Located behind McDonalds on Sunset. Same center as Don Quixote's. My mom was visiting so I thought it'd be fun and relaxing to get pedicures together. This is Mom's 3rd ever pedicure. It was also a treat for me since I usually do my own pedicures at home nowadays, to save money. But since it's hotter weather now, thought it'd be good to have my toenails professionally painted. Wanted to make an appointment for sometime between 10:30-10:45am, but the employee asked if I could come at 11am instead, so I wouldn't have to wait. I said, no problem. Got a text confirmation immediately after, with the address of their salon. Seemed like a nice touch, so customers don't accidentally go to the wrong location or forget their appointment time. We arrived around 10:55am. Two employees inside the building, working on one customer. A few minutes later, another (younger) employee arrived. The younger employee worked on my mom and seemed pleasant. Offered us some small bottles of water. However, around 11:10am a young girl arrived and said she had an 11am appointment. She was asked to have a seat and choose a color, relax,'etc. I could feel the younger employee rushing my mom's pedicure since the other employees seemed to not be finishing anytime soon. I noticed the employee working on my pedicure didn't seem to be the most precise. There are some nail salon workers who are perfectionists, and others who do a hasty job. She was the latter. I had to ask her to fix a few areas that she had missed with the nail polish. And trust me, I'm not usually that picky about my toenails--which is why I usually can get by with at-home pedicures. Decided to be fancy and do a flower like I used to do all the time in my younger days. Big mistake. The flowers looked uneven and a mess. She had already spent quite some time trying to fix them to look more even, but the more she tried, the worse it got. I didn't want to be a karen and have her do it all over again either. She seemed to know that it looked pretty bad, though she wasn't able to say much. Just kinda did an embarrassed laugh as she tried to fix it. My mom, who had finished super early, was growing tired of waiting. I explained the uneven, weird-looking flowers but my mom said nobody is going to notice my toes anyways (lol). So I just let it go. Also felt bad because it seemed like the employee only had use of one eye. The other was closed or swollen. Probably has issues with depth perception. Decided to just pay and leave instead of trying to get the flowers to be my liking. Basic pedicures are $35. There is a Yelp discount but the employee who rang me up didn't seem to know what it was. She ended up giving the discount anyways. Might be a change of ownership deal, since their parking lot sign still says "Tresor Nails." Maybe the Yelp $5 off offer was for the previous business. So many nail salons out there with better pedicures so it looks like we won't be back to this one. read more

I came to this nail shop today to get my wedding nails. I was there from 10:30am until 2:30pm and my nails are horrible. They are so thick and I asked for almond and the quality is terrible. The staff was lovely but I didn't have time to ask to be fixed because I was already there so long. I spent $150 and I have to pay to go somewhere else to have this fixed. Everyone started out nice, but then I got snapped at for not understanding what they said about the ($15 extra) chrome top coat I chose (Which the nail tech initially had no idea about). I got sassed and no one made eye contact or spoke to me after that. They were great with my daughter until I got the price of a nail paint for a 4 year old on hands and toes. They charged $40. And this photo is what her nails looked like less than 24 hours!!! The website said $17 for a manicure for littles. She didn't get lotion, message or any frills, just paint that cost $40. An adult pedicure and child nail change cost me $115!!!! Also my pedicure has a bubble in it and parts missing the top coats. The experience took an hour and a half and I left feeling frustrated. If I could leave zero stars I would. I just had the most unhinged scary experience of my life at this establishment. I ended up having to call RPD and left shaking because of how aggressive and erratic the owner was acting with me. There were red flags when I made the appointment initially that I chose to ignore specifically the fact that she was immediately pushing me into a more expensive service, nonetheless, I scheduled the appointment and went with her recommendation agreeing to a set of acrylic nails for $80+. I show up for the appointment today and we get started with a pedicure which was not great. I asked for the deluxe regular polish, the massage was short and they barely cleaned around the cuticles, again, I say nothing and just take a mental note to go somewhere else next time. Then comes the polish, I pick a color and she paints my nails and it is thick and chunky and streaky. So I let her know that they really aren't looking great and she tells me I need to pick a new color and I should have gotten gel, so I pick something else and she disapproves and tells me I need to pick a dark color. I explain that I'm going to a wedding and I need neutral-ish nails for my dress, at this point she is acting annoyed with me, so I pick up the book to look again and pop off a tip in the process and she snaps at me about being more careful. I pick a new color and my toes get painted, they look sloppy and uneven with tons of cuticles but I just let it go. We move to the chair to do my nails and I ask her if she wouldn't mind cleaning up my cuticles before applying the powder to which she refuses and says it doesn't need to be done. I say again, that I would really appreciate if she would and she told me it would be an extra $15. This is the point where I mess up and under my breath I say "are you effing serious?". Given cursing was not okay but what came next was something I would never expect. She starts screaming at me saying she will no longer do my nails throws her tools down and tells me to leave. At this point I am happy to go but then she remembers that I have to pay for my pedicure, she is in my face and will not stop screaming at me, I was shaking badly. She then threatens to call the police if I leave without paying, I say fine whatever just stop yelling me, which she doesn't. So I go to the counter take out my credit card and she tells me she won't take my card and I need to pay cash. I let her know I don't have cash and say just run my credit card so I can leave. She starts yelling about calling the police again because she is refusing my form of payment (they take credit cards btw). She then grabs my arm and says she will walk me to an atm like a prisoner, at this point I'm fully in fight or flight and the minute this happened I left and called Rocklin police department. I've never been treated or interacted with a business owner this unhinged in my life. I'm still shaking. If you read some of their reviews online it sounds like the owner has some anger issues. She's been harassing me via text message since I left and has been sending me threats with photos of my car and screen shots of my social media since I left. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior. Also, while I was there she straight up lied to the girl sitting next to me about providing a service that she did not provide in order to charge her more. The girl and I had a look and she, like me initially didn't say anything, but this business is crooked and the owner should be ashamed of how she acts. Part 2: my response to the further delusion of this business owner in the response below. I did try to pay via credit card and offered Venmo while she was actively screaming at me. It wasn't until she aggressively tried to escort me to an atm like some sort of prisoner that I left out of fear for my safety. I have attached one of the many harassing text messages they sent me proving my story to be true. I highly advise you search this business by their 1 and 2 star reviews. Aggression from this business owner towards their customers appears to be a regular occurance. read more

This is my third time coming to Special Nails in Rocklin. I love this salon. Great service every time. Friendly employees. Complementary drinks. Clean and relaxing environment. The prices are fair (I've been getting my nails done for 7 years now, so I know). First two times Sofia did my acrylic mani and she did great. Such bad customer service ! And bad nail job ! I found them in groups did my nails and next day 4 of my nails cracked and one broke so I contacted them and no one got back to me. I went in without appt the girl was super upset and Kept saying we busy I can't do this for you! You bought it on Groupon. I said it has nothing to do with Groupon I can wait. (not a single person in the salon the whole time I was there ) so she said ok I fix one broken but it's $5 I said it's fine but I want all 4 that cracked fixed please. She only fixed one broken (I paid for it ) she also softened up and tried to fix the nail that had the top coat peeled off but she did such a horrible job, she made it wide and extra long on the top and bunny and different colour on the thumb nail . I'm really disappointed... I came here because they had pretty good reviews comparative to other nail salons in the area, yet what I received in terms of quality was not any better. I only get gel polish on my nails, so I didn't expect too much work to be needed other than a polish change. Unfortunately, the lady who did my nails decided to file them down paper thin. I'm not going to claim I had super strong nails before coming in but they definitely didn't bend and we're not flimsy like they are now. My polish chipped the same day they were done, my nails are breaking, and now I'm going to need to let them grow out before I can get them done again. This nail salon is amazing. Hannah, the owner is very responsive and answers my text almost immediately. When I found her my nails were not in very good shape due to other nail salons mistakes. Now my nails always look beautiful. She has the most amazing selection of colors and glitter and other artwork for nails. Her prices are really reasonable. In addition she has a reward program so that you earn points that you can use in future services. The nail salon is always spotless and is beautifully decorated. Worst nails I have ever received. I have been to the majority of the nail places in our area and I have never once received something this terrible. The lady I had was very nice I will say, in the beginning. I showed her the photo I had wanted and I said I wanted a red french tip almond shaped nail with a bow on my middle finger. The first thing that was not offered was the choices of colors. She picked out the red for me and I did not get to. At first I thought to myself oh maybe they only have one red polish since it seemed like a smaller business compared to the other ones I have been to. My best friend who was also with me then was handed the color choices from her lady. I was like shocked I was not offered this as well. Later through the appointment she then started to file my nails and I had specifically asked for a pointer almond shaped nail since i don't like them to be to wide and wanted them to be longer and a little pointer but still rounded. She said "ok" and continued to make them wide and crooked. One side of my nail is rounded and the other side is flatter. Not even at all. Then we head towards the acrylic powder process. Like I said earlier I have been to many places for about 3 years now and know how to properly apply the acrylic powder(I also went to beauty school and watched a course for nails because I thought about becoming a nail tech). She did not properly apply the acrylic powder which then created thicker portions to my nail and indents to other portions. This was when I started getting a little frustrated and had high hopes for this place. I started to look at the reviews during this and I think my nail lady had noticed me looking at the reviews and being shocked with what I saw. She started to get more aggressive with me and was yanking my arm and stuff and telling me I need to stop being distracted and moving around(I was in fact very still). I then just set my phone down and looked over to talk to my friend, the nail lady had then said "nuh uh don't move". I thought this was very belittling in a way because I am not a child. You can ask me politely to stop moving if I even was in the first place. She then started to head towards the painting of the nail process and she then messed up my lines and they are all janky and squiggly for a french tip. I asked her to fix one of the lines and she had sighed and just seemed very upset I was asking her to fix a few things I did not like. It was starting to get very upsetting. It felt as though this lady was very inexperienced. Along with the painting of the nails she had done each individual finger separately right after I had mentioned to my friend I had to be leaving to head to work soon. I felt as though this was a way to make me late to work. I have never once seen a nail salon put each individual finger underneath the blue light. In the end I did not end up getting the bow I had wanted and just accepted defeat and left. It was 67 dollars for something I did not like but I will not argue with the price since she did do the work for it, even if it wasn't the best. Overall, I recommend not to go to this place and just to go somewhere else. Bui Nail Lounge and Logo Nails will always be my favorites! Best quality and best service! read more

Males Beware! The wifey and I wanted to do a manicure. I'm a guy so I don't have much experience with getting manicures done. This was the 2nd manicure I've ever had done in my life. Needless to say the lady I got wasn't a happy person. Not sure if it was because I was a guy and just wanted a basic manicure or what. She did look a bit surprised when I said I wanted to get one. Judgmental much? Guys can get manicures too!? Right? :) My wife's nail tech was a lot better than mine and was very kind hence the 2 stars for her. My nail tech lady seemed to be in a rush and was quite violent with my fingers. No communication, no small talk, just rushing to get my nails done as fast as possible. She dug in deep on my left pinkie and pricked the skin from going too fast. It only bled a little bit but dang lady you gotta slooooow down! The only times she did talk was when she was talking with her co worker in Vietnamese. Rudeeeeee! Bottom line: some of these places need to really work on customer service. There are a ton of nail salons around the area so there's plenty of selection. These places are a dime a dozen. I'd look elsewhere if you want better customer service or you might just get lucky and get my wife's nail tech... happy manicuring! read more
