No words can adequately describe how awful your experience will be upon walking through these doors. I only know that everyone on Earth should experience it at least once in their lives to truly understand what really bad customer service looks like. Don't even think about being a "walk-in". I was the first person through the doors and 90 minutes later the 2 customer service reps were still taking care of 10am appointments. I woke up to an unexpected $500 charge from Spectrum. After a long wait, a rep told me it was "unusual" and couldn't explain it, so he refunded me. Later in the same call, he said it was from international data roaming during a recent trip to South America. My wife and I used Wi-Fi the whole time and forgot data roaming was even on. Spectrum claimed they warned me via email, but I receive dozens of promo/spam emails from them monthly. Their email didn't clearly state I'd be auto-charged $500 once a certain threshold was reached, which feels deceptive. Since the rep already refunded it, he said I'd be recharged next month. I called again to dispute it and spoke to a rep who laughed when I asked for a supervisor. A manager told me I'd also be charged $585 unless I upgraded to an unlimited plan -- so I paid $40 just to avoid that. Still, I was told the $500 charge would remain. On a third call, another rep told me I wouldn't be charged the $500 at all, but instead, $50. By now, I had received three completely different answers. The inconsistency is unacceptable. While checking my account, I saw I'd been charged for premium TV services I don't use and a Roku device I already own -- something that has happened multiple times in the past. Then I checked my Internet speed. I've been paying for Ultra Internet (advertised at 700+ Mbps) but only got around 120 Mbps. Even after downgrading to a 500 Mbps plan, I still get the same speed. On top of that, the Ultra plan price jumped from $60 to $130/month over time, without any clear explanation. read more

Rates continue to increase, but service stays the same, at best. Quitting them is another exercise in pain. After a forced phone call that lasted much longer than it needed to you have to make an appointment just to return the equipment. While trying to check in, the tablet wouldn't accept my confirmation number or email. I waited around for awhile until one of the employees said to just go drop it off at UPS. What a waste of my time, and the other half a dozen customers that walked out with me. Not recommended! read more

Spectrum customer service on the phone is a waste of time as is their online "shopping" which sends you to a phone number to call with no details of services after you put in your address. Then once you do call it's a bait and switch ploy. We're looking at Starlink now. read more

I have never been a customer. I never will be. Spectrum charter hired a dumb ass contractor to tear up My yard. It took 12 months and a complaint to the better business bureau for them to finally fix the damage they caused. I was polite and patient in the beginning and spoke to several useless managers and got ten work ticket numbers which were completely useless. In the end I had to threaten a law suit and finally somebody showed up after promising to half a dozen times and never showing up. They still have ppl to try to force their crappy internet down my throat, even though Iv said I don't want it a million times. To be honest, I am rather frustrated with Spectrum. I cannot comprehend how a huge corporation has the time and money to afford costly advertising campaigns promising excellent service and product. Yet, they cannot even provide basic reliable internet services to businesses, who are losing money each time the internet goes down. Constantly the internet at my work place goes down. The average days it goes down per week is anywhere between three to seven days a week. It could go out for 20 minutes or for hours. There is no consistency or reliability. On the average day it will go out for 30 minutes, back up for 10 minutes, down again for another hour or so and back up for an hour then back down for an hour and hopefully back up again. All of which is occurring during peak business hours. Which does not make for great business. Especially for retail shops. Let's take today for example 02/04/2024... I came in at work at 9 am. Internet went down at 9:45. Did not come back up again until 10:30am. When out again at 10:40 and down again for another 30 minutes or so. It has been like this all day long. Up for 10-15 minutes and then down for another 30-60 minutes. At this moment it is down again and it is 1:14. It was only up for five minutes before going down again. It is only 1:19 pm now and the internet has been down more than up just in the few hours I have already been in today. Question is... Why am I paying for a service and product that is not being provided. Especially during peak business hours? I know some of you reading this review may say, well change your internet service provider. Problem with the is that small town communities like the one I live in do not have choices. Which make it easy for Spectrum to monopolize the area. Yes I could go with a satellite provider, yet we all know that a simple thing like rain can determine if you have internet access or not. Cable vs Satellite and I will go with cable every time. However, the way Spectrum has been providing it service has been no better than satellite. Honestly, I am not sure if Spectrum has truly grasped the concept that customers do prefer to pay with cards more than cash. Unless you have a POS that can store the card transaction while the internet is down and process it later, customers can become a little irritated if asked to provide with another form of payment and they do not have it. Our customers' time is valuable and we try to provide the best customer service to them. But it becomes frustrating and a concern when we cannot do our jobs and it is to no fault of our own. Luckily, some customers can be understandable, forgiving and patient. However, there are some (who I don't blame) can be frustrated with the situation. Nevertheless, if a business was to lose a transaction (sale) because Spectrum dropped the ball, you would not see Spectrum being apologetic or reimbursing that business for the loss of a sale due to Spectrum's continual (how can I say it) lack of support and shoddy product service. If you are lucky they provide you with a $10 credit for your next billing cycle. I prefer to call this hush money to subside you and prevent you from yelling at their customer care representative. Who I am sure is more than likely speaking profanity in the back of their mind at the corporation for dropping the ball once again and having to be the ones to retrieve the ball yet again. Good going Spectrum for creating such a work environment for your reps! I will be honest, yes Spectrum does provide high internet speed at continual annual rate increases and more times than not you will be paying more for non-services. It is now 1:44 pm and the internet is back up. Give it a moment......... Oops... 1:56 pm and back down again. Spectrum charges $83.99 per month for home internet. That's $53.99 more per month than other services, and their service is slower, less reliable service with more outages. When you try to cancel their services, you will be passed around from person to person, put on hold, and then ultimately hung up on. They will ask you multiple times for your name, address, security code, reason for canceling, etc. This is all an attempt to get you to give up and remain a subscriber. Then, just before they disconnect your service, they will explain why you are paying so much. They will tell you that your price is so high because you never reset your account to the new price rate and that suddenly, you qualify for a new rate. Then, finally, they inform you that you still owe them for next month's bill because Spectrum is not a service company; it is a subscription service, and you will still be billed for next month's subscription of $84.99. Avoid Spectrum and Charter Communications with every bit of your resources. They are a scam of the highest order. Tell everyone you know. There are better options out there. Choose one that is transparent. I recently signed up for Verizon home internet, and so far, I have been very pleased with my service. read more

I have had spectrum internet for over 10 years. My bill consistently is raised and the moment I have one issue (I was on a trip for 2 months) and my autopay didn't auto draft. I return home and my internet is not working even though I paid the bill yesterday. I called customer service and they told me there is nothing they can do. I've never had a payment issue in the last 10 years and they refuse to work with me. Absolutely terrible service and terrible company. read more

Have been going back and forth between the call center for over a week. Modem did not arrive when it was supposed too. Been without internet for over a week at this point. I had done business with Spectrum for a couple of years now. I receive their Internet service plus phone service. I was using their services to run my business out of my home. I'm having to drop Spectrum services because of their extremely poor Internet, it keeps on dropping during my business with my customers, so I have to start all over again on my computer and my customers get very upset with me. I was trying to explain everything to Spectrums customer service, letting them know that I was only wanting to pay for their services until the 23rd of September, 2022. Do you know that they would NOT prorate my bill even though I didn't need their services after the 23rd? They want me to pay the entire month's bill even though I won't be using their services after the 23rd. Spectrum is a total rip-off when it comes to receiving their service, which is awful Internet service, but they're happy to rip you off when you want to shut their service down. TDS gives a much better service compared to Spectrum any day, and I only pay $29.00 a month. Spectrum is $98.96 a month for what I use. A company of thieves Spectrum is!
