I I've always had amazing service at the Spectrum store. The guys who work there are knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly helpful, especially considering how packed the store always is. They have an impressive amount of patience, even when dealing with issues that could easily be resolved with a quick YouTube tutorial. They deserve a lot of credit for keeping their cool and providing such great customer service! read more

Not only is the service slow at this store. You have to check and wait to drop off return equipment. This sucks just as much as using their AI Chat to solve a problem... Horrible! How could they improve? Have an expedited counter for drop off equipment. If you had a designated counter person for this, it would take 5 minutes per person or less. On top of this there's a woman standing at the counter doing absolutely nothing and then takes a personnel call and keep telling people to check in on the front tablet and wait. She keeps telling everyone 30-40 minutes to wait when there is only two people on the wait screen. No concept of how long it really takes. I think I will look into dropping Spectrum all together. Just a very inefficient company that creates frustration at every turn. They just sent us new receiver boxes and tells us we have two weeks before the old boxes are disconnected. We will lose all shows on our DVR because Spectrum is forcing this change. No options for the customer to keep it. Ridiculous. If you are considering Spectrum for the first time, do your homework and find a provider that has better commitment to the customer, because this company doesn't. Cheers! read more

Spectrum - Spectrum office on Madonna Rd - Internet Service Providers Near Me - San Luis Obispo, California

As soon as I walked in, I was instructed by a lady to sign in on the iPad. I did so. I came in to return a device. I noticed 2 others waiting to turn in a device. I finally got up and asked how long the wait is to turn in a device, she said looking at about 30 minutes or so. She advised me to turn it in at UPS. I asked if I needed a box or to provide any information and she said "no they will box it up and take it" so it will be faster to drop it off at ups than an actual spectrum store? How does that make sense? She wasn't helping anyone. Just browsing on her laptop during the entire time. Maybe come up with a process to take the devices from people of have people drop off in a box and state on the iPad that they actually turned it in? Or scan in the device? Something other than this hassle. It is useless to have a process that doesn't even work. You guys are lucky you have fast internet or you wouldn't have any customers. read more

The people don't know what they are doing. We have wasted so much time trying to get services up and running and you just get passed around. The agents are worthless. read more

There were 8 customers in the store when it opened at 10am. The other sales person disappeared to the back and never reappeared by the time we left. Also, I do Not like the constant upselling. The "it's free for 90 days and then $30 per month" for unnecessary items. read more

Spectrum - Spectrum with only one person to serve customers - Internet Service Providers Near Me - San Luis Obispo, California

Terrible terrible customer service. The guy working on August 5 was so rude. I can't even believe someone with his attitude would be employed. Will never do business here after my experience. read more

So I relish completing this second review. No I haven't worked with spectrum in the recent past, but I have gotten Internet service from another company which I will not mention. I was paying $180 with spectrum a few years ago to get what I'm now getting for $60. That is a 300% decrease in how much Internet and online service costs right now. I'm not sure exactly how spectrum is continuing to stay in business because their business model was one of constantly jacking up their prices. I am currently paying $60 and that price hasn't gone up for four years not even a dollar. I remember standing in front of the cashier at spectrum telling her that I wanted to discontinue my service and before I did that, I asked you if there was anyway they could reduce the cost of what I was being charged. She laughed.. What kind of week of this time I had better service better download speed and my costs and decreased by 300% wow. I know I would like to curse, but it's inappropriate in this setting. read more

Went in to pick up equipment in the San Luis Obispo location August 5, I've NEVER been treated so rudely! Walked out!!! Correction, STORMED OUT!!! Spectrum needs to take a hard look at these employees or close the store!! I wish I would have gotten names! read more

Terrible internet service at my house so I canceled my plan. Went into store to drop off equipment and was quoted 45 minute wait. How terrible I cancel out of frustration and I cannot drop off equipment without wasting more of time with Spectrum. read more

Spectrum is a joke. I experienced almost constant outages, followed by texts claiming there's an "area outage", but apparently that doesn't actually mean the surrounding area was impacted. When I finally called to cancel, they tried to flip it on me for not calling sooner. Why would I call every time my internet goes down if you're literally texting me saying it's an outage? On top of the service never working, I was paying $140/month for internet - something their own employees said isn't even a price associated with any available plan. Suddenly, when I'm canceling, I'm told I could've been paying $40 this entire time if I had just called to negotiate. So the business model is... overcharge customers unless they complain? And to top it off, I got attitude just for asking for a receipt when returning equipment. Basic accountability seems to be too much to ask. Unreliable service, misleading communication, inflated pricing, and terrible customer support. Do yourself a favor and go with literally any other provider. read more

Colin was our specialist. I asked him how to lower our bill,& he had us switch to them for phone service. Now we get both of our phones for cheaper than our other provider, and our internet went from $80 a month to $30. He was so patient and helpful transferring our phones over. He is a really nice guy. 10/10 read more

I just went in to pick up a modem after signing up for services. Do not use Spectrum. Customer service has been horrible. I called to cancel tv's for my 88 year old mother who is sick and unable to be on phone. I have all info and security code the rudest woman would not cancel unless they talked to her. I told her that's impossible I guess I will have to call and be my mom and she rudely said no and that she tagged the account. My mom would now have to go in to store in person. Which is impossible. I will never ever give them our business nor any of my other family. read more

Siiighhhhh..... I hate being the girl that talks crap and trashes a company, but I also highly value reviews for information when I am searching for service providers, or services, or anything basically- so I feel like it is my due diligence to offer my experience that I have had with Spectrum, in case it can help others decide whether or not they want to work with Spectrum, or simply validate the crappy experience they had as well! I will say that when I lived at my previous residence, I had Spectrum for Wifi and they were the fastest and best in my neighborhood and it worked well. And then recently....I don't know about 3-4 months ago maybe? I decided to see if they had any Cell Phone deals and by golly they did. I never activated it and it turns out I am getting on my boyfriend's plan for free, but what irritated me is they have been freaking calling me several times a day for like EIGHT+ weeks! (maybe longer but I didn't track well because I was in the middle of moving when it started so I have been busy with that major and stressful life change and I'm still recovering from a traumatic injury so my timelines are a bit blurry). I understand following up and being tenacious, but if you call your customer once a day for even 2 to 3 weeks and they're not answering or calling you back, it seems respectful to me to back the hell off! I can see calling maybe 3 times a week - like Monday, Wednesday, Friday for example- and just call once a day on those days, and leave a message! They've now gotten to the point where they've stopped leaving messages, which is even weirder.....sometimes it's just dead airspace and somebody hanging up in the message. They have been blasting me and having people call 3 to 5 times a day for eight weeks. It's disrespectful and creepy, and It actually weighed into my reasoning to cancel my services with them as they are just dang annoying. And as a nice little cherry on top when I went into the store the other day, the guy was a complete dick to me and I was just coming in to ask questions about ordering a phone. I ended up ordering a phone and service with another company, and my interaction with him was part of that - but the whole experience when put together was like red flags everywhere! Definitely run the other way! He was unwilling to help me and said I needed to call customer service and he was rude and unhelpful. Maybe if Spectrum was actually willing to help its customers with matters like mine (like other providers are willing to do), then they would have more of them. Spectrum may have services that are OK or even good, but their customer service is HORRIBLE. Like straight up really bad. And blasting me for 8+ weeks calling me several times a day and after about 5-6 weeks, they stopped leaving me messages and now they just randomly call me and don't leave a message. It's super irritating and totally disrespectful. (And weird to boot) ‍‍ I understand trying to close the sale, but it actually is off-putting and probably does the opposite of what you were hoping it will do - at least it did for me that's for sure! And when I went to call and cancel right now, even though by the grace of God I was able to *finally* accomplish what I wanted, the customer service rep just would not let it go and just kept trying to offer every single option. For example I was telling her I'm moving in with my boyfriend and he has Wi-Fi and he's putting me on his Verizon plan and she was trying to get me to talk me into making my boyfriend (who pays the bills) into switching his Wi-Fi and cell phone plan! Seriously??!? It's like back off! They are SO PUSHY, and as far as my phone service that I never activated, they take it to a creepy stalking level that is super unprofessional just in and of itself. Again, it has done the opposite of what I think they were hoping and made me decide not to work with them. In addition to the bad customer service. I feel like they have Creepy stalky sales tactics and are very pushy and overbearing. No thanks, the world is creepy and stalky enough and filled with overbearing people pushing their agenda as it is! BLECH read more

Worst customer service ever. Writing this review as I wait..it's been 45 minutes. All I needed to do was return an extra router that I didn't even ask for. Agents are super unfriendly and will skip over those that are in line. I'd say go elsewhere but it looks like the other location is just as bad. read more

Every time is a horrible experience. The "specialist" don't actually do their job to the fullest. This last visit they failed to add Xumo boxes to our account. Oh and of course they failed to add AND activate the invisible WiFi, which will only work once it's connected to the internet FIRST in the store!! They send you off with equipment that is inactive and leaves you without service. Thanks for nothing! read more

It is weird to have to wait in line for 20+ minutes to buy internet. I can't think of any other business like that. The agent was helpful and efficient and I was able to do what I wanted. I would strongly recommend doing research on offers and products online before going in as there are no stated prices or brochures in the store - you are at the whim of what the agent tells you is available - which starts with the highest tier/most expensive offering. Store has displays all of their products, so you can wander around while waiting. When I was there, the store did have an oppressive scent of what I imagine a low end strip club might smell like - an overpowering sickly sweet perfume covering unmentionable acts. While this may be taken figuratively, I only mean it in the literal sense. read more

I would not recommend getting Spectrum if you can avoid it. The first time I had workers come out to help with cable they were unable to fix the problem, took our WiFi down in the process, and left without fixing the WiFi with the cable box left wide open with wires hanging out. I had to call Spectrum to get workers out again to fix the WiFi they had taken down, as the cable box was a mess, and the WiFi wouldn't restart even with extensive troubleshooting. It took a few days to get a worker out, leaving me without WiFi and a jumbled cable box for multiple days. They recently installed fiberoptic cables and put back some of my furniture, but not all of it, leaving dirt and dust on multiple items in my apartment. While moving around my furniture, they knocked over a bottle of coffee syrup, which spilled visibly all over my shelves and was never cleaned up. No note was provided as I was out then, leaving me to clean and move everything when I returned. read more

Spectrum is overly expensive. They only have one store location in SLO County and are focused on maximizing profits, not on customer service. I have had several negative experiences with their service, having problems with their signal coming and going and returning their router but continuing to be billed for it. After an hour in line there were 19 people in line at the store. Modem stopped working during storm and soonest service call was 2 days out. Went to Spectrum to swap out cable boxes and to check out the new cell phone service. Lucked out and was taken care of Bailey, a fantastic cable service provider. Getting cable from Spectrum is a month-long process and it's still not working. I think I'm going to get the tv antenna that's on Tik-Tok. The Spectrum's so-called "technicians" have been out multiple times. The second time, the technician was extremely rude and condescending. The assistance by phone came to no resolution. I think I'm resolved to believe that Spectrum cannot provide local/network channels. Remember when putting in cable was a simple process - attach the cable from the wall to the tv or cable box. Well, it's been over a month and absolutely nothing. I think the local Spectrum people should return their paychecks because, the don't do a thing to deserve them. read more

Price. They charge $84 a month for virtually the same internet I can get from Astound for $30. They are no longer the only game in town.

We needed to sign up for internet service and heard that Spectrum is pretty much the only game in town. While waiting in line at the store, I decided to sign up using my phone so that all we had to do was pick up the router. Big mistake! When we finally got to the service counter, the rep was down right rude to us for signing up online. He said we stole his commission from him and that his dog wouldn't have food for the week just because we signed up online. Nonetheless, we did get our router. Had the worst customer service interaction I have ever experienced. Only one tech working and was signing up customer on mobile. Totally fine - I know that takes a while and was fine waiting. Apparently customer knows it would also take a while so she told the tech he could help me first (I was just dropping off a modem I was no longer using). Kinda weird - but tech said no he would finish with her first and gave me a dirty look. Five minutes later customer offered again for tech to help me first but once again he said no. (I didn't ask for him to help me first). I just told him I was dropping off a modem if that was quick and he told me to "wait my damn turn" and have me another dirty look. I left and will try again when that person isn't working because he obviously has something against me. read more

Not good. 15 People in line with only one employee. People have been there for hours and have still not been helped.

We switched from AT&T to Spectrum and we were a little nervous about the decision. The customer service reps at the Spectrum store sorted everything out for us. They were very capable, confident, and relaxed. We felt like we were in really good hands the whole time, and all of our issues and questions were addressed and resolved. And....
