To clarify, this review is specifically for the Thali. The butter chicken was good, but the curry chicken was a bit bland. We would consider going back to try their other dishes, but probably not on a weekday during a lunch break. If you're coming from work and need to get back quickly, this may not be the best spot for a quick lunch.

When I first noticed this new Indian spot on Yelp I didn't realize it occupied the same location as…read morea very good Polish spot. In spite of good reviews and a second change in decor, that business was not able to survive very long. As I walked in to pick up my order I had mixed feelings. Sad about the fact that another very good and unique European restaurant was gone, and wondering about the future success of the new business. I noticed that the place had been painted and redecorated once again . This I guess could be called an Indian fusion house, offering many common dishes along with some I had not heard of. They also have Indo Chinese options. My first visit was so good that I thought I would return once more before reviewing. I tried the garlic naan and aloo paratha, both good to very good. The paratha was very thin and had a delicately spiced potato mixture inside, I wished there was more filling but enjoyed as it was. The chicken 65 tasted very good, but had too much sauce as I would have preferred the pieces of meat to be crispy. Chicken Radha was a rustic curry with about half of a bone in chicken. I loved this dish and the portion was 2 meals. Chicken biryani was equally tasty and came with very good raita. Chicken Manchow soup was new to me, think hot and sour soup and then add copious amounts of ginger and garlic. You have to like garlic to appreciate this soup, and I do and did! Service was friendly on both visits and orders were packed up very well, with additional onion, lime and peppers for the biryani and crispy noodles to top the soup with. A good friend went to dine in and had a great meal too, taking advantage of the all you can eat lunch Thali. I'm at about 4.5 stars for now....

There are 2 very good South Asian restaurants in Monroe Township/Jamesburg. Both have excellent…read morefood and locations. This one has an edge with its Palak Chat which is outstanding and it used to be goat curry but no longer as Thumkaa has a great goat curry. And of course a full Bar. So when we want Palak Chat only we visit. Thumkaa however has better service. Their employees have a superb benefit living package and stay longer. Mrs. Kumar used to have great service but many of its staff have left. So you have 3-4 I assume management standing around and even with a bar when you order anything it takes 5+ minutes and re-ordering to be served. Thumkaa management makes a point to come around, especially Sunil. We have met Mrs. Kumar a few times but there is no recognition to guests that come frequently as with Sunil at Thumkaa. Chefs are both good but Ifran at Thumkaa visits with folks. The kheer which was great has changed into something terrible. No rice . No live music and buffet (fine dining). A in food and B in service. B+ atmosphere.

We thought that this was very flavorful. Mrs. Kumar's assorted bread basket- this was delicious. Hubs loved the variety. Chicken 65 Biryani (boneless)- I loved the egg that came with it. It's definitely one of the better one that we've had. The biryani didn't taste like it was premade. Everything was melded together really nice. Goan fish curry- we ordered this medium. We were expecting the to be a little bit spicier. The medium sauce was just right and delicious. Fish pakora- this was pretty good as well, but our least favorite. It looked more like fish nuggets. There's a fee of 2.99% if you used credit card. We wished the menu was more descriptive. We had to google it. The place is very allergy friendly. Our server wrote on our order to not put peanuts in anything. Service was friendly and quick. Will return when in the area to try other items on the menu!

A weekday visit turned out to be an excellent tactical decision - no crowds, swift service, and…read morezero chaos. The chaos, however, was entirely self-inflicted: eight opinionated adults staring at a menu where everything looked good is a recipe for collective disaster. Our server, bless him, stepped in like a professional mediator and steered us toward some solid choices. The food arrived hot and largely delivered on its promise. Largely. The Poori Aloo, while perfectly edible, lacked a certain - as our Punjabi taste buds put it, rather bluntly: the oomph. The Amritsari Kulcha, meanwhile, seems to have had a bit of an identity crisis - it showed up tasting like an Aloo Parantha. For anyone who's had the real deal in Amritsar, this one may prompt a moment of reflection. Everything else, however, was genuinely enjoyable and the menu is a vegetarian's dream come true. Minor culinary debates aside, it's absolutely worth a visit.

The server suggested the specials for the day and we ordered two of them - Tandoori Soya Chaap (appetizer) & Paneer Angara (curry). Tandoori Soya Chaap was 10/10. Main course: Paneer Angara - no where close to the actual dish. It was more like Paneer Kadhai. Methi Malai Paneer, I would rate a 6.5/10. Naans were good. Dal Tadka (not in picture) was good as well but missed tadka. Overall, we were kinda satisfied. Would definitely be coming back for Tandoori Soya Chaap. Huge parking lot, quick service!
