I would like to leave feedback for Verizon Store San Luis Obispo (994 Mill St SLO, CA 93405). I went in to exchange an apple watch band. I had been in the previous day to purchase a phone and watch for my son (13 yo). The lady that helped me was helpful but unfortunately did not ask us about watch band size and sold us a M/L band that would clearly not fit a 13yo. The band was unusably large. I returned the next day hoping to remedy this. When I told the guy that greeted me the situation, the first thing he said was that there would be a $50 restocking fee. This was ridiculous because 1) it was Verizon's mistake 2) I had been told I could exchange the watch within 30 days. He argued with me when I expressed frustration at this and did not suggest any options to help me. When I asked him why he couldn't waive the fee he just said he couldn't. Upon further pressing him, he said that they could probably waive the fee online. On even further prompting, he agreed to put me on the phone with an online rep (since normally calling in is at least a 30-60 minute wait). As I was talking to the online rep, I asked him if he even had the replacement watch in stock. He said he would check and wandered off. He was very unhelpful and somewhat rude, making no attempt to apologize or try and solve my problem. A simple "Hey, I'm sorry that happened, let me see what I can do to help" would have gone a long way. He then sent another lady to help me (and never did check the stock on the watch) while he (apparently) played on his phone and chatted with the other employee. The online customer support person and the other lady in the store were very helpful and immediately helped me resolve the issue. During my interaction with them, it was mentioned that the original guy was the store manager! Shocking. Pretty terrible example to set for the staff and terrible customer service. 1 star for him, 5 stars for the other folks that eventually helped me. This guy should get some training in customer service. read more

This is the shadiest establishment that I have ever conducted business at. Our shifty customer service representative fraudulently talked us into buying a home internet box claiming it was eligible for a promotion. We came in to clear this up and access our promotion when he SUDDENLY realized that the promotion had expired when he sold the first box to us and that we would need to purchase another internet box and service line to get the promotion. I wouldn't normally write a review this long but I have been in the store for my sixth time trying to fix this and the rep who is trying to help resolve this has hidden in the back room to avoid us until a manager returns his call. read more

Ask what the wait will be before settling in. It really depends on when you go. I've had both good and bad experiences at the Verizon store. We'll see how the deal they are about to offer me now, for switching plans, compares with the one I was offered a couple of months ago by a salesman there (who, by the way, I actually did like). In general though after being a customer for 25 plus years, my most recent interaction with their CALL CENTER PEOPLE has set a new low bar, marking the worst experience I've EVER HAD WITH ANY COMPANY OR CORPORATE ENTITY IN MY LIFETIME OF 70+ YEARS! It began when one of their agents called me and offered me a deal which sounded too good to be true. I carefully repeated the deal to her three times just to be sure and knowing, that in any case, the conversation would be recorded. When my next bill did not reflect the savings I contacted Verizon.They said they were unable to give me the deal and that the agent had made an error, and despite the fact that they did have the recording, they argued that even if the agent, while representing Verizon, promised the deal, they couldn't honor it because they would be losing money on it !!! read more

Arroyo Grande Verizon retail store (on commission) salesman tried to sell me a new $1000+ phone to replace the one that crashed, after just two years. Didn't seem right. So I went to the "real" Verizon store just above downtown SLO. Found out quickly that I was due a free, new, replacement phone, which I got right there and which the retailer had failed to tell me about, hoping to get a commission, I guess, on a new, unnecessary sale! Made a return visit to the retail store to complain about the potential ripoff. They didn't want to hear about it. Stay away!! read more

The customer service here is absolutely terrible. We went in earlier this week to try to upgrade our phones and the salesman Marcus, could not have cared less about helping us. His attitude was basically "that's just how it is, take it or leave it.". They no longer have actual models of any phones other than iPhones and we were told that the manufacturers just wouldn't send demo phones anymore, but Best Buy had demos of EVERY SINGLE PHONE. I will never go here again unless I have no other option. read more

My son and I went in to upgrade our phones. Damian Munoz helped us. He went the extra mile to ensure we got the best deal possible and were completely satisfied. He is extremely knowledgeable and made sure our phones were set up perfectly before we left. I don't live in the area any longer but go there to visit family. Next time I need an upgrade, I am going to try to be visiting so I can work with Damian again. I am a Customer Service Manager and so I can be pretty hard to please. I went into the store this morning because my iPhone 11 started displaying "SIM CARD " failure. My research on Verizon's website indicated that SIM card replacement is free. The representative told me that was happening on all old iPhones and started pushing me toward a upgrade to the iPhone 14. He made no effort to activate my SIM card, and when I asked about a replacement he said it was $20. I told him that the Verizon website said SIM cards were free, to which he replied "oh they always say that". He had me almost to the point of upgrading two phones, when I asked about heart monitoring functions of the Apple Watch, to which he replied "that feature is only on the Apple Watch ultra". At that point I realized he was full of BS and only interested in making a sale. I told him to cancel everything, and walked out. At home, on a land line I called Verizon support and they are sending a SIM card, no charge! Stay away from this store!! read more

customer service at Verizon Arroyo Grande Ca just reached a new low in customer service . I walked in at 10 am 7-23 and was greeted by a female rep with curly brown hair. Never introduced herself, I explained that my phone was broken , she explained that the phone insurance would not cover the cost of a new phone and proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay a 200% tax in order to purchase a new phone. ( no I am not making this up), When I questioned Miss Curly Brown hair, why I needed to pay a 200% tax in order to get a new phone, she suddenly became hostile an told me to get out of the store before I call the cops! I have phoned customer support to complain , I am reaching out to Verizon Corp. to make sure nobody who ever walks into a Verizon store will ever have to deal with this Wench ! read more

I went in to change my plan, add someone to my plan, upgrade both phones and Sam literally made the experience so great. We were there for quite a while because of how much stuff we had to do, but time flew with her with how great she was. She's so sweet and funny and made us feel so comfortable with everything. I purchased the Google Pixel Palm to replace an aging Samsung Note 3 and I am very happy with the phone. The service and process in the store is why this is one star rather than the four I would give to the phone. The pricing is sneaky and this is especially true of the "Upgrade Fee" of $40 for absolutely nothing. I visited the store three times, twice to try the phones and the third time to buy the phone. You walk in an the first thing they want is your phone number and an ID card. Not exactly a friendly greeting and to me this was rude. They might want to start with helping me find a phone by asking some questions. On the final trip I checked in with the sales person who put me in the queue. This person then stood around doing nothing for the next 15 minutes then called my name and asked how they could help. That was 15 minutes of my life I will never get back wasted for no reason. It took another 45 minutes to buy the phone, again for no reason that I could see. The rep just kept doing something with the ordering device and I just stood there looking at my watch. He offered two color options then told me that only one was available. I wondered why he offered and option that he knew he did not have. After checking with his boss twice about the order he finally processed my order. This is a work phone and the billing was broken into multiple parts for some odd reason, again with no explanation. So part of this phone went on our account and the other part on my credit card. Now we have to piece this together for no reason. After all this time he handed me instructions on how to transfer data from my old phone. The process was flawed and did not work on this phone. On the new phone the software gets stuck in the process. Now I face a decision of how to resolve this. Do I drive back to the store to figure this out or just blow it off? Maybe for their $40 upgrade fee they could actually upgrade the phone. The upgrade fee is, in my opinion, simply deceptive pricing. The phone did not cost $359 it costs $395. Add to that a case and screen the phone is closer to $500. The case was more expensive because it is case and battery pack that they strongly recommended because the battery in the unit way too small for the job. They were right the battery in the base unit it is nowhere near enough for any reasonable level of phone use. I will certainly not recommend this store to anyone. If an opportunity to change service providers happens in the future this store experience will be a factor. read more

Needed to switch over to Verizon. Called ahead and talked to a useless, bored Caleb. I asked if I should make an appointment. He was so disinterested that he told me to come at 1 and ask for Daniel. I was quoted a monthly rate for unlimited with Verizon at Costco two days before... so I had an idea of what I wanted as far as the plan with an iPhone 11. Showed up, asked for Daniel. About seven employees all standing behind counter helping one person. Daniel asked why I asked for him and started joking and and questioning the other employees and myself making me so very uncomfortable. Daniel said he was busy and asked what I was interested in. I told him and he said the best he could do was $115 a month. $25 over what Costco said. Just like that. No kindness, no interest in helping me. With ALL those employees acting the same way! I left immediately. Don't go here. Go to Costco. read more

I needed to upgrade my phone and was helped by Frankie Maldonado, who helped me through every step and made sure I left with my phone up and running. Went in an hour before closing time, was greeted and told we would be helped as soon as possible, about 55 minutes go by and still not being helped, wasn't even acknowledged by the employees at the registers, the manager was just hanging out not doing anything... once one of the "employees" was done helping out a customer, he stood back and was just chatting with the manager and didn't even check to see if we needed help (mind you by this time it was already 7:56pm and they were about to close) I understand if they are busy and can't get to you but why not say anything as soon as we arrived!? This is the worst Verizon store I've ever been to. The staff is not helpful nor, do they even show a modicum of urgency or care about what they're doing. They all have poor attitudes and have no problem being rude to customers. It was slightly busy but I was ignored for at least 10-15 minutes before I was completely overlooked and they started checking people in who came in after me. Then when it was finally my turn I got the worst of them all, David. He was so rude to me I don't ever want to go back into the store again. I left before replacing my completely broken phone. Nothing worst then having an initially good visit, only to have found out that you were lied to about the accessories that you have to pay for. I was sold a screen protector and told that once I register it I could came back to the store and have it switched out because of its lifetime warranty. So today I go to switch it out and I'm told that I have to get a replacement online and I'll have to pay an additional $12 for shipping. I already over paid for the original screen protector compared to Amazon and now I have to pay $12 to ship a piece of plastic? There is nothing about this store that is pleasant anymore. Please understand that i have been with Verizon as my only phone company since i got a cell phone ten years ago. The store in Arroyo Grande was opened as a technical support store which was great! I didnt need to drive to San Luis Or Santa Maria anymore. When they first opened they were amazing. Everyone of the staff members knew about ALL the phones they knew how to trouble shoot and solve issues. Now all they do is pull the battery and if it doesnt fix the issue they insurance out your phone (if you have insurance) or upgrade your phone. No thank you. If I wanted this type of customer service I could go to any other phone company and pay alot less and receive the same amount of coverage. When it gets to the point where the technical store isnt worried about being a technical store but meeting their sales quotas im not interested anymore. The store sales person, believe it was David, misled me horribly. He also lied about a discount program I am offered through my work, and whether or not the accessories I bought were eligible. Do NOT EXPECT HONESTY OR INTEGRITY FROM THIS STORE!! A little background, HTC launched the HTC One M8 phone on March 25th, 2014 at 10AM. I called around 10AM to see if the store had them in stock, they did. David asked me to come in and ask for him. I did, and was excited about the new phone. Went into the store to purchase the phone on a subsidized two year plan, for $199. The salesperson, David, informed me of the Verizon Edge plan (which I had investigated) and that there was a promotion for $10 off the price of the phone per month, without any changes to my current plan. This would cost me a little more in the end, but allowed me to change phones effectively within a year. It is basically a lease program. The $10 a month savings made it to where I was interested, and I purchased it. Verizon Wireless has a 14 day return policy. This phone was purchased on March 25th. Today is April 12th. My bill came in today, with absolutely no indication of the $10 per month credit. Called into Verizon this morning and was informed I would have to switch to the "More Everything" plan to receive the $10 credit. This was in no way explained to me in the store. The "More Everything" plan actually will cost me more, and provides me with less everything. So, this is not a viable option for me. I asked to be allowed to pay for the phone, and stick with my current plan. Verizon Wireless informed me that since we have passed the 14 day policy, there is nothing they can do. (We are 4 days past at this point.) My bill came in today, so there is no way for me to have known this before the 14 days ended. The personnel in the store lied to me about the phone, the plans, and the accessories. My discount was not applied appropriately for the plan or the accessories I purchased, and I have been generally screwed by Verizon and their employees at this store. My options are limited it seems, but I can guarantee I will not spend one penny in this store ever again, and highly suggest that if you are looking for trustworthy advice you NEVER step foot in this store. If it means driving to another store, or finding a different carrier DO IT! Stay away from this store at all costs. I am considering my options, which may include leaving Verizon entirely, unless their corporate office make this right by me. EDIT: UPDATE After multiple calls and chat sessions with Verizon Wireless, with no reasonable outcome, I got a hold of Elaine in the Customer Service Center and she was extremely helpful. She was willing and able to accommodate the issue, and actually saved us money monthly. She was able to take a very crappy situation, and turn it into a positive for us in the long run. It is sad that she had to do this considering the store should never have lied to me, but she was willing to help and we appreciate that. Verizon Wireless redeemed themselves through her, but this store is still a strong stay away unless you really feel like being lied to. read more

Im never one to complain but this was by far my least favorite experience buying a phone or phones in our case. My boyfriend and I needed new phones so we went in and Eric was the guy helping us out he had a bunch of new trainees and kept trying to sell us Motorola phones when I had already said to one of the trainees I had an iPhone and wasn't planning on switching brand. My boyfriend was convinced to buy one of the Motorola edge plus phones, after hours of getting his number switched over due to different phone carrier prior. We got our phones they started putting screen protectors and cases on the phone without asking if we wanted it didn't tell us it was apart of a bundle just did it on their own. We traded our phones in and they gave us 4 extra chargers in total. Eric never gave us a rundown on payments or end bill but at that point I figured it shouldn't be much we traded phones in and still paid 300 out the door. As soon as we get home I look into my Verizon account and nothing was out towards it my phone trade in paid for half or so of the chargers cases and screen protectors. I went in wanting to trade our phones in to go towards our new phones and that did NOT happen. Now here's the best part! 12 days later my boyfriends Motorola edge plus stopped working correctly, the screen was overlapping images and it kept turning purple or green and at some point his apps were staying stuck on the screen and eventually went completely black on and off the flashlight worked though. We called and finally took the phone back since we were within the 14 days and even then they were saying basically "how convenient it was that it was on the 14th day" when we went in they didn't have the galaxy 10 which was originally what we wanted so my boyfriend said he just wanted to have a galaxy again and they ordered it for him. He went in had it changed with a bit of some trouble regarding the 14 day exchange since we were now out of the window. My boyfriend was happy but upset with what he heard from Eric apparently this was a known problem that he was aware of already but yet they still sold the phone to us, unless he was just lying about him and his friends buying the phone themselves to find that it didn't work properly. It's just so upsetting what one will do to earn that commission, they take advantage of people and he even said to his coworker/trainee watch me cause I make the most money here. Are you freaking kidding me, prying on people saying it's only gonna be an extra 50-60 a month to your bill my bill used to be 80$ when I went home to check it was 365$ tell me how that's 50-60$ more a month. we will not be returning to this store again that's for sure and he needs to get fired or something all the employees there are rude too to top it off they were making fun of customers as we were in the store buying phones and during the phone switch as well.... literally the WORST customer service!!! read more

This store is in a great location and has a great selection of phones/accessories. Now the service is good at times then bad at others, the other day I upgraded to the new iPhone 6 Plus and the employee was great but a few months ago I had gone in to get a case and ended up waiting an hour for someone to help me. So it's very unpredictable on how well the service will be. Over all though this is a great store and for the most part has good employees. read more
