Sweet and Sour Combo, Shrimp Rice Noodle, Chicken Broccoli
    Becca B.

Spicy Asian is our go-to Chinese restaurant. The food is always fresh and full of flavor! With our most recent order we got the sweet and sour combo, shrimp rice noodles and chicken broccoli. Teriyaki chicken is one of our favorites too. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because sometimes their delivery times are very long, especially on weekends. I have called and had them say, "1.5 hours okay?" I think they only have one delivery driver. It's not a big deal, we just try to avoid ordering on Friday and Saturday nights. Another thing to note, they have a website and their online ordering system is super easy to use!

Look at all this food! And this was just for lunch!

Amazing wait staff! Very friendly! Amazing portion sizes too!!! There are so many options that you have to try a different one each time you go back! too many to choose from! Prices range anywhere from $1.75 (soda drink) - $23.50 (chef's special seafood amazing meal). What an amazing restaurant!

Sweet Sour Pork Lunch (s&s sauce comes on the side)

I needed a quick lunch so headed over to Spicy Asian restaurant. If you're looking for authentic Chinese dishes, this probably isn't the right place- this restaurant serves Americanized Chinese dishes at an extremely cheap price. For lunch, I paid $8.55 for the Sweet & Sour Pork which includes your choice of fried or white rice and an egg roll... such a great deal. I was really impressed with the flavor of the meat, egg roll and fried rice. I appreciate the sweet and sour sauce on the side which allowed me to dip the pieces of pork instead of the meat being smothered with it. The food was ready within 15 minutes of calling them. It's so rare to find a great lunch deal these days which is a huge reason why I will be back and the food tasted decent despite the so-so reviews.

Spicy Asian by the DMV. Very busy. Good portions, quality sauce and dishes. The orange chicken comes with orange slices, sesame beef with veggies. I do not recommend the egg drop soup! Too much corn starch, it's basically egg corn drop soup. Not my go-to American-Chinese spot around Monaco/Leets but it's worth a try if you're out. There are better Asian-American joints around.

I visited there during a break from a convention I was attending and was glad to find it open. Service was brusque but reasonably fast. I ordered the Pork Water-Fried Bao and the Spicy Ground Pork over rice. Both looked great; but alas, both dishes were unaccountably bland. I'm not a 'five alarm fire is a great flavor' kind of guy but when a dish says 'Spicy Ground Pork', it better have more zip than communion wafers. Average it out, and this place scores a 3 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

We chose the five-course tasting menu and added a couple of sides, and every dish was perfectly executed. But the service is what really inspired me to write this review. It's that kind of thoughtful service that turns a great meal into a memorable experience. The next time I'm in Denver, I'll definitely be back. Don't skip the Chiang Mai Wonton and the dumplings,

I was intrigued by the dumplings, but definitely did not try them seemed a bit to modern. Malaysian noodles were decent with bit of flavor, but overwhelmingly, egg & bean sprouts with very little noodle & overcooked pork belly. It was so rough... I was really expecting some being that would basically melt in my mouth and that was not at all the experience. it made me miss San Francisco Asian food so much... as a treat myself kind of meal, it was fine, but I'm glad I went by myself rather than a date night with my husband cause I think we both would've regretted it on the plus side if there is one is that the staff we're remarkably friendly even for the lunch crowd. My group of 7 shared the roasted pork, pork and duck barbecue. I'm not a fan of duck so it would not be fair for me to write anything about it, but those who loved duck meat said that this place serve wonderful barbecue duck. As for the pork, both roasted and barbecue, they were so good. We had a little bit of white rice to eat with the meat, but really, you don't need the extra rice in order to eat these two types of pork meats. Since both styles of the pork were prepared differently, I cannot say one is better than the other: they were both delicious. The crunchiness and the flavorful from the roasted pork, as well as the aroma and the soft chewy from the barbecue pork, brings this dining experience to the next level. We also ordered the yu stir fry choy sum in garlic, the combination fried rice, and salt and pepper shrimp. I highly recommend the yu choy and shrimp dishes. I would skip the fried rice and get their beef chow fun, which is exactly what my other group of 6 did. In addition to what were mentioned above, they ordered Chinese broccoli, daikon and beef in clay pot, Taishan five spice duck, salted fish & chicken fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and dining experience here. Conversations were easily understood and heard. When asked what their favorite dish was, all of us said we liked everything, but when pressed to give one special dish, several folks mentioned the roasted pork, the clay pot, and the salt and pepper shrimp. Service here was excellent. The manager was very accommodating to our large group of diners, coming back and making sure we are doing fine as he refilled our water glasses. If you are looking for legit Chinese barbecue pork and duck, you don't need to look further: it's here at Happy Cafe BBQ. Enjoy!
