Spicy Chili Pho Asian Grill I stumbled upon this place about a year ago on accident. I was doing my errands in Aurora, feeling hungry I decided to give this place a try. Ever since then it has become one of my Asian food favorites in Aurora. The lady behind the counter, whom I assume is one of the owners , is always quick and efficient. I never dine in, but the atmosphere is traditional and pleasant. But the food is always on point! I haven't had a bad meal there yet. All the vegetables are super fresh. This was our first time visiting this restaurant, and although it initially seemed promising since we were the only customers there, it didn't take long to realize why that was. The space had that old-school Asian restaurant feel, dim lighting, dated décor, and a bit of a quiet, almost eerie atmosphere. We started by ordering two appetizers: the fried dumplings and wontons, along with a pineapple boba drink. When the dumplings arrived, the texture and taste of the meat inside were immediately off. It wasn't what I'm used to, kind of tough and oddly seasoned but at least passable in flavor. The wontons were better in terms of texture, but they came with this bright red sauce that tasted like straight-up red food coloring (seriously, it tasted like nothing but Red 40 syrup). We didn't even want to dip anything in it after the first taste. Then came the pineapple boba, and this is where everything really started to go downhill. On the menu, it's pictured as a milk-based drink, no description, but the image clearly suggests something creamy and sweet. What they brought out, however, was an icy slushie-style drink with boba pearls at the bottom. It was literally a big frozen chunk of crushed ice with almost no flavor. We gave it a try anyway, but it was practically undrinkable. So we politely asked our server if it could be remade with less ice, just to see if we could salvage it. She said she needed to check with the manager. That's when things took a turn. The manager walked over and, instead of approaching the situation with any sort of understanding, immediately got defensive and borderline hostile. She snapped that it couldn't be remade because it's a "smoothie" and that there was no way to reduce the ice. She didn't even try to understand our issue, just shut it down completely and walked off. After that, she began staring us down from across the restaurant and whispering to the staff about us. It was painfully obvious and incredibly unprofessional. We could hear snippets of the conversation and could tell she was still complaining about us asking for a simple change to a drink. We sat there feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome for the rest of the meal. We tried to move past it and focus on our food. My husband ordered a steak and brisket pho, and I ordered the chicken pho. I didn't try his but he wasn't a fan of his either and the meat was not good and mine was honestly terrible. The broth was completely bland like it had been watered down, and the noodles were overcooked and mushy. I ended up drowning it in hoisin and sriracha just to give it some flavor, but it still didn't help much. I couldn't even finish it. When it came time to pay, my husband noticed a few more red flags. First, we were charged extra for takeout containers, no one told us there would be a fee for those, and it wasn't posted anywhere. Second, the price we were charged for the pho was different than the price listed on the menu. He took a photo of the menu to show the discrepancy at the register. The moment the manager saw that, her entire attitude changed. Suddenly, she was smiling, overly friendly, and apologetic. She offered to remake the boba "free of charge" (even though we had already paid for it and barely touched the first one, which was still sitting on the table). We had already said we didn't want a new drink anymore, but she insisted on remaking it anyway. And here's the kicker, she actually said to us, "Don't leave a bad review." The irony? She magically could make the drink with less ice now, after saying earlier it was "impossible." So basically, before she knew we were going to say something publicly, she didn't care about our experience. But once she saw we were documenting the menu prices and clearly unhappy, she flipped the script. It was honestly insulting. Despite the last-minute attempt to do damage control, our experience was already ruined. Between the poor food, weird upcharges, rude and unprofessional service, and the passive-aggressive behavior from the manager, this was one of the worst dining experiences we've had in a long time. We left feeling disrespected and ripped off. That drink, by the way, stayed untouched even after the second version was brought out. Bottom line: We won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this place to anyone. A smile at the end doesn't undo bad food, shady pricing, or being made to feel unwelcome. read more

I came here on a Monday night with a group of 6. They pushed together some tables and made it work last minute. A hole in the wall place but hit the spot. We all order a handful of items and that same time and only have to wait around 8-10 minutes for food to come out. It was delicious and it the spot. I order shrimp and meatball pho with a side of crab wontons, and it cost $25 including the tip. Such an awesome price and delicious meal. I was very happy with it and so was the rest of the table. I plan on coming back often as it is very close to my dance studio. They also have more than just pho. Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai food. Options for everyone that wont break the bank. This has been my go to place for years and for past experiences I would give Spicy Chili Pho 4-5 stars. Portions are always generous and food always fresh. Delivery is usually pretty fast too, but last night was an odd exception. Super slow delivery, meat egg rolls a weird texture and the usual jalapeño chicken we order was tasty, but has a different flavor profile like bay leaves or something more earthy than this dish traditionally tastes, not in a good way. Will cut some slack, it was a busy Saturday night and will give one more try. Really hope this was just a one off and not the new normal, prices keep creeping up, but quality seems to have slipped. read more

The food here is good and relatively fresh. I've been getting delivery from here for years and finally decided to check them out in person. The dining room is small with 10 or so tables. The eggrolls are made fresh so the inside isn't mushy. All the flavors were on point but will stick to take out and delivery. I called to order for delivery. The person taking my order had difficulty understanding what I was ordering and I had to spell out my address. Obviously there was a language issue. As for the food it was bland, nothing special about any of it other than the crab cheese wontons, we're ok. I will not order from this restaurant again. Okay, I decided to give this restaurant one more go since I believe in second chances. Today's my birthday and I ordered shrimp egg foo young AGAIN, and received something totally different!!! It looks like overcooked noodles (hard and inedible) with the side of shrimp and gravy with vegetables. I ordered two steamed rice and only received one. Sadly we order from here all the time and their food is incredible, and they are always so fast with delivery! Today a few of us nurses ordered food and I ordered the lettuce wraps but didn't get the lettuce, so I called the restaurant to see if they can bring them back- they apologized and said next time I order I can have free egg rolls but that it's too far to drive.... We ordered delivery and was excited to try the place. The menu is not very detailed. I had the pho and he had the sriracha beef broccoli and we ordered the chicken skewers. We DIDN'T receive the skewers. We called them to advise them of the missing item and the person that answered transferred us to a different individual. They proceeded to argue with us about the missing item. They insisted that we were incorrect and that they didn't make a mistake. They didn't offer to credit us, or to fix the mistake. Best cream cheese wontons in the Biz! Saw one review saying the wontons were a little crispy. This is very true but I love a good crispy wonton. Also ordered the chicken skewers very delicious. For entree we got the beef teriyaki and the Pineapple Curry. The curry could use more flavor in my opinion but the flavor that was there was delicious. The beef teriyaki was another delicious item. I chose to give the shrimp pad thai a try and paired that with an order of crab cheese wontons. While my pad thai had more shrimp than I expected the peanut sauce used was quite sweet and tasted strongly of peanut butter. The wontons had very little filling. Lame. Looking at other reviews, I probably should've stuck to the Chinese portion of the menu. I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about but spicy chili pho is great. We ordered thru door dash and out food came as promised and nicely sealed. The only complaint I can give is the cream cheese Rangoon's were a little crispy. The chicken lo-mein is great. It wasn't overly oily vs other places or too salty. I loved that i could add siracha and not have it mixed with oily noodles. The orange chicken is good, you could smell a little spice but it had great flavor. I normally don't like kung po beef but i tried it and wow. All the vegetables add so much flavor. The portions are huge, i was able to serve myself twice, get stuffed and still have left overs for lunch. Will gladly come back again read more

Food was great. Customer service - terrible. The waitress was obviously racist. She asked for my boyfriend's ID when he paid with his card but a older white lady paid directly after him and she was not carded. Also she was just rude towards the entire time compared to how she was towards the other lady.
