Most every place we'd ever lived had a washer and dryer. Well, there was that house we lived in in our first hear in Spain. It was a great old two story house, well over a hundred years old, with a half dozen fire places, but no washing machine, no dryer. We cleaned our clothes by taking them into the shower with us and stomping on them as the water rained over us. And then there was a hundred year house in Reno's Midtown. It was small but cool, but it had no washer, no dryer. Fortunately there was a place called Duds and Suds (which I've also reviewed on Yelp) which was a sorta combo laundromat restaurant slash bear and wine bar. So washing clothes there wasn't a chore, it was fun. But other than those to occasions, everywhere we've ever lived, had a washer and dryer, so I never thought about clean clothes. I always just had 'em. They were in my dresser drawer and closet as if by magic. All the time. They were always there. And I'm ashamed to say that I never, not ever thought about how they got there, until we moved into this wonderful apartment a short block from the beach. And really, when we moved in, I didn't even notice that there was no washer, no dryer. There was, however a lone washing machine machine next to a single dryer in a laundry room downstairs. And after about a month living here, I noticed that Vesta was trudging out the door with our laundry, carrying it down the stairs to that laundry room, a lot. And then it finally hit me, after over a half century, that may my clothes were not magically cleaned. That she was actually doing it. And that bothered me. Not that I'm slow. But that she had to do it. So we had a talk about it and she said that it had never, not ever been a problem when we had a washer and dryer. But that now it was. And I learned during our talk that it was unfair for her to be burdened with the laundry stuff all by herself. Oh, like she said, when we had a washer and dryer, it was no big deal, but now it was. And therefore, I should be doing my share. And I hated the fact that it was going to be almost a daily chore. So we picked Tuesday to be laundry day and we went looking for a laundromat. We didn't find one that served wine, but after a few misses (laundromats that were bummer places to be) we found Orange Coin Laundry a place with clean machines that actually do what they're supposed to. And their machines take credit cards, so no more schlepping around a couple pounds of quarters with our clothes. How cool is that? And to boot, the guy who works there is really nice and really helpful. Plus, the place is next door to a grocery store, so we can shop while our clothes are being washed. Bottomline, if you live in Long Beach, Orange Coin Laundry is the place to go if you don't have cloths cleaning machines in your home and you can take that to the bank. read more

Not bad for a laundromat; prices are reasonable and they do take coin, card and types of tap pay. The coin machine is at the rear on the right at the back of the place. They usually have an attendant, but he often leaves late morning (some time in the 11am hour), but not sure if for the day or his lunch hour. During my visits there, he's been responsive and attentive and tends to do a lot of spot sweeping before locking up his office before he heads out. No laundry supplies are sold here, HOWEVER there is a Smart & Final immediately next door (same building) where they have plenty for sale. Fridays and weekends are obviously the busiest days. Some Mondays can be as well. Mornings have usually been the best to get in and out (less of a crowd), but occasionally you'll encounter someone that will take up 4-6 machines at a time, especially when it's busy. Doesn't happen often, but be prepared for that eventuality. read more

Walked in here to do my laundry because the laundry mat that i usually go to had an electric problem that caused all machines to stop working...anyway this was the closest place to go to. i walked in the coin change machine is located all the way in the back so i left my cart of clothes in the front while my son and i went to get the change. We were stopped before getting the change by a worker that suddenly came out from a room as if she was targeting me and told me "i cant let you get change since youre not washing." Huh??? What makes you think im not washing and what other reason would i need to get this much quarters?? I feel very discriminated against. Been a customer here for a long time hate to do this but lately their drying machines have been out of order and they don't even put signs up for customers to know about it so we end up having to pay for it just for it not to work and no laundry attendants are there to help us. This has HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES where I put my clothes in what seemed to be a normal working dryer just for me to come back to WET clothes it stops working as soon as you leave it. I like the cleanliness and how empty it can be during the day. My only gripe is that they used to do the 12th wash free but since they put in the new card readers they don't do that but still advertise it for the very small washers. This was one of the worst laundromats I've ever visited. My clothes came out soaking wet, and I had to run the wash again. The person in charge didn't even offer to refund me the $14.50 I spent! First of all, I must disclose that the attendants who work here are great and perfectly nice. They work hard, keep the laundromat clean, and kindle offer customers water. This one star review is for the owner, Perry. I've been a customer for about 5 yrs and consistently wash here for my large items, like comforters. I've never had an issue with the change machine in that time. I came by on Saturday, October 26 to run some large laundry loads and put a $20 bill into the change machine to the left of the sink. To my surprise, the machine ate my $20. Not a quarter came out. I was pretty upset by this and quickly flagged down the attendant. She took down my information (name, number, date, time, what happened) and promised me the owner, Perry, would call. By Wednesday, I received no call. I sent a yelp message at that time. By Thursday, still no contact, so I called the number on file and left a message. By Saturday, I stopped back into Orange Coin Laundry to follow up. Luckily it was the same attendant who remembered me. She basically mentioned that Perry said I'm full of BS and am simply trying to rip off the business, because the change machine still works. Huh?? Are change machines, or washers for that matter, universally infallible where they work 100% of the time? Is the facility not camera monitored where you can see customers putting in cash, and getting (or not getting) change? Do change machines not get reconciled to match the quarters with the actual cash at hand? I was appalled at the customer service, or lack thereof, from the owner. The irony is that negative online reviews tend to cost more than actually rectifying the situation. I wondered about the other customers who put in bills and don't get change back. Or the ones who pay for a washer/dryer only to have it not work. With this owner, you don't get your money back!! Prepare to be blown off. What kind of owner runs a business like that? I'm clearly ticked about the principle of the situation. I filed an official complaint with the State of CA Dept of Consumer Affairs. I read a bad review about the owner not honoring a customers complaint and calling her complaint "BS" so we will see how my experience will go. The customer was a regular for 5 years and a machine stole her money yet even with cameras the owner let greed of $20 destroy a customers day to the point where the customer had to file a complaint with the CA Dept of Customer Affairs. This business is a joke. I've been doing both my business and personal laundry here for about a year, spending about $80 a week.. The place is always clean and has nice machines.. That's about all it has going for it. The owner, Irene (per Lynette) is phenomenally unprofessional. In my observations, she is always complaining about parking in the handicap spot or stopping in the red curb to unload your laundry. This evening I attempted to park in the disabled spot, as my passenger spot is disabled. Just so happens that Irene was illegally parked in the spot as she always is. Irene does not have any legal signage, although I suspect mental disability.. LoL. Anyhow, I called the police and they gave her a ticket. I have included photos for your viewing pleasure. So happy I found this spot! My usual laundry mat is unfortunately outdated & now that I see the prices here, overpriced. I drove by here today with my dirty laundry in my car to find a new place to do my laundry. Even the outside is fresh. I walked into new painted walls (orange and lime green colors- super fun!) two brand new TVs and the best part....all the machines take credit card!!!! The place is VERY clean also. So I've been coming here for a about 2 months now. Our new apartment complex doesn't have a laundry room and I haven't purchased machines for inside our apartment yet. This place is always clean, I generally don't have issues getting a machine, the customers I've come across are all respectful of one another and don't "hog" up the machines. You can wash a pretty good side single load (a big load) for $2 and wash up to 6 loads for $6 at once it a jumbo washer. The dryers are 25 cents for 10 minutes and there are a couple jumbo dryers for 50 cents every 10 minutes. With that being said, I normally get all of my 3-7 kids of laundry done in about an hour, 1 1/2 hours. The staff will offer you free water and they constantly clean the place while they are there. I'd recommend this place to anyone and I'll keep coming here until I purchase my own washer and dryer for my place. read more

There is plenty seats to sit and even two televisions to watch while waiting for your laundry to wash or dry. The have well stocked vending machines too. I normally don't write bad reviews, I hate writing one. I think the owner should know what type of services their employees are promoting. Just like other reviewers have said, there are many machines here that are always out of order. I didn't care or made it a big deal because I felt safe around the area. I am reviewing the attendant that works here. I reported that the machine didn't wash my load very well and all my clothes were still soak and wet... I was thinking this can't be normal. I let the attendant know and she went viral about me stuffing the 6 load machine. She went off and said, "you're overloading them with too much clothing, you can't do that; you can't damage our machines like that." I was standing there like wtf are you serious...?!!? I was applauded! I've been a loyal patron for years! She has seen me week after week and this has never happened before. She continued to say, "if you're looking for a cheap deal to put all your clothes in one machine, this isn't the place for you." Ugh... are you kidding me!!!?? First off, these machines aren't cheap! It's overpriced honey. The dryers do not dry well... but I continue to add quarters to have my s*** dry. Still, i continue to frequent, and you blame the customers for your broken machines? Why are they always f***** broken, anyway?????!!!!!! Gahhhh! She didn't even f***** reimburse me for the crappy wash the machine did. My load was still drenched in water and detergent! The laundry mat was nice and clean wasn't no water all over the floor, that is a big plus for me, the attendant was there the whole time making sure there was no issues with any of the machines. I frequent this laundry mat weekly. This Saturday morning between 8:30 am and 11:30 am I had multiple negative interactions with the attendant, "Mike". He is the tall blonde attendant that usually works mid day ~weekends. Each time I come in I steer clear of him. He usually goes out of his way to "clean" the area I am loading or unloading my clothes. No matter how busy it is, he finds a way to make an appearance and make me feel uncomfortable. We normally do not speak to one another but this Saturday was the day he chose to approach me. First he brushed past me, I let it go because I'm used to his unusual behavior. Then as I am taking my load out the washer he reached over me and touched my CLEAN laundry inside the washer without saying anything. I asked him not to touch my belongings, he raised his voice at me and claimed he did not want my "wet cover" to bring water on the floor. My cover rung out well during the wash cycle, so not sure what his concern was. To reiterate I am unsure what possessed him to touch my personal belongings but that kind of behavior is unusual and made me and my sister feel VERY uncomfortable. Lastly as I prepare to take out my final loads of laundry I noticed both my dryers open. Both. On two different sides of the laundry mat. Coincidence? No. Absolutely not, but of course when I was getting my items from the dryer he was no where to be found in the mat. I'm open to any assistance when asked and completely understand that every has a job to do, but unacceptable, provoking behavior should be called out. read more

There are three reasons why I do my laundry here. 1. It's location. 2. it's clean. 3. Irene. Parking is easy. There's a grocery store next door as well as a ball place and a restaurant. There's plenty to do while you wait for your laundry. It's always kept clean. Floors swept, counters wiped, and machines in working condition. It's a rare find in the laundry world. This place I'd always in tip top shape. Lastly, Irene is the lady that keeps this place looking good and keeps me coming back. She's usually there in the evenings watching over the place and chatting it up with customers. Only good thing going for it is that it is clean. 50% of the time to washers are either out of order or screw up your laundry in the middle of the cycle leaving them dripping wet when you throw them in the dryer (hopefully they are rinsed all the way). I absolutely love doing my laundry here. There's usually an attendant on duty cleaning up, passing out free cold water bottles, helping with the machines, etc. We're always greeted with a smile and love the addition of free WiFi! The prices are good, and there are some 6-load machines which come in handy for large items. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a clean laundromat. I came in this am to do laundry for a client who cant venture out. The female lady grabbed my bag that was on top of washer to throw it away. I stopped her and i put it back on top of washer as my washer was still going. I sat outside and came back 20 min later to change to dryer and she came to me and said the bag was gone, and blamed it on someone. The elderly lady didnt take it and she was the only one. She was lying about events and was using the F word when speaking to me. She called me a Dumb Blonde also. She continued to lie all while saying F bombs. I came there to help a client and instead was insulted, cursed at and lied to. She said she wouldnt get fired over her treatment of me that the owner Willy "knows about customers like me". The owner or manager was a nice gentleman he gave me a cold water bottle and the kept cleaning the machines checking in the broken one. He was super friendly talking to the other guest doing laundry. She's on a Laundry mat lady attendant power trip....like lady just chill it's a laundry mat. She hates kids coming in... so if you have babies like 2-5yrs keep them away. Using a laundromat is traumatic in and of itself. However, this place made it feel a lot less worse than it could have been. It was extremely clean and well maintained. I even saw the owner personally wiping down the inside of the washing machines while I was there. The prices aren't bad compared to other places; totally reasonable. It was a very friendly, safe environment. If I were in the area again and needed to do laundry, I'd definitely return to Orange Coin Laundry. My only tiny complaint is that the restroom is only available when the owner is there to unlock it. So come with an empty bladder or be prepared to hold it if she has stepped out. read more

Wow! Super clean and super affordable. Everything was great. I had about a months worth of laundry (post surgery) and was finally able to walk/carry - The washers are super efficient and the dryers spot on! I had about 11-12 loads.. one being a comforter and it only took me 1.5 hours... the dryers are awesome. I even used low heat on some loads and it was perfect! It's coin only. There is a changer there, so bring your $. This will be my place of cleaning! OH.. the bathroom is locked unless the attendant is there - I didn't catch her name, but she was super nice and helpful. read more

Every time I'm washing my clothes this lady that work there act like she's the owner, she's always in the way and is very annoying. Today she tell me I'm in the wrong place to be folding clothes....I wish she would just be quiet and let the customers do their laundry.
