No complaints about this place. Came in and was able to order quickly. my friend tried a chicken dosa and I tried a pesarattu with mixed veggies - which I haven't tried before. They were kind enough to give me a side of raita without charging, since I like yogurt on everything. My pesarattu took a little while to come out so there was a delay between the two dishes, but the quality was quite good! It was tasty and nicely spiced and the sambar was pretty good as well. I felt like the chutneys were a little oilier than they needed to be, but that's a minor complaint. I would come back if I was in the area!

Stopped that this restaurant for a quick meal. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a cute restaurant! I was greeted and I ordered a few dishes. I ordered: Lamb dosa pulao channa masala canteen sandwich with chicken gulab jamun The food came out fairly quickly. Loved the canteen sandwich the most! The dosa was ok. The food was good all in all.

Madras Dosa is a casual dine-in and take out eatery in Princeton serving a variety of dosas (Indian fermented lentil crepes) as well as other South Indian lentil based delicacies such as uttapam and pesarattu. They have a long list of unique dosa fillings including paneer, onion, eggs, Indian flavored lays chips, crushed samosas, and even meat fillings such as lamb, chicken, and beef and sweet fillings such as Nutella and strawberry jam. The items are prepared by the efficient staff known as "dosa jockeys" in an open kitchen with limited seating available. The dosas are delicious with golden crispy edges and tender warm filling. The canteen sandwiches are particularly unique and delicious consisting of three slices of bread with one in the middle toasted with melted chili cheese, shallots, and cheddar. It takes 25 minutes to prepare. We washed it down with sweet lime soda, an Indian concoction that is hard to find outside of India consisting of lime soda, cumin powder, rock salt, lime slices, and mint leaves.

The Traditional Masala Dosa had that perfect, signature crunch, and the potato filling was subtle yet satisfying. The Chicken & Cheese Dosa--who would've thought? The minced chicken was packed with bold flavors, and the melted cheese complemented it beautifully. The Lamb Pulao was an ideal blend of spices, rich and aromatic. The Dahi Puri was an explosion of flavors! Crispy puris loaded with creamy dahi, chaat masala, pomegranate, sev, and chutneys--every bite was a delight. The Paneer Canteen Sandwich was buttery, crispy, and oh-so-satisfying. The Idli Fries and Nutella Dosa were such creative takes on traditional dishes--so fun and delicious, you'd never know they were classics! And finally, the Masala Chai--absolute PERFECTION! Service is quick and food is served hot. The place is very cute and located on a very busy street.

We had a delicious lamb dosa here. Clean interior and friendly service. Huge portions. Go there!

We would have been grateful enough for a warm restaurant and decent food, but I certainly didn't expect to find my favorite Indian food in New Jersey here (I know that's a big claim; it was just that good). Let's address the elephant in the room here: sometimes Indian food doesn't look camera-ready. For instance, my absolute favorite thing here was the chana palak, an extremely flavor-packed curry with chickpeas and spinach. What shows up (regretfully) as a greenish mud in pictures is actually an absolute flavor bomb in the mouth. Truly, I still have dreams about this dish. If looks matter to you, I also highly recommend the salmon tandoori special. It arrived on a sizzling platter (the kind that makes heads turn and eyes lock as it approaches the lucky table). There was more flavor to be had here, and I adore a dish that's hot enough to carry a blister risk while eating...especially in the middle of an icy snowstorm. Service was incredibly warm, welcoming, and efficient. Our server checked in with us the exact right number of times, and he repeatedly asked about whether we wanted to take leftovers home, the way a friend or kind auntie might after you've dined sumptuously at her table.

I am now writing this about to dig back in to what was a great meal. If you're in the Princeton area, Dvaraka should definitely be on your must-visit list.

The samosa was dry and flavorless. I paid for the pair, asked one to be wrapped up and it vanished never to return. Guess they'll reheat it and sell it the next chap. Frankly that's what it tasted like - reheated leftovers. But that was money out of my pocket. The chicken tikka was leathery and without my flavor. I asked that to be wrapped up and the next server refused. So he grabbed the warm skillet handle to push it towards me as if to ensure I understood my job. He didn't burn himself. I suggested he try again. So I dustily speared the dry chicken chunks and plopped them in the cheap styrofoam container he'd throw on the table then threw the stale cold rice on top. Voila. My thanksgiving dinner the next night. Topping off the experience was the shabby bathroom. I share pics. Hallmark for me of an eatery I won't rerun to is an unclean lavatory. Should have known. Mirrored the exterior entrance. Lack of care and maintenance. Also a couple came in while i was there, sat down but then ten minutes inexplicably left. The sole positives? Low key light jazz in the background and a homey atmosphere. But i could get that at home.
