I'm in Texas, but I spoke with Tracy in North Carolina. I want to begin this review by saying I was seething through my teeth getting through Spectrum's automated messaging. It infuriated me. Upon answering my call, Tracy was not only in a positive mood, but she was a ray of sunshine- asking why I wanted to leave Spectrum, and if there was anything they could do. I told her I was upset I only received one email reminding my promotional rate would soon expire (though I received almost a dozen emails when I signed up). She understood, and looked through the promotions to see what else Spectrum could offer me. I was apprehensive she would find another plan, and I had already decided I was going to move to Verizon. Tracy's genuine interest in my situation and eagerness to find a plan right for me made me STAY WITH SPECTRUM. Tracy deserves a raise. She's an incredible saleswoman, and completely flipped my day around. I signed up for another YEAR WITH SPECTRUM. Thank you, Tracy, for being a light in a world of darkness. Just want to warn people about Spectrum. IF you decide to stop using their services mid-billing cycle, they will still charge you the full amount. My spectrum bill had gotten to almost $200 a month so I found other services that are way cheaper. I ended up paying over $31 a day for 6 days of service. BrightSpeed is way cheaper, and ROKU has a 1 time charge and you get plenty of TV options. Mint has cheap decent cell service available. Not sure about everyone else but but less than $80 I am getting the same service. Given the cost of food I can use the extra $120 to cover groceries. read more

If I had known internet could get this bad, cell phone service could get this bad, I would have thought twice before I switched from my flawless att service. Somethings are worth paying more for. There are three students in my house and we have to have reliable internet. Period. 3 years with att, no problems that I can recall. 100 days with spectrum more problems than I can count, beginning with the bait and switch move they pulled on the deal that prompted me to switch providers in the first place. 1 star is not low enough. Please, please, please do not get locked into their "phone lease" service. I was told three different stories by three different people. You are not leasing anything on day 15 you own their $200 phone and you will end up paying $200 for it. Please use Verizon prepaid for $25 month with your own phone or Mint Mobile for $15/mos. Also, if they tell you they are going to raise your internet fees tell them you want to cancel your service. They will then send you to the cancellation dept. where they will give you their lowest rate. Learn to play the games with them that they play with their customers. read more

I had a pretty good experience at this Spectrum store & Andre'a helped me and she was lovely to talk with, clearly knowledgeable about what she was doing. Do not come here without A RESERVATION! I've seen it get extremely packed with people, so go to their website for this location and schedule a time. It was super easy to do and had times available same day. For parking, there is limited street parking available - so if driving i suggest parking in the Parking Garage behind Publix or walking over from Atherton Mill parking deck. read more

This store in Southend gives you an opportunity to take care of Spectrum Service needs. The store is setup so you walk in and meet a greeter that puts you on a wait list. There are plenty of chairs and couches to hang out in while you wait. Lots of tvs playing various cable channels and Spectrum adds on repeat in the background. Just stopped here to help a friend pick up a new cable modem. It's nice to have a physical storefront to be able to pick up equipment and not have to have a cable guy come out and install it. It looks like you can also pay your bills here at the easy pay station. The folks are nice enough, I'm sure they probably have their share of hostile customers come through here. read more

I think if you have to use Spectrum you always will have a love/hate relationship with them as there are not many choices. We have been with Time Warner, now Spectrum for a long time. One of our boxes stopped working and I took it into this location after work last week. This location is much brighter than the old Time Warner location that I was going to. There is a greeter right at the front who will put your name down. At TWC, you would take a number and wait for your number to flash on the screen. Here, you just leave your name and wait for one of the representatives to actually yell your name. I now realize from one of the reviews that there is a list of names, however, on the side that I was seated and waiting, (it was very busy), you could not see the screen, nor is there a large screen flashing who is next like at TWC. So you have to be paying attention to hear your name, otherwise you will miss it. Also, some of the representatives are not loud or clear when calling a name. Just don't think the new way of doing things is a good idea. After about a 30 minute wait, I was finally called up. I exchanged my boxes quickly and went home. We tried to hook the new box up ourselves, but were not successful. We then called Spectrum and the representative tried to reset the box a couple of times. Unfortunately she was also unable to get it working and we had to wait a couple of days for someone to come out for an appointment. All was fixed at the appointment, but it through the time spent and getting the box to work was a hassle. The guys that came out though were very nice and offered us suggestions for the future noticing we had several old boxes from TWC and it we should upgrade soon to get faster and better service. Also gave us hints on ways to lower our bill. Overall, it's just one of the companies we have decided to have to deal with since we have cable and internet through them. They could have better ways of handling things in store and of course better pricing, but it is what it is. read more

After recently cancelling my account with Spectrum, I had to return my cable and home security boxes, as I had home security with them as well. Upon arrival on a Thursday around 9:30am I was greeted with a friendly smile and pointed to the next available representative. Lucky for me there was no line. Once the associate pulled up my account he scanned my products and proceeded to indicate that I was all set. The location is very clear and spacious with several representatives there to assist. Everyone was very nice and I was out the door with a smile. Which that is sometimes hard to say when it comes to dealing with television companies/customer service. Went to Spectrum store on South Blvd today, to return two cable boxes. The store was not very busy but it took about an hour before we were called it to the counter. Most of the employees were walking around socializing not helping customers. Finally get to the counter and the service rep is unable to accept one of the two boxes, after a good deal of time he calls over the manager who is no help . They start to chat and socialize while stareing into the monitor . I ask what the problem is. They state I will have to take one box to UPS and leave one here at the store. I say no, the boxes are the same and we acquired them at the same time. I say, I will leave both here and they can sort it out. they say no, they won't be responsible. I say you will because I took a photo of you and the boxes together. About 20 sec later the manager says , ok it's done . Why did we have go through all of that? If I had not taken that photo we would still be there. Horrible customer service. will never go back. read more

My service has been bad for months. It has gotten worse and worse. It finally got so bad that I had them check my signal. They said it was fine. After another week or so, it continued to get worse. I started having internet signal about 50% of the time with 10 to 20 minutes with it and then 10-20 without. I called again and they said I had a good signal. They then tested the router and said it was going in and out. They said a technician would have to check for the problem. I needed immediate service due to months of problems. I needed internet asap for my work because my office is at my house. They said they would send me the date and would expedite it since it is for my business. I asked if there was any chance they could send someone that same day. They said no, but should be able to the next day. When I received notice of when someone would come, it was two days later. I assumed there was nothing I could do to get someone sooner. Service date came two days later and nobody showed up. I received a text saying my service had been pushed back another day. I called and complained, telling them this was not fair, and I would cancel my service if someone didn't show up on the scheduled day. The lady said that was probably not going to happen and if I wanted to cancel, I could feel free to do so. I won't be at my home/office for the newly scheduled time. Therefore, I am researching other companies to purchase my Internet services. From what I've found so far, it looks like I can get faster service for less money through Windstream. Spectrum does not care about regular paying customers. They seem to have a monopoly on wired high-speed Internet. I hope Windstream can provide service for me and is better than spectrum has been. read more

In comparison to Fios, I'm not liking this service so far. Yuck. The wait was long in the store. There were more customers than clerks. And... I've not been able to use my WiFi at night for the last three nights resting everything again and again. I'm home alone with two babies under age 2. So it's not my devices that are being too demanding. I just don't think spectrum is all that great. I have been a Spectrum customer for several years. For the last year or so, I have been experiencing buffering issues. Every time that I called customer service, they would shoot signals or do what they thought was helpful to resolving the problem. This week, I kept experiencing internet interruption. I called customer service for technical support as in the past, on Sunday, June 18th. This representative took the time to check to see how old my equipment was. She stated that they stopped giving this equipment out for over a year. She quickly stated that she would send out the newer equipment at no cost to me. I received the new equipment today. My service appears to be working better. Please, Spectrum, retrain your employees to check that first , if they are long-standing customers. read more

I live in area that should not receive spotty service from this major internet company yet EVERY DAY I am having a problem with my internet and I work from home. If it's not buffering 2500 times a day it goes completely out or just freezes and when I talk to a tech they just have me to do the same things I have already done and say the equipment is fine. I was told by a Spectrum's sale rep that the TV Life Style stream would work on a Smart TV and any TV that had fire stick or another device. However I was not able to download the app on my smart tv or with other devices such as a fire stick. When I called for technical support I was told by their tech that the Life Style streaming would not work on a smart tv but only with Roku. The sale rep that convinced me to purchase the service never said anything about it working only on Roku. I was charged for the service even though it never worked. I recently checked the better business bureau and found out that Spectrum has a F rating. read more

This is about spectrum in general, it is the worst! When it rains and the service goes down they are experts at blowing smoke up your ass, but not getting your service back on! My service went down yesterday at 12:35 pm because of the little storm that we had and my service is still down!!!!!! PLEASE save your time and money. Avoid moving to areas where Spectrum is the only provider AT ALL COSTS. A storm came through my area for a little over an hour and I was then told (on Saturday night) I have to go five days without internet because they can't send a technician out until Thursday. I work from home (Monday through Friday) and they literally give no other solutions to temporarily solve the problem, which is insane considering again they are the only provider in my area. I then reached out today (Monday July 11) at 5pm after receiving a message this morning at 8:34am that my outage had been "restored" in my area and that I could cancel the Thursday appointment. I came home to check before actually believing Spectrum, thankfully, because my apartment was the only apartment that the oh so busy technicians neglected to fix. I then called Spectrum for the 7th time literally...and was told by a representative that going to a store near me would fix the internet issue. I came home to find out that the replacement didn't fix the issue (wasted my gas and time) to then be told (by a supervisor) how much they "understand" my frustrations and "would love to help" only for nothing to get done aside from me being told yet again that Thursday is the closest they have for technician availability even though they literally just sent technicians back out to my area this morning to fix everyone else's internet aside from mine. They are quick to take money from you and try to get you to get bigger package deals but HORRIBLE when it comes to actually giving customers solutions to problems the company would have to fix even after speaking with three representatives and two supervisors. Anytime you experience any kind of storm your internet more than likely will go out and you will go days without internet which will be okay with the "amazing" Spectrum service providers. read more

They gave us what was suppose to be a discount to start an account with them but every single month the bill kept going up, when you call to get help you get awful customer service and all they want to do is sell extra stuff to you and when you don't take those offers they don't want to help and just rush you off the phone and GET THIS- when you stop your account you're suppose to return the cable box and supposedly if you do you don't get charged for it. THAT'S NOT TRUE!! When we ended ours they told us where to return the items and we returned them, they were in absolute perfect condition, literally like new then 2 months later we start getting bill after bill and phone call after phone call charging us $80.00 for a device that we DID return in PERFECT condition. After sending in receipt proof they keep saying they'd take care of it and we wouldn't be charged but nope they turned it into collections and it's now on our credit history for something we took care of already. We always always paid on time, most of the time a week earlier than it was due. This is a crap company that's thief's.
