Came here with a group of 8 for my friends birthday and was delighted with a perfect experience. Booking a reservation was easy. Not only did they seamlessly handle our larger group with ease but they offered excellent service paired with amazing food and drinks all delivered in a timely fashion. Be reminded that the tip is already included with large groups. Talay is a Thai cuisine restaurant and the gorgeous interior matches the elevated menu. I was immediately in awe of the gorgeous interior design featuring wooden accents and furniture, neutral color tones and soft lighting. I felt like I was in Thailand at a resort on the beach. For drinks every single person had something visually pleasing and equally delicious. My drink was the Gimme Guava which is Vodka, plum syrup, guava and lime. It's a bit pricier for the quantity but worth it for the quality and presentation. For food they do have a seafood forward Thai menu but I stuck to a classic and got the Keaw Wan Gai which is white meat chicken in green curry, bamboo shoots, bell peppers, Thai basil, coconut milk. It was delicious and the portion was very fair sized in my opinion. Every single dish on our table was beautiful and each person LOVED their dish. I think it's really great that my vegan friend had delicious options as well. He ordered the Por Pia Tod which was spring rolls and they were delicious. He also got some type of grilled tofu and let me just say it was tasty and cooked to perfection. Overall it was a excellent experience and I am so excited to come back and try other dishes. This was my first time visiting Talay and was generally pleased with my experience. The inside is very clean and bright with a nice aesthetic layout. Service was very friendly and attentive. Since it was my first time at this restaurant, I chose to go with the Pad Thai as I use this dish as a baseline test of Thai restaurants. Honestly, the dish was just OK, and was on the blander side of flavor. But I could tell that the ingredients were fresh. The spice did match the "medium" that I ordered. I will come back though, to try other dishes to have a more educated opinion. read more

TALAY is okay at BEST. There are definitely other Thai cuisine-based restaurants that surpass TALAY. However, there's no need to dive into that. What is GOOD about this place is that the service is usually ALWAYS very quick. Very rarely have I waited long at this restaurant for anything, be it help from staff, food, or drinks. They should really pride themselves on that fact because sometimes it is hard to come by such efficient service - especially during busy dinner hours. The restaurant itself is so beautiful. Very IG worthy! It looks lovely in the daytime, and during the evening, the mood lighting indoors adds to the overall intimate feel of the space. There is also a good amount of seating outdoors, if you want to eat outdoors. Noir Bar is connected via a not-so-hidden corridor/passageway. Within that passageway are also the shared restrooms for both locations. As far as the food goes, it is OKAY. Again, it isn't the best, but it most certainly is not BAD. I usually order one of my usual dishes. In my last adventure to TALAY, because I have been a handful of times, I went with their vegetable Pad Thai (Price: $17.00). It was chock-full of veggies, a thin rice noodle, eggs, bean sprouts, scallions, and peanuts (which they placed off to the side). The sauce this time around was a bit sweeter than my liking, but overall, I enjoyed my plate. I didn't order any of their seasonal cocktails, but I do love that they offer various seasonal cocktails (and seasonal menus) throughout the year. It is a great way to keep you going back. Pricing can get a little high pending what you order. However, a good chunk of the menu is "reasonable." Parking in this area is always a hassle, but it exists all around, and if you are lucky, you can get FREE street parking. All in all, it is a good place to visit. This is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful patio. There is a good selection of items and drinks. It is a little pricy and sharing is a good idea to keep the cost down. We had two drinks the guava and tamarind but did not enjoy the flavors. For appetizers we had the roti with curry sauce...yum and spring rolls which both were very good. The food is presented well and staff are very courteous. For dinner tried shrimp with noodles, veggies with jasmine rice, crab fried rice and marinated picanha. The food came out a little slow and all otlf it was not hot. Good flavors with the shrimp, veggies, rice and the picanha was very tender and delicious. Decided to try Talay after browsing the resy and checking out photos of their food. We were shocked by how good this place was. We ordered all three food items from their summer menu and added a sweet corn salad with shrimp. I don't think I've ever been to a Thai restaurant without ordering one of the classics, but I have to say I didn't feel like I missed out because everything we got was so good. My husband and I agreed it was a 4/4 with the food. Our server was Joe, and he was so friendly and made the experience so much better. Highly recommend. We ordered the oysters, which were delicious and came with a green sauce that had just the right amount of spice. We also had the Yum Ta Krai Salmon, which tasted incredibly fresh. The Goong Prik Kluea shrimp were large, flavorful, and perfectly cooked! Our favorite dishes of the night were definitely the chicken Tom Kha soup and the Pa Nang scallops. I love a good Tom Kha soup, and this was easily the best I've ever had! It was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, served over a special dish with a flame underneath to keep it hot throughout the meal, such a nice touch! The other standout was the Pa Nang scallops. Whoever makes the sauce for this dish is a genius! I almost wanted to grab a straw and drink the sauce by itself. The scallops were cooked perfectly, and the flavors were incredible. Wow! They also have a great drink menu, but we took advantage of their happy hour specials and ordered a passion fruit mimosa and a coconut mojito. Both had authentic, fresh fruit flavors and paired perfectly with the meal. There is also a speakeasy bar called NOIR, where you can hang out before or after dinner. Talay brings something genuinely different to Orlando with its elevated, seafood-focused take on Thai cuisine. The flower-shaped Chor Muang dumplings were almost too beautiful to eat, with a delicate wrapper and a savory-sweet pork and peanut filling. The Blue Point oysters topped with Talay's mignonette and crispy shallots were incredibly fresh. For the main course, the Hor Mok Talay was rich and aromatic, combining mixed seafood with a red-curry custard, coconut milk and kaffir lime. I loved that bc we wanted something fast but wanted to try this place. We ordered a vermicelli roll with shrimp to start, these wee kinda small but unique with fried vermicelli noodles on top for $8. For our entree we shared the Pad Kee Mow with pork, $17. Loved the flat noodles and basil flavor with peppers. We also got a side of roti for $4. It was not that impressive, kinda seemed like sad frozen boxed roti. I'd skip ordering that. All and all, we enjoyed our visit but I think there are other Thai places we prefer in Orlando. read more

Came here for a Book Club meeting and it was the perfect spot. The place is open with tall ceilings and floor to ceiling windows gave the place such an airy feel. I started off with a great little mocktail. It was super sweet but still delicious. Everyone else in my party seem to like their drinks.The spring rolls were fresh but beware if you don't like spice the sauce that came with it is something you may want to skip great flavor, but way too spicy. My friend got the appetizer roti and it was absolutely phenomenal. I could've eaten the sauce by the spoon full. My tofu pad Thai was really good as well. I'd have to say it was pretty comparable to other Thai restaurants but still was great and the serving was pretty large all in all. The attention to detail was apparent in the preparation of the appetizers which were exceptional. Pair that with accommodating service and a great experience was had by all. This is a very cute modern Thai restaurant. The mango sticky rice cocktail was sweet and delicious, basically tasted like juice. Our food came out practically all at the same time so service is quick. Each dish was delicious. My favorites were the Chilean sea bass in lime broth and the crispy duck. To start, we tried to add scallops to a seafood Pad Thai and our server had to "call a manager" like call a manager on the phone who said no changes. We didn't want to change it, just add. And, for the prices, you would think you could pay more and get what you want. Yes I sound like a brat, but the heart knows what it wants. Other than that, right next door is Noir the speakeasy that is connected. They will not allow the drinks from the speakeasy into the restaurant and they will not serve you in the speakeasy. Best case scenario is you can do takeout and then walk it over to Noir. Because Noir, the speakeasy is flexible. Suffice to say, there are plenty of Thai restaurants which are more flexible. Had a great time here last night! The inside looks good and there is some outdoor seating as well. Note: There is a speakeasy by the bathrooms the door looks like its apart of the wall, but you'll spot it if you look for it. I was not able to check it out, but will definitely be back to. I loved the roti starter so much that we decided to switch a previously chosen entree to the green curry with chicken (Keaw Wan Gai). The pad thai was also delicious with a great amount of peanuts to mix in... Clearly I am a big peanut fan because the star of the show for me was the dumplings!! (Chor Muang). I ordered to come out with the mains and immediately asked for another round. The sweet and salty pork was what drew me in and the peanut flavor is what made me stay. The food was all so amazing I already made plans this morning to go back again with a new group, so they can try it too. As someone who is very picky and from LA, I have pretty high standards when it comes to food in general. Now, I love Thai food, but I wasn't sure about the food scene in Orlando. As soon as I walked in, I was met with the most gorgeous interior. I came at an awkward time so it was very empty, but I preferred it that way. It honestly felt like fine dining. I started with their roti which was absolutely divine. It was melt-in-your mouth DELICIOUS and the coconut curry sauce was out of the world. I got their fried snapper as the main. I usually don't get fish, but the server said it was good. The fish itself was fine?-- but the star of the show was the salad that came with it. It was bursting with so much flavor and added great texture to the meal. Their mocktail was no joke, either. I didn't know a cocktail could be THAT good??? I got their citrus honey mocktail and it almost made me aggressive because it was just so dang good. Orlando, your food is good. Hats off to you. Came here for lunch during a recent stay in Orlando. So hard to pick one thing for lunch when Thai food is one of my favs. Decided to go with the "Pad Kee Mow". I put that in quotes because this place spells it with a mow vs Mao which is technically the correct way. You know how all the asian restaurants have typos on their menus and this is no exception. It is essentially drunken noodles, a name given since this is supposed to be something great after a night of drinking. Just make sure your job isn't proofreading menus. I opted for the shrimp and it came out so quick! Portions are kinda small but I'd have to say their shrimp did not disappoint. They gave me 6 super big juicy suckers. I asked for medium but it was kinda mild but flavor was good. Also got some Thai tea and immediately called Kaiser schedule an appt to have my blood sugar checked. Nice restaurant and very attentive service staff. Love their quick service also. Unless you came by Uber you'd have to park in the paid garage around the corner. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy and aesthetically pleasing. It had an ocean vibe and their menu was very extensive. Their drink menu included photos and it definitely helps in the process of choosing what to drink. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai with mild spice. It wasn't spicy at all, so I think next time I'll ask for medium to hot spice. My friends ordered the spring rolls as well as the oysters and the crab and pork Hoy Jor. The service was phenomenal and the food came out very quick. Our server was nice enough to split our check three ways, and consistently checked in on us to ensure the food was tasty and asked if we needed anything else. The inside decorations are cute and simple. It felt really spacious when you walk in and there's a nice waiting couch near the front door, along with a patio-like area. A downside is that the restaurant is in downtown so it can be hard to find parking. I got lucky with a street parking right outside during lunch time. About the food, I really enjoyed it! We ordered drinks first and they came out fairly quickly. I really enjoyed the roti. The curry sauce with it was slightly spicy and paired well with the roti. I also enjoyed the honey's passion! We sat at the bar, but didn't know we needed to check in for the hostess stand. As most bars you just bypass and sit. The hostess may have been annoyed with did that, from her demeanor. She brought us menus and we ordered a guava beverage and a traditional beer. Both were refreshing and cold. First things first: I love Thai food. It's in my top 3 most ordered cuisines on Uber Eats so I order it fairly often and am accustomed to eating it out of takeout containers in front of my TV lol. So to say that I was excited about an elevated dining experience with Thai food is an understatement! All were delicious and I'd recommend them all but I do have to comment on the pricing. You are definitely paying a little more money for the ambiance and presentation. Like I said previously, I order Thai takeout A LOT and the food at Talay is honestly comparable to a lot of other Thai places in town but a little more money, and in some instances, like with the starters, the food portions are smaller than other Thai spots. This shrinkflation is happening all over the country right now and you'll probably notice that Talay is not exempt from this trend. I think if you know this going in, it'll help to temper your expectations. I think the best scenarios to go to Talay are for date night or a happy hour hangout with close friends. It's definitely worth a visit for a night out and I definitely enjoyed myself there. The food was delicious, the customer service was stellar and again, the ambiance is lovely. The server was really nice and helpful explaining the menu. To start we got the raw salmon and spring rolls. We also got Roti and this was amazing. The spring rolls were good, but it almost felt like something was missing. I really enjoyed the salmon, but I will say that the raw garlic was overpowering at times. Me and my friend really enjoyed the drinks here. I liked my pad Thai, but I do prefer it a little bit more sweet. The plating of the food here was really nice. Elevated Thai Food, yes please! This restaurant takes it to the next level on Thai cuisine. The flavors are typical to the region but the execution was mind blowing. Every bite was a flavor bomb. My mom is from Northern Thailand and she would explain the food here as Central to Southern style. Non-the-less, Thai food at its finest. Its good to finally have a Thai restaurant in Orlando to be proud of. The restaurant is modern and clean. The menu is simple to navigate and to read, especially if you have not experienced Thai food.
