Oh the rudeness and dishonesty from Spectrum. They're extremely unprofessional and criminal. Repeatedly telling us lies and bullying us all to pay more, way more billing us 50% more than we had agreed. When they increased their service we phoned in was told we would be only be charged our "bright house legacy plan" pricing with adamant opposition to any changes they decided to increase their fee 50% per month without our permission. We've had enough of Spectrum. We miss the good ol days... Time warner, Bright house was wonderful had them since 1999. Oh to have an honest service provider around??? Bueller... Bueller? So now what.. We say bye bye Spectrum with our responding no thanks. Spectrum congratulations you're now making zero dollars going forward every month. For the most part Spectrum does a very good job. If you have any issues they really make a effort to resolve it. That said, what leaves a bad taste in your mouth is the outrageous costs. I started out a few years ago paying $ 160 for full service cable, today I am paying $ 260 with no increase in services. Horrible service in the store been waiting in line for over an hour. no customer service for a simple drop off of equipment. It's mind boggling that you have to wait one hour to drop off equipment. The host Elizabeth told me she doesn't have me waiting here it's my choice to wait or I can leave. On arrival they immediately took my remotes and power cables then held me hostage for a simple return of equipment when I asked for my remotes back they had to clear it thru a manager before they would give me my equipment back. I did speak to Lucy the manager and she listened and took the time to explain my concerns. However, Lucy cannot do it all, training is a must and proper escalation to issues are resolved. Employees do their job, however you get a sense of not putting in no more effort to keep a customer. They comments on people pets, the day, Holidays, but when you bring up a problem, they are like a rock! I think Spectrum is getting like Walmart, they are getting so big that they just don't care about the individual problems. I have my internet only right now, but will be getting rid of this soon too. When I called I was give a spectrum location to drop off equipment and when I went to drop off I was 1st told to sign in after witing for 40minutes for my turn I am then told that they will not take my equipment and that I need to drop off at a UPS store. BEWARE. I called to downgrade to just internet and was talked into streaming services. I was told that it would be $157 and I could use the app on any device. Went to go download the app and could not on any of my TVs. After calling back, I was told I could purchase a device for compatibility that was a one time $40 and an extra $10 a month. The agent also informed me that my bill total was not $157, but actually $215. I again asked to go to just internet for the $91.99 I was quoted by two different agents previously. The agent told me that internet only was actually $109.99. I asked to speak with the Supervisor, Devonte, twice and was declined both times. Not a single apology was offered for the misinformation. Nor was my email responded to after being on hold for almost two hours. Terrible customer service. Switched to AT&T while on hold and will be fully cancelling once the new service is installed. Yes I did know what I was getting when I signed up for spectrum streaming. Have had it for about three weeks and the system will not allow me to connect this premium program that I signed up for. I've had numerous conversations with numerous technicians. I even had an expert to come out to our condo to get a Roku set up and he just couldn't do it. Right now I seem to be paying for something that I'm getting very little service for. Called yesterday and the lady said that multiple people were calling me with the same issues so spectrum was working on the problem. Till this check that later to see if it was operational. Last month they did the same thing, again. Told me I was on a promotion and jumped my rate up to $95/month without my approval. This was for internet only! I switched to AT&T last week (Which I dreaded, knowing AT&T is also less than honest and their customer service is infamously bad). The monthly rate is half the price. I was surprised when I ran an internet speed test and it was running twice as fast as Spectrum (59 mbps vs 26 mbps). I told myself 10 years ago I would never use AT&T again, but I could no longer in good conscious give money to Spectrum, those dirty lyin cheatin no good thieves! One year ago: They bought bright house, then instantly jumped my wifi-only bill up to $75/month, from $50/month. They claimed I was on a "promotion." This was all in an effort to get me to bundle 3 services, two of which I don't need, so I end up paying $100/month. Haven't had issues with their customer service when I needed something. This review is more about their door to door sales. Spectrum, I do not want your sales person showing up to my door being pushy. I told her that I wasn't interested and she wouldn't leave it alone. Then she started talking about cell phone service. I told her I wasn't switching from T-mobile. She wouldn't listen. She also doesn't know too much about what she's talking about. She asked about my plan and I told her I have mobile Hotspot and she said we have that too. She continued to say how I can go to a Starbucks and use the mobile hot-spot. That's not what mobile Hotspot is. She started to argue with me. I can't believe how rude and pushy your sales people are. Now, I am really thinking about switching my internet service to T-mobile and keep all my service with one carrier. Remind your sales people, that if someone says no thank you, that means to go to the next house and it doesn't mean to keep trying to sale stuff that person isn't wanting. There were 9 customers in front of us. Waited about 15 mins and 2 more service reps grabbed a terminal. After that things went at a decent pace. Our rep Christine was very cordial, helpful and efficient. From my past experience with Brighthouse and Spectrum I'd say she's a Rock Star vs what I'm used to. Great job Christine. We switched to Spectrum in April, 2018 because Spectrum promised to give us a better deal than Direct. The also promised to pay off our Direct contract. It is now June and we have been trying to get Spectrum to pay off our contact. We submitted the necessary paperwork twice and we ve called them 5 times. We are told we cannot talk to the department that pays off the contracts. We can only leave message for them. The problem: THEY NEVER CALL BACK. SPECTRUM SUCKS! So far, not pleased! I phoned in for new internet service through Spectrum. I told them that my house was big and that I would like speed throughout, give or take some of course. She informed me the technician would have range extenders and install as needed. So the installer was quick and polite, but when I told him to install some extenders, he said call Spectrum because they will assign them. Now the second I turn the corner from the room modem is in (their modem) BAM, I lose 20-50mbps!! What the heck!! So I called customer service and was told, "go buy an extender!" In other words, it's DAY ONE and I am already being told lies. Yikes!! Update as of July 15th So, my internet speed has been at 100mbps and I have been happy. BUT THEN I receive my first bill for my $49.99/month service. $109 Due, WAIT WHAT?? I was never told about a $59 installation fee for the router. I would of used my own!! So I log into chat to discuss. I can't stand calling and waiting for 30 min to dispute and waste my life. Now I'm Chatting Gave the agent all my account info and guess what? Spectrum says I have an old account, and will replace the modem to one of theirs, but the catch is I would have to upgrade the bundle which will cost me more than what I am currently paying. SCAM!!!
