This is james oreall. He refused me service due to my skin. As I walked inside he spit on the ground towards me (he was at the door). I went inside immediately to the counter for a single thing behind , I was told to leave then he proceeded to call the police. As I patiently waited for the arrival he made remarks of my hair and fair skin, calling me names such as stupid. Ive never been a position like this, it was awful. Just be cautious if James is behind the counter, all of this was unnecessary. read more

Despite being downtown often, I had never stopped in for gas at this place. I like that you can access this spot from both West Street and Kentucky Avenue. There are lots of bays that are stacked 2-deep and the roof that covers the filling bays reaches all the way to the convenience store so you don't have to get rained on when you need to run inside. The equipment seemed to work very well. I had no issues at my pump and was able to get a receipt. The other bays seemed to be nearly full too, so I guess that means they were working as well. Out front, they carry ricks of fire wood, windshield washer, and I think I recall seeing ice (no propane tanks though.) Since I don't buy things at gas station, I can't comment on customer service. The only negative I have is that the space is packed, so there isn't a lot of room to turn around your vehicle when the place is busy, especially if you have one of the outer bays. Needed a quick place to fuel up after hanging out downtown in Indianapolis for a bit. This place is located in a great area off the highway and near the stadium that doesn't charge ridiculous prices! Plenty of cops hang out here but it's definitely full of great munchies worth checking out. read more

This is my go to downtown gas station. Prices are mediocre, the facility is clean, and most importantly they offer diesel. Having a diesel car can make it hard to find locations in downtown areas. With it being located right next to Lucas oil Stadium sometimes I can be a bit hectic and busy. However there are four pumps the offer diesel in addition to at least 8 to 10 the offer gas. I appreciate that it is well lit so I can feel safe all hours of the day. read more

The air conditioning was nice. The selection was all right. They except food stamps and all sorts of other payments ,the prices what it is with today's world. The only problem I had was as the very nice and accommodating cashier was taking on a line all the way to the door with a smile on her face doing the job five people... The asshole manager decided to come out and tell her what she forgot to do and belittle her in front of her customers, if you have a correction for your staff do it somewhere else, the training can proper be received. Don't be a fucking prick. read more

I've been here a few times whenever I'm in the Indianapolis area. Definitely a great place to grab a bite on the cheap. Whenever I spend time in Indianapolis for a conference, I often spend most of it outdoors beneath the stars(see my profile nickname, https://www.yelp.com/user_details?userid=vfg4NlGq1Ibc-kyl68Wv2w). Like 90% of the food I eat in Indianapolis is gas station food- helps me to survive while I'm there because fancy restaurants are just too expensive. All I can say is they're a lifesaver for when I have to hobo it in Indy. Every time I'm in there, the staff is awesome. Definitely go grab gas if you're in the area & a bite to eat. Hands-down the most disgusting Speedway I've ever been to and Speedway is my favorite gas station. I went way out of my way to get gas at a Speedway and use the restroom. The restrooms were unisex and there was urine on the floor and the toilet seat. I also wanted an unsweetened tea and it tasted like dishwater. The staff wasn't very friendly either. I just paid for my gas and left. read more

These people caught me on a terrible day for someone to have an attitude. My car ran out of gas, because I lost my debit card and just blah blah blah. So I had to leave it in this parking garage at work for a while and finally when I got money from the bank on a cold day this week, I walked down there from my apartment and bank downtown to get a gas can. I asked one woman if there were any gas cans left I can buy and she gave me a tone in her voice and I was not having it. So, I went to the cashier to get a pack of cigarettes and she was nice, but I'm pretty sure the pack that I bought was overpriced, because they aren't that great. Anyway, it was just a poor experience especially after the morning and afternoon I had galavanting around all the downtown neighborhoods just to get this gas ordeal figured out. read more

I like this gas station because it's clean and right near the highway. Things to know: 1. Since it is right by the highway it gets crowded around the typical times - Holidays and rush hour. 2. You can go to this location and then head back downtown relatively quickly. When you go to exit go to the main entrance ( it's the one nearest the large pricing sign and directly across from the downtown grill and spirits) take a slight right onto S. West street and then a sharp left onto Empire Street (it's right next to city center parking - it is a little alleyway). Then you will go down the alley (headed toward Lucas Oil Stadium and passing between the hotels) and turn left onto Missouri Street and you're headed back toward downtown. read more

Why are gas stations in downtown areas so few and far between? I know cars are not as ubiquitous downtown as they are in the suburbs, but where do downtowners go to get Slim Jims, the Sunday newspaper, tuna salad sandwiches in those sealed plastic containers, or lottery tickets? This Speedway is about as good as it gets on the south side of downtown. read more

Speedway fails to monitor gasoline QUALITY. Speedway's monitoring equipment is, in my opinion, PRIMITIVE and inadequate. If you get bad gas from Speedway and file a claim, chances are good (based on my experience) that it will be denied. http://www.badgas.org read more

Only place I have ever been to that you have to ask for a bag and then they guy behind the counter will hand you a bag and you have to bag your own items! He will seriously just look at you like you're dumb! Literally just walked up to the counter with 7 items and he didn't even offer the bag. Sad customer service....went back to this place today and even more disappointed. read more

There's is one worker in particular at this Speedway who is just plain rude....... I've only been here twice and each experience has been very horrible with just this one worker. The first time I'm going to get a slice of pizza and she pulls the whole thing out of the rack right in front me... which was fine because a fresh one was coming out... I waited nearly 30 minutes for her to take her precious time slicing the pizza while she continued to talk with the cashier... one stroke at a time...... I let that slide at the time. This time I come back a few months later hoping there is pizza available and there weren't. No biggie so I go to the next warmer to try one of those stuffed pocket thingies. She literally barges her way in front my sight as I am arms length from the door and just stands there. Then she slowly starts taking everything out. Doesn't say anything, achknowledge or anything of the sort. After grabbing maybe 10 items she finally start to check the ingredients on the back of the last 3 items... slooooooooowly. I don't know what her problem is but she needs an attitude adjustment and to quit acting like I am not here trying to shop. Don't get me wrong I like things fresh and can wait for fresh.... but I don't like a funky attitude that goes with it. read more
