Just moved into the neighborhood this summer and wanted to find a go-to place for Asian cuisine. Found out the family who runs this place is Taiwanese. Much of the food is Chinese inspired and could even dip into Fujian-ese/Cantonese style too if you want to get specific. Regardless, a simple hot and sour soup and happy family (spicy) can last at least 2 meals if not 3 if you're careful. The food is wonderful and you can tell all orders are made to order. I have gotten lazy a couple times and decided to go here instead to grab a meal. If I had some more time for my lunch I would definitely swing by too. Spice8 is tucked into the same shopping center catty corner from Two22. Once you know where it is it will be super easy to navigate. The food texture was fine, and it was fresh, but they used way too much garlic. I ordered the shrimp lo mein and it was so garlicky, i could not even eat it. The so called Thai spring rolls were not edible and even the peanut sauce was garlicky. Won't be ordering from here again. read more

Christmas Day night for dinner after a long trip home and I was just happy these guys were open. I called way ahead of time expecting a long wait, but was told it would only be 25 minutes. So we went to pick up our food at the 25 minute mark. NOPE. An hour plus after calling my order in was when I was actually given my food. That's okay as they were slammed busy!! However, it's not that difficult to figure out how long it will actually take to provide food based upon number of people ordering, and how quickly the kitchen can turn that food out. They still do not allow dine-in even though things have opened up elsewhere. Major bummer. I feel that they were taking advantage of Covid protocols by not wanting to pay for waitstaff. They were nice about everything and even gave me my military service discount. We took our food home and warmed it up. We're pretty happy that the sweet-and-sour pork was not soaking in the sauce as that was given in little covered side dish separate from the meat. This allowed us to warm up the pork in a frying pan to crisp it up and then serve it on our plate with the sauce on the side. It was pretty good, but didn't taste like a homemade sauce. The remainder of items that we ordered were also pretty decent, but their fried egg rolls were terrible, and extremely greasy, unfortunately. For a local Asian restaurant in Aurora, it wasn't terrible, but I think I will stick with my favorite one being the Little Panda on Hampton Avenue. read more

Food really wasn't that great. Tofu was bad, was disappointed with takeout. Maybe dine in would be better?

I will say that this place was great on service because I did an online order that my sister was supposed to pick up and forgot to instead of just getting rid of my order they made sure to give me a call and check if someone was coming to pick it up before they closed. She ended up on her way back and was going to arrive nine minutes after their closing time, but she said they were very kind to her and very friendly when she got there. I ordered a small, coconut chicken soup, which was pretty good nothing above and beyond in flavor. However, I also got a side of lo mien which was amazing. Lo mein is usually just something I order to have a noodle base or a carb if I'm in the mood, but when I tasted their lo mein, it was literally the best lo mein I have ever had. Something about the flavor was just different with a distinct difference in tasty and texture that I found to be great and the filling portion size was fantastic considering the price of a side portion. Do not trust any prices they publish. They do not honor them. There is a difference of $13.77 between their website prices and the ones on our receipt for a pick up. We called in the order and they seems much higher than normal. So I checked. They are about 12 to 15% higher than advertised. I also noticed their health score is 35. This place has lost its way. Just moved into the area so my wife and I are trying an array of Chinese restaurants. My wife ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, her "go to" entree to order. Craving something different, I ordered the green curry with beef. We also both ordered fried egg rolls. Unequivocally, my wife mentioned that this was the best Kung Pao Chicken she's tasted in many years! My curry dish was flavorful and filled with vegetables and beef. In both our dishes, the vegetables were perfectly cooked and tender. Plus, we were able to decide whether the spiciness of the dishes should be mild, medium, or hotter. I love it! The egg rolls were very average and definitely on the smaller side. More filling would make these much better. read more

When I called so they could fix it they said they cook the chicken In The sauce and it doesn't come with any sauce. Seriously??? You don't give sweet and sour sauce with your chicken. We ordered a pickup on valentine's night, after reading a review about the auto gratuity with online orders, we decided to call. I made my husband do it because a lot of Asians can't understand my Australian accent and I get shouty quickly. He said the lady who answered sounded like she grew up here, so no more phone anxiety for me if I order while he's travelling! We got pad Thai, garlic shrimp, beef lime coconut curry, crab ragoons and potstickers. Everything was good, our son loved the crab and cheese wontons. The potstickers were full of meat. The pad Thai was good but not the best I'd ever had. I still think Formosa gardens pad Thai was the bomb. The shrimp and beef entrees were both delicious and both came with rice. All up it cost about $50 before tip. Will definitely order from here again. Normally our go-to is that panda. I think they've been replaced. read more

I have driven by this place for years and decided to give it a try. Ordered the combo noodle bowl, "Tasty rice noodles with bean sprouts, tomatoes, pickled radish, peanuts, onions and fish sauce." What I got was noodles, fish sauce and broccoli. My wife ordered Basil Tofu , "Lightly breaded tofu fresh basil, jalapeno, bok choy and bell pepper in basil sauce." No bok choy, lots of bell peppers. First time we came I thought the lomein was very good! The wonton soup however was super salty and fishy tasting. Just terrible. Would definitely never order the soup again. I picked up an order & when I arrived to where I was going. There were no utensils to eat the food with. When I called they said that I needed to make that request & that it was on their menu to do so. I pulled up the online menu where I ordered from & I didn't see where you were supposed to make that request. They told me to go to a gas station to get forks & were very rude about it. Making it seem like it was my fault. The customer service was horrible. I went out of my way to bring the food back for a refund. Which they did refund. However at that point the damage was already done. I had such a panic attack there that I had to sit down & ask for some water which they did provide. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful. We were at Brew Two 22 and the food truck was gone and we spotted Spice 88 across the way. Went in and they had a typical menu, so decided to go with sesame chicken and Mongolian beef. The Mongolian was so nice. Fresh peppers and onions and (guessing) fermented black bean paste in addition to the usual flavors. I was super into it with the first bite and my obsession only grew. The sesame chicken was also great. Very crispy and sweet. It came with a little broccoli that was a nice offset. One other thing to mention is that I walked in, ordered, and walked out in 5 - 10 minutes. Highly recommend this place. Bring it over to the brewery or take it home. The food was amazing. We found this place while at a local brewhouse. We had orange children that had oranges and peels. Super sweet with a bit of heat from peppers. We ordered two dinners off their menu, besides being charged a delivery fee-when we live within their free delivery zone, the General Tao chicken did not match the menu description and contained NO broccoli. When we called to ask, we were first told that we could come pick some up. To which I replied deliver it. We went ahead and ate, so the food did not get cold. An hour later we received a small styrofoam container of cold broccoli. The Kung pao chicken tasted like it had been cooked with fish. We will not be ordering from them again.
