The check-in tablet froze. Not a big deal, but several customers reported this to the two "customer service agents" who NEVER acknowledged the customers. I was finally helped by Laura who accepted my equipment like I was handing her cat poo. When I requested a receipt because I was told to do so in order to receive a credit because I was transferring service and I was given new equipment, Laura told me "the company doesn't prorate." She was adamant, but I did finally get my receipt. Spectrum, train your front line people better. Tell them to acknowledge customers who report that the check in equipment isn't working. Tell them that the company does "prorate" customers who are transferring service. After leaving the store, I called and was given the amount of the credit which was applied to my new account. I had Spectrum for many years. I called in to cancel service and was NEVER told that if I cancelled 3 days into a new billing cycle I would be billed for the complete month. They are crooks. I called back after my closing date and was then told the billing was not going to be placed towards my account since they hadn't billed my account yet. Next, I took the router into a UPS store they scanned it and took it. I now have received 3 notifications that they have not received the router. What a horrible company to deal with. THIS REVIEW IS FOR SPECTRUM MOBILE First off, please note that there is no proration for the By The Gig plan. (I guess you can use 1 gig in a day or month) however long, you pay the FULL $14 a month. I started my service on the 29th of the month and had to pay $14 for a few days of service plus an activation fee of $10. (per line) $14 is no big deal but it's better to know up front than to find out later. I am learning how there billing is working and will update this review accordingly. I should have wait a few day and started service in 2022. I would have saved $14. I called to ask billing questions, and of course everyone in the billing call center is lost, they had to put me on hold to calculate $14 + $10. Really? Another person I spoke to just wanted to get me off the phone so he offered me a $25 credit, that was the max he was allow to do and we ended on a friendly note. They tell you that they do not prorate, and I have heard that when cancelling from others. However, I recently activated 3 more iPhone on the Unlimited plan and they did prorate the month. This is what was confusing. They charged $45 per line prorated for the month. Then they also sent a credit to lower the bill to a prorated $29.99 a month. Here is the math if you want to follow along: (35.36/45) which gave me the prorated percentage for the month when I started, then times it by $29.99. They will likely not be willing to help you at all. That's my impression of the staff in this place, and they wasted 40 minutes of my time for nothing; they are unwilling to help. I will not recommend this place if you need in-person help. I find the agent online to be helpful. I bought my own all-in-one cable internet modem with a wifi router for my apartment because my current modem from Spectrum is very old, and I don't want to be charged $8 a month for it. I was aware that I needed to call Spectrum to have my own router to be registered with them. Still, I tried having it done online by chatting with an agent on their website, and they were able to set it up, and it is working perfectly. My internet speed is faster than before. The agent told me online to drop off the modem at any Spectrum stores, and so I did. I went to this Store since this is the closest. The agent even said they would leave a note on my account that I'm dropping off the old one, and the new router is already set up. I went to the store and signed up at their kiosk, and waited. As I was waiting, this is what I observed: There were at least five employees there; four of them were in their booths helping other customers. There were five booths there, and 2 of them were vacant. Two of their staff were chit-chatting with other staff, and I'm not sure if they were on a lunch break. They were louder than the TVs in there. After helping a customer, it seems they take their sweet time (at least ten minutes) before assisting another customer. The queue was getting longer. There were at least 30 customers waiting to be helped, and the staff seemed they didn't care at all. The staff seemed like they weren't happy to work that day; they all seemed unhappy at all. The way they call the customers' names sounded almost unprofessional; I cringe whenever they call the names of the customers they were supposed to help. I heard one customer there being "helped," saying to the "Well, thanks for not helping me at all, I wasted my time here talking to you for nothing." Anyways, they called my name by this staff that seemed that he had just clocked in, and from his facial expression after I said hi, he didn't like what he was doing. It looks like he hates his job. He assumed I wanted to stop my internet service because I was trying to drop off their crappy router; I said no. I explained to him that I bought my own router and was able to set it up with an agent online on the Spectrum website. He checked my account on his computer, and with just glancing on his computer screen for less than 3 seconds, he immediately responded, "You have to call Spectrum to remove this router on your account and to register your own router." I answered that I already had it set up and registered, and my internet at home was running much faster. He responded, "that's impossible. As I said, you have to call Spectrum to have the old one removed and to add your own router to your account. We cannot accept this router." I asked him if he could look it up on my account if the agent left a note that I would drop the old modem at the store. And without even checking it on his computer, he responded like I offended him, "I told you many times that you need to call Spectrum. We cannot do it here." So I asked him what the point of having a Spectrum Store if you can't and have no willingness to help me fix this, which he could not answer. I told him that he was not really helpful at all, and I left the store. And in that whole conversation, he did not even apologize that he could not help me. If this store treats its customers like crap. I think it's time to close this branch. The staff is very unprofessional. They're just there for the paycheck. Spectrum internet is good, however they have perpetrated a FRAUD on me. Several months ago I received a mailing from Spectrum advertising Apple TV. I called and asked the salesperson if Apple included ABC, CBS & NBC. She assured me that it did. I asked again (the call was recorded) and she assured me that it did. When the Apple TV arrived I installed it and saw that it DID NOT give me the networks I requested. I immediately called Spectrum to ask to return the Apple and they asked if I had opened the box. Of course I did. How was I to find out if it worked? They told me that if I opened the box they wouldn't refund my money. I spoke to three different people who all said the same. CATCH 22! And then have their customer service people be completely rude to you implying that you are silly for not knowing about the price increase that they clearly hid in the place where most people don't look. Anything they really want you to know about they put in an email, in a notification when you first log in, or on the actual page when you go to billing online. Anything they don't want you to know about, but want to be able to say they told you about, they put somewhere in a pdf online. The customer service rep was sooo rude. And you're only that rude if the company and environment allows you to be. People are just calling for the information. Nobody is calling for you to pretend that this information was put in an obvious place, or pretend that other customers aren't calling about the same thing. I barely got the question out before the rep started in with a rote response. When the rudeness kicked in, I asked you're telling me no one else asked this question or had this problem. Stop it. They also need to have a better easier way to give feedback on reps so they can't be rude and then hide and blend in with the safety of anonymity. The price increase is not the reps fault. But the rudeness, passive aggressiveness and condescension is. Giving a bad rude unhelpful attitude but with a smile and a laugh is. A company who actually cared about customers would not keep people on who did this kind of thing. Just give the information, apologize on behalf of the company, and understand people's frustration and show some understanding of what happens for people when companies pull this kind of thing. Give whatever help or discounts that you can. But there's no reason to add a bad attitude or condescending attitude to this kind of thing. With everything people are going through now, and all the stress people are under be friendly warm understanding regardless of the situation and you can change, someones day instead of piling on by adding your own rudeness to this kind of thing. It is a stressful time for all. Train reps to take better care of people, and instead of adding more stress to people's days and lives you could have them add something positive helpful truthful or kind. Deborah at the Spectrum Burbank store is amazing!!! She is very knowledgeable, kind, and patient. My mom and I went in with many questions and wanted to make a couple of changes to our accounts. She upgraded all of our old equipment and signed us up for mobile phone service which is such a great deal! I'm paying $29.99 a month for unlimited talk and data usage and with my account, my mom has all of this free for a year. Although I wish they had much better prices for cable, I'm so grateful to be saving a lot of money with their mobile service and have better reception now than I did with AT&T. If I could give 0 stars, I would. The service has been terrible since day one, often dipping out sometimes multiple times per month with outages. They are also so shady on billing. I recently canceled my service because I am moving, but since they claim that they don't pro-rate, they made me pay for a full month, even though I was planning to move before the month was up. So, I should have had a full month of service before they closed the account right? Nope, they closed it a week before the service was scheduled to end even though they made me pay for the full month. In what world is that ethical?! I deeply hate Spectrum and wish there were more options in my area, but if you don't have to go with them, don't.... Oh, and if you do, and if your bill creeps up, just threaten to cancel, and then they will give you a special promo rate to try to get you to stay. read more

Connection drops all the time, customer service is instructed to push on you arrogant unhelpful incompetent advice, without solving the problems, and now they claim that with the latest router/modem combo we cannot choose between 2.4G and 5G. With this trick they have weakened the signal so they can push on you an extender, so more money for them. I wish there would not have a monopoly in so many places and i hope they go out of business as soon as possible, they are not worth the money or the time at all. Highly recommend this shop. Got there on Tuesday around 12:30 pm. Great check in and wait experience, and by the time I got to the counter, the gentleman there was helpful. Remember to ask for your receipt. And the phone reps for both billing and activation have been great as well. Internet connection has been good thus far. No complaints. We were forced into using Spectrum Business because our previous provider was leaving the area. "No contracts" isn't a benefit. They have increased the price of our service by 100% over a period of three years. With such an increase, one would think their service would improve or at least stay the same. Nope, they no longer offer call details on their bills and I can no longer get a call log for our business. They have terminated this service (without telling us). There are still three methods shown on their website for how to export a call log. None of them work. I called in to "Customer Service" and they said, nope, they no longer offer that. Today's date is 4/25/2021 and our internet has been out since 8am. They have been sending text messages every two hours letting us know that, "Restoration work has taken longer than expected". I fear this may last all day until 11pm as it happened previously on 3/27/2021. Spectrum is proving that they are not a reliable internet service and that they can not tackle these outages quickly nor are they becoming less frequent. Spectrum has about 5 outages per year and they last for a long time. This has inconvenienced all of the people in my area and none of us are able to go about our Sunday's as planned. We are in need of a new internet service provider for the north Hollywood area. A company that is reliable and has fast internet. Any suggestions? read more
