I stopped here for takeout simply because I was in the same shopping center. Pulling up, this restaurant is certainly not attractive or welcoming in any kind of way. Walking into Hong Fu, the ambiance might be even worse. They have the plastic portion covering the front counter and I stood in front of the plastic portion as the lady behind the counter was on the phone. There was no acknowledgment of me as she finished the phone conversation. When she finished, she was helpful enough. I ordered a large curry chicken (made as hot as possible), shrimp lo mein, and two egg rolls. The order came to just under twenty-eight dollars. I was told my order would be ready in about fifteen minutes and my food was ready in about the promised time. When I got home, we tore into the food. The egg rolls were terrible. My curry chicken was mediocre and calling it mediocre is an extreme act of kindness. It was bland and the taste was overall one dimensional. The accompanying rice was overcooked. I was between giving it two or three stars and I usual go up, but this time I will rate down because after you sign your credit card slip, they have you throw it in a giant box with countless other credit card slips. In my never ending quest to find the ultimate Honey Chicken meal, I stopped by the restaurant on Saturday, January 7, 2023. I've passed this location numerous times without giving a second thought about stopping by as my go-to Chinese establishment is only a few miles drive from this spot. The restaurant is located near the cities of Edgewood and Belle Isle on South Orange Avenue in the Edgewood Isle Shopping Plaza. There are three four-top tables available inside and two two-top tables outside. Even though there is seating, the set-up of the interior is more conducive to take-out. Specifically, the interior appears disheveled and disorganized with boxes and other equipment marring any enjoyment you might have eating your meal inside the restaurant. Obviously, I opted for their Honey Chicken Lunch Combination Meal which came with fried rice and a vegetable egg roll. The egg roll and fried rice were good but, the star of the show was the honey chicken. The honey chicken pieces were tender with a light and greaseless breading and a nice sweet crunch. Delicious and tasty. The fact the meal only costs $8.79 is another reason I would stop by in the future...great bang for your buck. read more

I always drive by this place when I go to work and it peaked my curiosity. The location is interesting because it's in a small building in a parking lot. Definitely has your hole in the wall restaurant vibes. I recommend doing take out only because the dining area is not much. I ordered my food via phone and good thing I did because when I went to go pick up, there was a lot of people coming in and out of the restaurant. I got their house dumpling and their hot and sour soup (extra spicy). The house dumpling is a must get! Very juicy and plump. The dumpling skin had a great texture as well. The hot and sour soup was also delicious. This small restaurant is run by a family and they provided me with good service. I will definitely stop by here again. I gave Hong Fu a shot via grubhub and I'm really glad I did. I'm surprised this doesn't fall into the category of best Chinese in Orlando. The flavors are phenomenal and the freshness of the ingredients are top notch. My wife and I always get the house fried rice and one of the family meals, which feeds us several meals. I have been visiting this restaurant for over 5 years now . Very good food for such a small place. Not a very attractive place on a "V" section of the neighborhood but do not let that distract you from the flavors . I like the garlic shrimp and and broccoli and the fact that you can order it as spicy as you want. Very large portions. Great presentation for takeout and always willing to modify to your tastebuds. Price is moderate. Owners are pleasant and friendly. Rush hour (12-1:30) can be challenging for the crew to keep up , but worth the wait. It's location is easy to miss as it's a stand-alone tiny building at the edge of a shopping plaza. They garlic chicken with fried rice and Bobo platter were exactly what we needed. I opted to have an egg roll with my lunch combination and it's honestly the only reason they aren't getting five stars from me. The chicken, rice, and crab rangoon were delish and tasted fresh. The egg roll was disappointing and tasted kinda old. I ended up not finishing it. Since it was delivered, I don't have any opinions on their store. The only downside is they take a really long time to deliver... I think they've been about 10-15 minutes later than the promised time every time I've ordered from them. Do not come here looking for white linen. This is about as divey a place can be, no doubt. I read the reviews. I ordered. This place fit the bill and scratched the itch of "American/New York" Chinese food. Cashew chicken, garlic broccoli a little spicy, sweet and sour pork, and Mongolian beef very spicy. I picked it up. Two free eggrolls.... Everything was hot and fresh. It was exactly how I expected that "type" of Chinese food to be! I didn't order the pork; my husband did - and it was just ok. But the meat portions were very generous and the prices were spot on. I will happily order from there again. However, the food was so delicious I wouldn't care if they care if they were serving food out of a garage! The Szechuan beef was superb! The beef was extremely tender and not the usual overcooked-chinese-food variety! The sauce was rich and savory with just the right amount of heat. The steamed dumplings were amazing - moist and flavorful on the inside. The casings had just the right amount of bite. Fyi. One Yelper posted a pic of a "mystery sauce." There's no mystery to it. (5/12/2020) Got some takeout to support our local businesses during this time of COVID-19. There's a place for American-Chinese food in the comfort food genre, not debating about authenticity here. Got the Krab Rangoon, because creamy and deep-fried. Fried Dumplings were juicy and plump, I refried in a pan when I got home just because I like them crunchy on the bottoms, pork filling was well-seasoned. The House Special Fried Rice was chock full of a variety of meats (chicken, shrimp, char siu) and had that wok hay that you can only get from a restaurant (searing open flame and heavily-seasoned cast iron wok). I asked for the Hot and Sour Soup and Orange Beef to be "very spicy" (as an option in the online takeout menu) and it was eyes-watering, nose-running, lip-tingling spicy. I paid online with PayPal, showed up exactly at the time designated, and my order was promptly completed. Got a lot of pretty decent food for a good price, it's certainly a good value. Today I decided I wanted some Chinese food so I decided to try this place again. I called and ordered a General Tso lunch special that came with an egg roll or a soda (I had the egg roll since I had a soda at work). I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes, they are about a mile from my job. As soon as I got there I paid $6.65 and waited a few more minutes and my food was ready. As soon as I got to work I started to eat my lunch and I must admit it was so much better than the first time I went. The portion was a decent size (not a NYC size but decent). I still have some left overs. It was cooked to perfection, the rice was good and the egg roll was a bit over fried BUT I like crunchy so it was just right for me.
