaning first you pay $3 for NOTHING... Then you have to put money on this card... That means you need to decide exactly how much your laundry will cost or else you'll have left over money on your card you don't get back. They don't take credit cards and they don't take quarters. I Like this place. It took me a little while to adjust to it, but so far it is pretty good, so long as you come prepared. Keep you quarters at home. You have to buy their debit card to use the machines, and if you don't have cash on hand, they have an atm on-site - but it charges you a fee. So be sure to come with a couple fives or ten's to load on your laundry card. Their prices recently increased by a few cents too, so you aren't likely to empty the exact amount you load on the card - expect to reload a few bucks. They have a bunch of machines, they have laundry service for a buck a lb., and they have TV's, Arcade games, Wi-Fi, and vending machines as well to help pass the time. The place always has attendants too, who are available to help you with whatever. Parking is a little tight in the spots closer to the front. My only complaint is the difference between the load sizes. They have machines that wash anywhere between a single load and up to 6 load capacity. Maybe I don't know enough about laundry performance, but the Triple Loader doesn't seem to have much more capacity than the single loader. The Triple washer loads from the front and takes 10 minutes less to wash than the single, while the single loads from the top. But otherwise, It seems I am washing the same amount of clothing in either machine. Considering that I am spending 3 bucks to wash the same amount of laundry in a triple as opposed to a single (which is a $1.30-ish), I wish they had more singles available, especially since I tend to split up my laundry into 3 or 4 groups (color, temp etc) depending on what I'm washing. Regardless, it is nicer than other neighborhood laundromats I've been to, with a lot less random crazies. I'd give em 3 1/2 stars if I could, but I err to the generous side because they are a vast improvement over other laundromats. read more

I've only ever used their wash service--and only a couple of times. It's pretty awesome to have someone else wash your laundry for just .95 cents a pound! I have stumbled in there with a bag I can barely carry and it was only 20 bucks to wash all of it. They generally have next-day turnaround, too. I am still having a hard time convincing myself to include the dirty underwear in the bag, but overall it's a handy service I can definitely recommend. A couple of tips: --Be aware that heavy items like comforters, quilts, rugs, etc. have a more expensive flat rate...you might want to wash those items yourself. --Ended up re-folding most of my stuff, but that's true when the bf does the laundry at home, too. No one ever folds your stuff the "right" way :-) --They don't take credit or debit cards, so bring cash! --Don't forget to tip (seriously, just like you would your hair stylist, manicurist, bartender, waitress, or anyone else who provides you with a personal service...like washing your dirty chonies). read more

Because I had cash remaining on the chip card they charge $3.00 for I came back one last time to use up the card. The attendant broke a 10 for me so that I could put an extra dollar on the card to pay to finish drying. That there is an attendant most days to take care of some problems on the spot the only real plus I see here. I know it's California and there is constantly a drought, but usually there is only enough water in the washers to get the clothes wet. There is not enough water to flow through the clothes while they wash; it's just wet clothes flopping around inside the drum. The bigger problem in this establishment is the percentage of broken washers and dryers on any given day. I actually counted the number of dryers in this store today-44-and the number of dryers with notices that they were broken-11. That's 25%. The number of top-loading washers-32, and the number of those that had some kind of non-working feature, even if it wasn't broken down entirely-11. That's about 33%. My other complaints are more picayune. The folding tables are very small for me, who has to fold a week's worth of 3XT t-shirts every visit. And, at least one of the items in the vending machines is not the product that is advertised in its display. I actually prefer Sun-Kist over Orange Crush, but some people don't, so it's kind of a bait and switch. read more

I think this is my new regular laundry mat. I have a washer/dryer at my duplex but I'm always fighting with my neighbors because they leave their laundry in there for days. not to mention that it's a million times more convenient to do all of my laundry at once. I love the pre loaded money card instead of hunting quarters. If you put $20 on your card at once it gives you $2 extra. I fit a load of jeans, 3 loads of colors, and a duvet all in one of the 6 load washers. Then I fit at least 2 loads of towels and 3 bath robes, 2 bath rugs, and my slippers in another. I could have fit more but I ran out of stuff! I then used a 3 load washer for my queen size duvet. I could have fit more but I wanted to make sure it got super clean. If you are doing small loads, they have 80 cents top loaders on Tuesdays. The place is very clean. There were 2 attendants while I was there. One was doing drop off laundry and the other was cleaning. They were super helpful in explaining how the pre loaded card works and letting me know that I can STUFF the washers to the gills! read more

Last wash is at 10, last dry is at 10:30. Spin Cycle is always VERY clean, and I like their card system ($2 to start one, then you load money on it at the store. It's cash only, but they have an ATM) They have large capacity washers are AWESOME for those laundry procrastinators. Their WiFi is free and MUCH faster than it used to be, they just updated their broken router. I was the last one in the laundromat with the attendant, and he was incredibly nice and kind. We chatted a bit as I folded and he cleaned, and he let me know he was locking the door to "keep the weirdos out" and keep me safe at about 10:40. He ended up staying about 10 minutes after closing while I was folding my stuff (I didn't realize the time) and didn't even mention it. He even offered to help me fold my sheets! There's vending machines and arcade games, and a few benches to hang out on while you wait. Clothes always come out nice and clean, no soap left on them. But it's frustrating going there specifically for the fact that they allow credit card use only to find out none of the machines allowing you to use your credit/debit card work. This place is pretty clean. However, if you are in the middle of drying and its 10:30pm you are assed out! All the machines turn off. They close at 11 pm - Sundays- and they don't advertise or alarm people that the machines will be turned off. I don't mind paying a little more since its in a nicer area, but I feel like they dont care enough to let people know. I will not be returning because of this and will find another laundry place that will honor their closing time. read more

The last time I came here was about a year ago. I have been to super suds across town a few times as well who uses the coin system. In regards to that, I would have to say prefer the card system better, as I lose the extra coins easily when I have extra to take home. Overall I like this place, but I was looking to use the top loaders now that I knew they were there and they had a ton. But more than half of them where broken. And I had to wait for one to open up. The top loaders take about 30 mins to wash compared to the front loaders. Over all, compared to super suds, I feel the 3 load front loaders have more options for washing and wash my clothes a lot better and cleaner. So for that reason I am going to prob stop going to super suds. They do not have wifi and when you try to see if there is any wifi, a long beach free wifi is there, but you only get 15 mins and then you have to pay. Overall this place is clean and I would come back here more often. The parking is easy and plenty of baskets. I am prob still going to try out different ones. The only thing is that at super suds they had more tv's around, not that I was watching anyway. read more

It's wonderful that they have wifi, are very clean, have ample parking, are not generally overcrowded, and have good customer service. If I based my rating on that, they'd get 5 stars. However, this is a laundromat and based on that, I give them 3 stars. Their single load washers are very limited, which leaves only the more expensive machines that are $2.50-$6 for everyone else to use. The dryers are also more expensive than most places, and it will eat the entire balance on your card if you leave it in. The attendants generally can't/won't give you a refund. I will also give them credit for their fluff & fold service which deserves at least 4 stars for the quality. read more

I am a fan of Spin Cycle. i have a shared single washer/dryer combo at my apartment complex but opt to drive the couple blocks to Spin Cycle to use the industrial sized washer and dryers. The prices seem fair because I end up being able to do all of my laundry at once. The extra dollar or so I pay for the convenience is more than worth it to me. The only detractor for me is the woman who seems to be there working whenever I go. She is nice enough and chit chats about nothing, but she talks a bit too much. She also doesn't really get the hint that i'm just there for laundry, not for hanging out. She also has told me numerous times that I look like her ex husband. :/ read more

I must be honest. I hate laundromats. I am a snob, and after living through my college years, apartment laundry catastrophes, and dragging laundry blocks away once a week, I'd like to be through with it. I have a perfectly good washer and dryer at home. Having said that, once in a while I still have to gather together the dirty clothes, quilts, and what have you, and bring them in to get done. When that happens (as did a few months ago, when my dryer caught fire), I go to Spin Cycle. First good thing: It's beyond clean. The place is cleaner than my house. Second good thing: It smells good--like clean clothes and soap. Third good thing: The attendants are smart, friendly, and busy helping customers. Fourth good thing: Everything works! Fifth good thing: I can put money on a laundry card that works in all machines in the laundromat, and then save the laundry card until I need it again. Sixth good thing: They have humongous washers that wash all my clothes or quilts in one go. Seventh good thing: I'm out of there fast, and I feel clean when I leave. If you have ever gone to a laundromat where you leave feeling dirtier than your clothes, you know what it means to find a clean, friendly, hard-working laundromat. When I first came to Spin Cycle, the first thing I noticed was that it was very well lit and clean. The person on-duty noticed that I was helplessly looking around, and offered to help me out. He showed me the general layout, how to buy the debit card (more on that later) and even connected my laptop to the internet! The staff, I have found is very friendly and talkative. The only downside is that you have to buy their debit card for $2, put money on that (they rarely carry change for a $20 or $10) and then do your laundry that way. It's a minor inconvenience your first time there, but you get used to it, and it's worthy of the cleanliness and free wi-fi. Also, they just recently raised their prices ($1.33 for a single load) which is not cool. 5 stars if it weren't for the price-raise and $2 debit card system. read more

As far as cleanliness goes, a solid 4 stars all the way. But overall, I feel it's totally inconvenient in several areas that far outweigh the clean points. Pros: -Lotsa machines -Looks clean -Parking Lot is huge -Attendant is always there (could be why it's clean) -Stuff to do while you wait (I personally bring a book so this type of thing is really a 'neutral' to me if not a negative-read on) Cons: -The parking lot is both a blessing and a curse. If you don't manage to get your car in one of the first 4 spots right in front, you have to lug all your stuff from your spot in the lot, then up either a steep ramp or stairs just to get to the door. -They use a card system, which already costs $2 bucks (that's a load of washed/dried laundry right there!). Never been a fan.. and I don't feel it's more convenient in the least. It's just their way of making sure if you put $20 bucks on the card, you have to come back to use whatever your remainder is, if any. Tricky tricky -A LOT of children running about freely. I don't go to the places with the games in general due to this common happening. LOVE kids, but they're f'n annoying running all over the place loud as hell while mom is ignoring them, talking daily crap with the attendant on shift. I tried it once and then tried the place right across the street, 7th Street Laundry. Their sign is so old, I was surprised to find all the machines are totally new when I walked in. And their cheaper too, by .50/load! Good selection of washing machine sizes and a TON of driers. Smaller space for sure, but never ever crowded, and a quarter gets me 12 minutes of drying time, so it only takes .75 to dry as opposed to my usual buck. That combined with the .25 cheaper wash, and I'm saving .50/load here. I know it seems picky but I do a lot of laundry and every saved quarter helps the cause. The attendant is super nice, and though I never partake, they have complimentary coffee and morning pastries should you ever need a little pick me up. Or you could just walk 50 feet over to 7/11 or even Papa Johns (right next door!) for some munchies. In any case, I much prefer quality over hype, so I go there now instead. read more

I've never been through so many gd hoops to do laundry before. You win SpinCycle, I'm stuck with this $3 card with a balance on it I don't want. I completely agree with Cindy that not allowing people to add time to dryers that were going well before 10:30pm, with no warning, really screws you over. I would have just added more time if I knew I was in some high tech mat of the future. So everyone gets 1 load of wet clothes to learn a lesson? It's ridiculous. I'm not returning. This place is amazing! Spin Cycle is my saving grace! I live 20 min without traffic away from here, so I was worried that it would be a waste of time coming here f I didn't like it. I drove all this way because the laundry machines at my apartment smell and they never get cleaned... gross! Thank goodness it exceeded my expectations! My favorite thing about this place is how clean and fresh looking/smelling everything is! Another great thing about this place is that there were no shady looking creepers. I was probably the craziest person there! The attendant was very helpful and sweet. She showed me how to load my laundry card and how to use the machines. She seemed to know all of the costumers who came in and greeted them like she was genuinely happy to see them . There were a decent amount of top load washers and a ton of dryers. I didn't have to wait at all for a free machine. There are plenty of magazines and tvs around, so you have something to help pass the time while your waiting. I brought my own snack so I didn't check out the vending machines that they had. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, clean laundromat. It was totally worth the trip! read more
