Too many times at other stations I see the dreaded, "See Cashier for Receipt" and then I have to go inside and wait in line to obtain my receipt. The convenience store has many good snack and drink options too.

Wow, Just wow! This was my first visit to a Wally's or any other mega gas station. I was a bit…read moreflabbergasted, for sure. There are 84 pumps for gas and diesel. The pumps are covered with spacious aisles. Big trucks and cars use the same pumps. I was uncomfortable maneuvering between the dump trucks that were filling their tanks. The gas prices were about 10 cents higher than the average prices in Indianapolis, but the station is seconds off Interstate US65. A bank of EV charging stations is under construction and will be on-line shortly. In general, there is still a lot of construction in progress around the facility. Inside, the store is huge and spacious. Merchandise is smothered with the Wally logo. Stations were set up with hot sandwiches, pastries, popcorn, jerky, chicken, coffee, slushies and more. Friendly clerks greeted us and volunteered to assist. I grabbed a bag of fresh chips and a Bbq Brisket Sandwich. The chips are incredible, crispy, fresh, sinful and no too salty. The Bbq Brisket was filled with chopped brisket. The sandwich was just ok, but I liked the spicy bbq sauce. Prices are reasonable. Utensils and condiments are provided. There is no place to sit and eat, we took our food home. My husband loved his Cinnamon Roll smothered in caramel and nuts. The $4 beast was huge and fresh. He gave it a solid 5 stars commenting on the strong cinnamon flavor. The store is filled with kitchenware, gifts, toys, Wally themed tees and personal care products. I saw everything that a traveling family might need and more. The toy section rivaled any local toy store. In fact, a group of kids were waiting in line for NeeDoh toys that were about to be shelved. The candy aisle is filled with old fashioned candies with Wally labels. I spent 15 minutes reading funny greeting cards. The beer case was filled with name brand beers, but I did not see local craft beers. When I travel, I like to pick up local craft beers as gifts. The wine selection included inexpensive options. The restrooms were huge and pristine, probably the nicest that I've seen traveling. So, if you're traveling and want lunch, gas and bathroom break, Wally's is a perfect option. You're probably not going to make it a quick stop because there is so much to see.

They've got the wall of jerky. They've got the restrooms set up in the same area of the store. (Wally's also claims to have the cleanest restrooms.) They've got the people at the entrances greeting you with a semi-enthusiastic "Welcome to Wally's!" They've got the brisket sandwiches. I could list a lot more similarities, but you get the gist. If you've been to Buc-ee's, it will be hard to not compare the two convenience stores. But if you haven't been to Buc-ee's? Then baby, you're in for a treat! Wally's is really cool, actually. I tried to stay neutral during my Wally's visit, and absorb it as though I had never stepped into a Buc-ee's. Because Wally's deserves a shot to shine on its own accord. This place has an amazing array of food. The middle of the store is basically a food court, with grab-and-go hot-food options like pizza slices, burritos, soft tacos, brisket sandwiches, cheeseburgers, chicken tenders and lots more. Then there are the refrigerated items, like tuna sandwiches, salads, wraps, and even a thing called an egg BLT, which is basically a hard-boiled egg cut in half with bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiched between it. I think I'm going to have to make these at home! Thanks for the inspo, Wally's. I've been told that the things to get here are the chopped brisket sandwich and the house-made kettle chips. I eschewed that advice and went with my heart instead, and got the El Fuego Burrito, which has shredded beef, white cheese sauce, black beans, corn and green chiles in it. It was alright! Maybe I eat too slowly, but by the time I was halfway done, the burrito was lukewarm. Also, the burrito was not as "fuego" as I thought it would be -- it's very mild, with almost no spiciness to it. So, not bad, but I think I might get something else next time. My kids got pizza slices: one pepperoni and one cheese. The kid who got the cheese pizza said that it didn't come with sauce! Just cheese and crust. I don't know if that was a mistake or if that's the way the cheese pizza is. We also got the smash burger (it was more like a regular burger) and the cheese tots, which were fried discs of cheese, basically. The food was fine, if you're evaluating it in terms of restaurant quality. But it was above average for a gas station. We visited and got a bunch of food with the intention of eating it there, but keep in mind: Wally's has no tables anywhere, indoors or outdoors! They want you to get your crap and GTFO, so there are no tables or chairs to be seen anywhere on the premises. Also, this is not a semi-truck-friendly place. No semis allowed! Just regular vehicles. But they have dozens and dozens of gas pumps, in case you need to fuel your regular vehicle.

The multiple bays are single load, not double, so you don't have to dodge and swerve pulling around other cars. I also liked that the space between the pumps and the convenience store/clerk is covered in case of rain. They also have items stacked outside that are sometimes useful like rock salt, windshield wash, and ice. I appreciated that the pumps were easy to use and maintained so that I was able to pull up, fill up, and be on my way without having to run inside to complain like at the other station. Review #3642

I wanted to see if all the hype is real. The gas station/convenience store is large and pristine. Gas was priced the lowest that I've seen in a long time at $2.52 a gallon. The gas pumps have a lot going on, covered with ads and daily specials. Air pumps for inflating tires are modern and free! Inside, the store is spacious and clean. I was welcomed when I entered. The staff were friendly and helpful. A $6 special offering any sandwich, assorted chips and small soft drink caught my eye. I ordered at a kiosk, which took me a few minutes to master. I ordered the Crispy Bacon Ranch Chicken. The sandwiches are made to order with toppings of your choice. I paid for my order and picked out some of the Herr Old Bay chips and poured a coke. The soda machine does require advanced tech skills. I couldn't figure out the ice, but it was ok. The sandwich came out fairly quickly, giving me time to look around. They carry premade breakfast sandwiches, locally prepared donuts, fruit, bottled drinks, snacks and everything you'd expect at a convenience store. My sandwich was hot. For fast food and the inexpensive price, the sandwich was a great deal. The clerk told me that the specials change regularly. Last week, they had a breakfast special. They have restrooms and plenty of accessible parking. I was disappointed that there were no tables to eat. (I hate to eat in my car.) They serve items such as burgers, pizzas, pretzels, salads, subs, phillys, wraps and tacos. They also serve breakfast sandwiches. All the drinks that a usual gas station has are at your disposal to choose from. The pizza looked like it was self serve, as I saw a customer get her own slices and take it to the front register. I ordered one of their famous gyros. The meat is pre cut, pulled out of the fridge and nuked for a few minutes. The pita is swallowed up by the meat. There is so much meat. It could make 2 or 3 gyros out of it. I had to eat the meat down to get to the pita. The gyro was warm, but you could tell that it was not fresh and was reheated. It was flavorful though and really filled me up. I had it for lunch and ended up skipping dinner. I also had some of their potato salad, which they got out of a big container in their refrigerator. It was ok, nothing special though. To top my meal off, I got one of the large chocolate chip peanut butter cookies that were starring me in the face when I was ordering. It looked a whole lot better than it tasted. I definitely would not get one of those again. Even though there was a small dining area available. It did not seem very cozy and still felt like you were eating in. a gas station, so, I decided to take my food to go. The staff there were friendly enough and very welcoming. The store/gas station/pizza place has been opened about a year now. The staff is very friendly and they keep the store and grounds immaculate. They sell BP gas. They have 7 sets of pumps and they also sell air for your tires. Inside the store they sell all the usual things a convenience store sells...coffee, sodas, snacks, etc. I have been known to pick-up lottery tickets at the counter. In the summer, I have walked over with my granddaughters to get them prepackaged ice cream. There is a small counter to eat at. They also have a counter that makes and sells Noble Roman pizza. They carry a dozen or so grab and go pizzas or you can have one prepared in 10 minutes. The pizza is ok for gas station food. I think kids might like the pizza better than I did. The biggest downside is that they do not carry alcohol of any kind. So if your trapped in a snow storm, too bad. The restrooms are clean and accessible.
