When it was a small local company run by a local resident, it was a much better service. Can't say I'd recommend it now....we miss Joe!

Would definitely recommend, and I highly encourage anyone over-paying for their internet service to consider what digitalputty have to offer.

update/edit see bottom:…read more Digital Putty is an excellent, enterprise level ISP that has made great strides in developing a fast, reliable network. Their network speeds, as well as their hardware, are amazing for the price. Other wireless ISP's have a tendency to over subscribe their networks, but Digital Putty maintains good throughput regardless of the time of day. If you live in a remote area, they will work with you tirelessly to establish service in your location. I have had nothing but professional and informative correspondences with their service staff. The only thing I would say they need to improve is their advertising. They should be a much higher profile company for the services they provide. Needless to say, I'm very happy. Update: Digital Putty seems to have weathered the loss of their owner very well. I'll admit, it was tumultuous for awhile, but overall bandwidth and stability seemed to have leveled out. One thing that people might not know about wireless ISP companies is that they have a narrow spectrum of frequencies to get you your service, and there is little to no regulation of those frequencies with regard to who is using them. Out where I live, there are five different companies(wireless ISP) that basically end up stepping on each other's toes in this regard. It can lead to connection issues, and Digital Putty seems to have a pretty good grasp on addressing these problems as the arise.

The speed averages 25-30 megs down (about what HughesNet delivers) and it is down at least once a day, even if briefly, with 12 hour+ outages at least once a month. The list of excuses for outages is long: -- It's cloudy and the site runs on solar panels. (Why don't you have generators?) -- We're being vandalized by competitors. (Ever heard of a fence?) -- It's the weekend and we didn't know the storm would be so bad. -- (Usually on Friday evenings.) We can't get anyone out till Monday. -- And on and on. You get the picture. My opinion? This company doesn't have the necessary capital to provide reliable service. I don't expect perfection. No company has 100% uptime. But this is the worst I've experienced since the early days of the internet here. As you can see, I have ordered the hardware from Elon Musk's Starlink (a division of SpaceX: www.starlink.com). Half the price of Advanced Wireless, Impulse, and others with reported speeds of up to 384 megs down. That's more than Spectrum gets in cities! The people at Advanced Wireless are nice. I've spoken to them all at least once, it seems. Best of luck to them going forward!

It's your wifi service co reselling your WiFi. Upgraded my service months ago to have slower service than previous plan. After hearing the support staff today when tech support thought they put me on hold: I highly recommend that other users review their rights and the basic laws of ca consumer protection. California offers several protections for internet consumers through laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the state's net neutrality law. The CCPA grants California residents the right to know what personal information companies collect, how it's used, and with whom it's shared. Consumers also have the right to request deletion of their data and to opt out of data sales. This law aims to protect your privacy and allow control over how your information is handled by businesses, including internet service providers (ISPs). Additionally, California's net neutrality law, established in 2018, prohibits ISPs from blocking or throttling lawful internet traffic, as well as from engaging in paid prioritization, which could lead to differential treatment based on payment agreements. This means that ISPs in California are not permitted to intentionally slow down internet speeds for certain users or content types, which offers further protection against discriminatory practices based on your browsing activity or preferences.
