Spencer's will forever bring out the giddy teenager in me. If you're looking for funny, raunchy, slightly unhinged merchandise, this is the place. From gag gifts to hilariously inappropriate items, it's perfect for that friend (or yourself ) who loves a good laugh and doesn't take life too seriously. Every time I walk in, I end up laughing at least once and leaving with something I absolutely did not plan on buying. It's nostalgic, chaotic, and unapologetically fun which is exactly what it's meant to be. Something naughty and nice... Not what I'd expected to see a bunch of ugly sweater though those aren't the ones you'd find in Macy's it's definitely ugly and festive lol! Walking into this Kamakana Ali'i store it was a bit dark but is very neat and organized with merchandise filled from floor to ceiling there is certainly a lot to see here. Current items are in front as it's Christmas the sweaters and accessories is prominently there and as I browsed around noticing and incredible selection of shirts and even some blinged out flask it's been awhile since I've been to Spencer's and when I went to the back of the shop remembered the more adult items they carry here and wouldn't recommend shopping with a minor for sure. Staff here is nice greeting everyone that comes through the doors though allow you space to browse around is nice and the sale makes it a great deal to shop for that unusual items not found generally in other shops lol! I went to this store yesterday at Ka Makana Ali'i and they had a buy 2 get 2 free deal for jewelry. As i got my four items, the cashier wasn't even paying attention and was too busy watching something on her phone. After finally 5 minutes of waiting, she rung me up only to say that one of the items were not part of the deal, when a whole stack of it were in the same area as the jewelry. Mind you, her coworkers also told her not to put those there so people wouldn't get confused, she didn't listen. When I got a new item, it took her another 8 minutes to scan the items and give me my money back. I hope she gets fired for this. Her cashier number is 3368434. I really feel they should put a sign at the entrance to warn families with children that this store has "adult" items for sale. As you walk in, there are very unique items for sale that are funny yet highly inappropriate. It's interesting to see the crazy ideas people have come up with to sell as merchandise. I do not recommend stepping into this store if you are easily offended or religious as you most likely will be triggered by the merchandise sold here. Although the merchandise located in the front of the store is more pg-13 imo, the further you walk in the items are more "adult store" or bachelor/bachelorette party themed. Only about 20% of the items in the store were geared toward teens, such as the anime hats and tshirts. So if you're looking to purchase items that could be highly offensive, dripping with sarcasm, or bedroom appropriate, this is the store for you. But if you are looking for an item for your child, you will be safer finding age appropriate items shopping their online website instead. read more

Ambitious Magical Unicorn Horn Toys---MRC=1% Its been about 16 years since Ive stepped into one of these stores and last I remember they were a decent place to shop for cool clothes, gadgets, decorations, and toys. I came with my nephew to look at some of the t shirts. The workers didn't acknowledge us, instead they seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves about some "party." As we walked further towards the back of the store it got darker and the items and clothing seemed to become more "ambitious." My nephew asked me what something was and before he could reach out and touch it, I grabbed his arm and proceeded to scoot him out of the store. I then told him that those were just "Magical Unicorn Horn Toys for the Ambitious" As we headed out I saw more in front of the counter where you pay lol. So did I miss something 16 years ago? When did Spencer blossom into an ambitious young store? Regardless, chalk another one up for check and shop online instead. read more

I love Spencer's but sad to say I prefer the one at Pearlridge a lot more. They have all the usual Spencer's products, sales on t-shirts, funny glassware, shot glasses, party items,etc. but customer service at this location is majorly lacking. On our past trip here, we weren't greeted or anything and customers like us could clearly hear the employees at the counter talking about inappropriate personal TMI matters. I've worked in customer service for a long time so a major pet peeve of mine is when I, the customer, have to greet the cashier/employee FIRST to get their attention especially when they see us in line patiently waiting to pay for our items and they are just talking story. If they're busy, I can understand but still, people with great customer service skills usually acknowledge you that you're there and say they will be right with you etc. This never happens at this particular Spencer's. Not in the times I've visited anyway. Try to avoid this Spencer's and don't leave anything out in your vehicle when visiting Ka Makana Ali'i in general because there's been a lot of vehicle break ins lately. read more

Like forever because usually the workers are punks with attitudes but if u guys like great customer service check out pua at this location.. she was so helpful and like genuinely cheerful.. Small kine attitude from an employee while I was browsing. I dropped my mask down to have some of my boba drink and started to chew the boba, right after I went to put my mask back on, in that process this chick behind the counter was very rude telling me "hey sista you need to keep your mask on--" with "while eating" or something along those lines. Even though I was already in the process of doing that. I apologized but after I realized I shouldn't of because her tone and wording was absolutely rude AF. It's been awhile since I've been in Spencer's and wow, it's changed a lot. The staff at this location were so welcoming and kind. One associate in particular who goes by the name, Ray, did well in helping me acclimate to the new layout of the store. He was very cordial and answered all of my questions. The associate behind the register was also very lovely. She was soft spoken and sweet. I did not catch her name, unfortunately. All in all, store's great, staff's great, vibe's great. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Wanted to buy an item that was marked clearance. The register total was more than what the item was marked as. The manager said she wasn't going to honor the clearance price because "it must have been marked by mistake". It was the only item in stock and had a clearance tag. Regardless of a mistake, the sticker price should have been honored. read more

I never do come into this location, because I don't even come into thIs store, unless theres something that I NEED from here and I know I can't get it anywhere else. Anyways, I made a purchase for a shirt for Halloween at a different location, but since they have no dressing rooms, I had to wait till I got home to try on the s5hirt. Got home and the shirt was way too big. Like I said, I don't ever go into the store, so I waited till I went to go visit my in laws in Ewa, to make my return at this location at Ka Makana Alii. Walked into the store and it was empty, except for this one girl who was looking through the shelves. I go to stand in front of the register and wait for an employee, but there wasn't one to be found anywhere. I stand there...waiting, and the girl looking through the shelf glances my way and we exchange a smile to one another, and I continue to wait. Five to ten minutes pass, I hear people in the back stock room talking...pretty loud. I look over there way & the girl that was looking through the shelves goes and walks behind the register & that's when I realized she was an employee. She didn't acknowledge me, but then soon after, she disappeared and was nowhere to be found. A couple more minutes pass and then I found her and asked if I do a return...she claims that she didn't realize that I was ready to be assisted. Uhhh ok sis, so I guess I was just standing here for my health, then. *eye roll* She looks at my receipt and tells me that she doesn't know how to do returns so she had to go in the back and call her manager (who I assumed it was). She looked at my receipt and asked me if I purchased anything else other than the shirt and I told her no, and she didn't know how to process the return as well. Finally, five minutes after staring at the receipt, she did the return. I have no idea why I had to wait almost 20mins just to do a return, when I was the only one in the store. Spencer's -Day after April Fools. Adult, Department Stores No- not to the Department Stores description. They do have a wide variety of T-Shirts that a silver spoon teenager would want to show off at school or the next big concert their knowledge of bands that have lasted over 30 years in popularity. But it is pretty much limited to T-Shirts of the Band/ Comic Book/ Bad Taste Rude Humor variety. A few sun glasses, hats and belts thrown in here and there. Yes- one could use those as the descriptions but I don't think they really fit. Adult - yes. Just know not to let your 9 year old boy wander into the back section of the store alone where they have the adult gifts + toys on the shelves. They have an adult section of womens lingerie. The highlight and probably the best reason to go to Spencer's is to look for COOL T-Shirts! Need a T for the new batman opening film night- go to Spencer's! Need a T for the new comicon but don't want to make a full on stormtrooper outfit that you can't see out of- go to Spencer's and get the coolest new Harley Quinn T that will impress most geeks. Need to go to a concert but don't want to wear something that you haven't washed in a week- go to Spencer's and get a Nirvana/ KISS/ Cash giving the finger/ Ozzy giving the finger/ Green Day/ Pink Floyd or one of the other tons of choices of Music Ts that they have- not vintage but still classic. Store workers were friendly and helpful. It is different. Just know it is different. One of the not so great sketch comedy shows did a Spencer's gag that the people in the sketch had to come up with a new product for the President of the company or get shot. So a poop clock won. Yes- that is how I used to think of Spencer's and largely still do since they have poop this and poop that. All in good fun. Yes- I was in there looking to see magic tricks or things that can be used for magic tricks too as I browsed. They still have poop in all Spencer's if you were wondering. I usually don't bother looking up retail stores on yelp because I honestly don't expect much. As long as I can get what I need and be in and out without any issues then that's all that matters to me. Unfortunately, that was not the case at this location. I went in today and purchased my items with cash and was given significantly less change than I should have received. Unfortunately, I didn't double check prior to leaving the store as I normally do because I was in a rush. I take full responsibility for this. However, when I noticed that I was short (less than 10 min later), my fiancé went back to inform them because we were almost back to our car on the other side of the mall and I can't walk very fast due to health issues. The money itself wasn't as much of an issue as the amount of unprofessionalism that we experienced. The employees didn't seem to take the situation seriously nor were they apologetic. They were laughing and seemed to be struggling counting the drawer and mixing up money. I remained extremely calm and didn't mind waiting too much but they ended up claiming that their drawer wasn't short for the amount that I was missing and gave me less than the difference, so obviously their calculations were wrong or their drawer wasn't at par to begin with. Instead of making a scene I just took what they "calculated" and left. I did feel like they didn't take my fiancé and I very seriously because of our age and the fact that we do look quite young but I was extremely displeased with our experience here today. Again, the money was not the issue as much as the unprofessionalism was, as I do take partial responsibility for the issue, but I'm sure this has probably happened to other people and they've gotten away with it. I just hope that nothing like this happens again, especially to someone who truly needs the money. Just sucks having this happen during the holiday season. I will not be coming to this location again due to the lack of empathy from the employees who don't seem to care very much about the success of their store judging from the other reviews of this location. I hope their management figures out a way to fix the multitude of issues that this location has. After this experience, I don't think I'll be back to Spencer's or the Ka Makana Ali'i mall for a while, if ever, despite it being the closest mall to where I currently live. read more

WORST STORE EVER. SALE SUPERVISOR SHOULD GET FIRED. Me and my friend went in to look around and had no intentions of stealing but she assumed that we were so she followed us around the whole store and basically watched us the entire time. She still accused us of stealing and said straight to our faces "I'm gonna check the cameras later." Would not recommend to come here unless you're okay with someone invading your privacy. read more
