Our first time at this location and 100% recommend it. Good varieties of dosas and options to customize as per your taste. Everything we ordered was served fresh and in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend trying their Rasam idli/vada combo, Madurai Masala Dosa, Paneer Mysore Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee. Best sambhar/coconut chutney I have had in NJ so far, and free refills. Dosa Grill, Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality. We will certainly be back.
After reading the reviews, we wanted to give this place a try. We've been to the North Brunswick location and liked that place. We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Gunpowder dosa, which are spicy milage pods dosa with potatoes and onion. There was a nice kick of spices to it. We thought that the dosa was nicely done, crispy at the end and soft in the middle. Would definitely recommend. Chili garlic noodles- We liked this entree as well. Hubs wasn't sure why they gave us ketchup. Hubs ordered a Diet Coke and was surprised to get an Aldi's diet soda.. This soda did the trick to extinguish the spiciness. LOL. I ordered Chai and it was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return and try other items on the menu.
Really really really good! We are a big fan of dosas. And this was something we found on a whim after visiting the local temple. Here's what we ended up getting. Masala Dosa: great, very crispy crepe. Feeling was also very good but not very spicy. This came with a coconut chutney which was very tasty as well as a tomato chutney which was also very good. Sambar: very good wish it had drumsticks in it but can't ask for everything but had a very spicy and flavorful broth. Dal vada: excellent Bhojia: excellent these sauce that it came with the coconut chutney, was really really tasty Ambiance is pretty sparse. Bathroom is clean. Service was very prompt no issues This is a very family friendly restaurant so expect a lot of screaming children and loud talking. They don't really have much of a waiting area so we were seated close to the door and there's a lot of draft coming from the outside as well as the noise. If these things bother you and you probably won't enjoy this dining experience. Parking free and in a parking lot. Overall good dining experience if I was in the area I would definitely come back.

Dosa is a specialty dish at any Indian restaurant. The Dosa Grill takes this specially and provides numerous variations of the standard dish. I highly recommend trying the spicy versions of whatever you get. The Dosa is a crepe with filling make of potato and onions. Sometimes subbing the potatoes with paneer. These items have some salt and pepper but really stand out when you add the spices. The ambiance is very much a fast food dinner setting. Service is good but be ready to flag the staff for help. It's not a fancy place and you pay at the counter when done. A great place at any time but probably not enough to fill a dinner.

Worked with Dheeraj from this location and everything was easy to coordinate. When our friend went to pick up the food, the folks at the restaurant were nice to help bring it to the car. Also, the sambhar was packed so well - in a steel container and it was put in a crate for easy transfer. Do consider using them for catering as well
Have eaten at the restaurant numerous times now and had their catered services for 3 different occasions - I can't rave enough about Dosa Grill's food! It's delicious, consistent and great service every time! The price can't be beat either for the amount of food you get when catering. Rajeev has managed all 3 catered services and is always thorough, and his team is always punctual and tidy. I will definitely be using their catering and dining in restaurant again!
First time trying Dosa and the staff was very helpful. They recommended I try the Mumbai Street Dosa, and it did not disappoint. Contrary to what many others have said in their reviews, the staff checked in on me regularly and was very kind. Don't forget to eat with your hands and dip the Dosa into the Lentil Soup. The soup was so delicious, and had just enough spice. The Mango Lassi was also very yummy, and the perfect balance between sweet and sour, the perfect compliment to the salty and spicy Dosa. This dish is veggie forward and so flavorful, it made eating veggies fun and delicious. A must try if you're in the area.
Dosa Grill was an Indian place that I found on my way back from Downtown Princeton. I needed good, authentic Indian food in a simple setting because I was just on my own, traveling home. For that, it served its purpose well, even though it was required to get table service. I think this place should be fast casual or more of a take-out set up. The waiter was very polite, but he had trouble communicating in a way I could understand. I asked for some suggestions but did not get them. While I wanted an authentic place, and while I was looking for something simple and easy, I still might expect some more accessibility. The dish I ordered was vegetarian, which I often order at Indian places, but it had no protein source. The sauce, however, was delicious. I asked for medium spicy and got that. A lot of my observations need to be taken with a grain of salt because someone who is a lot more familiar with all the dishes would have no problem. The prices were reasonable, and parking was easy. Overall, I felt comfortable with the experience and did not dislike it.
The madras coffee is amazing. The best coffee ever had anywhere. It taste just right. The aroma of the coffee as it arrives just blows your mind away. And it's delicious.

Lastly , a butter milk w tadka! The service was prompt and friendly.
Not too impressed by this place. Would much rather go to sarvana bhavan in Edison or nyc. We were in that area and decided to stop by this place for dosa. We ordered Mumbai street dosa and Mysore cheese masala dosa. The Mumbai street dosa was tolerable but the Mysore dosa lacked flavor for me. We also ordered medu vada which was not well fried and very raw from inside. The place got crowded real soon and is not organized well. There were so many ppl waiting for a table for sometime and after like half an hour they were told the kitchen is closed.
Absolutely delicious! Huge portions, and tasty food! Very bright and clean restaraunt. Nice waiters, good service.

I just came for my holiday meal here while the rest of the family was eating turkey, and while the place was nice and the service was attentive I left unimpressed with my Thali. It was meh- not awful, just not really really good. I asked for South Indian and received the usual sambar, rasam, (both were unbalanced with same exact flavor profile too much coriander) and that was the end of the South Indian meal- Tarka dal, which is always a favorite but nothing out of the ordinary, potatoes and paneer tikka. The second rice didn't taste like tamarind rice which is my favorite- but I suppose was some kind of biryani. It all was ok but don't think I'll come again- I wanted authentic South Indian flavor- and just maybe was served a gringo meal instead. . read more

We loved Dosa Grill in NB so was pleasantly surprised to see another branch open up in East Windsor. They have many types of dosas and I ordered the Gongura Dosa, which is a tangy pickled one. The place is clean and located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Service was good too. read more
Okay this is not my favorite dosa spots but it does the job in satisfying a craving. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and the food is pretty darn good at a decent price. Most places have taken the liberty of increasing prices while this place has kept its prices without compromising portions or quality. We had a Mysore masala dosa, spring dosa and cauliflower 65. The potato filling for the dosa was flavorful and the sambar was tangy and spicy but not too spicy. The cauliflower 65 was nice and crispy although I am not a fan of the food coloring. The green chutney it was served with added a nice touch. This is sure to become one of my go to spots. read more

Dosa Grill (formerly Dosa Place) is probably the only restaurant in the area that I know that serves dosas, which are Indian pancakes with many choices of fillings. I had Mumbai Street dosas with medium spice. As a non- Indian I'm not that used to spice so it was really hot for me! However it was really good! You will also get generous portions. My wife's soda was bigger than a dinner plate! A fair amount of Indian customers were there also that night and had a nice time. read more

never had a dosa in my life before, but coming here, I had the best experience, restaurant to myself, great service, they even gave me a complimentary dessert for coming for my first time! It was delicious! definitely coming back! thank you again :) read more

Had some amazing authentic South Indian food after a long time. The mini idlis dipped in the rasam melted in our mouths. The medu vadas and onion Rava masala dosa were excellent too. Great service, extremely clean, well managed during this pandemic. Highly recommend this place!! read more
