Plantastik Dosa with chutney and sambar
    Sabine V.

I have eaten here several times, and the food is always delicious! They have an extensive menu featuring both North and South Indian favorites. Everything is vegetarian but packed with flavor. I tried the Plantastik Dosai, and it was just okay. I was excited by the menu description of "Plantastik 100% plant-based protein (moong bean)," but it mostly tasted like JUST egg. Every other dish I have tried, from the Podi Dosa to the Lychee Paneer, has been fabulous. The food arrives quickly, and the staff are helpful if you have questions about the menu. The restaurant can get crowded, especially on holidays, so it's best to arrive early to secure a seat.

We got seated fairly quickly but even for a tuesday evening, the place was crowded. The food comes out mad quick and this isn't a place for sitting around leisurely given the crowds but the food is great. The hot and sour soup was kinda spicy. Def get the filter coffee at the end. Ample parking.

Hands down the best South Indian food I've ever had! The dosa and wada were absolutely delicious, especially paired with their incredible sambar--flavorful, authentic, and comforting. A true gem for vegetarians, with a wide variety of both South and North Indian options to satisfy every craving. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, and the service was outstanding. A special shout-out to Jay, who was not only attentive and quick with recommendations but also brought a great sense of humor to the table. Our food arrived promptly, and everything was piping hot and fresh. My only wish? That they accepted reservations in advance. The place is always crowded--but then again, that's the price you pay when the food is this consistently excellent! Highly recommend A2B for anyone craving authentic Indian vegetarian fare. Can't wait to return!

Simple South Indian food done right! We came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The place was almost full but we managed to get a table, rest of the tables got full very soon. Ordered paneer 65, mini thali and mysoore masala dosage. Paneer 65 was ok, actually a bit dry. But that's it rest was done right. Mini thali was loaded with idli vada ghee Pongal and kichdi along with mid sized dosa. Pongal and kichdi were made in ghee and were done perfectly right. Idli was soft and vada was not drenching in oil. Sambar was perfect, not oily or too spicy. Mysoore masala dosa was done perfecf. Filter coffee was nice. We also ordered Royal falooda which was nice and loaded. The place is casual dining with relaxed ambiance. They sell snacks as well. The place is pure vegetarian. I do recommend it highly!

Update: we're now pretty regular visitors. They have massively improved the service and the food I tried south indian wedding thaali once and miss it. The BEST food Pongal thaali was average tho But still love to go back and eat fresh vegetarian food . Staff is exceptionally warm & welcoming

good standard indian food, but to be honest not extraordinary and better options in Edison. i tried quite a variety from the chaat, to dosas, to fried rice. everything was good, but not especially superb. service was good but we were warned that dosas would take a bit longer to make so one entree came out at a time for my table of 8. i thought the chaat was fresh and had a good variety and the different textures especially the crunch was perfect, it could've used more fresh veggies though. inside very clean and lots of seating, super spacious place

They have the best South Indian food in the area hands down. A2B is so good that it is always filled with people which isnt always the case with many veg restaurants. The decor and vibe is good. The service is fairly quick. It obvious that they want to turn the tables quickly so don't expect staff to spend much time chatting with you.

Good food , great filter coffee. Friendly staff. Service is quick food gets to the table quickly. Mostly busy at all times. Great place to get South Indian food. They have restrooms and parking on site. Have digital menu to order from. I was happy to see millet variety dishes on the menu. I am gluten free so I try to find something that works for me and this pleases me. Decent ambiance.

This is such a whole in the wall place - I finally got to try this place after so many people have told me they love this place. It's good! the spicy uthapam (not pictured) was a fan favorite. The dosa and the onion chutney was also really good - definitely get the baby corn chili fries as all

When driving along Rt. 1 South, we always pass A2B and always tell ourselves we should go and try this. Finally, we found a nondescript weekday to visit this place for dinner. First, the space is pretty damn spacious and clean. I was impressed. We were seated relatively quickly and were greeted promptly. We placed our orders and off we went. First, the service here is FAST. Like literally within a few minutes, we received our drinks (mango lassis), main course, appetizer, 2nd main course, and the 3rd. Literally within minutes. We were done eating within a half hour. I've never seen speed like this. Now to the food/drinks, here is what we ordered and our thoughts: 1) Mango lassi: it was solid. It came in a plastic to-go cup, which was.... interesting. It tasted pretty good though. My only gripe is the price.$6.50 for one mango lassi is wild. That's a bit too crazy for me. 2) Gobi 65: we gobbled this down pretty quick! Loved the taste and the spice level was tolerable, but not bland. Big fans 3) Chole Bathure: The chole was solid - in terms of spice level, but I wish I received a bigger serving of the chole. The bathure was fine, though it became a bit stiffer at the end. TBD if I'd repeat again. 4) Mini Tiffin: mom had this. It wasn't bad, though maybe not the best. 5) Onion rava masala dosa: technically, it's called an Onion Rava Dosai. My pops had it, but it's worth noting that this isn't the typical dosa you receive at a South Indian restaurant. It's made differently because it's made out of semolina and there are onions topped on the dosa. I believe it's a Hyderabadi style.... Was unique to say the least. I was originally leaning towards a 3, but I went with a 4 because we got a really really good waiter, Kiya. He said our experience worthwhile with his hospitality. Very special waiter. I think they have a ton of options that it almost becomes a bit overwhelming. Maybe too many choices. I noticed it's easier to read the menu via the website instead of via QR. I wonder if the Hyderabadi items taste better as the traditional South Indian items were not really different or better than what I get close to home.

I'm writing this review for both the South Plainfield and Princeton locations as they just mirror each other and there is no concern that I could even think of. I've been here enough number of times than any other restaurant I've been to, in NJ or even in the US and that makes me bonafide e to write this review. If you are in the state of Tamilnadu in India, you will know that this restaurant is the Mecca of South Indian vegetarian restaurants and people will swear by it, for its taste and quality. There are also other restaurants in NJ that are run as franchise of some famous south Indian restaurants, but the A2B is unlike others. These two do not disappoint a bit and stay true the brand's authenticity. The taste and quality are exceptional and the staff are kind and pleasant. The wait times to get in and to get the ordered food on table are sometimes excruciating on Fridays and weekends, but that's given when a restaurant is exceptionally good.

We would have been grateful enough for a warm restaurant and decent food, but I certainly didn't expect to find my favorite Indian food in New Jersey here (I know that's a big claim; it was just that good). Let's address the elephant in the room here: sometimes Indian food doesn't look camera-ready. For instance, my absolute favorite thing here was the chana palak, an extremely flavor-packed curry with chickpeas and spinach. What shows up (regretfully) as a greenish mud in pictures is actually an absolute flavor bomb in the mouth. Truly, I still have dreams about this dish. If looks matter to you, I also highly recommend the salmon tandoori special. It arrived on a sizzling platter (the kind that makes heads turn and eyes lock as it approaches the lucky table). There was more flavor to be had here, and I adore a dish that's hot enough to carry a blister risk while eating...especially in the middle of an icy snowstorm. Service was incredibly warm, welcoming, and efficient. Our server checked in with us the exact right number of times, and he repeatedly asked about whether we wanted to take leftovers home, the way a friend or kind auntie might after you've dined sumptuously at her table.

The sort of dish that makes you sit quietly for a moment and forgive the world for inventing email. I ordered the malai kofta. The sauce was lovely, silky and fragrant, but the kofta itself had the texture of damp gravel held together by optimism. Gritty and loosely packed. Every bite felt like it had been assembled during a minor labor dispute. Then came the revelation that neither entrée included rice, it was an add on. This struck me as somewhat unsettling. Serving Indian curries without rice feels like giving someone a violin without strings. Yes, technically the object exists, but now everybody is sad and confused. The naan also didn't rescue the evening. It emerged from it's foil cocoon gummy and tired, like it had already lived a long and difficult life before reaching our doorstep. The tragedy here is geographic. Lawrenceville and the surrounding area are overflowing with excellent Indian restaurants. Places where the spices sing hymns and the bread seems blessed by small and benevolent gods. Against that competition, this meal just sort of sat there under the kitchen light wondering what happened. Not terrible. Not memorable. Just one more delivery bag entering the great American night.
