Spice Thai is one of my favorites Thai places in the area as they have pad kee mao (or drunken noodles) and they cut their carrots into little sunbursts. Minor, but fun nevertheless. Food is always hot and you can normally get at least two meals from it. Service was kind and they gave us a coupon for free krab rangoons next time we eat in store. First time back to Spiced Thai in about six months and it basically feels brand new, with Tongue Thai‑D on the menu, a refreshed interior, and really friendly, helpful staff. We started with Summer Rolls and Chicken Satay, then tried Leng Zabb (pork bone soup), Moo Yang (grilled pork), Panang Curry, a Rama dish, Pad See Aew, and Pad Thai. We came straight from the Orlando airport for a Wednesday evening dinner around 7 pm. There were already a good number of tables seated so it took a few minutes to get our drinks, but staff is friendly and even offered us chopsticks. I showed up at 8:30pm on a Saturday night. Google says they are open till 9pm. Their own website says 9pm. The sign on the door says 9pm. I was greeted by a rude waitress who told me they stopped seating people at 8pm. Her exact words were "only takeout after 8pm." Recent posts on their facebook page says they are open till 8:30pm. Bottom line is that they suck so bad that they are losing customers. So on a slow night they just randomly decide to close early. I found great Thai food 5 minutes away at Koon Thai. That's my go to place for Thai food now. Congrats to Spice Thai. You lost another customer. Hope you die out soon. ADDITION: The owner replied to my post stating that the sign on the door clearly says they stop seating at 8:30. That is a lie. If you go to google maps and look at the photos, there is a photo of the front door. All it lists are their hours. Their website also says nothing about not seating customers after 8:30pm. Furthermore, the owner states that cutoff is 8:30. The RUDE waitress that "greeted" us said the cutoff was 8pm. "Only takeout after 8." I tend to believe the waitress on this because at 8:30pm there was only 1 couple in the restaurant. They were sitting at a table waiting on their takeout order. If customers had been seated prior to 8pm, there should be a few tables finishing their meals. Except for the couple waiting on the takeout, the dining room was empty. Clearly what happened was that they decided to close early because it was a slow night. That should tell you a lot about the restaurant. Who shuts down at 8pm on a Saturday night? The soup came with vegetables (carrots, snow peas, broccoli, mushrooms), tender chicken, and the broth had a sweet flavor seasoned well. The pad thai was always good and not "gluey" as some can be. Well apparently they have new owners or a new chef and my recent order was so sub par. The soup now comes with NO vegetables, the broth is flavorless and the chicken rubbery.
