Forget the dried out hot dogs, endlessly turning on a roller grill, that other convenience stores offer. Ricker's has fresh, made-to-order burritos, nachos, tacos and other Mexican favorites that are made with quality ingredients and served fast. I travel all over the area for work and frequently need to seek out one-stop-shopping for lunch, drink, and gas and Ricker's is my choice. Along with the tasty food options Ricker's offer perks like free ATMs and a Rewards card with great benefits. I understand that some people wouldn't be excited about a super convenience store but if you are a road warrior like me you will appreciate Ricker's.

Mind you, I'm still getting used to the concept of a "cafe" inside a gas station. I like my gas stations worn in and friendly, not $4.50 breakfast burrito uptown flavor. I jest; Ricker's is clean, has good food options, the doughnuts look delicious, and the staff is very friendly. Four stars all day long for that. I'm assigning three stars because there's not enough value for the money here. But I'm cheap and willing to eat off the roller grill (delicious!) and earn points elsewhere.

People all around me were having issues even at ones that were not labeled that they were out of service. The one I went to does not let you get any fuel. There is no warning about the fact that the majority of their pumps, if not, all are not working. Extremely poorly run. A waste of time to go and get gas just to have to go find somewhere else because the gas station isn't working. There should at least be some kind of warning instead of just having people figure it out themselves.

They offer a great discount on gas if you become a member. And to be honest their gas is usually cheap than other area gas stations. If you are looking for an ATM that charges zero fees look no further. Every Get Go location offers a free ATM no matter which financial institution you are a member of. This may sound a bit off key here, but if you love Tater Tots this is a place you MUST stop at to try their Tater Tots. I know, I know. I sound like a crazy person, especially for a trained chef, but their Tater Tots are really that banging!!! My culinary training tells me it's because they must change their fryer oil often. Each location I have ordered their Tater Tots they have been great! If you stop by and try their Tots please let me know what you think. :)

Meier has their gas stations located near their grocery stores which makes it very convenient when…read moreyou shop and stop. They have their grocery store rewards program linked with the gas stations which makes it great if you shop there a lot you can sometimes save quite a bit per gallon when you get gas. The gas stations have air pumps outside and they have a lot of snacks, drinks, and automotive supplies inside the gas station. The items in the gas station are good if you are stopping by to get gas, but if you are going in the grocery store first, you are better off getting the things you need in the grocery store because the prices will be cheaper. At the gas station, the prices are good for convenience, but not if you compare them to the store prices.

I like the free gloves at the pumps. As part of this Meijer grand opening celebration and if you have a free Meijer mperk account, you can get 10 cents off per gal of gas for multiple times up thru 9/11/2021 at this location only.  Do not need to clip a coupon.  You may think 10 cents is not much per gallon saving, but when you see that other gas stations outside of this area is much higher by about a quarter/gal, your savings can add up if you are in the neighborhood. For July 4, I got 85 octane unleaded gas for $2.779/gal after my dime off each gal.

Ricker's - Bean, cheese and rice burrito from Rickers. Who knew?

Who the heck would have thought that I'd find a good burrito at a gas station in Indiana? Certainly…read morenot me. But another good place to get burritos is at an ice cream shop on 86th Street, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm starting to think that Indiana hides all the good burritos in unassuming places. Maybe I should start looking for burritos the next time I'm at the shoe store or the dentist. In any case, Ricker's has good burritos. One of the best parts about ordering a burrito at Ricker's is that you don't have to talk to anyone to order. There is an electronic screen that you use to punch in your order. Then you pick it up at the counter. You can customize your burrito to your liking. If you want a good burrito, I suggest ordering the following: refried beans, Mexican rice, cheese. That's it. If you want some meat in there, add carnitas. Don't go and ruin a perfectly fine burrito by adding sour cream and lettuce. If you're going to do that you might as well just order something else. This is how strongly I feel about this particular combination of burrito ingredients. Another reason to like Ricker's is because they sell cold beer. This means you could get your burrito to go, grab a six pack of cold Coronas, and have a nice little Mexican feast at home.

So, don't go out of your way to depend on getting gas here, regardless of the cost.
