After reading the reviews, we wanted to give this place a try. We've been to the North Brunswick location and liked that place. We were immediately seated after arriving and ordered the following: Gunpowder dosa, which are spicy milage pods dosa with potatoes and onion. There was a nice kick of spices to it. We thought that the dosa was nicely done, crispy at the end and soft in the middle. Would definitely recommend. Chili garlic noodles- We liked this entree as well. Hubs wasn't sure why they gave us ketchup. Hubs ordered a Diet Coke and was surprised to get an Aldi's diet soda.. This soda did the trick to extinguish the spiciness. LOL. I ordered Chai and it was delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return and try other items on the menu.

Our first time at this location and 100% recommend it. Good varieties of dosas and options to customize as per your taste. Everything we ordered was served fresh and in less than 15 minutes. Highly recommend trying their Rasam idli/vada combo, Madurai Masala Dosa, Paneer Mysore Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee. Best sambhar/coconut chutney I have had in NJ so far, and free refills. Dosa Grill, Thank you for the delicious food and hospitality. We will certainly be back.

Really really really good! We are a big fan of dosas. And this was something we found on a whim after visiting the local temple. Here's what we ended up getting. Masala Dosa: great, very crispy crepe. Feeling was also very good but not very spicy. This came with a coconut chutney which was very tasty as well as a tomato chutney which was also very good. Sambar: very good wish it had drumsticks in it but can't ask for everything but had a very spicy and flavorful broth. Dal vada: excellent Bhojia: excellent these sauce that it came with the coconut chutney, was really really tasty Ambiance is pretty sparse. Bathroom is clean. Service was very prompt no issues This is a very family friendly restaurant so expect a lot of screaming children and loud talking. They don't really have much of a waiting area so we were seated close to the door and there's a lot of draft coming from the outside as well as the noise. If these things bother you and you probably won't enjoy this dining experience. Parking free and in a parking lot. Overall good dining experience if I was in the area I would definitely come back.

Dosa is a specialty dish at any Indian restaurant. The Dosa Grill takes this specially and provides numerous variations of the standard dish. I highly recommend trying the spicy versions of whatever you get. The Dosa is a crepe with filling make of potato and onions. Sometimes subbing the potatoes with paneer. These items have some salt and pepper but really stand out when you add the spices. The ambiance is very much a fast food dinner setting. Service is good but be ready to flag the staff for help. It's not a fancy place and you pay at the counter when done. A great place at any time but probably not enough to fill a dinner.

Have eaten at the restaurant numerous times now and had their catered services for 3 different occasions - I can't rave enough about Dosa Grill's food! It's delicious, consistent and great service every time! The price can't be beat either for the amount of food you get when catering. Rajeev has managed all 3 catered services and is always thorough, and his team is always punctual and tidy. I will definitely be using their catering and dining in restaurant again!

Good food, decent service and clean interiors We had idli vada combo, rava dosa and gun powder masala dosa All were tasty. liked the sambhar and chutney We also ended up ordering idli-sambar for a function - order of 100 idlis. Worked with Dheeraj from this location and everything was easy to coordinate. When our friend went to pick up the food, the folks at the restaurant were nice to help bring it to the car. Also, the sambhar was packed so well - in a steel container and it was put in a crate for easy transfer. Do consider using them for catering as well

First time trying Dosa and the staff was very helpful. They recommended I try the Mumbai Street Dosa, and it did not disappoint. Contrary to what many others have said in their reviews, the staff checked in on me regularly and was very kind. Don't forget to eat with your hands and dip the Dosa into the Lentil Soup. The soup was so delicious, and had just enough spice. The Mango Lassi was also very yummy, and the perfect balance between sweet and sour, the perfect compliment to the salty and spicy Dosa. This dish is veggie forward and so flavorful, it made eating veggies fun and delicious. A must try if you're in the area.

Dosa Grill was an Indian place that I found on my way back from Downtown Princeton. I needed good, authentic Indian food in a simple setting because I was just on my own, traveling home. For that, it served its purpose well, even though it was required to get table service. I think this place should be fast casual or more of a take-out set up. The waiter was very polite, but he had trouble communicating in a way I could understand. I asked for some suggestions but did not get them. While I wanted an authentic place, and while I was looking for something simple and easy, I still might expect some more accessibility. The dish I ordered was vegetarian, which I often order at Indian places, but it had no protein source. The sauce, however, was delicious. I asked for medium spicy and got that. A lot of my observations need to be taken with a grain of salt because someone who is a lot more familiar with all the dishes would have no problem. The prices were reasonable, and parking was easy. Overall, I felt comfortable with the experience and did not dislike it.

Not too impressed by this place. Would much rather go to sarvana bhavan in Edison or nyc. We were in that area and decided to stop by this place for dosa. We ordered Mumbai street dosa and Mysore cheese masala dosa. The Mumbai street dosa was tolerable but the Mysore dosa lacked flavor for me. We also ordered medu vada which was not well fried and very raw from inside. The place got crowded real soon and is not organized well. There were so many ppl waiting for a table for sometime and after like half an hour they were told the kitchen is closed.

The food here is insanely fresh as was our daily interpretation involving copious use of root vegetables. In a Woodstock mood, I went for a mushroom motif inclusive of a mushroom onion soup and mushroom infused homemade cavatelli. You won't get points for atmosphere as the location is main street central and directly across from an Irish pub that is still serving the same slab of corned beef that they first boiled in 1991. If you're a foodie or even a fraudie, 12 Farms offers infinite pleasures and is richly deserving of a resounding five stars. Speaking of rich bring lots of cash as plastic is not accepted.

The soup sampling consisted of three very tiny cups that were sort of like an espresso size cup. The salad was a very small portion. They said that the portion sizes were not smaller because of the $65 price fix option. If you ordered the salads à la carte they arranged from $19-$22 I believe. Had I did the à la cart and received that portion for that much money I would be disappointed to say the least; my wife and I often share a salad before entrées and generally speaking they are big enough to share but their portion wasn't enough for me alone. Presentation was beautiful and service was great, as well as the ambience, and we have been there several times. We are raying a 3 because of the positives, but I did consider making it a 2. I hope the restaurant takes note and addresses the piints I made. Note that the entrée portions were good.

The interiors are done nicely, with modern and trendy touches (which is considered quite fancy for East Windsor). It fulfills a much-needed gap as there just aren't many decent sit-down Mexican eateries with a bar in this part of New Jersey. If drinks with fancy presentation are your thing, then you're in for a treat here. They do have a list of daily specials, but their Taco Tuesday offering of 10% off specialty taco dinners seems kind of weak compared to competitors as those meals run $19 and up. Meals start off with complimentary chips and salsa, which is always nice to munch on. The chips (3.5/5) were served warm, and came with 2 types of salsa. We also got an order of the cheese dip (3.5/5), which was decent in quality without being overly cheesy and generous in portion size, but at $11, probably something I wouldn't order again unless sharing with a larger group of people...this is an item where they should offer a smaller portion for $6-7, and keep an option for a large size at $11. For meals, we got the chicken quesadillas rellenas (4/5), the pollo asado (4.5/5), and the vegetarian fajitas (4/5). The meals came out in less than 8 minutes after ordering which caught us a bit off guard, but all the food was filling, fresh, and flavorful. While it wasn't gourmet food, it was well above average and right in line with what I look for when it comes to Mexican cuisine. The waiter said we can swap out fries for rice and beans for the quesadilla meal without any additional charge, but the fries (3/5) didn't really have much taste to them, despite being crunchy. Service (3.5/5) was friendly, but I was a bit irked being overcharged for the quesadillas. It turned out they added an extra $1.50 for chicken over the $16.50 listed menu price for the quesadillas rellenas, which are listed as including a choice of chicken or beef. When I pointed it out to the waiter, he insisted there's an upcharge for meat even though it's clearly $16.50 in the menu. There is a listing for the quesadilla ranchera in the menu which is broken down by price depending on what kind of meat is chosen, but that isn't the case with the quesadilla rellena based on the menu pictures fellow Yelpers have shared. While paying $18 for the quesadilla rellena with chicken isn't going to break the bank for me, the disingenuous pricing will make me hesitate before returning and probably won't have me recommending Plaza Azteca to others, which is a shame because it was an otherwise enjoyable meal. I just wish they were more transparent with accurate menu pricing rather than resorting to petty upcharges and not owning up to it when I pointed the menu price discrepancy to them.
