Tried their weekend buffet. Food was ok. Goat meat was relatively soft. Food wasn't too spicy so kids can eat if they can handle a little spice. We went since the manager directly told us that our kids (2 and 4 years old) were free. However after eating they charged for both kids saying the kids ate. Of course people would eat for a meal. Urban Spice is absolutely amazing! The shrimp dish I had with coconut sauce was creamy & perfectly spiced. The naan was soft and perfect for soaking up all of the sauce. The decor was unique and welcoming from a peacock clock as you entered the restaurant to a large silver vanity mirror on the walls in the dining area to a part of the wall near the entrance dedicated to the owner that had newspaper clippings about Urban Spice as well as the owner with wooden spatulas affixed to the wall in between pictures of the owner and the newspaper articles. But we can bring our own bottle and they will charge a fee. When we arrived, surprised to find out that bar is not open. And we didn't even bring our alcohol. On top of that manager declined to meet us and keep on insisting that they will charge bottle fee even when their bar was not open. So unprofessional. Never ever going there. Imagine calling themselves professional and not even bothering to come to meet customers. And lying to customers and trying to grab money when they are not selling alcohol. This place is a hidden gem! We went there today for Easter brunch and the food was DELISH!! They had a variety of veg and non veg dishes (including Asian fusion fried chicken, chicken curry, lamb curry, fish, paneer, daal, kofta, Hakka noodles, chicken and veg Biriyani ) and apps (pani puri, and others I honestly don't remember). The food was fresh and the biriyani was one the most delicious biriyanis I've had. They also have items a la carte (we got the gulab jamun because it wasn't available at the buffet). Have eaten here quite a few times- This restaurant has by far the best vegetarian biryani ( I know, there's no such thing as a veg biryani) that I've had outside Hyderabad. My carnivore friends swear by the taste, texture, and flavour of the food that they have eaten as well. Good service, was always greeted well, and served well. They've recently opened bar and it has a nice collection of Indian beers, scotch and whiskey as well as wine. Ambiance is something they need to do something about. I was super excited to try this new Indian restaurant! When I arrived I parked in their private lot. I walked in and was greeted and sat in the beautiful dining area. Rakesh and Rifat were my servers, and they were great! I started with some Merlot. I was then served several items from the menu which included the Dahi Bhalia, Tulsi Paneer Tikka, Maloo Mutter, Samosa, Malal Kofta, Dal Makhani, Assorted Bhajiya, Fish, Amritari, Kadhai Paneer, Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and the Vegetable Biryani. Ordered pick up from Urban Spice, as we were craving Indian food. I fondly remember the old location in Edison area, where my family had enjoyed the food over the years. The quality of Indian food in the Princeton area has gone downhill since Covid, so we were anxiously to try from here. We ordered garlic chili naan and Chicken Saagwala (to try). The general feedback is the food is good and the prices generally reasonable given how expensive Indian restaurants have gotten. Anyway - got home tonight after an abusive work meeting and ordered the PP via Door Dash which was delivered on time and tasty but no rice. In typical pissed off (because if IM PAYING THIRTY BUCKS FOR SPINACH AND CHEESE WHERES THE DAMN RICE) fashion, I called Urban Spice and explained the situation. Urban Spice then walked a carton of rice to my house. I'm so grateful. When I asked to speak to the manager, he arrived with an attitude. wouldn't give me a chance to speak but spoke over me.
