I love wave Max. I am a mom with a 15 year-old and an 11-year-old and I work full-time and shuffle them all around Long Beach. I often do not have the time to do my own laundry and it's the last thing I wanna do in my free time I love wave Max I drop my laundry off or pay a fee to have it picked up, which is very reasonable and they do a beautiful job with my laundry. The best thing is aside from a beautiful job they do, is their reasonable prices I would so much rather spend $25 on laundry than luggage to downstairs or to a laundry mat, spend my time in the laundromat deal with people get it home and then just fall into exhaustion. This service is so worth it to me and I am not a wealthy person by any means. I strongly recommend that you try there drop off service. They do such a great job with my laundry. I love this place super clean and convenient. It is a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for! If you like, They offer medical grade sanitizing machines before you do your actual wash which is like $3 which is amazing since nobody else offers this. Washes are only up to 17 minutes and dryers are also 17 minutes as well and its all it takes to get the job done. Ive washed comforters and 17 minutes to dry got it done on high heat! Dryers are only $1 too. You load up a card at the money station either by cash or debit card. No coins here which is great to be honest. This location is fairly new to downtown Long Beach. Considering the location it's clean and well managed, I was concerned because of all the homeless but I had a good experience here. The washers take half the time as some of the others I've been to and dryers are fast. They are cashless, so you need to obtain a laundry card which is reloadable. They also have a restroom for customers only, they don't advertise it when you go in but they do have one. My only 3 complaints were that they have a flatsceen but it was off Sonya couldn't pass time watching tv, Secondly there are no outlets for customers to charge their phones (at least none I could find) and third it was very hot inside, definitely need to have air circulating, they had a few ceiling fans but they were doing the job, I got way to hot sitting there for 2 hours. You have to buy a laundry card to use the machines. It costs $0.60 and you can top up in increments of $5. You can use a credit card to top up. So I've been here a couple times in the last 9 months, I think? Last time was with a friend and I moved into a condo where we had community washer and dryers so I gave him my card with $8 left. Haven't been back in months but all the washers and dryers were being used tonight and my son and I had a lot of clothes and sheets to wash so we just came here. So glad I remembered this place. (Another place, closest to us, was dirty and scary with homeless people wandering around and a crazy woman who almost broke one of the machine doors) This place was bright, clean, decent parking and had a very friendly guy helping everyone inside. He helped my son get the cart to our truck and opened the doors because we had a LOT to wash. What a gentleman! Anyway, my little boy was bored and restless and so the gentleman found a bouncy ball for him to play with and in between helping other people and cleaning, he kept my son occupied and talked to him. That was so nice! What a great guy! I'll come back just because of him. It is kinda pricey but I realized I used 2 Medium or large sized washers that fit 4+ loads of laundry altogether. So we finished faster than we would've at our condo. The dryers are a good price though! My recommendation is to buy the laundry card with the $20 option. You get $2 free added and it covers the credit card fee + profit. So win-win! They close earlier on some days so call or check for hours. We got out just in time. Thank you, Riley! Overall, WaveMAX is a great spot that always gets the job done when it comes to laundry. It has its own private parking lot (huge plus), and the place is always super clean. It's coinless, which I love, it runs on a card system that you can register with your name and phone number. That way, you'll get a text when your load is done, which is honestly so convenient. The washers and dryers are fast, and there's even a free sanitize option you can run on the washer before starting a load, which I really appreciate. It's a little on the pricier side for a laundromat, but honestly, it's worth it. It's one of the only places around that uses ozone cleaning, and that definitely helps clothes feel noticeably fresher, softer and cleaner. The only real downside is the size. There are about 30 washers and 30 dryers, which sounds like plenty, but the space can feel tight really fast--especially during peak hours. There are only 8 folding tables, and most of them are set up in clusters that are pretty close together. If you value personal space like I do, it can feel a little overwhelming when it's crowded. All in all, it's a clean, efficient, and modern laundromat, just be ready for it to get a little busy sometimes. read more

The customer service by Katrina and the manager is judgemental, critical, and dismissive. I dropped off my clothes to Katrina the laundry clerk who got very defensive when I asked questions about the weight of the clothes and the 10% discount to military personnel. You would think that when a customer asked questions that is called common sense but not to Katrina who defended herself by saying I need to remember the procedures every time I go in to WaveMax even though I don't work there. Also, she didn't welcome me into the store or say "Thank you." When she expects me to remember how things worked at the laundromat. That is called an assumption and she told me that she keeps forgetting how to give me a 10% discount which I thought was interesting because that is basic math skills. She told me that she would get ready to do my order which I questioned due to the fact that she comes across as scattered. I contacted her supervisor about my experience with Katrina who was surprised that is how her employee is working in a disrespectful, unorganized, and disagreeable manner. On 7/28/23 I picked up my clothes and the manager was there who was in a bad-tempered manner. I put my suitcase on the table and she went from 0-60mph saying "That I had an entitlement personality." I apologized but she said "That I was in the wrong." I was assertive with her that I won't be coming back to this censorious environment." She told me that she reserved the right to refuse service which is interesting since I don't see a sign. I believe her bad attitude has to do with her and not me. I suggest don't come to this establishment which is filled with unfriendly, antagonistic, belligerent behavior. The manager told me that it's hard to find reliable help well now I understand why. This is not a laundromat to go to if you're on a budget. You can expect to pay up to $6 or more for 1 big load to wash and dry. The price changes if you change temperature or add an extra spin or "heavily soiled" options. I'm willing to eat that cost. It's close to home and accepts card and mobile payment. The attendants are friendly and checked on me as soon as I was at the Kiosk. The vending machines also take card too. It could use some more folding tables in proportion to the amount of machines they have. Luckily, I came during a quiet hour so I didn't have to wait for a table or cart. People were in and out quickly here. They also offer an app as an alternate payment to their card system. That's handy because I never remember if I have a balance on these laundry cards. The app also gives you the option to alert you when the cycle is finished. I can't say how reliable that is since I only noticed their app while waiting for my wash. It's just ashame that it doesn't sync with Wavemax's official laundry card. I know you're thinking this so I'll answer what's on your mind: no, I did not get hassled by homeless people or sketchy characters. The parking lot is fenced off like a used car lot. It seems to be a safe, clean laundromat for a family to go to. I'll definitely come here again despite the price. I appreciate businesses that adapt with the times. read more

The owners/management are wonderful! They are so sweet and helpful as soon as you enter their facility! They informed me of the improvements they were making in the near future and it was super exciting to see their business coming together. The facility is impeccably clean, I mean literally spotless! I felt confident and comfortable washing my clothes in their machines. Safety is important to them and they even helped me out when I was done with my laundry and needed to take it out to my car. Lots of machines, I just wish this place was air conditioned. I came when it was hot as all heck outside and it was rough, I was sweatin' in all my crevices. Some heathen used an excessive amount of bleach in the washer right before I used it, so some of my clothes got messed up with bleach so that sucks and made me feel like I wouldn't want to risk my work clothes here. I'm gonna give yall the low down on the prices cause everyone else on here only says "it's expensive but at my apartment blah blah blah it's this" like, no honey, just tell us the prices. The biggest machine can hold probably 4-5 loads at one time, but they cost about $10-$12 a load. The middle machines are a couple loads at $5-$7 per load, and I think the smaller machines are less than a load at $3-$4 per load. Dryers are like $1.25 for 16 minutes which is honestly plenty of time to have them be dry. Overall, I think it's nice. But there's better prices elsewhere for sure, and I probably won't be a regular here for that reason. And the bleach! Whack attack. read more

So I have a community washer and dryer in my apartment complex but when I let my laundry pile up or I need to wash all my bedding I come here. It is *slightly* more expensive than my coin operated machines at home but does an exponentially better job. Their amenities are super convenient; they have large and small machines for things like clothing Vs bedding and offer laundry service if you wanna drop your laundry and go. However, THE HIGHLIGHT OF THIS LOCATION is by far their employee Alejandro. Both times I visited he was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and available for everyone in the laundromat. He is the embodiment of a quality employee. I was particularly moved when my mom, who is elderly, came to do her laundry here and Alejandro walked her step by step how to load her card (all machines are ran on preloaded cards) and how to operate each machine and it made me feel good that someone took the patience and time to carefully explain to her how to confidently operate the card terminal and different washers and dryers. This place is great. My ONLY SUGGESTION to the CUSTOMERS is to load your card with only a few dollars at a time as you need them to do laundry because once you've loaded money onto your card they cannot reimburse to you what you have left on the card when you're done with your laundry. The money will stay on the card and you can use it next time you come in but if you don't intend to come in for a long time and you overloaded your card, then you're a little bit out of luck. Overall, it's a clean location with helpful staff and that's why I will be back. read more
