My review is for Spectrum internet service and their company as a whole, not this specific location. Although, I did go into this location to pick-up equipment at the end of 2021 and found the experience to be efficient, but cluttered with super high sales pressure and tactics, making for a very uncomfortable experience. S E R V I C E Overall, the service has been steady at 300 mbps for a 2 bed/2 bath condo with just 1 person working from home, 2 smart TVs, and occasional PS5, but not computer gaming. There have been a handful of instances where service cuts out and we have to re-start the router. P R I C I N G Absolutely TERRIBLE. After receiving a guaranteed "promotional price" of $55/month for my home internet, guaranteed for 12 months from Oct 2022, here we are in Feb 2023 just 4 months later and my internet has now gone up to $60/month going forward. It's just $5/month (or $30/year), but my biggest problem is that there was no email, phone call, or letter in the mail, just fine print on your last digital statement in tiny, less than 8 pt font. Spectrum is also notorious for never-ending price hikes year after year, so I know this will not be my last time with out of the blue increases if I continue with them. It seems like the longer you are a customers, the more they will charge you and the less they value you. Only the new customers get a good deal to reel them in, just to send them along a journey of price increases. C U S T O M E R S E R V I C E I called Spectrum just for them to tell me that they notified me in fine print about this a few weeks ago and that my promotional pricing and their word just 4 months ago didn't matter. They don't care about retaining customers, just about their precious dollars. I can tell you that I do not feel valued as a Spectrum customer and I will be changing my home internet to Costco. I would highly advise against using Spectrum for ANY services as this is a common theme with them - good speeds but never-ending price hikes. A L T E R N A T I V E S Verizon internet service some cities, however Garden Grove seemed to be at maximum capacity for internet users when I was looking for service at the end of 2021. Costco has AT&T 300 mbps internet for only $55/month (forever, not just a "promo period" of 12 months) and they give you a $300 shop card just for signing up. I visited the store on Beach Boulevard 3 times in the last month. Maggie helped me every time and she is great - so patient and kind. She explained that I was eligible for the one year of free cell service and helped me set it up on a trial basis. Today I went in and she patiently walked me through getting the information I needed (even though she had told me last visit and I had not followed her instructions) to move my number from AT&T to Spectrum. So, this store itself wasn't bad. I finally got the help I should have had from day one two years ago. If you're dealing with dolts over the phone, drive down to the store. After 2 years I'm free, I switched to T-Mobile home Internet. Much cheaper and 3X faster when compared to a working Spectrum Internet. When Spectrum is down (averaged 1X a day), T-Mobile is infinitely faster, literally. Here's my experience with Spectrum. Signing up, a complete cluster f. on their part. Installation, I think the installer is working for the Biden administration now. After that, 2 years of constant Internet loss at random times. Sometimes it would come back after a few minutes, sometimes I needed to reset their equipment. Then the price took a big jump when the promo ended and about the same time the connectivity got WORSE. Ending service. OMG. The operator kept sticking to the script and I kept saying I'm done. She was next to useless and finally started telling me she's not stupid. But she proved herself wrong when the store told me she hadn't done anything. The cable TV fortunately always worked, but that's not portable. At this point the cord is almost completely cut. This review is specifically regarding our visit to this specific store & the customer service we had with Cuong. We came in to switch our mobile phones from T-Mobile to Spectrum to take advantage of their "get one line for $29.99 get the 2nd free for 1 year." It was a better option for our finances & returning to the Verizon towers was imperative for me. Cuong helped & and initially told me my phone wasn''t compatible with their system (Galaxy s20 FE) but my husband's was (he has an iPhone). With a trade-in, we got a great deal on my phone (upgraded to a s22). Then, although our T-Mobile phones were unlocked, T-Mobile took our phone numbers "captive" and wouldn't release them so we could port our lines to Spectrum. Cuong was so patient and helped us call T-Mobile and coached us on what to say so that T-Mobile could release the numbers. Once that was done, the rest of the process was smooth sailing. Cuong even helped us lower our home internet bill while we were waiting for T-Mobile to get their act together. Regardless of what you say about any carrier itself, the customer service in this Spectrum brick & mortar was fantastic. read more

Worst location. Twenty one customers in line. Six reps. Only 2 working at the same time. Laughing, joking with each other. One is playing a video game on his phone. No real manager that's for sure! Been there on a bad day and good day. Bad day was during the daytime where I didn't make an appointment, a lot of people were waiting, and the staff was switching between lunch breaks. At one point there was only one person working, but after 15mins another person started to work and she went fast through each customer, providing a good service. Lesson learned was to either make an appointment or don't come during the rush hour. The good day is when my modem broke and it was 7PM, they were still open and they had 3 employees with no customers, waiting for the store to close. What was promised to be a 30 minute wait turned into a two-hour wait. The staff/employees here have no sense of urgency whatsoever and are extremely incompetence. When I arrived, I was told it would be a 30 minute wait. There were two customers who each took an hour long just to be helped. There were other customers in front of me who just needed to 1) pay the bill, or 2) pick up their modem -- I'm part of the latter and this process only takes 5 minutes. If the employees here cared about customer service, they would help the 20 customers waiting in line for a 5 minute pick up... Not only that, there was a staff who just stood there staring at customers. How are they being paid for doing nothing? Another employee left for twenty minutes after she finished helping ONE customer. Turns out, she left to the back just to sit down for 20 minutes. Lastly, I received a router box when I clearly indicated not needing one. I do not want to be charged an extra fee every month for something I already have, and my router is even better! Now I have to spend another 2 hours just to return a router THEY provided me by mistake AND I have to pay the extra fee. (This review is not location specific as I called Spectrum's 833 customer support phone number and spoke with Anthony (#61883). My situation: My bill is due today, but am moving very soon. I had called to inquire if I could pay only a prorated portion instead of paying a full month since I will no longer be living here to use their services. After calling and being transferred a few times, I finally had the pleasure of speaking with Anthony. He was very patient and kind and helped me with answering all my questions. He told me that currently, prorating is only an option in 3 states, California not being one of them. Luckily, my pay period cut off is only a couple days prior to my move out date so instead of having to pay for a full month, I will just have to go without internet for the final 2 days of living here. Anthony stated I will have to call back on the day of termination as that is Spectrum's policy (to cancel on the day you wish to terminate). Anthony was very calm and attentive and because of his demeanor, took the weight off my shoulders. Moving is stressful enough and I dreaded calling because of the "it's easy to sign up, but impossible to cancel " stigma. Anthony proved that to be false. He actually cares about his customers needs...Something far too rare these days (especially when canceling a service!!!) Thank you for being you! You can return your equipment around the corner at the UPS store. You don't have to wait in line, but I spent about 2 hours on hold when I tried to downgrade my service so it might be easier to wait in line at the store rather talk to the "retention" department on the phone. --- Downgraded to 200mb internet and dropped TV+Phone. I replaced the TV service with Sling for only 35$/month. Will be saving over 1,300$/year. Not missing any of my shows. Just go streaming, you don't have to deal with the TV Box drama. If you have purchased a TV in the last 5 years or have grandchildren who can hook up a streaming device just return your TV boxes to the UPS store and forget about the in store experience.
