Best indo chinese fusion restaurant in the area !!! The menu is really innovative. We went on a girl's night out and the service we received was outstanding. We ordered the Achari portabella and it was out of the world!!! The mixed grill platter was great but the salmon deserves a special mention. I was worried about the chili lamb and chili chicken that we ordered because most of the restaurants makes it with a thick coating of corn flour... But boy.... this Chili lamb was so succulent and meaty !!! The best that I have eaten in any Indian restaurant so far... Schezuan fried rice was amazing too.... Desserts were great but my friends complained about the quantity. We ordered Falooda and Cassata. Delicious but meager portions.. Over all its a must visit and worth a try...Definitely going back there. I am giving a 4.8 !!! read more

Hard to see why takes would be negative here. Service was excellent and unlike many Indian restaurants decor was nice and space was big. The many menu items might indicate poor quality but there was only one miss (achari portobello - mushroom taste missing and bit too oily). But man were there some hits (luckwani paneer - one of the best saucy paneer dishes you'll ever have) and the Hera Kebab (great taste and not very oily). Stuffed eggplant was a knock out too. They didn't over fry the veggies (actually tasted and looked fresh). Some excellent potential veggie choices to come back to also. But really in an area that many restaurants survive on mediocrity because of the large south Asian population you gotta give a hand to a restaurant that actually tries to make dining on Indian food something more. read more

This used to be our go-to spot for Indian food, but we will never return again. They charge a "dine -in fee", but require you to place your own order and pay online, while the waiters just stare aimlessly around the room. After multiple attempts to use their automated ordering/payment system without success (repeated error messages) the waiter took my cell phone from me so he could manually place our orders. The concept of using a pad and paper to take an order was lost on this restaurant. My husband's food came without any of the naan that we ordered, and I sat there for 15 minutes waiting for my meal to finally arrive without apology. We had barely finished eating when they asked if we could vacate the table within 15 min. Less than five minutes later, they started placing table settings for the next guest on our table while, we were trying to finish our drinks. Hands down, this was the worst dining experience we ever had in any restaurant. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Was excellent food! Went for a ladies night out, service was poor otherwise it would be 5

Why is your service so slow? I had to wait an hour for my order to arrive! And is the food even worth the wait? Hah! Nowhere near it. A sheer waste of time and dime, as they say. Both the lamb vindaloo and the goan fish curry had an odd taste. Are your ingredients not fresh? The fish was definitely rotten and no amount of spices could cover that up. I had a very bad experience here. read more

Really bad time management with respect to getting the guests seated. Don't know about the food as we never got to try. We were told 30 mins wait time .... only to find out that the wait was more than hour and half. If you don't know to use fancy apps ... you just shouldn't. Please don't fool your guests. read more

I was always apprehensive of these huge restaurant chains but I thought I'd give it a try. And boy was my hesitation valid! Our table wasn't clean, the plates smelled weird and when I reported this to the waiter that man literally smirked! Now I know a smirk when I see one, I do not know what this was about but nobody, I mean nobody, came to clean the table although the plates were replaced later. Arrogance always ruins such hugeass places I say. read more

Food is expensive but some dishes are pretty good. Chili chicken is delicious and most of the noodle dishes are tasty. Not a place to come to for a casual pickup since the prices are on the higher side. Rice dishes are ok. read more

Bad food. I ordered mild food but the food that was served was extremely spicy. We hardly ate anything and asked the server to bring the bill. I did tell the server that food is way too spicy and i had asked for mild version. The server could see that we didn't eat anything we also refused to pack the food. Still there was no courtesy from the restaurant side. We paid and left without eating. read more

Had dinner yesterday. We had appetizers & entrees. Food quality was ok. All had the same tomato based sauce which is kind of not what you expect in North Indian food. I would avoid this place. Quality has deteriorated now. Unfortunately there are no other decent punjabi restaurants nearby. It is way over crowded during rush hour affecting food & service. read more

I am a big fan and a critique of Indo Chinese food..I was visiting from West Coast and in search for a good Indo Chinese Restaurant I landed up here with my friends..!! I would probably say that this is THE BEST indo Chinese food i have ever had in America..#NoKidding..i would rather book a flight to Jersey again to eat this food than going to India..Definitely try the Chilly chicken and the spring rolls..!! read more

Very rude owner. I called this evening to ask if there was a wait. To which he replied, "There is no wait, you can walk in anytime." After 5 minutes when I arrived there, the owner was rude to other guests as well and said he is fully booked and minimum wait would be hour or more. This has happened to us before also, He would give some different information over the phone and when you get there its a whole different story. Very disappointed at their customer service. read more

We didn't even get to eat the food but don't trust the wait time that the front desk guy tells you! This is on a Saturday! We initially waited for 30 mins (informed via some fancy app which they don't know how to use) and the guy added 5 people ahead of us without notifying (fancy app doesn't notify this just FYI). After having waited for already 45 mins, nobody notified of the additional wait Time. @spicerack Please be respectful of customers time and start notifying regarding the additional wait time. Not coming again. read more

Good food ruined by subpar customer service. We went on a Thursday night, were seated without a wait, and placed our orders no problem. 45 minutes pass and no food- not even our naan. No one came to check up on us. The people next to us who arrived 10 minutes after us had already began eating. When we do get our food shortly afterward, it is a completely different order. The hostess seemed confused and like she didn't know what to do, so she asked if we want the food anyway. At this point we just wanted to eat so I said yes. Then the manager comes over and takes everything away without so much as looking at us or saying anything. All of the wait staff seemed confused about the entire situation. No one acknowledged the mistake to us, let alone apologized. Another 20 minutes pass before we finally receive the food we had ordered. They gave us the check as soon as our plates were clear (as they wanted us out of there) but then it took another 15 minutes for to pick up the check. The actual food (rosemary naan, aloo tikki chaat, chicken Manchurian, railway chicken curry) was good, but I can't see myself ever coming back given the quality of service. read more

Ordered takeout on Mother's day. Placed online order at 5pm for a 6:30 pm pickup. Reached the parking lot at 6:30 and was told that I had 2 orders ahead of me and should be ready in 10 mins. That 10 minutes turned into 90 minutes of frustrating wait. I appreciate restaurants in general are open at all and doing their best, but it's not ok to make people wait hours in a parking lot that too way beyond their pickup times. After waiting for almost an hour, when I got the guy on the phone, he was so rude and said that it'll take 10 minutes for him to even find out the status of my order ! Go figure !! Never again to this place ! read more

Good food, dine in experience not so much. I'll start off by saying I absolutely love their food, the ambiance and decor is really good. The technology they use is very high tech but definitely has some major hicuups. QR code menu and ordering is pretty standard but super slow, we were stairing at our screen majority of the time trying to order. The order wouldn't go through but we got charged 5 times for it. You cant just add items to your existing order, you have to start a whole new order each time. When the Robo comes with the food we were never sure if it was our or is he just making a stop. I dont understand their new fee structure, we are charged a hefty "Dine-in" fee/Service charge + Gratuity for ordering the food and serving it ourselves, what service are they providing to justify the charge???? My overall experience was not very pleasant. They seem to have lost their vision in an attempt to differentiate themselves...high end restaurant with self service, which is contradictory in my opinion. read more

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! WARNING FOR STALE ROTTEN OLD FOOD BEING SOLD! We placed a large order of several soups, 4 starters, multiple main course dishes last night for pick up. We had family friends over for dinner. We picked up the order around 9:15pm. This place is not close by and before the pandemic we used to love their food so we didn't mind driving 45 minutes to get there and another 45 minutes to get back. When we opened up the take out there was a smell like it was stale. But we decided to heat it up well before tasting anything. The soup was manageable and after heating the starters seemed to smell okay. By the time we reached the Hakka noodles for the main course there was a terrible taste to it and the stink was even worse. We decided not to take a chance and threw it out. We didn't eat anything more after that because it was terrible to taste and not to mention embarrassing to serve this to guests. Unfortunately it doesn't stop there. Everyone who braved the soups and starters had terrible stomach upsets and were ill at night. It felt like old stale food and leftovers from the restaurant from previous days were tossed and heated and packed for our order. Our guests and we are NEVER going to return to Spice Rack again! We wanted to warn as many people to be careful if you go there. With the pandemic maybe things are difficult and they decided to cut corners and costs by recycling old food. Unfortunately that is a 'recipe' for disaster! They have managed to lose customers and if this has happened to us, then it's probably happened before. Even if others don't get completely spoiled food like we did, it is likely many people are getting leftovers and stale food. Be careful. You don't want to be falling ill especially when we are all trying to avoid doctors offices and hospitals. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I HOPE THEY READ THIS AND MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES BEFORE SOMEONE FALLS EVEN MORE ILL THAN US! WE HAVE DEFINITELY HAD SOME LEVEL OF FOOD POISONING. WE WERE SPARED NEEDING TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT WE STOPPED AND THREW MOST OF IT IN THE TRASH! BUT EVEN THEN, MANY OF US STILL FELL ILL. read more

Friends invited us to join them for dinner. We were promptly seated for our 7pm reservation. The head waiter was friendly and took our order. For appetizers we had the scallops and the chicken momos. The scallops had a good spicy bite to it. We had the mixed grill tandoor and the tandoor pomfret. For vegetables we had the malai kofta and the mixed vegetables. The garlic naan was fresh and tasty. The dishes were well seasoned and presented. We were not year done with our meal about an hour or so seated and the servers were so eager to clear the table. We felt rushed and somewhat disconcerted especially when one of the servers asked us to vacate the table as there were people waiting although there were about 4 or more tables empty. While the food was good, not stellar, this experience of being rushed and asked to leave soon after we were almost done is the reason why this place gets only two stars. Never in all my years of dining (from Burger King to Le Bernardin) did I experience this! read more

What an excellent find. Thanks to all the positive comments. We rolled the dice and drove 30 min based on the other reviews and we were NOT disappointed. The food was very tasty, the selection was huge, the service was excellent and the overall experience was worth the drive. Me and my family went here and my first impression was that it is too small. But we were seated right away. The ambiance was different for an Indian restaurant, which I personally liked very much. The appetizer came pretty quickly and were really good. We ordered Spring rolls and assorted pakoras. The food took a while to come after the appetizers but it was definitely worth the while. I would recommend the chili garlic noodles!!! Overall the food was really yummy and the staff was really friendly. Must go!!! read more

Have been here several times and the quality of the food is just not there anymore. Yesterday's experience was pushed me over the top and don't think I am going back anytime soon. Stopped by yesterday too pick up food for an order that was place for a party. When I got there one the servers said let me go check to see if it's ready. He comes back and says they will text us when it's ready. To that I said our pick up time is now and asked how long it will take. He comes back and says to the other the guy there is nothing ready for our order. After that comes with our order slip and goes it's for Saturday. I was like today is Saturday. In the meantime the older lady comes and says they are working on it and give them 5-10 minutes. I had asked them straight up what the issue is and if food isn't ready to let us know. She's like the server doesn't know anything and walks away. 20 minutes go by and I ask what seems to be issue. The answer I received this time was the tandoor wasn't turned on so it takes 20 minutes for it to get warm so the food will be ready in 25 minutes. At this time it's almost an hour and they start to bring the party order out. I asked to speak to manager regarding what they are going to do for us since we had to wait for over an hour. His answer after going back and forth on several issues with as we have people who place order for 5:00 pickup and don't come to pick it up til 45 minutes. I was livid with that answer. I think I would have been simply just happy with the right answers what really happened verses me getting run around. Things happen but be honest. read more

Very good Indo-Chinese fusion food. I do feel that is is a wee overpriced though. A good place to take family and friends.

We were party of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids on a Monday evening...Asked for a booth & were told thats for 6-7 people & instead they wanted us to sit in a booth thats meant for four people. When we declined, we were grudgingly given a table for 6. Let me first say the positive things: Never had any issues with takeaway and the food is better than other local Indian places I have visited as they have a really good amount of choice of food items on their menu. Here is where it gets bad: We ordered Kai Chi and the meat was tough. I have had chicken lollipops elsewhere where the meat falls of the bone, well not here. So it was ok. Mentioned it to a server who pointed to another server who just ignored us. Got 2 mango lassi & asked for it to be split into 3, well we were told, there is extra water glass on table and then asked to do it ourselves....ok. We ordered soup and asked for it to be split as it was for the kids. Same thing...were given an extra bowl and wanted us to split it. By now I was wondering what exactly was I getting in the form of a service. By the end of the meal, we were given containers and again, no service they want to put our leftovers in the containers by ourselves. When asked I was told, people doubted them when they took food in and put it in containers, saying they gave them less food. My reply to that was, ok then bring containers out to the table and you put it in. If I wanted to go out to eat and do all the splitting, putting leftovers in etc, why would i come to a rstaurant? I would rather eat at home. Party of 5 (3 kids under 10) so we were charged 18% gratuity. Gratuity in my mind is for service. Its not set whether we give you service or not, you pay. So when I am not getting any service apart from just bringing the food out, why would I want to pay 18%? I was told its necessary. Here is my bill Food $87 Tax $6 Gratuity $15.80 Total $109.42 Are you kidding me? Almost $16 tip for a service thats non-existent. For bringing out the food, I would have probably left $10 but for me to pay $16 tip, I need to see some really top of the line service that you see at other American or Italian places, where I have given even 25% as a tip because they are so attentive & will pack everything for you with a smile, no matter if you go on a busy day or not. I certainly wont be going to this restaurant for sit down meal. It was my husband's birthday but no offer to give a dessert on house (which they do at American/Italian places), forget that, no offer to even pack our food on table. Just here are the containers. All the servers had this bored look on their face. Some couldnt even understand English so what am I paying for? Also since when is gratuity calculated on food plus tax amount? Gratuity is on food only, why would anyone pay gratuity on tax? Its like paying tax on tax. I am sorry but these practices do not reflect into good business. Yes the food is good at least in majority of the dishes but I am not willing to split drinks, soups or pay over priced gratuity on a day when I want a day off from kitchen. Sorry...feel bad as this used to be our go to place when it was smaller, in a different location. Not any more. read more
